- Okay guys, seriously, these are AMAZING! Honestly they're dangerous. The first time you make them will likely take a little while because you're figuring them out. But I'm certain I'll fly through the process now that I know what I'm doing. I hope you give them a try!

These turned out so good. My husband was thrilled. Said they were better than store bought!
Oh Lynette I’m so glad you gave them a try!! I’ve been wanting to make them again lately.
Love that you are feeling optimistic! That's great to share, I feel a little more inspired for hearing it :) Great job with this recipe! I haven't had pop tarts in such a long time, but seeing this is giving me cravings haha
I’m glad to hear it :) I also haven’t had Pop Tarts in a long time because I won’t buy them! It was such a nice treat to make them.
Hey Jay! Wow these really do look SOOO good! I am going to have to give them a try sometime 😀-Cara
Thanks for watching, Cara! ❤️
Yum
Ive been binge watching you today.... here we go. Homemade poptarts. I'm headed to the kitchen
Thank you for stopping to comment! And of course, for binge watching 😍 I appreciate you so much!
The cinnamon toast crunch cereal recipe would’ve been good for this I imagine. And to get the dough, the same size I would just use the scale it would come out equal on the dot I hope your appointment went well.🫶🏼Blessings
What a great idea to weigh the dough. I will do that next time!
New Sub! Binge watching today! Appreciate your authenticity & clear instructions...Happy Sunday Everyone 😊
Welcome and thank you so much!! I hope to interact with you more in the future :)
You can use leaf lard or tallow instead of shortening
Yes I’m going to be trying that with a few different recipes this fall.
Hahaha... Tom hides pop tarts in the car 😂😂😂😂😂
I love this video, It has brought inspiration in me to make them with my Grandson I might put different fillings in them and have a little fun trying new things.Thank you.
Thanks for this video. These are my sons favorite and it is really hard to find them in the stores now. So I'm going to try and make them; and I hope he gives them a thumbs up also.
Oh he’ll love them. I guarantee it. Then you’ll be making big batches to keep in the freezer!
They look delicious
Filling with apple butter, yum 😋
So good!! 🙌🏻
They look great!
Thank you! I haven’t made them recently, I need to!
They remind me of the Pillsbury pasty ones you get on the frozen section think there called pastry strudels or something like that. They look good though. I never eat poptarts or anything I will havs to try these one day. Thanks take care
I used to buy those!
You need to not pack down the flour when measure. Shaking it packed it down.
Pastry is intuitive. I got into making pastry years ago, and you literally keep adding water until it comes together.
Pastry is intuitive, that’s a good way of putting it!
If your picky husband says these are amazing then I need to try them! Unfortunately he doesn't share 😉
Haha I can make extra and have him bring them to work so you can try one.
Good Afternoon Jay !! You need to do some shorts as well on both your Instagram and RUclips .. I started doing it .. Check them out if you want.. One of my guilty pleasure is a nice warm blueberry pop tart...They look amazing!!
It’s so funny you say that because the next flavor I’m doing is blueberry with a lemon frosting! Also, I used to do shorts but honestly I don’t like doing them. Maybe this summer I’ll put in a bit more effort.
TIL: Tom keeps pop tarts in his car.
I'll have to try the all butter recipe sometime soon. I always like the recipes that include "outs" like "chill for hours." Perfect for my shortened attention span.
Haha no he doesn’t but if I keep making grocery store swap outs he might 😂 I agree those are the best kind of recipes!
How long do u bake your cookies for
The recipe is linked in the description :)
@@faithandarrowhomestead it dose not say how long to bake them
You say you are trying to eat healthy, but your recipe uses a hydrogenated oil: vegetable shortening. Is there any substitute? Coconut oil? Ghee? Let us know what you try.
Oh yeah for SURE I would not use vegetable shortening now. I actually just made these the other day and I used lard. You could also use all butter. I’m not sure I’d use coconut oil.
