A good majority of canes fan do not live in South Florida. So, we can't attend every game. Plus, in South Florida, much like LA, people have options! No, every stadium is not packed. Check out the other university teams, from USF, FAU, to FIU and see if they’re packed. Massive schools like UF, UM (Michigan) OSU etc have student bodies that are many times larger, and being much older schools, have a huge alumni base, and play in small college towns. Their student fan base can’t even fit in the stadium and season tickets have waiting lists. Try finding a few small schools like Miami which have five rings. You won’t find any. With the exception of ND (a very special case of a national fan base) there are no small schools like us who dominate (dominated) the rankings so ppl compare us to the monster SEC and B1G schools. Compare us to Tulane, Dartmouth or any small-med sized universities who play football. If Michael Irvin, Steve Walsh, and a zillion other guys could handle our lack of sellouts so can today’s future superstars.

There’s nothing wrong with the Hurricane fans; it’s just the way S Fl is. The Dolphins, during the Perfect Season, didn’t get sellout crowds, and back then the games weren’t televised unless they were sellouts. There’s too much to do and all games are televised. You can record a game, take the family to the beach and watch the game when you get home. The U, despite having national recognition, is a small young school with a relatively small alumni group. After graduation Miami alumni scatter so we have a presence, small though it may be, at away games. When teams like FSU or ND come to play, there are always more of them than us, but we manage to dominate the noise. The low fan turnouts didn’t affect our 5 natty’s so ppl should stop worrying about it. Win enough in Hurricane style and there will be enough fans.

Look no further than 2017 season and the Notre Dame game specifically. College GameDay was packed with Miami students and fans. The stadium was packed and one of the loudest in all of college football. Definitely a home field advantage.
Unfortunately, the football team has been mediocre at best for the last 20 years outside of the 2017 season. That's not good enough for Miami fans. They want a championship contender.

Why nobody goes to Miami hurricanes games is the same reason even when the marlins are decent they don’t fill the place for big regular season games..same thing can be said for the Heat..you have to be elite in the city of Miami to garner the support..in the realm of CFB no other national program can say that. You have legitimate college towns where the whole economy depends on the university being there…that’s where the Miami campus being 45 minutes away also plays a role. The campus is in coral gables..the stadium is in Miami Gardens..plus the fact Miami is a small private university that has a fraction of the enrollment then a FSU or UF..and you can easily see WHY Miami games will not be filled unless it’s a UM vs VA Tech 2017 or Miami vs ND in 17..only when Miami was ELITE was the orange bowl a great home field advantage because Those canes put on shows in big games..if Miami returns to that national dominance again, you’ll see the ND17 version of Hardrock on Saturdays..I think even Mario understands that.

The fan situation is easy 1st big city boston, new York, Los Angeles it is hard to draw because they are pro dominate cities. #2 small school and heavy international students. School only has 10,000 students many international who think football is soccer. 90 % of Miami fans are not associated with the school and a good portion of them don't live close to Miami. I one of them from Boston and I also don't like most of the fans. An example is most podcasts and people who post do not like Mario because he hasn't won a national championship, I could go on and on.

Sunshine Billy better start packing his bags because I honestly don’t see 5 wins on UF’s schedule and the team is in shambles. If want to see some insufferable fans you do not need to look any further than Tallahassee (I hate the gators more, but FSU fans are the absolute worst). I'd put Michigan and Tennessee up there, too! Your ignorance about Miami is astonishing. First off, the school has about 11,000 undergrads, many of whom are international students. A very good portion of graduates don't stay in Miami after graduating (like me, who went to NYC). Second, you don't seem to realize the Miami Hurricanes compete against every other sports team in South Florida for ticket money. Guess what? The Marlins attendance sucks balls too. But the most ignorant thing you said is people hate Miami because of the fans. History lesson bud. Miami was the first major institution in the Southeast to admit black students. When Miami started to win, we were flashy about it. Players dancing on the field, and they're BLACK???? The hatred of Miami has nothing to do with the fans because it started long before social media, genius. Nobody heard anything from the fans back in the day. People hate Miami because of deep-seeded racism in college football. If you're gonna talk about us, learn something.

You are an absolute moron I mean, it’s astonishing how moronic you are. Yes, it’s true what you’re saying the people hated Miami because of flashy black players back in the day and racism had a lot to do with it.. that ain’t the case today pal. People hate Miami because of their big mouth moronic fans. And that’s facts. I’m ingrained in the college football world and have been for 30 years. It’s 100% fact that Miami fans are the biggest delusional fanbase in the country. I deal with them on the daily. You’re coming at this from a Miami fans perspective. I’m coming at it from a national college football fan perspective. I don’t need to know about you or your opinion of Miami because I’m expressing the national fans opinion about Miami. And I nailed it spot on and anybody will tell you the same. As for your weak ass attendance it’s a nonsense argument. There are six home games a year. They’re 82 Marlins games. Weak argument, weak fans

All things that Mario(and everyone for that matter) misjudged just how far miami had fallen. Our team was a heapingpile of garbage with almost zero talent and difference makers. In two short years he fixed the horrible loser culture filled with selfish kids who didn't care about working for their results. In these two years he fixed the culture and instilled a killer instinct with an edge and has stacked ballers all over the field on both sides along with bringing the depth behind the starters to a decent level that will be elite depth as soon as next year with another top 5 class. Yes his coaching on gameday doesn't scream elite at you but he's very close to having enough stud ballers to where it won't matter quite as much because he will win almost all games on talent alone to cover his defencies. Miami could have easily been a 9 win team last year if he kneeled on the ball and we had better depth as we had nothing but starter after starters go down throughout the year at an insane clip and still managed to improve. This year's team has waaay more depth and all these youngins he's brought in are starting to get up to elitecollege play. This is a vastly better team then last year and with a nfl type qb in ward 10 games should be easily attainable this year with a chnace to go on a crazy once in a decade run. We have that kinda potential
