Will definitely change closer to the season
I see 10 power 5 (4?) opponents. We managed to beat a whopping 2 out of 10 in regulation last year. If we can't top that, we're toast.
Problem is, at least 7 of these were flat-out better than us last year.
I figure between 5 and 7 wins, just like every season.
I don't see a double-digit win this this coming season. If the coaching staff resolves the issues within the team as well the um coaching staff then its possible til then i see 8-4 (9-3 at best depending on the outcome of the fsu game) with losses to VT, LOUISVILLE, and DUKE yes i said it but again is depending on the fsu outcome but i think the duke game is a trap game and miami will be sleeping just being a realist and logical about it

‘Cuse is in a dome stadium, thank heaven. Anything less than 9 games with this schedule would be cause for real concern. No Clemson, no NC St, no UNC. A birth in the conference championship with Cam Ward should be attainable.

I feel good about the schedule. Plus ive been saying it since Mario hoped on the jet to come down to the 305. We gotta wait until at least 2024 to make a judgement call on how things mught look moving forward. I do think we gotta be EXTREMELY CAREFUL in that USF game. They damn near beat bama last year, and we CAN NOT LET MANNY HAVE A HAPPY HOMECOMING.

Realistically, the schedule is extremely favorable, but still another 7-5 record. The biggest issue will be controlling turnovers and keeping Ward healthy. PAC12 is famous for their poor defenses and the ACC has good-dominate defenses. Ward has a history of excessive fumbling and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the pass defenses of FSU, Duke, Clemson, etc.
Floor: 9-3 Ceiling: 12-0 I think 12-0 and 11-1 are the most possible because I think we either win one or both rivales. I think those are only teams that can beat us

As a noles fan, with this schedule, if maimi doesn't make it to the acc championship, the season is an abject failure. That schedule is a cake walk outside of 2 games.

No, miami’s 2024 schedule is far easier than FSU’s 2023 schedule… without comparing anything else, nothing on um24 even comes close to playing Clemson in Death Valley. miami’s schedule is much more similar to Louisville’s 2023 schedule. But even if someone were to grant that FSU23 and um24 were similar schedules, FSU went 13-0 and won the ACC… so, if the schedules are similar, miami should also go 13-0 and win the ACC, right?

I don't think we lose to Florida. I agree FSU and Louisville should be tough games but winnable. Every game looks winnable to be honest.
I agree with the losses mentioned and would add Louisville. Don’t be surprised if Duke gives you a close game and possible loss. Duke’s pass defense is solid. Turnovers will be big in that game. 7-5 or 8-4
Add Georgia Tech - after the toughest stretch of your schedule, there will be injuries and their QB may have more surprises after a close game last year.

I'm seeing 9-3. Losses to Syracuse, Louisville, and FSU. FSU is beatable, considering that game is almost always close. Other than that, unless one of those 3 completely falls apart, or our WR's suddenly and miraculously start getting separation, I don't see another win. Good news is, with Cam at QB (provided he plays more consistent than TVD did) we shouldn't lose any games we should win. Likely 9-3, 8-4 should be the basement, especially considering Duke or VT could bite us in the rear also, and a Ceiling of 10-2. I don't see us beating both Syracuse AND Louisville on the road.

Mario came into Miami with a solid recruiting class and went 5 and 7, last year he had a great recruiting class and improved to 7 and 5(with an unstable QB room)....this year he has a top 5 recruiting class(a very good portal re-enforcement) and the best stability in the QB room() that he's had to date here.....the schedule is more favorable than the past two seasons as well, so it should be a bigger jump than 2 wins, 10 wins should be the floor. If retaining the same OC and DC plus having two young QB's with game exp. and two successful transfer QB's coming in the fold(one of which is a potentially high NFL pick), it's actually not crazy to say 10 wins should be very attainable. The Oline is bigger, stronger and deeper than it's ever been.....The front seven on defense is 2 deep, fast and nasty which will give a very capable secondary time to gel and excel....this the year for a big jump, next year depends on QB development(but the depth and experience everywhere else will be peaking). 10 wins.....the other three games(we are going to a bowl) will depend on coaching and preparation.
You guys should do well this year with your cream puff schedule that is as long as Mario doesn’t screw it up for you.

I agree 9 wins should be the absolute floor. I really think 10 wins would be the number that you say ok the money and moves we have put in and made are worth it and we are moving in the right direction. 9 wins is really only one more than last season when you take the GT issues out. My concerns are more of trap games. South Florida yes should be a win but that will probably be a trap game if Miami players haven't meshed by then. Also we have 2 bi weeks and still haven't broken the bi week course. So I would call those trap games. Plus we have to remember we are not a liked team in the eyes of the ACC refs, so there will most likely be a game or more where that becomes an issue. Also I could see Cal being a trap game since it is such a far travel and first time being in conference it will feel more like an out of conference game this first year with them. Miami has to get better at winning the battle within first to overcome some of those issues. We beat ourselves more than we just lose to other teams. This is obviously way to early, but if you dissect last season. You can say Miami was really a 10+ win team just with better QB consistency alone. Those are all games where Miami hurt itself. We didn't get out played or out manned. We made stupid mistakes that we shouldn't make. So we have to clean that up and yes hopefully Cam Ward fixes the QB issues, but let's be honest. TVD stats the first 4 games had him as the number 1 QB in the country. He didn't even drop to 3rd until after his 4th or 5th Int. But he was the best until the bi week. Again we have to fix those stupid issues first. If anyone doesn't think it was stupid mistakes, think about this. TVD with 5 losses and 12 Int's had roughly the same yards, same TD's, Same avg yards, slightly higher completion percentage then the all mighty Jordan Travis. Those stats are with him throwing 12 Int's and Travis only throwing 2. Fix the mistakes, The coaches should have never let that go on as long as it did. I get the idea to stick with a QB, but you can bench him and have a honest conversation of why and make him earn that spot back. It would have helped the team and TVD.
What game are you coming down for this year?
There is no excuse not to open the playbook on offense...im hoping to see them utilize the middle of the field the te position and some play action and hopefully some options.
I know if we see the same play calling as last year our we won't see much improvement considering everyone has a blueprint of our play calling.

Coop - its looks good for MIami this year - Min is 9 without some catastrophic injuries or events causing major disruptions - the other 3 games looks like a competitive matchup where we find out is Cam Ward that good? Is the defense really loaded and will they shutdown those 3 teams in the first half giving the ball to Ward and company to do their thing building leads to enhance MIami's chances at victory? It always starts in August. Does Malik Murphy turn Duke into contenders? Is louisville going to make it to the top? I think FSU is not going to be the same without Travis and all their grad student defense is gone. You have to remember LSU with the QB a few years ago winning it all then loosing 4-5 games the next year. It all turns over year to year. All you can do is hold on to your hat and say Go Canes!

Minus "the knee" game, we should've had 8 regular season wins last year. That said, paying all that money to bring in Ward for 1 year, the floor has to be 10 regular season wins (at least 2 more wins). My prediction though, is 9 wins (losing to UF or FSU, Louisville & one we shouldn't like Cal, Duke or Syracuse).
We always have problems with fsu, and we usually GIVE away a game we should have won by 14+. But you never know
Nothing in football is easy. That's what's wrong with this is we think showing up to the game is enough. Ohio State finishes in top 3 recruiting every year and still lost to Missouri. This team is young.
Something else i would like to point out is the amount of games in Florida. 8 games within the state of florida. So that is a lot of good for fans for easier travel and road trips. And the home games has good rivals like Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Duke. So that is always exciting to see.

Coach Coop I see 11-1 Record and I’ll give a Very Good Logical reason why. ☝🏾 first We Have a Wayyyyyyyy Better Quarterback in Cam Ward who will come in an Play Lights out he’s just a 🌟 Superstar He can do it all Make every single pass with Crisp Accuracy. Two We have Unlimited amount of Weapons on Offense and Our Offensive Line is just going to be Superb I believe Top 3 Offensive Line in the Nation. Number 3 Our Defensive Line is Just Nasty and mean we’re going to Torture Opponents just with our Defensive Line Alone they’ll get at least 5 or more Sacks a Game. Also the secondary a lot of people are sleeping 😴 on Them we have two 🔒 Lock Down CBs in DP and Damarri Brown also I love the Safety Pickup from Washington Meesh Powell he’s going to be Huge in the Secondary for us, and I say Savion Riley or Markieth Williams will start at the Other Safety Spot if I had to choose it’s Williams he’s Super Talented. Our LBs is just Monsters Kiko and Bissanthe so we’re going to be A Great Defensive Team. Last but never least I think 🤔 that Mario will Let Dawson be free and Let him Control The Offense this year, I also believe that Dawson will not be Cupcake 🧁 calling plays he’s going to Unleash the his entire playbook including the TEs why ? because now he has the Quarterback to make every single throw and he’s very Dynamic Mane I’m so 🔥fired up . Riley Williams will be a Huge Part of Us getting to the ACC Championship. Mario knows his coaching seat is Heating Up fast 🔥 so we can’t underachieve this season . UF is trending down big time. The hardest part about that game is that it’s week 1 in the swamp. Still think Miami comes out on top. 10-2 season and a shot at a possible CFP bid. Undefeated season isn’t a far off possibility realistically though.🙌🏼

I think we’re one knee away last year from being 8-4 but I do think that has to be the floor this year. People keep talking about how the schedule looks favorable, but there are definitely some unknowns for example, teams like Duke and a much improved Syracuse with new quarterbacks coming in could be a huge factor Virginia Tech, and their offense prove last year that they can put up 40 with anyone in a shootout. shoot, even a USF is making their case as a ranked team this preseason and could be ranked higher than us come game time. My expectation is 9-3 this year.

He is a good runner and his size will truck Defenders, Plus he's not a fumble machine. It's a reason why "Ward" didn't go in the NFL or was told he would be a late round pick in the NFL.. Your QB of the future is already at Miami. Believe in him like he believes in the U, before he transfers to another team that sees his potential. He would fit Good at FSU. UF (early in the year v later in the year when they will have quit), Louisville, and FSU are potential loses. With Mario’s in game coaching, we need to be realistic in that at least one of these are going to be an L, even if we are likely the favorite in all 3. GT is sneaky alright and one we can’t take lightly.
That said, Mario has to get us to an ACC championship game - there’s no excuse this year.
Coach Coop - Two bye weeks equals two losses right off the bat - give the canes a week off and they take two.
I kid… but I do think that uf, Louisville (after the first bye), and FSU all pose real threats. Plus, if the canes drop back-to-back games against the Cards and the Noles, I wouldn’t sleep on how much more difficult the Duke and GT games become. That stretch is the only real challenge, but it becomes make or break if week one goes poorly.
All that said, miami has absolutely no business losing more than two games and Mario will have absolutely no excuses if they do.

I love UM but have learned over a long period of time not to overrate them. How many times do UM fans need to get burned before they stop doing this. Mario is an average head coach. I'll believe the Canes can win 8 games when I see it. There are still several question marks about next year's team. Seeing is believing.
We haven't looked great after the bye week lately so having our two hardest games right after, might not be a good thing. Based on nothing but performance this last year, and assuming everyone stays healthy and uninjured, 10-2 should not be unreasonable against this schedule. 9-3 would be progress but baby steps is NOT why we worked so hard to pick up Cam Ward. Go Canes!!!

Lol after going on a rant about being realistic.. "FSU, we only lost by 7 last year, we should beat them." You know that if you're being realistic, that's an L for Miami for at least next year, barring some crazy unforeseen circumstance. I don't even have to explain why, really. FSU dominates Miami in every relevant talking point, from the absolute top of the list, to the absolute bottom. You may be in the same conference, but not even close to the same environment. Not yet, at least. But I am optimistic that y'all are on a cusp of some kind of relevancy, with an easy path to playoffs in the ACC, especially when FSU/Clemson leaves the conference. Plus they are pouring money into the program right now. I think you guys should continue to follow FSU's model for Norvell and give Cristobal some time to build. He's a good coach, let him get his guys in there. There's no logic beyond being biased, a homer, and hopeful to think Miami "should" beat FSU this coming season, instead of "could." This is why people clown Miami so hard, more than most other programs. Because to do any relevant bragging about the program, you have to pull out VHS tapes and a VCR. Kids have been born, been through multiple world crisis, been through 4 presidents, got their driver's license, had their first drink, graduated high school, graduated college, found a career, are raising their own kids, watched FSU win another National Title, watched FSU go through their darkest times, back to watching FSU have an undefeated season/ACC Title, and have still never seen Miami win just the ACC. I mean, it's not like you guys don't already know this, it goes without saying. We just like to remind y'all that you may act like you're a big, dominant, national brand in Miami, but that doesn't mean anything relevant at the big boy table. Even in years where you beat FSU, it didn't translate into anything relevant. Year after year, much like Cowboys fans, we have to listen to y'all. The two teams that have had so much talent, but simply have been too ignorant figure out what to do with it. If Miami fans could be "realistic" they wouldn't get so much crap. It's like the guy in Kung Pao: Enter the Fist that was trained by the villagers as a joke to think that losing is a good thing. Miami goes 9-3 at best this year. You're probably going to lose to UF, FSU, and Syracuse. Even if at 11-1 hypothetically with your only loss to FSU, Miami likely still wouldn't make it to the ACC Championship over a 10-2 Clemson, who's losses will likely only be to FSU and Georgia. You guys will have to cheer harder this year for other teams to lose, than you will have to cheer for your own team to win and make the 12-team playoff.
