I am speechless. I don’t even think Nebraska has lost a game like this before 😨
This team was ranked, too.
Give it time, they’ll pull that too.
As a Nebraska fan please we’re trying too not do that anymore 😂
Why we catching strays like that
You just gonna ignore that Chaneys elbow was down before the fumble?
This might possibly be the stupidest way to lose a game this entire season. There’s just no way that it gets topped.
Not just this season bro, all time
I'm not remotely exaggerating when I say this is the stupidest way to lose that I've seen *ever.*
@@nuraby_9228 Yep, they played UNLV when that happened. That play and the Miracle at the Meadowlands was what helped establish the victory formation.
Iirc, a long time ago when Baylor was a really bad program (I think it was Baylor), they lost a game when they fumbled a handoff instead of kneeling for the win and the other team recovered, and then vs the same team the next year in the same situation, they went for the kneel but botched the snap, the other team recovered and Baylor still lost the game. 🤣
@@protodg6567 nah this is muuuuch worse. This is a 100% secured victory if you just knee. Theres still a chance marshawn gets stopped (even tho he won’t).
Instead of winning the game, Mario Cristobal decided he want to be known as the dumbest coach in college football.
He already was
He makes Napier look like a genius, that's for sure.
$20 Million for the players on the roster and this is what we get? If we are going to pay so much for players we need to also pay for a good coaching staff
Yes. Totally the dumbest ever
Ikr😂
This is what we live for as a tech fan. Losing to god-awful teams, and then, doing this to an undefeated one
You didn’t do anything Miami is brain dead
It’s actually kinda ridiculous how often this has happened in the last 10 years
Factual.
I can only imagine what the end of this game felt like to you all. Most people are talking about the ridiculous mistake of Miami, but this is a legendary end for GA Tech
I would fire a coach over this!!
We’ve all imagined something just like this happening at the end of a game, you never think you’re actually gonna see it.
I remember playing some game mode on madden where they had these "impossible" scenarios that happened in real life that you had to recreate, and it basically came down to pure luck on some of them, this would be one if they had the ncaa game still
Yeah I think Miami fans got a taste of what it sometimes feels like to be a Bammer at the Iron Bowl.
As a NE fan we saw this already. You guys have some catching up to do in the “dumbest losses at the end of the game where you should have won no matter what” category.
If you look up "snatching loss out of the jaws of victory", this sequence of events is described.
I felt so lucky to be watching. I never watch Miami but their coach used to coach the ducks and he skipped out on his contract (I'm glad now) screwing us over and I tuned in to watch him fail and want disappointed. Chef's kiss levels of failure😅
Only Miami would ruin their undefeated season and lose in this way
Them and Nebraska are really cursed. But Nebraska would never be undefeated at this point so yea just Miami 😂
Bordeaux my guy love your vids
Time for a miami rebuild
Cristobal should lose his job after that. That is a fireable offense.
Your Kentucky fan bro shut up
Christian Leary will NEVER forget that day/moment. I can imagine him telling his grandchildren “come watch this video real quick” lol legend 🙏🏽
All true and nice prediction, except for the "real quick" part. Those two words are time stamped in this era. In a few years everyone will know American public school teachers were told to push those two words, or "really quickly," on their students. Or else.
Why was this pushed? Because the vast majority of America's kids in the last few years bound for the factory or the cubicles, and not much thinking going on thereat. So the edict "Do task a little bit faster" sent down from on high, sent from those who breed us like cattle.
Think I'm wrong? Imagine a nurse telling a brain surgeon: "Real quick, Doc, cut into this patient's head." Do you want your brain surgeon to speed things up?
A coworker friend of mine heard this, and he retold the story of a friend of his requesting to "Real quick, say grace." Like God has other things to do besides listen to your prayers. "Let's go," said the Supreme Being. "We're loosing daylight."
And I know it's spelled "losing" but I prefer the internet (mis)spelling.
@@tarico4436
Real quick now, tell us what kinda drugs you're taking!
Gotta be taking something with a rant like that.
"Just take a knee, you should not be handing this football off."
It was over after that.
1 minute 18 seconds on the clock facing a 2nd down after Georgia Tech used its last timeout. If I’m the quarterback in that huddle, I’m taking a stand and saying “Screw what you just called, I’m taking 2 knees, and if you want to bench me for doing the right thing, then you’re just not a great coach.”
Yup. Gotta take that route.
They could have taken a knee on first down as well. They got a 1st down, clock still running with under 2 minutes to play. Georgia Tech's last time out isn't going to be enough. Three kneel downs is all it takes.
TVD feckless lol
That the correct, old school, way quarterbacks used to be. "Screw that, I wanna win". That said, this loss is all on Cristobal
Facts why didn't he call a auadible
"What did you think of your coach's execution?"
"I'm in favor of it."
Love when that security guard shakes the coach’s hand even though coach was obviously coming for his assistant coach’s hand😂
He was looking the guard dead in the eyes when he reached for the guards hand... They do that literally all the time. That guy is the coaches best friend post game.
@@Bleedblue6487 and I believe that is a Georgia State Trooper that is part of his security detail. 'Security Guard' makes him sound like Paul Blart or something.

Not only did Miami blow it with the fumble but then the defense does the one thing you can’t do in that scenario which is let the receiver way over the top
THEY NEVER SHOULDVE RAN THE BALL TO BEGIN WITH. Georgia Tech had ZERO time outs and Miami had at least 2. It they ran into a situation where not enough time would run out then they could've used a time out went back out and restarted the clock, take a knee and it's done.
It wasn't a fumble
@@doggy255Incorrectly called, probably. But who cares, why the hell would you ponder running any play other than a simple kneel is beyond my ken.
@@doggy255 doesnt matter lmao. original call was a fumble and they could not see where the ball came out on replay, they HAVE TO stick with the original call.
@@ZackJonesGT…wrong call. You can clearly see his ankle is dragging on the ground before the ball comes out.
I know this was a huge mistake on Miami. But credit where credit’s due. Georgia Tech still had 80 yards or so to go in 25 seconds with no timeouts and still pulled it off. Crazy game.
Ain’t no credit that was sheer stupidity
Just like when chiefs had 13 seconds left . And sure enough they sent bills home .
Defense was shell-shocked like the rest of us lol
Well, I mean, Miami's entire coaching staff has a combined IQ of 7 so it can't be that hard
As a Tech fan, I had no idea they had that in them lol. I was hollering like a maniac when the game ended
Lmao love the GA Trooper with that firm ass handshake and backslap walking off the field. Deep in the thick of the night in south Florida💀
I have seen a lot of good and bad sports in my time, local and national. I've watched games won and lost, by teams and individuals I cheered for and others I despised, in ways unconventional, inexplicable, unpredictable, shocking, and amazing, often all at once. And I've been a sports fan since the 2000s, with a strong interest in highlights going as far back as recorded audio, video, and newspaper accounts can go. I do not exaggerate when I say: this is THE dumbest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Bar. None.
Exaggeration. The Miracle at the Meadowlands was the OG version of “why in God’s name are you running a play while ahead with less than 30 seconds left and your opponent can’t stop the clock?”
I 2nd that. It looked like a Key & Peele skit.
@@alejandrobarboza2004 Brent Key and Peele apparently
Yep
I guess this is why it makes sense for losing teams to still call a timeout even at the end when it seems hopeless- the other team just MIGHT do something stupid and give you the ball back
Yup. It ruins the mental rhythm of the offense and breaks up the drill - and means you can sub in a fresh defender or two if the opposing team does a last second swap. Sometimes it's petty and hopeless, sometimes you have a chance to capitalize on a mental mistake.... like Tech did.
But heck. Even Mark Stoops took the knee at the last play down a hopeless 51-13 yesterday, rather than risk a last second injury on an already seriously banged up offense.
Except ion this case Georgia Tech was out of timeouts. You take a knee and the game is over.
Exactly
Yep. All about increasing your chances of winning, even if those chances at the moment are slim to none
@@chriskay1449 Interesting, that if Tech doesn't score, they might have gotten roasted for not throwing the ball into the endzone, because they would have run out of time if the receiver didn't score.
I can't believe this. I switched to other games once Miami got the first down and GT was out of time outs. It wasn't until I saw the score on the bottom line that I found out what happened. Unreal. On top of the fumble, that was absolutely atrocious defense on the last drive.
I mean, even a casual football fan knows to just take a knee in that situation. How can a coach at a major college program not know? That's simply inexcusable.
I don't blame Miami defense players. They didn't expect themselves to get on the field again!
@@michaeldoesfunstuff4992 true, though they should know to keep everything in front of them, especially the safeties. Even so, that's also on coaching, to make sure they are properly positioned as well.

@@casperthegm741The other question is how did he not learn his lesson from the last time this happened.
Everyone talking about how stupid Coach Cristobal is for running instead of taking the knee and they’re right but how about giving credit to 13 & 14 of Tech for seizing the opportunity. 14 made a GREAT play by holding the runner up not letting him fall and 13 made a hell of a play to rip the ball out 😂😂 I love it

@@g-mode5047and don’t forget the Miami defense turning into Swiss cheese by letting up 80 yards in 20 seconds
Couldn't have happened to a better team! GO TECH!!
They say no one play can get somebody fired. But THIS is an exception. Mario Cristobal should be shown the door for this. Even rec-league coaches, to do the job for FREE, know to always take the knee.
Yup. No one wants people losing their jobs but ummm......this is THAT reason for him to lose his job. Like right meow. Damn.....🖖🇺🇸🇨🇦🌎
Seriously. Call a t/o with one sec on the play clock if you’re confused to get on the same “take a knee” page but do not run the ball. Dumbest decision I’ve seen in a long time.
I thought Mario was UM savior all of the hype and happiness the fans had when he arrived. Now you all want to fire him. Smh!!
@@emancipateurmind7211He just made one of the biggest coaching blunders in the history of college football. The *history* of college football. He will never live this down and will never be a great coach, sorry bout it. This play will follow him and Miami forever. He shouldn’t be a head coach.
I can think of 1 play that should've gotten Pete Carroll fired from Seattle
You lead by 3, on 3rd down with under 40 seconds to go, and your opponent has no timeouts. You take a knee, and the game is over. That was the single worst coaching decision in the history of football, Miami deserved to lose that.
And they get paid millions of dollars. Lmao

@@MrHongleberryMario did this at Oregon and this person has an Oregon Ducks logo in their PFP, they know from firsthand XD
@@nerdstop5025you are correct, i still remember the pain of 2018 vs stanford 🥲
THIS IS NOT MARIO'S FIRST TIME:
(2018)
With Oregon leading 31-28 at home and the ball near midfield, Cristobal could have had Herbert kneel to run the clock down to 16 or fewer seconds before punting. (Stanford had one timeout left.)
Instead, he had CJ Verdell run on 2nd-and-2. The call looked entirely reasonable at the moment, but the redshirt freshman fumbled. Stanford took possession with 51 seconds left and drove to the tying field goal as time expired. The Cardinal won 38-31 in overtime on Colby Parkinson’s juggling touchdown catch and Alameen Murphy’s interception.
so damn happy cristobal is out of oregon
That is insane he gotta be investigated at this point there’s no way someone does this by accident
What are the odds I feel Mario us bad luck dawg😂
That wasn’t really Mario’s fault. A lot of bad things can happen on a punt (e.g. MSU-UM). I didn’t blame him for wanting to end the game there by getting 2 yards.
Tonight was EGREGIOUS. This is ALL on Cristobal and the OC.
How did he not learn from that?

I’m a Kentucky fan. Dawson the OC was with us a year or 2. He was crazy and fans didn’t like him. He once said “I’m a really good offensive coordinator if i actually had a decent QB”. Even if it’s true, you don’t throw your kids under the bus like that
My favorite part about watching this game live was the fact that one of the announcers didn't even realize the opportunity to get into victory formation until just seconds before Miami's final run. It was honestly a glitch in the matrix.
This is a statistical anomaly
Uh he did realize
They did realize it lol at 1:25
@@Bubbles088Yeah but live they were doing the math out loud just seconds before the video footage started. You would think that with it being second down with under 80 seconds remaining there would be no need to run a play.
They're announcers. That isn't their job. It IS a coach's job however. Not sure why you think they didn't realize though, they talked about it. 🤷🏼♂️
Classic Cristobal. Great recruiter, gets good coaches around him, clueless in the 4th quarter. Did the same thing with Oregon and Stanford forced a fumble and won the game on a fg
yep as a oregon fan his coaching was questionable alot that Stanford loss still hurts
Cristobal doesn't hire good coaches...Good coaches don't want to be on his staff because of his personality.
So glad he left and we got Lanning. Two of the worst coaches Oregon ever had both ended up in Florida and they can keep them!
@@joshtutor5606Dawson is a good offensive coordinator
And even though they won the Ohio state game, he tried to clock manage himself out of that win too
I've recently been watching a lot of GT highlights from the years I was a student (2012-2016). But I have to say, this was probably the craziest game to watch.
It happened at Oregon too with coach Cristobol vs Stanford
The best part was that the announcer's comments weren't just hindsight. He was commenting before the fumble that they ought not to be running the ball.
Of course it’s not hindsight… anyone that understands basic mathematics understands that any 3 second long play will end the game
How did 56 people even like this? That many people need this explained to them?
Because everyone who knows football knows this
There was literally no reason to run the ball that last time
Bro, go touch grass. It’s not that big of a deal.
And GT didn't even have to score on a Hail Mary, it was just blown coverage.
Y’know there is a reason why The Miracle at the Meadowlands is historically considered one of THE worst football plays of all time and here we are all this time later with coaches not learning from it and wanting to repeat it.
“I DON’T WANT a two-yard LOSS on our statistics!!!!”
miracle at the meadowlands is the first thing that came to mind, how the hell did it happen again
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME...unless you're Miami, apparently.
Yep, same here. First thing that came to mind for me too. Just... wow
I believe at the time (1970s) kneeling wasn't common place and there was a real chance that perhaps the play would be blown up, the refs would call some BS, etc. so just running it up the middle was the norm at the time.
Fired in the morning!
Runner's elbow was down before the football was stripped but running when you could have knelt leaves you open to the officials making that call.

Reminds me of the Auburn 2013 Chris Davis kick-6, but instead of taking one play to score, Georgia Tech pulls off the miracle off three plays (fumble, pass to midfield, and the deep throw to Leary).
Amazing. Miami (previously 5-0) was in the midst of reviving their program - which didn't take place as of this past Saturday night
this will be massive hit to recruiting, especially considering the press conference after. who would want to play for this guy now? if Miami is smart they will cut him loose immediately.
So many times, all a qb has to do is take a knee, to run the clock out; so stupid, and see it often; many years ago, in the nfl giants lost a game, with a lead and :30 seconds to phila, when all the qb had to do was take a knee; instead, handed off, lead to fumble on the same play, and disaster. Coach has to pay for this.
@@4736dmr Yes, I understand. But give Georgia Tech credit. They can be a sleeping giant. A powerhouse back in the 1950s and 1960s with Bobby Dodd, Georgia Tech can surprise teams even now and then.
Are they in the same category with Frank Beamer's Virginia Tech? I don't think so. They've never had sustainable success over a stretch of seasons.
However, they did throttle powerhouse Auburn and Cadillac Williams in 2003 by the score of 17-3. Reggie Ball led Tech that day.

When I see the name Taggart....it makes my blood boil!🤬 The worst hire in FSU history. He couldn't coach for 💩
@@CarltonBeckfordDozier66 I think of Blazing Saddles.
Notre Dame did something like this @ home against Northwestern in 2014! Up 3, had the ball in NU territory, NU had no timeouts w 1:30 remaining. ND runs instead of kneeling, fumbles, NU scores and wins in overtime. Incredible.
i doubt you meant to do this but u timestamped 1:30 which so happens to be the start of the disastrous play in the video 🤣
Oh, that just makes me smile. LOL
Yes, a bonehead move by the Miami HC. However, how the refs call a fumble after the obvious review that easily shows the RB was down was nuts!
Shit set up from the jump. No reason to run dat play. Obvious that he was down. You can even see the refs face cringe as he swallows his own bullshit after saying ”The ruling on the field stands”
Moot point. You don't get to fight the refs after your bum coach called the worst play in FBS history. Mario Cristobal even had the balls to call out the kid that fumbled. Really? " We teach two hands on the football!" Unacceptable in my opinion!
@@AM-en9td I thought I said it was a bonehead call? ….I didn’t watch the press conference, but no doubt throwing the kid under the bus is also ridiculous by the coach.
@@AM-en9tdbut it should have been overturned and if it is called correctly, no one is complaining.
Definitely down. But DEFINITELY bonehead playcall. HC fault 100% for putting his players in that position. Let's not forget they ran the ball (same kid) how many times consecutively? What is this (HC) guy doing!? Smh
UNC and Drake Maye were poised to try and end Miami’s undefeated season but Ga Tech and Cristobal said not so fast 😂
I know what it's like to choke close games (trust me I'm a Nebraska fan)
But THIS, this is a special kind of suffering that has been unleashed upon the Miami fan base, you will remember this for years.
Nebraska: Nobody will ever top us
Miami: Hold my beer
Way to go Georgia Tech! Haynes King beat Miami! Who would have thought it possible?
This ending had me lose brain cells… I can’t imagine the pain of Miami fans D-:
Ah yes, all 12 of them at the stadium were very sad fans
With the amount squealing and trash thrown on the field I have a feeling there were more than 12 💀
Believe me us fans stay at home BECUASE of performances like this. Miami is a big city with way better things to do then go watch Miami choke a victory
@@tonylong2230fair weather
Miami needs to move out of a pro stadium and look into getting a smaller college stadium to get some kind of atmosphere going. Even when they’re winning Canes home games are soulless.
Imagine betting on GT and then seeing this happen.
Imagine betting on Miami 🤯
Miami was favored by 19 points so GT was easily covering the spread no matter what, but yeah the money line bettors on GT musta been thrilled!
Is it possible yet to bet on a team real-time?
For example, two plays before Miami fumbled, they were probably a 90% chance to win. So if I had stupid odds for GT to win, and bet would that of been possible?
@@-phenom-GT is such a weird team. They upset UNC in a similar game while huge underdogs but they seem to lose a really weird game like Bowling Green too. They got destroyed in that BGSU game and turn around and do this
@andrewblakeslee8709 dude exactly apparently that's just the life of a gt fan
You play to win the game. Very miracle at the meadowlands style ending
Kind of reminds me of the Miracle at the Meadowlands way back in 1978.
This is the type of loss that literally destroys program credibility from recruiting to the locker room... and prevents them from ever taking that next step under this head coach!
The coach just sealed his fate with the Miami Hurricanes even if it's a year or 2 down the line!
Yep I mean look at the Miami player at the end throwing his helmet off. They know they should've won the game and the head coach who's paid millions of dollars lost it. Yea you can say the defense should've stopped them....true but they never should've been in that position to begin with. Sad part is Cristobal did this 4 years ago with Oregon and got the same result. Makes you wonder is he really this stupid or did he just get paid some damn good money to do this.
Very well said had they stayed undefeated. Recruiting class gets better but just like you said they see a stupid ass mistake like this. What the hell is that coach thinking
@@tigergirlkitaCristobal has always had trouble with clock management, *espeically* at the end of games. Also, I think Miami just got cocky/greedy and it bit them in the ass.
I like the point you made about how Miami should have never been in that position. People can blame the defense or say the fumble should have been overturned, but Miami should never have had 4 turnovers. Ultimately, a win or loss is the summation of an entire game, not just a single moment that changes the direction of that game.
@Michael-on3ku EXACTLY - well said.
I roll my eyes every time a fan tries to pin down a loss to *one* play (or a coach in this case; Cristobal petitioned the NCAA after this game, whining about the called fumble). Miami had _multiple_ chances to put this game away, but instead allowed GT to keep it close until a couple missteps were all it took for GT to steal one on the road.
Clearly, GT was the better team that day, and they deserved to win this game.
@@ScrewFlandersno bro. U take a knee and it’s over. I usually agree to things not coming down to one play but if you take a knee it’s over.
Can’t wait to hear it the radio call.
Trust me as a tech fan. A win like this is nice.
Edit: I posted the radio call
Good win for y’all! Georgia Tech hasn’t had this big of a win since NC last year and FSU 2015!
You should feel guilty for stealing 😂😂😂
@@Sport-bq5hm I was behind Paul Johnson after that field goals return. I have brace face & look like a fetus
Especially after last week this felt euphoric. The bowl game dream is still alive! (As sad as that sounds)
This team will never recover from this
That's a fireable offense!
Wow. In the words of Jack Buck, for entirely different reasons, "I can't believe what I just saw". The Georgia Tech WR who caught the winning pass, almost pulled a Desean Jackson by sliding to early and almost went feet first. Could you imagine if the marked him short? He got it no question, but that would have been interesting.
That would have been embarrassing to come up a yard short because you decided to slide.
Look at me, look at me , look at me generation.
I don't think he decided to slide, the field was very slippery all night, and he was off balance from the catch.
Saw that too. He almost went down too early. That would have been the 2nd worst play of the game.
Nah, the ball was over. Not even close.
I never thought I’d see a worse coaching decision at this level than Les Miles not getting the kicking unit on the field and just letting the clock expire…but this is infinitely worse. This will never be topped - we’ve just witnessed the dumbest coaching decision in college football for all time
Billy Nappier, the Gators head coach, enters the conversation, & it looks like he's holding a beer & looking around...
@patrickdavid3523 that's pretty funny
@drewwilson6639 thanks Drew, there's always a tinge of truth that makes something funny. And as a Gators fan, I'd rather laugh than cry
Wow I can feel for the Miami rb and the whole team and fans, this hurts for me to watch it. This is so sad!!!
Wow! Unbelievable. This is going to hurt for awhile.
I was watching the final quarter of this game pretty intensely, watching king throw that pick late was a heart breaker. Went away to continue watching Caleb vs arizona, came back and saw the face mask on 2nd and 5 and I face palmed and turned the game off. 5 minutes later I check the final score only to see 15 seconds left with the ball in HAYNES KINGs hands… throws an absolute dart for the game. Left me so confused as to how they got the ball back. They showed the fumble and I dropped to my knees.
Like Miami’s quarterback should have?
I don't understand who you were cheering for!
