This may be one of the biggest breakthroughs of your generation. People will look back on this like we do electricity. We are lucky to have you and all your team.
I have two reactions that I think would be interesting First, Imperial Age a guy and two girls with really good harmony Two, Whyzdom a true mezosoprano I think with a really classy metal sound
If you haven't already, you should check out Anneke van Giersbergen's vocals from the early days of "The Gathering". She has the voice of an angel. There's a ton of live footage on RUclips but IMO the "Poland 08.06.1997" performance is a good start. The opening track "Confusion" is a favorite but they all shine.
@@SadPuppySoup I really hope so, Puppy. I just want to change the world, and I see this opportunity and think, "that's it. Let's improve the lives of millions here by spearheading this research!"
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, Liberty_capss I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Most reaction channels are nothing more than "fame vultures", trying to parasite some views from the real artist. But Elisabeth, thanks to her musical nerdiness, is one of few who has a better idea of what the artists are actually doing than most of them have themselves. That makes this my very favorite reaction channel.
That's what really pulled me into this channel -- the anatomic analysis of how the structures in our vocal tracts influence and change the sounds we produce.
@@ollehogberg4368 indeed. I enjoyed watching people react to music I loved, but this channel is the only one I ever cared about continuing to watch because it was 100% genuine and she legitimately was into it.
You had me at the part of neurological studying on others. I had a stroke in 2019 where I lost my voice and obviously could no longer sing. I used to sing Opera and was considered a Lyric Soprano but since my stroke I'm slowly getting my singing voice back I have not had it tested but I believe I dropped to a Mezzo and still working on tempo. I believe that singing has brought my voice back. I couldn't walk, talk or even use utensils but I'm here today doing all that and more even driving but still never truly got my before voice back it's my whole life and the saddest part the only thing that I didn't get back. I will gladly fund this study and if you want I'm open to a subject of yours as well.
Wow, that sucks, but great work getting back what you've gotten so far. I had a similar experience of losing my voice and not getting all of it back. I spent over a month intubated in a burn ward in 1997. I think the gauge of the tube was too large because when I came off the vent, I couldn't speak or swallow. It took 2 months for me to be able to swallow anything, and over a year for my voice to sound right in my head. And I had been a singer in my youth. About 90% of my voice came back, but there are certain things around the edges I can no longer do (for instance, my falsetto is come and go at best and is effectively useless due to unreliability). I can only describe it as chronic partial vocal fold paralysis. If that description sounds like it fits you, you have my condolences.
@chrisd7047 In return much love and healing to you. What you described does sound similar im trying to retrain my breathing but it definitely not reliable but also my registry isn't as wide I've been singing church as well as choirs to NC Opera Play. I'm lucky I still have a taped session of me singing. I hope this funding that she's doing well help and I'd hop on the next plane to be tested I believe it's needed so much.
I suffered a very mild stroke when I was much younger, about 20 or 21 in the early 90s. I spent about a year relearning how to talk and walk and other things. Interestingly singing was a big step on the path to recovery. Before I could talk at all beyond monosyllabic partial words, one of my preferred pastimes was listening to music. Mostly classic rock & metal... Metallica's black album got a lot of play back then. One day I realized I was singing along to some of the lines. At the time, I didn't even know if I was ever going to speak again, so it was a pretty astounding experience. It still took a while before I was able to independently form actual sentences and such, but it had helped me to realize it was possible, and I think may have done something to the effect of helping to recover muscle memory or something to that effect. I don't know the academic side of these things as well as I would like, but I always like to share the experience when I see the topic, in hopes that maybe it may help someone else along their path to recovery.
@_Starhammer I want to wish you a very good recovery. You are doing great your typing and that to is progress! I love how the @charismaticvoice is looking forward to researching everything that encompasses vocal chords. This is an exciting journey
She said it! She's one of us now! Stay metal, Elizabeth. What I mean when I say it: Metal is hard and strong, but can adapt to be anything it needs to be, able to take the heat and take the cold, able to be bludgeoned and cut and still, what it is never changes.
@@TheCharismaticVoice Over the years we have slowly converted you to the unholy church of metal. We're happy to have you and your contributions have been absolutely wonderful!
@@TheCharismaticVoice I've always said that Metal is the music of extreme experiences. Everybody has extreme experiences, for good or bad, at some point in their lives, so the likelihood is that there'll be Metal they can relate to if they give it a chance.
@@yikes6263 I highly recommend the videos 'Metal Music Makes You Calmer? - Your Brain On Metal' by Beth Roars and 'Why metalheads are happier people' by DW History and Culture!
As someone who's been a metalhead since the Cold War, knowing that we're finally being taken seriously, and potentially changing history through extensive research, kind of brings a tear to my eye. I've always been proud of my metalhead "family" and culture. But now, it has even more purpose and significance. And to think that we may even someday be revered as "greats" in the company of opera singers. God damn, get me a tissue! I couldn't be happier for you, WIll, the vocalists on board, and all of heavy metal. Keep fighting the good fight!
it didn't "kind of" bring a tear to my eye - I'm bawling over here haha. I feel so validated knowing that harsh/distorted vocals have a place in the world and that they can help people. So many loved ones in my family looked down on me or made fun of me for being drawn to that style of music, so this is so meaningful to me to hear the progress Elizabeth has made with her research and how it can help people.
Yo, My daughter is 11, can sing opera and scream like a MoFo. My oldest daughter can sing contemporary, scream like a MofO and write stuff that I think will lead somewhere are she gets older. I am just glad my kids are being creative and not staring at a phone.
Major kudos to Will Ramos...that's amazing that he volunteered to be poked, prodded, and analyzed. I really hope this research explodes into advances in singing and voice.
Becauze of Will Ramos being so friendly with this channel It made me want to check out his band (i still haven't and Im kicking myself for it tbh) it's really not my genre but the way he holds himself is really cool and fun and it makes the jump into his music seem a lot friendlier, at least to me, to get into it.
I have met many singers over the last couple of decades. IDK what it is, but the harshe the music, the more chill the musicians in my experience. I was not a Lorna Shore fan, until my 15 year old (at that time) got in. Then everything I sen from the bad is just awesome guys.
I will say one big reason why I've stuck around with this channel for so long - almost 5 years now - is that your enthusiasm and excitement are just adorable. It warms my heart.. The fact that you're leveraging it into something that advances the world is just amazing. Thanks for being you. :)
I've just watched a 13-minute ad for a Kickstarter. And I'm hella glad I did. Gossage would've loved to see this: "Nobody reads advertising. People read what interests them; and sometimes it’s an ad."
Hi Elizabeth. Your channel means a lot to me. I was diagnosed with PTSD a couple years ago, and it's been a turning point for me, a before and after event in my life. I've made a lot of progress in learning how to live with it, but I still have a hard time processing and letting go of emotions. When I get emotionally constipated I get a release by watching your reactions to the music that I've listened to for most of my life, classic rock, grunge, metal... To see your reactions to music that I love triggers something in me and brings tears and emotional release. Watching your channel is actually part of my safety plan. When you analyze the music with technical and artistic expertise it broadens my understanding and helps me appreciate the details of how an artist can take us on a journey with sounds and words. You've talked about the power of connections between people and how they are not only meaningful, but necessary for happiness. Thank you so much for helping me feel those connections! I hope it gives you a sense of pride to know you're helping others just by being yourself and sharing your life's passion. Keep on keepin' on, rock on, and fight the good fight 🤘🎶👩🎤
This is a testament to what happens when you just let life unfold instead of trying to bend it to your plans. You chose to go with the flow and now you have the ability to impact so many lives. It is truly powerful stuff
You should speak with my old vocal coach, Carla Thelen Hanson. She's also an opra singer like yourself & she teaches in Rochester, MN. This is also the home campus of The Mayo Clinic, so there's plenty of people (like myself) who've gone through traumatic accidents & illnesses that directly affect our voices. Carla loves to study her students when that happens to help us utilize what ability we still have. I was a tenor my entire life... UNTIL a car accident in 2009. Now, I'm a baritone-bass! Carla said my range dropped by one-third of an octave! Your efforts to help not just vocal students but accident/illness victims are so sorely needed & I, for one, am so happy, so grateful for your work. THANK YOU!!!
@kelleewolfe2834 You're correct. After my accident, I lost my falsetto but gained a much deeper range. Carla said it may be an effect of removing the sinuses that were irreparably damaged.😁👍🏻
I’m 65 and was completely uninterested in metal. Then my nephew steered me to Nightwish... That’s when I stumbeled in on this channel. Been a loyal follower since then. What you described in this episode, made me think of Star Trek... ”To boldly go where no man has ever gone before”.
Lt. Uhura, while being a multi linguist, a computer tech, and serving in the chain of command, was also a much admired vocalist. During her recreation time she often performed with Spock, who was a master of the Vulcan harp. Oh, I miss my service on the Enterprise. 😊
@raygunsforronnie847 I did not know that first piece of trivia, but knew that she was his wife and the computer until the more modern era, since she's passed. Although they did use some archived voice in some episodes of ST:PIC. The characters even make an in-joke about it. Plus she was Number One in the unaired pilot "The Cage" and of course Lwaxana Troi in TNG and DS9.
It never crossed my mind that I was witnessing a new frontier of science being explored and developed while watching that Will Video. I was just happy someone took harsh vocals seriously for a change.
This is exciting! My mother-in-law has a paralyzed vocal fold due to Parkinson's Disease, and I can see this research eventually helping to inform therapies for people like her!
Your channel inspired me to go from a fledgling bass player to adding backup vocals to eventually lead vocals in live performances over the course of about a year. Thanks Elizabeth!
I am the mom of a son who has prader willi syndrome. His voice /speech improves greatly when he sings. He can sing notes surprisingly well. I’d LOVE for this research to help those like my son who struggle with speech. I don’t know if it will but thank you for your passion and I’m so glad I’ve found your channel.
I was immediately drawn to your channel because you're often bursting at the seams with child like wonder, yet the technical understanding of a pro. It's really great to have a person like you to react to music we love.
Elizabeth, I feel so warm and fuzzy inside watching this. You are a great force for good in a realm I love so dearly. I am ever grateful for your presence and so excited to be behind you on your incredible endeavours. 💜
I was hoping the only person who watched Tatiana, spat out her tea, then .. copied her flawlessly .. was going to show up! I'm sure a London clinic could set up a Zoom call and join in the fun?
Most videos with titles like this mean that the channel is saying goodbye. I waited for the last second to make sure this wasn't the case, before I liked the video. This all sounds so very exciting, and I am proud to have been a follower for these years!
Agreed, I was expecting "okay, I'm kind of finding the limits of the current course..." and got "Y'all ain't gonna believe this..." It's kind of a full circle thing, from a more academic and physiology approach to performance to reaction and analysis, back to physiology, and frankly this is strong stuff. This is going to be soooo cool to watch and hear.
Imagine, Elizabeth finding Will Ramos to be facinating. Will Ramos is interested in seeing how his voice works. They make friends. They do a couple of things to explore thier cuisoties. They end up creating a new look into sience of how more the outer muscles work on shaping a distorted sound. Two special people meeting working together to better humankind, what a concept. I really love this channel!
This could honestly be the start of a significant shift in a field of science. Something that could be remembered and looked back upon. How fun! Watching history unfold right in front of our eyes.
Liz.... You got me with this. Mixing science, health an music! I'm in! I stumbled across you and your channel a short time ago because of your Ghost Love Score reaction. I've been a Symphonic Prog Rock fan sonce YES put out Roundabout in 72. My Sophomore year of HS. I was already a Heavy Metal fan of Steppenwolf and Iron Butterfly. (I wasn't big on the Metal of the 80s becauae they weren't heavy enough. Then in the early 2000s my sons turned me onto Dream Theater. Now since Spotify, I have found many more Prog Metal bands leading Nightwish a couple years ago. And That, led me to you. I'm 68 ans love heavy and beautiful music. It is an honor to ha e met you and now be on this journey of loveing music with you. ❤ 🎉 PS: The health part, I was a Nurse for over a decade and now am trying to stay healthy!!! 😮 😂
We watch movies and listen to music and visit museums with family and friends because we love to share the moments. Reactors give us that feeling of sharing. Have you watched the reactors reacting to Emma Kok singing Voila with Andre Rieu or Dimash Kudaibergen's original, Chinese performance of SOS? I've watched dozens of reactors of both performances and new ones still bring tears to my eyes. I don't understand your aversion but I guess that's what makes the World go 'round.
You were the first reactor I ever tuned into, sometime in 2020, mostly because you were an opera singer, and as a lifelong metalhead I was curious how you would react. You gave us old metal lovers validation when you began breaking down the skills required to sing harsh vocals and climbing the ladder of range. To me you are the OG of reactors, and now an accidental scientist. Kudos to you!
I totally agree. I found her channel accidentally and have been watching and loving her reactions ever since. I love the fact that she becomes a fan of so many different genres.
It's the attitude of going in with an open mind that I appreciate the most. I'd wager that those who are most beloved around the world are those who are willing to listen, willing to change their perceptions, and willing to learn, and Elizabeth has that attitude in absolute spades, to say nothing of her infectious enthusiasm. Top tier human being, congrats on the exciting step forward!
I'm taking this video to the professors at my workplace (Techincal university) Speech, music, and hearing department tomorrow. My curiosity is running wild currently! (I'm not sure how this department fits in, but I'm betting that I'm about to find ut)
So my wife thinks I am strange sometimes. Because I swear to her that whenever I am starting to feel sick or have an upset stomach, I get in my car and drive and just sing, and sing, and sing, and eventually completely feel better. I had a fever once and just turned on some karaoke tracks and started singing along, and I swear my fever went down after a few songs. I am fully on the side of singing can help people feel better when you are sick. So when you say singing can help destroy cancer cells and help with cardiovascular health I don't even need to see the research because I 100% believe singing has the power to heal. I love singing and music and just can't imagine life without it. I first subscribed to your channel in November of 2021 and have watched so many of your videos and love learning about my voice and things I can do. I found Geoff Castellucci through your channel and love listening to his voice and trying to emulate his voice in my car. Keep up the great work Elizabeth!
Someone I know overcame throat cancer by singing and laughter therapy. She didn't want to be poisoned by chemotherapy or radiation treatments that modern medicine offers, so she chose to amplify the body's ability to heal itself.
I have two extended family members currently dealing with throat cancer. This research could give them back a voice that cancer might well take away from them. That's bloody fantastic! Thank you for what you do Elizabeth, and thank you to Will and the other artists participating in the research!
Many people have reported putting their cancer into remission by following a strict carnivore diet. Even stage 4. At the very least. No carbs or sugar as that is cancers favorite food. Worth a try.
I love when Liz nerds out on voice performance at the research level. Smart people getting curious and excited about stuff is how we get new insights and comprehensive exploration.
You come to amaze me even after almost 5 years of following your channel. Please keep doing what you're doing! Glad to support you and that great project ahead. Thank you for your work and passion
Accurate updated intro: "Hi. I'm Elizabeth and I have been Spoiled By Metal. Join me on my journey as I go from world class opera singer to all time legendary extreme vocal master" Imagine that powerful voice adding harsh vocals? The world is not ready for the debut duet track of Dr. Zharoff and Will Ramos 🤯
The artistic journey from recent times to the performance would be its own story, and I think a whole bunch of folks would like to be along for that ride.
I kinda wanted to do the "shut up and take my money" gif but I'd really rather you never shut up. Thank you, Elizabeth! This is such a great opportunity and I love how you're pushing this!
You are so incredible, Elizabeth. I'm no singer, and I'm pathetically broke, but in mind, I'm with you. You are doing science for the human race, and we should all celebrate you for that!
Absolutely EPIC! I have been watching your channel for about 4 years now. I started with either Hilung or Wardruna, then started watching your metal reactions. It was a treat to watch someone who wasn't a metalhead fall in love with the music. Not to mention the respect and appreciation of music inspired by pre-Christian Scandinavia.
I know that Rick Beato have a similar problem to define himself since his YT channel has preoccupied his career; so he doesn’t know is he music producer, music professor, or whatever. So don’t bother Elizabeth, you become even serious science contributor and I praise your work in any direction or form it takes or will take. Keep on good work 👍✌️💪
It was watching Beato's videos that got The Algorithm to suggest Elizabeth's channel to me. She reminds me of one of my college professors, her deep dive into the physiology of tone production, and the control needed is what Dr Wooldridge specialized in. One of his gifts was teaching laryngectomy patients to speak better that those who used the ATT "throat shaker" and transfer that curiosity to his singing students. Thanks, Uncle Bucky!
I didn’t realize it’s been FOUR YEARS?!? I still remember when the first dimash video wasn’t even released. Sheesh. Glad I’ve been able to see the ride, so excited for where it takes us in another 4.
This is exactly why I love this channel. You geeking out over your passion is SUCH a wonderful thing to see and experience. I hope that everyone that watches this, shows the support to their friends family .. and LET THEM share and encourage their passion, whether its the structure and technique of the voice, a particular worm that only lives in 5 square acres of a marshy, or matchbooks from the 1920's. You never know what the world could learn or discover!
I don't know if it would do well on the channel, but I would love to see an analysis of Ville Valo's vocals from the band HIM. They disbanded in 2017, but he recently released a solo album titled Neon Noir, that is amazing as well. I am EXTREMELY biased on how lovely his voice is, I've been a fan since I was 19, I'm 39 now, lol.
This video pretty much sums up why I love your channel. I come from a musical background. Being a sax player in my youth, it was primarily concert band and jazz. I've also been a metalhead since my early teens, and have heard crap my whole life that metal singers just scream. Even clean vocalists like Dio, Dickinson, Tate, etc. never changed these people's minds. To see someone like you who came from a world filled with the elite of the elite in musical snobbery truly open her mind and embrace the beauty of metal vocalists has been a pleasure to watch over the last 4+ years. What I've always enjoyed the most is waiting to see your reactions to the really heavy parts of songs I know. Your classic giggle can brighten up anyone's day.
Been watching you shortly before your Jinjer video. You have given me a vastly greater appreciation for vocals. This in turn has given me a passion for different genres of music. I can't express how grateful I am,and how much I enjoy all that you do......p.s. love tea time.
I believe music definitely heals cancer! I was in the hospital in 2000 with colon cancer in my mid 40’s, had 3 children grown & 2 of which were in college. I laid in the hospital for a week after surgery & listened to Pantera’s version of Ozzy’s song Planet Caravan on repeat! There was something so mesmerizing about that song. It took me to the sky & in flight like so many of my dreams in the past! Flash forward to 24 yrs later & 2 of my 3 children have been married 20yrs & I’ve been blessed with 10 grandchildren from my 2 daughters! Also, my oldest daughter sang & danced since she was 5yrs old & recently had a fluid sack on her esophagus right next to her vocal cords drained. The drs hit her vocal cords & she had only a whisper for 6 months. She just had another surgery to remove the cyst & half her thyroid gland & it worked! Moral is music has touched our lives & made a difference! Btw 1 daughter has a degree BA in Forensic Anthropology & the other a BA in Psychology & a Master in Business! Much love from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains!
Elizabeth- I'm an academic with a love of progressive music and a love for Magma and Jinjer, and I am enthralled by your work and research! I'll be over the kickstarter soon. How cool is this! And you have to get Tati involved. 🙂 Could you have imagined when you first reviewed that Jinjer video that this is where it would lead? Life is strange that way.
@@TheCharismaticVoice You have made some really cool friends over the years! Speaking of which, ever since your collaboration with Miracle of Sound I've been low key hoping for that song's line-up to become a full-time band haha. If you did I'm sure that all your vocalist friends would happily feature on your songs.
Thank you for your genuine curiosity and generosity. For never stigmatising and always embracing the vocal distortion community with enthusiasm and kindness. You have achieved so much and made so many beautiful connections over the past five years, I cannot wait to see where the next five years takes you. Thank you, Elizabeth 🫶
Elisabeth, you save my life. Not with all the sience part but with you're analysis of songs. The first one i check is Cemitary Gates from Pantera and I literly fall apart, crying happyness because i knew that i'm not the only one beeing fascinated by all micro details in a song, but not just in songs, in all the picture of life. They call it hyper-sensitive, i call it human without darkness, humsn with empathie, human that it suposed to be. After that i check when you discoverd S.O.D. and that moment you fall in love of Serj: "a little bit of spice" that's the moment! You save my life
Wow! Great to see Dr. Titze is still working on his passion. I worked with him in '94-95 when he was still at the University of Iowa. I also did all the video, EMG and botox injections with the Otolaryngology Department that year.
Finally science studying something worth while! I love what you are doing! I particularly like how you mentioned music therapy. I've never been to a music therapist, but I did force myself to sing karaoke every week for about a year and it almost completely healed my social anxiety. Music has always been there for me and I'm glad there are people in the world studying what we are doing and encouraging more music and more exploration. You are a good egg.
You're going from an expert reactor on RUclips to a person that might be pivotal to the metal community in the coming years. Your curiosity is making metal singing better understood and the idea of having a "harsh singing class" provided by a respected university will give more visibility to the genre, you deserve all the respect in the world for this. PS: Still waiting for you to start your own band. :3.. Or at the very least do some collabs with the likes of Will or maybe Cristina Scabbia.
literally has me crying seeing how happy you are. I love this. I love your growth I have seen over the last four years. youre moving mountains thank you!
I did not realize that I'd caught your first reaction video. And, 4 years later, making academic history in a completely different genre. What a journey.
I've been following your journey since almost the beginning. Watching you (and Julia, Ken, Bethany, Lolli, and many others) fall in love with the music that has kept me going through these past few years has been a joy to watch. I so look forward to seeing where the road goes from here.
So happy to see Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer on the list, her sounds are insane and the speed she switches is crazy. I think Alex Terrible would be another great one because he has the most powerful voice I've ever heard. Chester Bennington would have been an amazing one to see since he holds the record for longest scream.
The research nerd in me is thrilled you're pursuing this! You need to locate a man named Jason Laktash. While a teenager, he had his larynx completely crushed, and if I recall correctly, removed. He was told he'd never be able to speak again without a mechanical device, but taught himself just how to do so using those superglottic structures on his own-in only a few months.
Been with you since Ghost Love Score. The journey has been epic and fascinating. Can't wait to see where it goes and what we all can learn through your efforts! ♥️😍🤩🤘🏽

I highly recommend reacting to Apocalyptica - 'Bittersweet' feat. Lauri Ylönen & Ville Valo The stark contrast between Ville's and Lauri's voices is unbelievable yet they fit so well and sound beautiful together!
I havent' been here since the beginning - I jumped in when I discovered your reactions to Weird Al - but your content has taught me a lot about my own voice. Seeing you flourish from what you were to where you are now has been quite the journey!
Thank you for this recap...I stumbled upon your channel when I saw your reaction to Stevie Ray Vaughn and I have thoroughly enjoyed your shows...I am excited for you and wish you the best in your continued research

While base camping your research At the " U " On the hill Overlooking my hometown Of Salt Lake City. Where my hard rock/ metal journey started. On the former Rock 103.5 FM ( RIP ). Now sadly known as The Arrow. Your unique approach towards rock/ metal... Is one that has caused for me to fully rediscover my love for music, overall. And...Want to pass on to my wife and family. Down under. May your channel lay down the standard thatall others must follow. BTW... A Tea Time interview with The Warning would be fitting straight away. They are the Rush of this century.

I Love this channel so much, because of you my vocal control, pitch, form and my approach has taken new heights! I am now learning how to do operatic vocals, I am so happy to be a part of your journey and I am very excited for your future. Thank You, ~Poss
This is beyond amazing!! Massive congratulations to you and your research team for everything you've achieved so far, and will no doubt go on to achieve! I really hope you're able to get Bruce Dickinson involved in the studies, because not only is he a metal god with a fantastic voice, but he has gone through throat cancer and come straight back to singing! I bet you could learn so much from putting a camera down his throat!

It can be surprising how much science comes from "that's odd -- I wonder how it works."
@@htpc002Weirdhouse that’s exactly what science should be.
She said it! She's one of us now! Stay metal, Elizabeth.
What I mean when I say it: Metal is hard and strong, but can adapt to be anything it needs to be, able to take the heat and take the cold, able to be bludgeoned and cut and still, what it is never changes.
It impresses me every week how diverse the community, and genre is. I'm hooked.
@@TheCharismaticVoice Over the years we have slowly converted you to the unholy church of metal. We're happy to have you and your contributions have been absolutely wonderful!

@@yikes6263 I highly recommend the videos 'Metal Music Makes You Calmer? - Your Brain On Metal' by Beth Roars and 'Why metalheads are happier people' by DW History and Culture!
This is why I decided to follow you Elizabeth. You are a force for good and great things in the world!
Could not have said it better myself! Amen!
Chaotic Good to be sure.
Same on all counts.
🤘🤘 Same, my friend. Same.
Yo, My daughter is 11, can sing opera and scream like a MoFo. My oldest daughter can sing contemporary, scream like a MofO and write stuff that I think will lead somewhere are she gets older. I am just glad my kids are being creative and not staring at a phone.
It's so good to finally feel validated 😊
For those who were also here from the beginning! A big thumbs up to you! 👍🏼
@@Rramirez246 Well, I do not like Lorna Shore music, but Will Ramos seems to be an amazing person :-)
Exact same sentiment from me!
I triple that! 🫶
Elizabeth is the absolute best! I have fallen in love with how expressive she is!
I've just watched a 13-minute ad for a Kickstarter. And I'm hella glad I did.
Gossage would've loved to see this: "Nobody reads advertising. People read what interests them; and sometimes it’s an ad."
Hell yeah Gossage.
Sounds like you have a lot in common Elizabeth! 🤗
@kelleewolfe2834 You're correct. After my accident, I lost my falsetto but gained a much deeper range. Carla said it may be an effect of removing the sinuses that were irreparably damaged.😁👍🏻
Ohhh wow! Thank you for her name. I will try to look her up. Whiplash? My whole neck has been a mess.
Opra is that different to Opera ?
I’m 65 and was completely uninterested in metal.
Then my nephew steered me to Nightwish...
That’s when I stumbeled in on this channel. Been a loyal follower since then.
What you described in this episode, made me think of Star Trek...
”To boldly go where no man has ever gone before”.
Well the next step is to get into Dio like Elizabeth has.
His Rainbow & Sabbath years first perhaps then explore further back & forwards.
Lt. Uhura, while being a multi linguist, a computer tech, and serving in the chain of command, was also a much admired vocalist. During her recreation time she often performed with Spock, who was a master of the Vulcan harp. Oh, I miss my service on the Enterprise. 😊
Cue the theremin!
@@shortbusdriver83 Trivia moment - the Theremin was played by Majel Barrett, who voiced the Ships Computer, and wife of Gene Roddenberry.
Same, and I think it's absolutely fantastic that Elizabeth is raising the bar even higher!
I was immediately drawn to your channel because you're often bursting at the seams with child like wonder, yet the technical understanding of a pro. It's really great to have a person like you to react to music we love.

This is why I followed you, in spite of loathing the basic concept of “reaction” videos. Because of your scientific explanations and curiosity.
Same.
I’m curious about their reaction 😀
OOoo! Great! I have a Kickstarter Promo video coming out tomorrow that will explain the science in more detail as well!

His range and timbrality is inordinate. He can go from bass D to tenor high D in no time and it always sounds unsettlingly strong
Seriously. Please do HIM. Ville has an insane voice.
Razorblade Kiss is a fairly good song to hear what Ville can do. I mean there are dozens, but that one people know.
bittersweet w/ apocalyptica would be good, 2 singers
I second this, obviously. That guy is so unique on so many levels!
This is SOOOO fascinating!!! Thank you for taking us along!!!

Hi Elizabeth, Congratulations and all the best as the journey unfolds.
Elizabeth, you're truly a gift to music, science, RUclips, and people with too much time on their hands. Thank you for all that you do.
Wow. So proud of you and excited to see where this will take you.
What can we say except "Brava!"
I guess Elizabeth, despite all her energy, does not have time to start a band right now 🤘🏻🖤

So crazy! Congratulations. I’ve been with you a couple years. You do great work with the best kind of enthusiasm. Thank you
The research nerd in me is thrilled you're pursuing this!
Same here! I was never one for reaction videos but Elizabeth's journey and her knowledge has never ceased to amaze and teach me.
@@bosunbones.8815 Well I came for reactions especially for anyone who knows singing adnthen discovers metal, ghost love score was my start here as well and i am still there, loved the ramos video with the throat research not so much singing wise but as a language teacher also part of important knowledge where to do what. So fun to see how this all evolved/s
Simply the best reaction channel on RUclips. Your knowledge, passion and engaging style makes every video a must watch.
I highly recommend reacting to Apocalyptica - 'Bittersweet' feat. Lauri Ylönen & Ville Valo
The stark contrast between Ville's and Lauri's voices is unbelievable yet they fit so well and sound beautiful together!
We need a video of you doing all the noises you made growing up, and invite your brother to be in the video with you
Signed up the kickstarter and standing by!
Once again, METAL SAVES THE DAY! ❤
WOW!!!
It is so satisfying to hear
That you have chosen a path
Which has definitely improved my appreciation for ALL GENRES
Of Music.
Specifically.
Hard Rock/.Heavy Metal.
While base camping your research
At the " U "
On the hill
Overlooking my hometown
Of Salt Lake City.
BTW...
A Tea Time interview with
The Warning would be fitting straight away.
They are the Rush of this century.
I love what you're doing and I'm glad I came across your channel!
I have a bit of a tear in my eye with the joyful optimism this video inspired in me. Thanks for everything you and Will are doing with all the wonderful people with letters behind their names.
So much appreciation, Elizabeth.
I Love this channel so much, because of you my vocal control, pitch, form and my approach has taken new heights! I am now learning how to do operatic vocals, I am so happy to be a part of your journey and I am very excited for your future.
Thank You,
~Poss
From Arizona keep VOCALIZING!!! 😛 TY Eliz..
11:55 that reminded me of Val Kilmer, it will surely help a lot of people!
You are such a wonderful person, it really is a delight watching you on your musical journey.
For some of us, knowledge is a highly addictive drug. Elizabeth is definitely a fellow addict.
