Hello, I just came across your channel. I love to do the baking kits in a jar. I only have a few right now, but I'm looking forward to seeing which ones you have!
Welcome! I love baking kits. It’s such a great way to prep ahead and make baking more convenient! I’ve got more to upload this coming month. Check my channel for the brownie kit. I’ll be uploading whole wheat pancakes next. Stay tuned!
I made the rolls before I decided to make a bunch of jars. The rolls are delicious and I let them brown slightly and they were soft and fluffy. Thanks for the wonderful addition to my pantry and my Christmas dinner line up
Keep them in a cool dry place and they can last as long as your flour would normally last. If there’s room in a fridge or freezer, that’s even better. I used to keep them 6 months. Those in a freezer last for years. But now with my large family, we go through kits really fast.
This yeast is dry, so it does not have the same effect. While salt can inhibit yeast growth, there is no growth happening while they are in dry form. When it is all added to the machine, everything is mixed together and salt helps the process in several ways.
@@rubymattingly8533 Oh that's even easier! Dump wet ingredients into mixer and slowly add the dry ingredients. After a few minutes on low speed, you can speed it up to medium speed and let machine knead it for about 5 more minutes. Then follow directions from the first rise (step 4 in by hand).
You definitely could! I don’t have a vacuum sealer. But even for those that don’t, they can keep closed and in a cool, dry place and they should be fine for a while.

Great video! I love make ahead recipes, especially during the holidays. How many rolls does this recipe make?
Thanks! Each jar makes 18 medium sized rolls.
Can I add this to my kitchen aide I don’t have a bread machine?
Yes, absolutely! There’s another comment higher that I explained the how-to in.
When I get home, I’ll add it to the description too. ❤

How long of shelf life on the dry mixture jars

@lifehomemade thank you 😊
@@rubymattingly8533You’re welcome! Feel free to contact me with more questions.
Top video thanks. But yeast must not touch salt (salt killes yeast if it touch)
This yeast is dry, so it does not have the same effect.

What can you use if you don't have a bread machine
@@rubymattingly8533 I will update the directions in description for hand mixing. Thanks for this comment!

I would have thought that you would vacuum seal the jars....
You definitely could! I don’t have a vacuum sealer.
