Well, the Netflix series showed a bit of how the political structure works for Tevinter. Where mages are actually respected and nobility, unlike the rest of Thedas, where mages are treated more like ticking time bombs
Not to mention DA 2 he hates beards, obviously the clowns making this game, have never played DA. He also looks as if he is in his 60s, not his late 40s.
It's just Tevinter religious organization regulations at play. All evil cults are legally obligated to power their barriers via methods externally accessible via sufficient violence.
Is it me, or the reveal weirdly lacked party-based combat? It showed only Rook fighting, which is fine, I guess, but I love DA as tactical party-based RPG. Would have loved to see, you know, tactics?
They said that you'll be able to control them later in the game, but if it wasn't an extremely gimped party control then they would have showed it off in the gameplay reveal lol. Would bet my life on them basically being auto attack bots who you can command to move places and to use a special ability every once in a while. Same reason to only show off low level combat so people don't realise all those slots on the ability wheel will actually be filled with consumables and shit and not active combat abilities
@@elethys9903 Which isn't the worst thing, I just wish they would make procedural differences on the iconic base look. Fighting demons that look identical takes a little bit of the magic away.

@@Th3.S3cond-Son Solas looks incredible. I'm a little torn on Varric. On one hand he looks matured, on the other he looks...like a washed-up rock star?
@@SkiesTurnedGrey to be fair "washed-up rock star" seems very becoming of varric's personality lol, but I agree. It's a drastic change from what we're used to of him
pretty sure those pillars we pushed over were seals of two of the elven gods locked behind the veil, you know, the monstrous ones that enslaved millions of sentient beings, and mass sacrificed them in rituals to their glory that Solas lead a rebellion against and created the veil to stow away.
Makes me sad that these people keep redesigning shit in dragon age despite some of the first designs being perfect, its like if they redesigns the aliens races in mass effect every game.
im hoping its just like this as it early stages in the game, dont like that only you do the damage, whats the point in having a party if they do nothing at all, may aswell be fable
Also the combat looks horribly boring. Fighting against melee NPCs and there's no parry, no counter attack, just reaction to the character's offensive attacks until they die. Major yawn.
Not to mention this same lv1 dude with a basic sword, flipping about 30 feet side-to-side to dodge literally every single attack and reflecting lightning with his shins as he does so. I'm a bit disappointed but, hopefully most of these things that seem like poor writing/executions can be explained and/or changed/adjusted before launch.
It's because this game is an A"RPG" that will actually just be a hack and slash, lol. Your teammates aren't there to be meaningful members of your party that you'll build like the prior 3 games. They're there to make it seem like they're helping when you'll just be doing all the work like any run-of-the-mill action game.
Some hints on the screen is not showing party health or status. They're just simply there. I bet you won't have to craft gear or select skills for them. Just set pieces.
I’m hoping that this is just a watered down version of the gameplay and graphics. I thought I’d maybe only have to download a few fun cosmetic mods but now…
I'm afraid it won't get any better than this... They released one graphic of a new ogre, it has a completely new model, it looks like something out of a mobile game, it's not scary at all, it's actually goofy... The change in vibe is really disappointing.
So, I’m guessing the Inquisitor didn’t tell everybody Solas can turn people into stone just by thinking about it. Not sure why Varric would ever want to directly confront this guy.

I was so impatient to discover the new DO that I cannot descrive you my disappointment. Years to wait, minutes to cry. What are you doing ? Are you loosing your mind ?
Why is Solas acting alone? Where are all his agents? Trespasser ended with thousands of elves swarming to his side, so they must be somewhere? Hopefully?
If I had to guess, they are somewhere safe. Solas knows the ritual will have dire consequences for the world, wouldn't make much sense to have all of his followers so close to the ritual, they'd all die lol
My guess? He told them to stay somewhere safe and far away because he knew that the ritul site will be swarm with demons. For all his bold claim about sacrifying lives for greater good, I don't think Solas is the type to waste his own people needlessly if he could avoid it.
Look, I know this game has been plagued by dev issues, changing concepts and whatnot, to figure out what will bring most money and to be honest, it doesn't look as bad as everyone made it out to be but you already have a winning formula for this game - why fuck it up? Dragonage became popular because it wasn't dumbed down for mass audiences and that attracted even a large portion of the mass audience that prefers simple games most of the time. -You had a system to setup what your companions do -You had a great story -It was an RPG - not an Action RPG -You had a good amount of skills -You had a story with lasting consequences You saw baldurs gate basically use your formula and be a bombastic game. All we wanted was dragon age game with a bit of updated mechanics, more control and customization of companions, a good continuation of the story and be able to play the campaign in co-op(optional but would have been an amazing feature).
Probably the higher up having stupid idea and force it to the dev thinking it will be a great idea also EA "We need more target audience so lets make the game more colorful " "Oh no the gameplay is too complicated let's make it a mindless hack and slash instead so everyone can play it" " The game must be ready at this date I don't care if you cut most of the content or it's still full of bug"
Yes. My largest observation too. RPGs need to follow CD Project Red's lead and get away from Bioware's classic ping-pong dialogue. That said, this is only the intro/tutorial area, so we'd have to see when you deal with the average NPC and traditional dialogue - I assume most of that will still be ping-pong.
people upvoting and replying to an obvious bot comment as if its a real one...classic. if thats the average iq of the modern day dragon age fan and biowares target audience then boy am i not looking forward to 2025 AAA gaming space. also smells real fishy how many of these obvious bot comments are "liked" by the channel. you okay bioware/ea? youre that afraid of feedback, you get a bunch of bots to combat the dislike ratio?
That isn't what happens though. There's a visible shield around the gem until the mage is killed EDIT: They could have maybe played the line a little earlier or said "the mage is holding up a barrier, we need to kill them" or something, but it isn't just "walk up to the gem, stab the gem and walk through"
I like the look of the new rage demons (I'm assuming the flaming ones are rage) but yeah, other than those they all look like ghosts with the floating without legs and a robe look to their aesthetic
"I lay in dark and dreaming sleep while countless wars and ages passed. My people fell for what I did to strike the Evanuris down, but still some hope remains for restoration. I will save the Elven people, even if it means this world must die." ~Solas, Trespasser.
because people got tired of muddy muted colors on everything, responded very well to a handful of games using bright colors and so now every game is doing bright colors

-You had a great story
-It was an RPG - not an Action RPG
-You had a good amount of skills
-You had a story with lasting consequences
You saw baldurs gate basically use your formula and be a bombastic game.
All we wanted was dragon age game with a bit of updated mechanics, more control and customization of companions, a good continuation of the story and be able to play the campaign in co-op(optional but would have been an amazing feature).
Devs: But you aren't allowed to have nice things... and don't forget. Everything must be made for the "modern audience".
Someone make this the pinned comment
I don't feel the dragon age classic aura anymore.
I agree, it looks pretty good but this isn't the Dragon Age I wanted.
Probably the higher up having stupid idea and force it to the dev thinking it will be a great idea also EA
"We need more target audience so lets make the game more colorful "
"Oh no the gameplay is too complicated let's make it a mindless hack and slash instead so everyone can play it"
" The game must be ready at this date I don't care if you cut most of the content or it's still full of bug"
I like how the dialogue wheel just blends into the cutscene rather than everyone standing still doing nothing but talking.
Yeah, yo no quería decir nada por miedo a los ataques de los defensores pero hemos visto mejores implementaciones de las pausas para diálogos.
@@SlickMajesticdo you mean like the shot/reverse shot? (Like the camera movements)
No I like making screenshots of the gang standing there in a group, no thoughts just pretty
It would be amazing if in 2023 it would be different, and we would continue to observe bug-eyed dummies
“and here i thought we’d be ass deep in demons forever” inquisition varric, im contacting you from the future, you will be.
between this and his 'pulls a dragon out of his ass' comment about Corypheus in DA2, I say Varric is actually a prophet and just doesn't know 🤣
This comment has me rolling 💀

people upvoting and replying to an obvious bot comment as if its a real one...classic. if thats the average iq of the modern day dragon age fan and biowares target audience then boy am i not looking forward to 2025 AAA gaming space. also smells real fishy how many of these obvious bot comments are "liked" by the channel. you okay bioware/ea? youre that afraid of feedback, you get a bunch of bots to combat the dislike ratio?
Varric definitely gets Obi-Wan'd immediately after this.
I have no idea what this means, and I've seen every Star Trek movie

Seems a likely outcome lol
Don't put that out into the universe! I need to believe he comes out ok 🥺

I loved the part the Mage went: "Im a Mage" and then Maged all over Solas
Stunning!

seems like the demons went full tron on us.
I think its more the demons maybe straight out of the fade?
I hope that isn't the design ^^;
@@HackersSunlet's not cope, that is the design.
The developers went on a shrooms bender. Everything's gotta pop now^^
That's exactly what I said!!
devs have some purple/violet color fetish, purple this, purple that
The "barrier" are destroyed by slicing a gem or touching the barrier itself. Doesn't sound very useful.
That isn't what happens though. There's a visible shield around the gem until the mage is killed
EDIT: They could have maybe played the line a little earlier or said "the mage is holding up a barrier, we need to kill them" or something, but it isn't just "walk up to the gem, stab the gem and walk through"
Solia estar triste por pensar que la saga estaba muerta... Ahora desearia que se quedara muerta que ver en lo que se ha convertido.
Remember when Solas killed all those people on the Death Star?
I was there 3000 years ago
That was in a galaxy far far away.
I thought it was Stunning and Brave.
Turly for a modern audience
nahh I'm pretty sure it was Anakin -some worker at Acolyte
Why would they change the look of the demons SO drastically? They look less intimidating this time around.
Marketing and demographic safe play, also pg13 reach more audience i guess.
I like the look of the new rage demons (I'm assuming the flaming ones are rage) but yeah, other than those they all look like ghosts with the floating without legs and a robe look to their aesthetic
The OG pride demon design was so great. I can’t believe they’ve ruined it 🥲

I still wish I could have sided with him and take all of Thedas down.
Wouldn't all the elves die too?

So in a game about blood mages… there’s no blood?
Squeamish blood mages.

Why is every monster neon in games now?
DEI colors
because people got tired of muddy muted colors on everything, responded very well to a handful of games using bright colors and so now every game is doing bright colors
