Clemson SUES the ACC | What happens next?

- Clemson has become the second ACC member to sue the conference in order to get legal clarity about whether the league's Grant of Rights agreement and withdrawal penalty are enforceable.
Florida State sued in December, but it has long been known that Clemson, Miami and North Carolina also were interested in possibly leaving the ACC because of the growing revenue gap between that league and the Big Ten and the SEC.
Andy and On3's Pete Nakos break down Clemson's lawsuit and try to predict the next twist in an increasingly messy saga. - Спорт
Very interesting timing. Three days before the FSU ACC hearing in North Carolina. Part of the Clemson lawsuit, they point out that the ACC did not request permission of members to file lawsuit in NC.
I am interested in who voted to sue Florida State and who will vote to sue Clemson. Those who vote to sue probably have no landing spot anywhere . In alphabetical order:,BC, Duke, GT, Syracuse, UVA, VT and WF. Louisville, Miami, NC State & Pitt question marks? Sue or not to sue.
@@davidbrown386modt of the conference isn't going anywhere
So daring. So brave. The case seems valid. It’s almost like some other school grewa pair and did the real work weeks and weeks ago.
they do the real work when they got ass blasted 63-3?
Seem envious about the ass blasting? Its ok cutie, come out!@@mmmmm-tl6tl
Clemson did it the smart way

Florida State had to announce their intentions in a public forum Because of the states, sunshine laws, That is why they were so vocal about their intentions. For all of the people complaining About Florida state Having to face this alone Should Stop being so naïve and take a step back And Re-assess the situation, Clemson is filing a lawsuit that attacks The situation from a different angle Dan, the lawsuit that Florida State has filed, Working together to create different strategies That would benefit both in the end.
Now all the FSU haters can just sit down and STFU it's not just us 😏
Patiently waiting for the media articles calling Clemson selfish brats ruining college football
FSU selfish Brats lol
I think you’ll see FSU, Clemson, UNC, & NC State all leave. Likely Miami, VT, UVA, & GT as well at some point
I wonder how the former Big East teams feel. I find it funny that out of all the original Big East schools Rutgers hit the realignment lottery. 😂
How so? Neither the acc nor the b12 is hitting tht lottery. Rutgers is the only 1 that actually hit the lottery.
For real!
@@shallojallohHe’s saying Rutgers is the only one who hit it
@@nashawnlivingston2965 Gotha l gotcha. I misread that. Thanks for correcting me
This 100% will not be settled for “$200-$300 million per school” ACC will have to play every card exactly right to get anything at all. Most likely scenario, ESPN pulls the plug on GoR and it all falls apart
Bout time yall got your shit together
When is Miami sueing?
The ACC became a Tier B conference the day they signed the current ESPN GOR. ESPN knew where they were prioritizing coverage and that was the SEC. It has taken time for FSU and Clemson to realize just how bad the current ACC deal is. I would have thought no renegotiation opportunities until 2036 should have been a clue but I didn’t hear full details of the Situation until the FSU lawsuit. Now, I wonder why more schools are not wanting to leave, perhaps they think this is their best option hanging on to a leaky boat.
How many ACC schools have to sue the ACC before ESPN makes their move sooner than later?
ESPN lawsuits are coming also probably from every acc school.
Why wouldn’t all the other “major” programs in the ACC file their own law suits?
Why spend money on lawsuits when other schools are doing it for you and you can just spend whatever money it takes to leave?
Nobody else has virtually guaranteed landing spots
The only ACC schools that have guaranteed Big 10 or SEC landing rights are Clemson, FSU, ND & UNC. Miami is up in the air.
@@davidbrown386, why, because you said so?!🙄
That $150m is 3 years of the operating budget of a power 4 conference. If espn does not pickup the tv contract then that operating budget goes down thus fsu amd clemson should be operationg on a number lower than that.
What conference are they going to go too? Sec I would assume what they want but is sec taking new members
B10 wants fsu
Your thinking to small… it’s about TV money aka FOX(BIG10) vs ESPN(SEC). Think of it this way does FOX want a top 15 football brand in the southeast market? Of course they do. Would ESPN be threatened by fox getting football brands in there southeast market? This is the question everyone should be asking. If espn is threatened by fox acquiring southeast brands such as fsu, Clemson. Then I think FSU ends up in the SEC. If ESPN is not threatened by fox then they end up in the BIG10. As an fsu fan I would prefer sec just because I could day drive to alot of other schools for away games but either way getting out of the ACC where every championship game is held in North Carolina and all the North Carolina schools get all the calls no matter the sport all fsu fans are ready to get out of this dump.
Clemson wouldn’t have even started this process yet unless they’ve already talked to someone in the SEC or BIG about a potential landing spot.
Why do you have this guy Nakos on? He has no clue.
Pete doesn’t look old enough to be a reporter for On3! 😆
Virginia or Virginia Tech should sue next. That would cause the ACC to hire legal representation in VA. All of the teams could strategically make the ACC start draining their pockets in legal fees.
Virginia and VT voted to authorize legal action against FSU, by joining those suing to leave makes them hypocrites.
Not every school wants the acc to die bc big ten probably inky taking 3-4 and sec like 2
UVA and VT do not have guaranteed landing spots in the Big 10 or SEC. I doubt they go to the Big 12 either.
@@dlksjaxno they didnt what are you talking about??
Virginia cannot sue the acc. Read the lawsuit.
Is everyone going to rip on Clemson now like everyone has been ripping on FSU for being "selfish, greedy, etc"? Bout time Clemson got it's act together!
Clemson has been working on this for a while.
IF all the schools want out, then the ACC will be finished. Who would get all the money, Boston College?
Two weeks before FSU filed the lawsuit Clemson A.D. met with Florida State A.D. in Tallahassee. if y’all did any due diligence outside of set behind a PC, you could actually be worth watching. It was all planned. FSU had just been snob so they had the right to be big and become the villain. Clemson had planned to file at a certain time after the ACC had to respond to FSU’s laws.. the ACC, however did Clemson and Florida State a favor when they filed a lawsuit against Florida State. It was a Christmas present to the teams that wanna leave. Also, North Carolina cannot leave without NC State, North Carolina and North Carolina state package deal the fact that you don’t know that once again means you should do your homework before you speak it’s part of their state law. The fact that you don’t know public record shows that the Clemson A.D. met with the Florida State A.D. before Florida State file is crazy to me. Y’all really need to do your homework a lot more before you post on the Internet. The next team to file will be North Carolina and NC State will file one lawsuit together not separate. They’re working on it now in Raleigh and it will be filed shortly. The next one to come will be Virginia and Virginia Tech. They’ve already agreed that they’re going to fight it together. It’s public knowledge it’s something that you should report on because you should know, the fact that you’re not reporting on this once again, you’re not doing your homework
The number 10 the amount needed to dissolve the conference. Maybe 8 if SMU, Stanford, and Cal don’t have full voting rights yet?
Of course Clemson wants out. Doesn’t take a sports talk show host to see it. SEC will want a Fsu. It’s over for the ACC.
Please the suc isn't better than the B1G now that everyone Padua players above board! Under the table they had one team blama! 😂😂😂Gooooo Bluuuuuueeeeee Baby!
CLEMSON WILL be in the sec in 2025 this is the kissof death for acc
Somewhat expected news.
Bigger story is, how is this Pete guy a reporter? Andy seems to have to correct every statement he makes, and he just makes general obvious statements.
Andu may as well just have introduced him as "some kid who watches my videos"
God I hope fsu joins the B1G. They'd fit in well with O-CRY-O.
Clemson would just be another Mizzou in the SEC.
Just please, please, please, don't let fsu join the SEC. We already have one trashy FL team.
Proud of Clemson to do the right thing.
Florida State headed to the Big Ten.
I wouldnt be 100% on the B1G
@@user-mn2dv1ci7g Yes, sir 100%. Sec would treat Fsu like Vandy. Sec would be Second to the Big Ten because they would be like the NFL. Southwest, Southeast, Mid West, East, West, North and South. There is bigger world then the Southeast Conference.
@@nolenation1993a national conference is not as grandeur as you portray it to be. Non revenue sports travel and NIL payouts will eventually doom a coast to coast conference. Im sure the fsu administration are happy you’re not making decisions.

Don't need the new CFP to show the ACC is a second rate conference. Look at what happened to FSU last year. And that is why I hope we do not go to the SespnEC.
Lol fsu would be at the top of any conference
So is this the part where all you media clowns spend 2 weeks talking about how selfish & greedy & ridiculous Clemson is for wanting to leave & ruining the sport…or is it suddenly “understandable” now
Miami voted with the acc to sue fsu

Acc is done, its in the by laws that they cannot sue a member without approval from the other institutions! They never did that! they are dead in the water!
14 team playoff
This Andy Staples is full of total BS!! Clemson and FSU will be in the Power 2 with in seconds of getting out. ACC will be rendered worthless at that point by ESPN!
Clemson will be in the SEC by 2026!
I don’t think sec wants to add more teams right now. Got OU and Texas, don’t know if they want to jump to a big super conference first before anyone else. I’m sure current schools in sec don’t want to add, dilutes money right now
