- Wipers would come on and the rad fan would run at full. After chasing this problem, it turns out the power steering pump was causing it.

So your video has been the closest to what I have been experiencing in a jeep that I have. Traced the wiring, everything seems good. Unplugged wires at the electronic pump and at the star connector. Talked to another really good tech I know and he said the best way to be sure is to use a lab scope since it will pick up a lot quicker as opposed to a DVOM. Just wanted to get your opinion. Also thank you for the post, it really helped.
@@Terry-p4x I keep hearing more and more people say that these pumps have an internal fault which is reassuring, so far to date the issue has never come back and i am 100% confident that the pump was the issue no doubt. If I were you and have narrowed it down to the electronic power steering pump than I would just load test/short to pos/short to ground test the CAN high and low wires and then based on those results go ahead with the pump replacement.
@@Terry-p4x would be nice to just try a pump and see if it fixes it but they are so bloody expensive and not readily available that it’s not really a feasible option
That’s why I wanted to be sure about the repair. Not too many have an extra $1000 laying around. And don’t really want to get one from a yard as the same issue may reoccur. But thank you again for the info
Hi! I have similar problems. What are the parts numbers for the green and white can bus connectors shown in the glove compartment? Trying to find on Amazon or eBay but no luck…
This happened to me. All i did was replace the both Cbus (green and white) I got 14 codes, ABS light etc.
Did it fix the issue?
@@Tpizzle513 yes it did
One Question were is the Telematics Module located at on the 2023 jeep Gladiator ? I've gone crazy trying to find it. But no luck yet ?
The JL Mini allows you to clear the DTC codes from the steering wheel. I got it to change my gear ratio and tire size.
I have a 2020 gladiator sport that will not shift out of park, gear and all warning signs and codes come on so i took it to autozone to get engine code read and there were a whole list of errors. The main code was u0101 and solution suggestion was to replace transmission valve body, I dont have or know any trustworthy shops in town..its still driveable and hopefully wont leave me on side of road
My 2020 Gladiator has many warnings going off stop/start, power steering, won't let it shift out of park, fan on high speed, loss of communication and warnings to service shifter, service antilock brakes, etc... I will check this out, thanks
Sounds very similar! We did more videos on this same problem.
With the communication problems you have, change the green star connector behind the glove box door. Guarantee all your solder joints are cracked.
@@user-zz4js8je5c this one was fine, it actually needed the electric power steering pump. but i highly recommend diagnosing it before just throwing the star connector at it
@Tech-28 I don't believe you'll have a bad power steering pump give communication faults throughout almost every other module. The common denominator here is the connector. I highly recommend getting the magnifying glass out and having a closer look at the solder joints behind the plastic cover WHEN it comes back
@@user-zz4js8je5c replace whatever you want, I’m just saying this was the case for my customer that’s all, I’ve seen it all my friend
I have a 2004 dodge ram that is giving of a no bus before it said that it was just check engine light. now all the warning lights on. So i should check the module for voltage with multimeter and the one with greater voltage than 5 trace that wire to the sensor and replace part? Or is older vehicle different i dont think it has as much computers stuff as the gladiator.
Mine doesn’t go into full failsafe mode but I have no comm codes I have loss of power steering and air bag light on abs traction rad fan goes full blast and won’t let the truck into drive or reverse I can move the shifter but the indicator starts blinking now that said it’s every other time on initial start up and if I turn it off and back on a. Couple times the lights go away I regain power steering and off I go
Did this car have the symptom of having no power steering on start up? And and lost comms on everything low voltage charging ? Like on the dash sometimes it shows only 12.6-13.4 volts running and it goes up and down
Where could I get the wiring schematic like you have?
you could call a dealership near you and ask them to print one off for you. If they are nice they will do it.
Ok thank you
Okay, so what’s the fix?
Remove and replace electronic power steering pump in this particular case, your vehicle may be different
