Maynard and Billy are both old. Maynard already said before this event that he was nervous because it was out of his range but Maynard also has one of those unique voices especially from his younger days. Jelly Roll just sounded awful. My uncle introduced me to metal about 40 years ago with Maiden and Ozzy (both solo and Sabbath) and I still listen to them to this day.
It's difficult to cover Ozzy faithfully. He has one of the most unique voices in rock history. People used to criticize it until you try to sing one of his songs yourself.

With as big an influence he was in my musical life, I will admit I cried when he started talking about Randy and everything. Biggest vocal and guitar influences for me
Back in the 90's , a local radio station, for April Fools Day, began the day by hinting around, yet never saying it, that Izzy had passed. When they let us in on it, I was livid! They'd crossed a line( and kids, my line is pretty far out there.), and I swore I wouldn't be listening anymore. Of course I did, but it still pissed me off. 😂❤❤😅
I met the prince of Darkness as a very young man in the 80s in a Tower Record in Seattle prior to his concert signing autographs. He was wearing a white tuxedo. I was stuck by how sad he looked as fans shouted "rock on Ozzy, lets go" he never even looked up. I walked to him shyly and said to him "It's pleasure to meet you Mr. Osborne" he stopped looked up at me and thrust his hand into mine and said "Well it's a pleasure meeting you..." and I said my name" and said "Indeed Eric it is" and signed my Speak of the Devil album and did another on the inside sleaving. Such an amazing person. He changed my life. God Bless you John Osborne.

Ozzy is excellent with a one of a kind voice, but Dio gave him a run for his money. Sabbath was lucky that lightning struck twice when they performed with Dio after Ozzy's departure.

Seeing Zakk come out there brings back good memories. I don't care what people might say about him, he is an expert at what he does, he found his place and has nurtured that for decades, a true metal god.
The reason Ozzy is so great is because no one else can sing his songs. His voice is instantly unique when heard. Same with most uniquely great singers. You can’t cover them
all sabbath and ozzy cover albums suffered so hard from this. like anyone other than ozzy singing his songs is almost unlistenable. if you watch some reaction videos from opra singers on him. they always remark there is a spec resonence he uses

Holy moly. It seems like the spirit of Randy Rhodes entered Wolfgang Van Halens body. What an ass kicking guitar solo just as if Randy Rhodes was up on stage himself.
Were we watching the same video? I've seen 12 year old Chinese girls play the solo better. I can play that solo better. If Wolfy wasn't EVH's son we'd never know who he was. Mediocre at best.
Same here brother. Only song I ever saw that made Pops cry. He wasn’t leaving us without that tune. I just knew I was going to find someone else to say that here. Strength and peace
Can people stfu about who Ozzy has or hasn't thanked. He can't spend all.day up there thanking people. He's 75 yrs old with bloody Parkinsons disease. He's also a fucking living legend.
He could've thanked Bob Daisley, his bass player, songwriter, lyricist and musical arranger on "Blizzard of Ozz", "Diary of a Madman" and "Bark at the Moon". They guy basically worked his arse off putting all those songs together . He was paid out a lump sum of cash and given ZERO songwriting credits. Nice one, Sharon and Ozzy!!! 😮 Ozzy thanked Sharon and his family. He also thanked Randy Rhoads, but purposefully gave zero thanks to Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, Jake E Lee,. Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge - the very guys who put him on the map as a solo performer and gave his 80's comeback the brilliant kickstart it needed in the 1980's... Without them, he would've been a washed-up has-been. At least Bob knows his work was worthy of Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. That has to mean something for a working musician's pride
Man, when Jack said “Thank you Ozzy. Thank you for existing” At the show, I shed a tear. And watching it now I get the same feeling… the man has been so influential and is so loved
At a certain point, there’s not much you can say. I got to meet some of my idols, and the last thing I said was the most meaningful I could muster: “Thanks for playing music.”
It kills me to see Ozzy like this. I've seen him in concert countless times. Wish I had known the last time was gonna be the last. He's a fucking legend and has given me COUNTLESS hours and days of enjoyment. Rock on!
It's how life is Jody. We've got lots of memories and footage of him in his prime. Besides the great music, it's his persona that has made him stand out for me. Now is the time for him to enjoy time with his family, the best he can, for as long as he can.

He had the "audacity" of changing the feel of the solo with his own feel, and he nailed it. Everyone in the audience was like "Yeah man, that also works, do whatever you want you rock". Randy would´ve love it.
have you ever watched randy play this song. this guy was watchin a youtube video before the show to learn the song lolz. hes good, but def not great.... yet

James Hatfield still has a cast on his arm from the crash they were in and luckily for me Randy Rhoades was still alive but died 2 concerts later. One of the best nights of my young life and to this day Metallica and Ozzy are my favorite bands to still listen to. Congrats Ozzy..
Nobody sings it like Ozzy, that's the whole point. Ozzy's voice has that warm blanket touch we've all gotten so used to being tucked into before we go to sleep in the all-shades of musical magic dreams we whirl in that which is his legacy.. eh... I’ve said it for years, there’s some artists you stay away from as a cover band and Ozzy has always been one. Ain’t just anybody gonna hit those notes and bring it justice. Ozzy is one of a kind.

When you hear other people singing Ozzy's songs, you see the difference in okay singing vs actual unique talent that can't be replicated.
They are amazing vocalists. From what I hear someone just didn't give a shit about mixing this stuff.
Also these people are trying to imitate someone in their 30s (ozzy was about 31-2 when these hits came out).
This is fucking awful.
It's difficult to cover Ozzy faithfully. He has one of the most unique voices in rock history. People used to criticize it until you try to sing one of his songs yourself.
Wolfgang hitting the solo on Crazy Train was phenomenal! But Zakk hitting the same sound on No More Tears was unbelievable!

Back in the 90's , a local radio station, for April Fools Day, began the day by hinting around, yet never saying it, that Izzy had passed. When they let us in on it, I was livid!
