The order of this list is entirely based on my opinion as no metric was used to rank the plays. Watch all eight minutes to relieve some of the funniest moments from this past college football season including West Virginia players colliding with each other leading to a fumble and Miami not taking a knee to seal the game against Georgia Tech. Let me know if there are any plays you would add to the list. Enjoy!

Wanted to do 25 plays but couldn’t find 10 more worthy plays so decided to just do 15 this year. What plays do you guys think could’ve been included that weren’t?
You should do top 100 plays of the season
every time devin leary touched the ball
dude threw away so many games now all of our road games this year are guaranteed Ls
Auburn going prevent on 4th and 31 is up there lol
Oregon State's fake field goal vs Arizona
Alabama calling a qb draw on 4th down against Michigan in the Rose Bowl
We all knew #1 without hitting play 😂😂😂
and what is that
Maybe u can watch the video and find out?@@jimbo9208

@@jaybrown7811 🤣🤣🤣
It was on the thumbnail too
The fact that Mario Cristobal went with running the ball instead of just taking a knee still baffles me to this day
Not only that, but he’s never taken a knee to end any game leading up to losing to GT all season regardless of how much they were winning by. He’s just a stupid game manager
Cristobal is a failed FIU coach that somehow managed to fail upwards
Why? He did the same thing at Oregon. He’s a terrible game time coach.
Also granted Georgia Tech a bowl game after a 4-year drought
2023 was full of lolcows.
Mario Cristobal was more than just a lolcow of the week…….
He’s Lolcow of the Year in 2023.
And contender for Lolcow of the Decade too. Right up there with Bishop Sycamore and the Disaster in the Desert known as the (former) Arizona Coyotes. Oh, and the AFL 3.0.
There are self inflicted wounds, and then there is whatever Miami did.
a non-honorable football seppuku
That was more like self-inflicted amputation
We call that masochism
"Who knew that Sam Houston had a ghost defense and then to go in there and smack the football away"
Bro has me howling laughing.😂
I was looking for this comment 😂😂😂
SAME, funny commentator guy.
washington st one CRACKS ME up everytime , his controller died
Communication Error 😆
Yeah Devin Richardson (lolcow) who's somehow in Hawks camp, I suspect though only cause Mac was waiting to sign some UFL guys, they had plenty of dudes that could actually *play*
Virginia State dodged a bullet. Holy cow
A boneheaded attempt to put away the game DEEP IN THEIR OWN HALF, bailed out by a terrible snap. That final stretch was a comedy classic!
a 2-for-1 lol
Anybody astonished that after the boneheaded play to give Norfolk the chance to win...the guy didn't recover the bad snap and just go down?
He ran it all the way back...risking another fumble and craziness...even after KNOWING the risk of keeping the game alive...
😮
Jocks...
@@dclark142002 Crazy
This should’ve been the worst 😂😂😂😂
I still for the life of me can't comprehend why in the hell, with the game all but in the icebox, Mario Cristobal decided to run the damn football when all his team had to do was kneel down and they win. 'Chaney shouldn't have fumbled, it's his fault...', 'his elbow was down before the fumble...', yada, yada, yada, all the excuses you can name will never dissuade me from putting this excruciating choke job on the coach. You can't betray your team like that. That basically was a season killer; yes they made a bowl game, but Miami weren't the same after the choke to Georgia Tech.
They were undefeated at the time and had a favorable schedule ahead of them, if I remember correctly. Had they won against GT as they damn well should have, I can't imagine a much, much better outcome for the season would have been too far out of their reach
Damn you Mario Cristobal
@@PaleBlueDot14yep this is exactly how it went down. Good point - I think they win more games if they win this one. They were building momentum/confidence.
Hmmm... How close was Miami to the over-under on rushing yards?
@@quigonkenny I don't know the O/U pregame but I do believe Miami finished with 165 rushing yards total.
@@quigonkenny Had nothing to do with it; I don't think was still in play at that point.
Plus, Cristobal has a history of not taking knees when he should - there was an Oregon-Stanford game that went into OT under very similar circumstances when Cristobal was at Oregon
Proud of my CSU Rams being in this video back to back years 🔥🔥🔥🔥
yall actually going to be tuff this year
At least we had Mo and Holker go in the draft!
@@Savage-qk5fdno they ain’t, receiver core got gutted outside of Horton, no decent RB’s again, and defense will likely be questionable up front again.
CSU vs. UNLV had me about to crap my pants bro, CSU has some talent.
@@SteezySteez2011 not anymore they don’t lol, the only decent player from last year still on their roster is Tory Horton.
The Miami fumble vs GT gotta be number one. Literally snatching the jaws of defeat from victory
"Jawing the snatch of victory".
It's also not literally.
@Luke-uw6dpThey f-ed it up so bad it broke the figure of speech.
I don't know. After watching them all, that game with the quarterback running the ball out of bounds on 4th down to give the opposing team a chance to tie the game on a field goal just for the long snapper to send the snap into orbit seems even worse.
@@Whelmed. defeating the snatching jaws of victory
Honestly the Virginia State/Norfolk State one is the funniest. Dude runs out of bounds on 4th down to give the ball back for a chance to tie and then for some reason its 1st & 5 and then the snap gets botched. Peak comedy
Seeing Miami fuck up a win never gets old man
Lol😂
Coaching high school, #2 pisses me off more than anything else. You got a player who wants to show boat but doesn't take the time or have the attention to detail for the basic fundamentals. I told my players, if you score a TD, you celebrate after you hand the ball to the ref with his hands in the air and get back to the sidelines.
Dumbest, most selfish play in football. If I were a high school coach I would play this clip and then tell my players if you EVER do that, you're off the team. No questions asked.
Coaches really need to drill it into guys that, unless you are tackled, you carry the ball all the way out the back of the endzone and hand it to the official. I think offensive player are mostly coached to do this these days. It's defensive players (who obviously don't get into the endzone as much) who probably make this mistake the most.
Very true. There's way too many clips, even at the NFL level, where players do this idiocy.
The one time I scored a breakaway TD, I spiked the ball, but at least I was several steps into the endzone by then.
When i was in highschool i played DT. Dude had a wide open pick. Dropped it before he entered endzone thankfully i got it and ran it back in. Coach was livid. Next day he had buddy run from where he got the INT and into the endzone without dropping the ball for 20 reps everyday till next game. Dude never lived that down
Watching that Miami game live was so surreal. Not a single part of my brain understood what I was witnessing, it just made so little sense.
I'm a ducks fan so I was watching hoping dude would lose(he screwed us over) and I couldn't be happier with how that went🤡 he blew a game like this to an awful Stanford team as well. Screw Mario
Was so mad when Miami went up against GT and was JUST about to turn the game off but something deep inside me was like "this is Mario Cristobal. If anyone can figure out a way to still lose this game, it's him" so I left it on. When the fumble happened, I shit myself laughing so hard that my neighbor texted me to ask if everything was okay. Lmao,
It was insane. To make it even more insane, watch the WR that scores at the end. Watch in slow-mo and look when and where he slides into the endzone.
They could have marked him down just short if they wanted to. Half yard line and a running second to get up and snap it into probably a sneak IF you can get set and snap it in time. If they then didn't score you have maybe the biggest back-to-back moments of stupidity ever in CFB.
i realized some people truly fail upwards in life
I still want to know what exactly Miami’s head coach was thinking running the ball on a third down when the opponent had zero timeouts…
The best theory I heard is they had an RB just short of a 100 yard game and they wanted to pad his stats. Stupid stupid stupid.
I heard they were trying to impress players they were trying to recruit.
@@antoineharris2176 talk about a backfire. If I would no longer be considering Miami after that.
#1 might go down as the most brain-dead sequence in CFB history
if not that, the play where Florida lost to LSU because after they got the stop, the player threw an LSU player's shoe and gave them a first down.
@@justinhicks8096that was a players fault, Miami’s was a coaching fault which 10x worse. Coaches get paid millions to make simple decisions and they still choke
From a coach maybe. For me, the number 1 dumbest play in history was the Florida player that chucked the opposing running back's shoe 20 yards downfield. That penalty advanced the ball and allowed for the game winning kick. Why? Why would you throw an opposing players shoe down the field after it had come off? Did you think none of the seven officials would see that?!?
Oregon loves Miami for taking Cristobal away lol
I just knew the miami play would be first
@@Marxify1So rude!! Lol
You missed one but it was division II so I don't blame you. In September of last year a wide reciever from a school called Washburn University defecated on the 30 yard line through his pants. No one noticed until the very next play he was running a route and slipped on his own turd and tore his mcl, also smearing his uniform in shit in the process. And the replay showed everything in close up and the whole crowd was riled up in disgust. Probably the most embarrassing/disgusting thing I've seen in my 30 years of watching football.
I must see this now OMG
Go Ichabods!!
Do you have a link to it?
Can’t find anything about this online, we need proof
@@guaceldono7231 the proof is in the pudding
That Miami-GT game is one of the most braindead exhibitions of coaching I've ever seen. That's me not being able to find QB Kneel in the Madden Playbook when I was 6!
That UCF receiver bobbling the pass into an interception is just poetry in motion. Echoes of Kadarius Toney.
pain
when i saw it live i thought he pitched the ball.
UCF still won that game, nonetheless... :(
7:19 “bUt HiS kNeE wAs DoWn”
In all seriousness, how does one stay a fan of this program after whatever that was?
it’s Miami
they’ve been recovering for a decade now lol
his left elbow was down though. It wasn't a fumble and I hate Miami.
Even if he was technically down, that still deserved to be ruled a fumble and Miami deserved to lose this game.
Karma for Mario Cristobal. Fucking idiot
@@nickgoesvestmode Sadly, all that could've been easily avoided had the coach called for a knee to be taken. The coach cost them that game.
@@nickgoesvestmodecoach should’ve just taken the fkn knee instead
Also not having a Jeff Sims turnover compilation vs Colorado was a missed opportunity
It’s never too late to make this a vid. He also fumbled the ball in his first snap during the Purdue game😂😂
You know Georgia Tech had a good season when they are in this video twice and neither time were they the ones that made a bad play.
6:48 I SWEAR TO GOD THERE IS ONE OF THESE STUPID PLAYS EVERY YEAR!! WHEN ARE THESE KIDS GONNA LEARN
i hope that kid's scholarship was revoked as an example to the rest of the team. just too stupid for words.
Like he wasn’t even close lol
If I'm the coach and you do that, you're running stadiums after the game for that type of idiocy
@@oldfrendehh that’s a little harsh lol but I’d be sitting him at least a few games for sure
@@oldfrendyou think Tupatala should have lost his scholarship😂? Not a chance in hell.
I STILL do not understand how Cristobal still has a job.
Big buyout
“You did so much work to get your hands on the football as a defender and you want to get rid of it as soon as possible for some reason”
Coach always told me that if I ever got my hands on the ball never let go of it until the official or Jesus himself asks for it.
@@Bad_Gazpacho 😂😂 love that
it just explains why the player is on defense and not handling the ball fulltime.
6:24 Ah yes, the classic "Drop the ball before the endzone because you want to celebrate too early" play. You would think after MANY examples of this happening, it wouldn't happen any more, but...
Nope. Still happens. Still dumb. Still costly. Still facepalm worthy. Still not discouraged by literally anyone. What a pain in the brain.
I’d say number 6 isn’t necessarily a bad play. It was perfectly drawn up, just not executed at the end of it😂
Facts
Ty Simpson dropping the ball at the 1 after running 78 yards should be on here
As a Washington fan, I literally lost my mind when Tuputala dropped the ball
I know. It was definitely a lot worse in the moment cuz I was like what if this is the play that makes us miss the playoffs
Literally?
Fr. I had the unfortunate opportunity to see him drop the ball right in front of me by the student section. Thank goodness we still won the game after that
not only did he drop the ball at the 2 but his 2 buddies just ran by it so they could celebrate with him.
after utah did this years ago against oregon I like to think utah practices this play once a week
3:45 that’s some good sportsmanship #3 W
The penalty for "illegal kicking on the receiving team" has to be the most confusing combination of words a ref has ever used
1:56 the fact that #2 managed to chase down the ball carrier and get around two blocks is wild, that dude was determined.
Can't wait for more of this mess this fall. Love it.
Happy to see my Jackets on the good side of 2 of the 15.
Dam I can’t wait for football to start, been so burned out watching hockey and basketball
been watching these videos for years. good stuff thanks for all the entertainment mate
@7:43 I’ve obviously seen this play several times, but this time I really appreciate the GT LB #44’s effort! He falls on the ground below the RB and attempts to bicep curl him in an effort to keep him off the ground! You can really see the strain on his face. Obviously Miami were idiots, but hats off to GT defense and offense for capitalizing on the mistake.
Maximum Efford.
As a canes fan, that stupid play still hurts. Like why tf didn’t they kneel the ball 😭
Ikr
Rigged
That last clip is like when you playing NCAA with a friend and you get greedy
Can you do top 15 worst plays specifically by Iowa's offence next?
there's too many, it would have to be top 100
He’s back we love you PSC!
As a Miami fan, I knew that fumble would be #1. Im still bewildered, flabbergasted, disappointed and confused as fuck by that play
That virginia st norfolk ending was ridiculous
Those plays at #5 are pure chaos.
Also this is the best channel on RUclips, thank you very much
Nebraska fan here and as a fan of the only team on the bad end of this list 3 years in a row I can confirm next year is our year.
To be on this list again
I was at the Wyoming vs CSU game as my first ever college football game i went to, im so glad to see that play again. I was right at the endzone he almost scored in, such a beautiful game.
That pick from Purdy is what got him drafted so late. Funny stuff!!!
Virginia St- “I got a horrible play”
Norfolk St- “Hold my beer…”
The Boise State one made me laugh. I was at that game but had completely forgotten about that play. Still can’t believe we lost.
Me too
Very entertaining
As a Nebraska fan, I was happy to have only been on here once. There were certainly a couple other plays from last year that could have made the list!
Ah yes the DeSean Jackson Special. Love you DJax and I’m glad to see your legacy live on.
At least that didn't end up like Utah's Kaelin Clay (scoop 'n score).
2:00 that tackle by the TE (not too sure on positions) was actually so good for an offensive player
#3 WHOOPS 🤣🤣🤣
And with the UCF/BSU game, a similar play happened in the WVU/UCF game. I wonder if it was the same receiver that bobbled the pass in the BSU game..
As far as the OSU play, yeah, I'm so glad Wilson-Lamp left. That was one of the most bone headed plays I've ever seen.
Ryan Day actually did something KINDA similar to Cristobal when they played Notre Dame. They scored their game winning TD with one second left to go up 16-14. They should’ve just taken a knee on the point after because, although extremely unlikely like the Miami fumble, ND could’ve blocked the kick and returned it for a 2 point conversion to tie the game. Going up by 3 with the extra point is meaningless at that point because ND didn’t have anytime to kick a FG. Alas, no terrible miracles ever happen against Ohio State so this whole thought was moot, but it still was a dumb choice
The Virginia State vs Norfolk State one is amazing.
Can you just imagine how awesome Washington’s #11 would have looked after IMMEDIATELY dropping the ball in the end zone🤦🏻♂️
That Miami game is hilariously BAD🤣
As an Oregon fan who watched Mario leave in the middle of the night, that last clip made me feel warm and fuzzy. We dodged a bullet.
I was speechless after play #14. I was there live, it was just such an Aggie thing to do 😆 I wasn't even mad about it because it was just so stupid.
1:25 Hawkeye sez: Thanks for that. Fun fact: The ensuing, game-winning chip shot field goal was the last points Iowa would score for the season. We went on to get blanked by Michigan in the B1G Championship, followed by another blank in the Citrus Bowl against Tennessee. OC Brian Ferentz had already been fired weeks ago, but apparently decided to stay on and make sure there were no survivors when he really ran that plane into the ground.
“A lil mountaineer on mountaineer crime…” 😂
#12 is the reason why there should be a different stat for that kind of pick that was 100% on the receiver
I’ll bet the guy against Oregon, around the 50 second mark.. thought the wideout blocking down the field was a fight that had broken out 😂
I totally can't believe that dude (Devin Richardson) actually made a camp. He'll be out as soon as the Hawks sign a UFL dude or someone that can actually *play*
Cristobal's play calling was so bad not even Kaelin Clay 2.0 was enough to dethrone him 😂
Only one play by Nebraska made the video? There were more than a few to choose from.
These videos make me feel good about myself
Merciful to only have Nebraska on here once, there were a few "snap it while the motion man is between the center and QB resulting in a fumble" clips to choose from.
Why is the #2 play still happening? Why do guys throw it behind them? Why do guys not wait until they are in the endzone? It's painted for a reason! hahahahaha
I went to high school with #13 for Georgia Tech, Paul’s always been a dawg!!
We all knew what #1 would be, but I hadn’t seen most of the rest. What a great lineup of goofs. I was howling.
I was at that game and saw that play from the first row. You knew UNLV was going to be in this list somehow.
The announcer said “A ghost defensive end 💀😂” 3:00
Number 2. I was at that game and we were in that end zone and I thought it was a touchdown because my view got blocked. But my sister was with me and she noticed he dropped the ball and was screaming he dropped it. Crazy it didn’t cost UW because they got a safety the next play
As a Michigan fan I’m glad we had Stanford drop that pass against Washington
That Miami ending objectively strips the Hurricanes of their blue blood status.
As an Oregon fan…. Thank you from the bottom of oregons heart for taking cristobal 😂😂😂😂😂
The AUDACITY of that punt fake on #9 😂
I will always think of Cristobal as the biggest fool ever. Just absolutely inexplicable
South Carolina State has got to be one of the most poorly coached teams in college football. I started semi-following them 20 years ago after witnessing a couple hilarious blunders, and they never fail to disappoint.
I thought the hilarious blunders were a new thing from the last few years. I guess not lmao.
The Washington dropped football at the 1 🤣and Miami playcalling being well... Miami playcalling
Ahoy! I hope all is well. I wanted to send you a message one of my favorite parts about college football at the end of the game when the quarterback takes the victory formation QB kneel. I’ve always loved it something about it. You know, victory formation it means you know it’s Gatorade bath shower time it’s victory storm stadium. It’s just another win time, simply for some teams. For me and my (Auburn Tigers), it’s any win they get I’ll take, even if it’s a sloppy messy win (which often it is). I guess what I’m trying say is that I really just wanted to say how much joy this account brings to me and my college football obsessive mind 🏈. I like strategy, electric split offense, I like suffocating defense with 46 Irish blitzes. Not sure if any of this makes but I wanted to say thank you bringing great content to my feed.
If it possible for a suggestion. I would love to see a compilation of the best QB kneels victory formations. Like that play to me means “IT’S PARTY TIME”
Man that UNLV game was nuts. He had a wide open TD too.
Coach Odom (UNLV) took that player aside after the play and treated him with respect instead of degrading him.
Rebels are lucky to have such a good coach.
#1 was the acoustic of all acoustics.
1:31 is where you try to throw a bullet pass in retrobowl but one of the linebackers get and he is completely invisible
From an fsu fan, Miami player down before the ball came out, shouldn’t have been ruled a fumble, but it’s still hilarious to watch
A call of down would be rewarding Cristóbal for being stupid.
I agree it isn't right, but this is the result needed
As a fellow FSU fan, this never gets old and always brings a smile to my face
that virginia norfolk one kills me loool
After all the times number 2 has happened in the past, I am baffled that it still continues to happen!
@5:41 I laughed till I cried. Idk why but that slip was funny af to me. Straight off of the Three Stooges.
Poor guy
This emphasizes an important point....NEVER put stupid people on your team, no matter how "talented". They WILL melt when it matters.
The Georgia Tech-Miami game has become the College Football equivalent of the Miracle of the Meadowlands. The only difference is the Giants play occurred before the Victory Formation rule came into effect. This is just as bad as either spiking the ball on 4th Down when your team needs to score late in the game (Rutgers) or taking a knee instead of killing the clock (UW-Platteville).
That Miami play summed up hurricanes football for the almost 20 years I've been a fan
“a ghost defensive end”😂😂😂
#5 was a rollercoaster
great hustle to not give up by #2 on play #10
These plays are the nightmares you will relive decades later.
The funniest think is that wasn’t the first time Mario has ran the ball instead of kneeing and lost a game.
This was like a Mountain West Showcase...
I say it every time, a player that drops the ball before crossing the end zone to celebrate don’t get to play the game no more.
