I agree. I wish his story had build up from being an independent hero then join the Avengers. I know the writers were thinking that viewers would get tired seeing Uncle Ben being the main focus for Peter to become Spider-Man but him being Iron Man's apprentice I feel wasn't really needed.

I thought his debut appearance in Civil War was godawful. All of the “humor” attached to his character is just him being painfully awkward and him acting like an autistic kid with ADHD. He was obnoxious even if his character is supposed to be that of a high schooler, and it felt like Tony Stark was babysitting a second grader rather than having deputized an adolescent that’s unfamiliar with the Avengers-level playing field.

I get that in Homecoming, Tom Holland's spiderman was supposed to be young and naive but in the later movies they just made him stupid. His idiotic decisions in No Way Home seem selfish and childish. Isn't Peter Parker supposed to be intelligent? Difficult to relate to his spiderman because the decisions he made are the kind of the decisions that someone who lived a privileged life would make. And that's not Peter Parker.

You sir, have no idea who Spider-Man is.
The genius behind the MCU, that no one appreciates, is that they were the first ones (in live action or cartoon) that showed how Spider-Man was in the first 28 issues of his comics. Aka the ditko high school era. Spider-Man doesn’t start as an inspiration in these comics, Spider-Man starts off as an unlucky frustrated little kid, who constantly tries to proof himself, and constantly fights an unfair world. It’s was also silly, entertaining, and very comic, because when Stan Lee started writing Spider-Man, he wrote his stories as a gag because he was so sick of the stuff he used to write all the years before he started the Marvel heroes. They were stories full of silliness, and cheesy situations, sprinkled with serious criminal drama. And that’s exactly how it is in the MCU.
For example, you'll see Spiderman making plenty of mistakes like in homecoming and far from home. You'll see peter arresting criminals before they do a robbery and they call the police and him just standing there like an idiot (homecoming vibe), you'll see him getting scammed and being played by mysterio (far frome home vibe), you'll see him having an adventure with Dr. Strange around the time of his graduation (No way Home vibe), you'll see him comparing himself to johnny storm and and the fantastic 4 (like he does with Tony and the avengers in the MCU), you'll see him doing naive things like trying to cash in a check without writing his name (homecoming vibe), there is no Mary Jane, Harry Osborne, or Gwen Stacy in the ditko era (same as MCU), his life has completely changed at the end of no way home like it kinda did at the end of issue 28, Uncle Ben is barely mentioned (once or twice) in the first 30 issues (exactly like the home trilogy). There are no real consequences in the ditko era during high school (there are no real Consequences in homecoming and far from home), Peter is a happy go lucky kid who enjoys being Spiderman and sometimes thinks irresponsibly because he's just a teenager (unlike the raimi movies and just like the MCU). Peter's identity was in crisis in issue 12 (and it was in crisis in the home trilogy). The high school and friends interactions are heavily emphasized in the ditko comics (unlike the raimi and Webb movies and just like in the MCU).
The things the MCU made different from the comics have a very good reason to, like making Tony stark build him the suit (a story telling tool that shows the evolution of Peter Parker until he makes his own suit, highlighting the growth and maturity of the character) Aunt May has a way more satisfying arc in the MCU than she did in the comics (by making her younger and more important to Peter). Peter having EDITH (to emphasize Peter's terrible luck in no way home and to be used by mysterio to frame him just like in the comics).
So it’s sad that the most comic accurate Spider-Man we ever got is the most hated and the most underrated :(

      @Warfox Exactly.

    • @omarmansour6766
      @omarmansour6766 2 года назад +16

@Warfox What makes Spider-Man great is his evolution, look at how he started out in civil war and homecoming, and look at where his now.
That’s exactly how it was in Stan Lee’s original run. Like at how Spider-Man is in issues 1-4 and look at how he is in issue 34. Then look at how he is in issue 50. Tremendous character development. It’s as if he is a different person.
And the MCU emulated that perfectly with the wall crawler. Fans will ruin the Spider-Man character if they controlled him. Spider-Man is not for all people. Most people are dumb and bullies.
Spider-Man is for bully victims, Spider-Man is for people who constantly get misunderstood, Spider-Man is for people who might accidentally lose their nerves and then people exaggeratedly judges them. That’s how MCU Peter is like, a frustrated kid who life constantly shuts down, and screws things up more than he saves things, and is being judged negatively by everyone…from iron man himself to J Jonah Jameson to the public.
And fans say “he’s iron man jr” fans are so unbelievably dumb.

@Warfox I don't care that he's a tech character I care that he has to ride off of someone else.

He doesn't make cool qips anymore he makes stupid pop-culture references I don't know if you know this but we kids AREN'T ACTUALLY LIKE THAT.
They took away his common sense something that he usually has, spiderman is supposed to be some type of child prodigy
Edit:I feel that Mcu spiderman is at his best when there is no iron man involved he only ever made pop-culter references around him and his whole entire personality seems to revolve around tony when he's around I liked the last mcu 2 spiderman movies honestly but the first one and spiderman's first introduction not my vibe.

Homecoming is one of my favorite MCU movies for a few reasons. Peter in this one is an actual friendly neighborhood spider-man, helping old ladies with directions, stopping bike thieves, and the villain is a down on his luck construction worker dealt a shitty hand who just wants the best for his family. Peter also saves the day with his homemade suit and not the Tony suit. Far from home and no way home lean way too much into the typical MCU spectacle where as homecoming is more grounded and realistic. I actually thought Tom Holland was fine. He's not my favorite, but I didn't think he was bad. A lot of these issues come down to subjective issues you take with the character. Your first one being that he's a kid? I mean, in the comics AND in the Toby McGuire movies he was a high school student starting out, ya know? Why can't he look and sound like one? (lord knows Toby didn't look much like he was in high school in the first movie) And as for the heroes talking down to him, well yes...because he's inexperienced and he's walking into a world he barely understands. That was the character arc for the hero: A young kid who dreams of being on par with the Avengers but is a rookie and needs to learn to not only handle his powers, but also learn what it means to be someone who can stand among giants. The David learning how to face Goliath. He makes mistakes. He makes poor choices. He has to suffer for them. But by No Way Home, he actually finishes his character story arc and comes into his own as a hero. The way you talk about it, I have to wonder...what if a teenage boy in high school DID get superpowers and wanted to be a superhero? Would you say he couldn't because he was too young and superhero work is an adult thing, only reserved for people over 21? You have to be old enough to drink to fight crime? XD

What makes Spider-Man great is his evolution, look at how he started out in civil war and homecoming, and look at where his now.
Stan Lee created Spider-Man as an anti-thesis to other 15-year old super heroes.
Whereas they were always sidekicks to adult super heroes, Stan Lee made Spider-Man his own man who made his own costume and web-shooters.
Besides the occasional team up to boost sales, Spider-Man never needed mentors or sidekicks.
That is until the MCU decided to turn Peter Parker into a typical Gen Z kid who worships Steve Jobs and Elon Musk-like tech moguls and made him a pathetic Tony Stark fanboy ("Yes, Mr. Stark. No, Mr. Stark").
Tony basically tells Peter that if he wants to be a serious super hero, he NEEDS to upgrade to a Stark tech Spider-Man suit and web-shooters.
This is why i don't like Holland's Spider-Man; he is basically Iron Spider and too dependent on Tony Stark.
In defense of the "childish" spider symbol; this is actually how John Romita designed and drew the original Spider-Man costume and it has been drawn like that in both the comics and cartoons for decades.
It actually IS iconic, unlike the modern spider designs you praise so much.
Also, Peter Parker became Spider-Man when he was just 15, so Tom Holland is not too young, Maguire and Garfield are too old.
This is exactly my problem with people who only watch comic book movies and shows while never having read the actual comic books (as REAL fans would):
They always complain about things that are actually correct.

By the end of the video your saying Tom Holland's spiderman suit is the most comic accurate.
I disagree. Because despite Toby's and Andrew's suits looking like they're made of cool fabrics and their logos have a cool sharp design, those versions are more closer to classic spiderman than Tom Holland's. Sure Tom makes a new suit by the end of No Way Home that's a complete nod to the comics but it doesn't impress me with its visuals.

      @srikarn1772 2 года назад

agreed 100%, the MCU perfectly portrayed Peter in high school and most people have seemed to forget how Spider-Man started out, part of his character in the Ditko era and the MCU is that he has made mistakes and has to learn to live with the consequences of said mistakes, moreso than Tobey or Andrew imo, and that's what makes his Spider-Man perfect, especially after No Way Home

Bruh stfu, “you sir don’t understand Spider-Man”
The movies are terrible with Holland. And it goes beyond his “comic accurate” portrayal. The writing for theses movies are fucking horrendous and has more holes in the plot than a block of cheese. There’s more leaps in logic in the films than there are actually moments that build upon the Characters.
So because I don’t like this version of Spider-Man, I “don’t get the character”
Even though I saw Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man back in 2002 opening night as a 4 year old, watched reruns of The Animated Series, read majority of Ultimate Spider-Man, read a lot of the 616 comics, saw Spider-Man 2 opening night as a 6 year old with my mom, watched all of Spectacular Spider-Man, wrote and drew my own Spidey comics as a kid….I guess I don’t understand the character because I didn’t accept a version of the character that is fundamentally flawed from the get-go.

    too goddamn young
Stan Lee said "I can't believe it. It's as if we created a living being to be Spider-Man, and it turned out to be Tom."
Tom's Peter as opposed to Tobey or Andrew who were 17 to 20 during their movies.
Tom is just 14 years old during Civil War.
and is just 17 during No Way Home ending.
He looks like a boy of that age of that age.
Unlike Tobey and his class who were all guys in their late 30s playing "17 year olds", they literally all seemed to be the same age as their teacher.
Tom and his class do look like young people between 14 and 17 years old, it is assumed that Spidey in his original comics was 15 years old when the spider bit him.
Furthermore, the fact that the other heroes who are clearly older adults are reproaching a CHILD for things is nothing strange, even when it comes to Spider-Man.
Spider-Man is not the mdf Batman, a serious man who leads the heroes.
He's just a random guy like you and me and especially in this version, he's just a guy under 18 in a world with heroes who are in their 30s and 40s, it's common sense.
Obviously when Peter grows up and is an adult he will stop being seen as a child and will be an equal to other heroes of his generation, literally this is what happens in the comics where he has had his problems with Ironman.
We literally see a bit of this in NWH, we see Peter oppose Strange and confront him, in a fight of ideals in which Peter wins.
Also, what kind of hypocritical argument is that? With that rule of 3, what the hell is the Raimiverse doing treating Peter Parker/Spider-Man, one of Marvel comics' greatest heroes, like an idiot? A fool who gets everything right wrong, he is unfaithful to his girlfriend and then they are unfaithful to him? a common loser?
Where is the brilliant mind of Marvel and the Hero he should be?
You never saw the movies, "in these movies they treat him like an Ironman apprentice."
WTF?In Civil War Peter literally refuses to help Stark at all times, it is not until Tony messes with his aunt and tells him that he will tell him his secret that Peter decides to help him, he does not decide to go help him because "oh my god "If Stark I'm going to be like him," he does it for May.
Of course, like any boy his age, he gets excited about the trip and the experience.
In Homecoming Peter literally rejects Ironman and the Avengers to be his own hero, to be Spider-Man, not Ironman Jr.
In Far From Home, after pressure from people, he feels that everyone places him as "the new Ironman", which confuses and stresses him because he doesn't know if that could be it.
In the end Happy makes him remember the facts, he is not and will not be like Ironman, he must be Spider-Man, Peter reacts and makes a new suit.
And in NWH there is literally no Stark influence whatsoever.
Now, the suit, the design of the suit is really subjective.
To be fair, Tom's is the one most attached to the comics, the web is supposed to be from the design of the suit, not a metal web that surrounds and protrudes from the entire suit like Raimi and Webb did.
The difference in why everything goes wrong for Tom and not for the other 2.
    It's because he's only 14/15 years old.
Tobey was 19 in his second film and Andrew was almost 20 years old.
You cannot compare the effectiveness of a young man who is almost 20 years old with that of a child who is just entering puberty.

MCU fanboys claim we hate a young and youthful Spider-Man.
Those air heads never saw the problem.
I like a youthful, young Spider-Man, Heck it's the only reason I got excited for him before Civil War came out. Thought we would get a nice adaption of Ultimate Spider-Man.
The problem is the world around him. Daddy Stark, the terribly inaccurate side characters, the abandoning of his origin story and Uncle Ben. It just sucks ass. And they all do this because "it's more realistic for the MCU" fuck no it isn't. It's just to squeeze him into the MCU to the MCU's modern standards.
    The right way to have gone with the character would of gone like this;
(Sidenote; he never appeared in Civil War. This predates that movie, and his side characters are completely different. Ned doesn't have the same role, and Aunt May isn't like the MCU version)
    Spider-Man Homecoming Re-write.
    - Peter Parker, months after the death of Uncle Ben, is only now starting to truly get better, if onlt a little bit. Months of fighting criminals as Spider-Man in his homemade suit, he has started to get the hang of it a bit, but in the grand scheme of things, his help goes unnoticed in the eyes of New York due to the large population of Superheroes, namely the Avengers fighting world ending threats. But a new threat arrives in the form of Vulture, a sly and bitter individual using his tech to make his way in the world, by threatening anyone and every who treated him and his family badly. Peter ever so eager to prove his worth, seeks to beat his first supervillain, but gets a head of himself when he not only gets clumsy as Spider-Man in his eagerness, but forgets about his life as Peter with Aunt May, his only living relative and mother figure(Though he hasn't said this yet) and absent in his school life as well.
Through all this, he leans to noe focus on his pride as a standout hero, but by following his Uncle's words. With a new mindset, he finally stops the Vulture the RIGHT way, without caring about standing out, and return home, to focus, listen and get involved in his life; to Aunt May, and as Peter Parker as a whole.
    This makes so much more sense because it does three things;
1: It still puts him in a superhero infested world
2: it starts him off in his very youthful and careless stage
3: Despite all this, it's about him learning to be more responsible in a much more Peted Parker way, on his own terms without other heroes, NO TONY STARK SITUATION.
(It doesn't HAVE TO be exactly like this, but I find this kind of route to be much more inline with the character while still existing in the MCU.)
I have rewrites for the rest of the trilogy and his roles in his other appearances.

The problem is with this Spider-Man the MCU Spider-Man is really he's not Peter Parker he is literally Miles Morales. They decided to replace Miles with Peter Parker all of the friends and the diversity the young naivety of Spider-Man that is the Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man version of Peter Parker. If they wanted to bring Spider-Man in and if they were going to go young they should have just brought in Miles because if it was me I would have brought Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man it would have made more logical sense to anything instead of kicking Andrew Garfield to the curb because of studio interference and mandate that Sony had.
MCU could have easily just brought in Andrew Garfield after that since they really rushed civil War to film after getting news of DC doing BVS it because I was down here in Georgia and they literally rushed him into the movie because the script was already finished but in the movie was halfway finished but they were fighting with Sony to try to get him into the movie.
So they could have easily just got Andrew Garfield in there and called it a day and just pick up from where Andrew Garfield Spider-Man left off at so it would give a reason why he would probably choose to be on Iron Man's team instead of getting Tom Holland and then if you wanted to have a young Spider-Man and still have Andrew Garfield Spider-Man you could have easily just brought in Miles Morales instead but I do agree he is the worst Spider-Man ever!
And it's kind of funny because my mom was disappointed too and she's not a fan of Spider-Man but she knows Spider-Man you know what I mean and even she was like who the hell is that and that's like that's supposed to be Spider-Man she's like no the hell that's not he's too young we already just had a Spider-Man that just graduated from high school he looks like he's 12 years old what is this and I'm like that's the Spider-Man they chose for this film franchise she was like they need to take it back cuz he's horrible and she hasn't really watched the Spider-Man movies from the MCU because she wasn't impressed with him and civil War or in in game or Infinity war and then she was pissed off that I took her to go see homecoming because you know we was trying to give him a chance she's like I never want to see this version of Spider-Man ever again honestly.

Tom holland is my favorite spider man and here are my reasons 1. When I first see him in homecoming the way he makes his web fluid for his web shooters and the way he gets excited to see his new suit and says he wants to do more any young kid would react the same I would and when he say please don't take my suit I'm nothing without it I felt bad for him 😔 because to him it wasn't just a suit it was like a part of him he just lost. The other part is when his trapped under the destroyed building he looks down and sees his old spider man mask in the water and I like how it symbolize that his not just spider man his peter Parker and he lifts the building off of himself with no backup or anything and took down the vulture all by himself and even when tony offers him the iron spider suit he refuses it and says he wants to look after the little guy or the regular people that to me shows his not like Tony who only thinks of himself he cares and wants to do good even with his homemade spider suit he stop the vulture that was amazing. Reason 2 in spider man far from home during the illusion or dream part where peter tries to fight mysterio and when see he tries punching him but in reality hits a stone wall but it also breaks if that was the real mysterio peter would have killed him especially if he had the symbiote suit. Another scene is after the illusion peter gets hit by a train but only sustains a few cuts and scratches but he is still able to stand and when his in the jet making his new suit he actually thinks and plans what he wants in his suit from the web shooters to that cool web glider awesome. The part that sweep me off my feet was the final fight were peter closed his eyes and had to trust his spider sense or spider tingle and he was able to sense the real mysterio was behind him and grabbed his hand with the gun in it his spider sense was so in tune his was able to stop the gun from hitting him amazing. I also like how peter had doubts about being the next iron man because his still a kid and wanted a normal vacation with his friends but he now knows that tony gave peter the glasses because he trusted him and he saw him in action. I also love Peter's night spider suit that is one of the things I love about tom holland spider man in each movie he finds a way to upgrade or change his suits for different battles. 😍
I am looking forward to see tom holland spider man with the black symbiote suit. 🕷❤

Let me help you with your opinion.

In fact I was excited they were going in a younger rookie direction. But they dont seem to want him to grow. And I guess it's kind of hard to, because tom will always seem 15/16 years old. If he was actually that young when he started and was able to grow with the movies. I think Tom would be fine. But after watching no way home I completely realised how much more I enjoyed the other spidermen/old villians returning than I did Toms portions of the movie. And the other characters are hands down the worst. Tom and Zendaya are better in real life as a couple than peter and mj. Flash is a dork. Aunt may meant little to nothing. Ned is cool.

In order for Spider-Man to be in phase 4 and phase 5 you must give him more Powers than what he had in the comic books or he will become irrelevant. Just like blade. This is like every other Tom Holland Spider-Man hate fest which do not put into perspective that this isn’t the same character as the other two. Your arguments don’t take into account how the Spider-Man 2 ruined Tobey’s Spider-Man or how Amazing Spider-Man is just garbage. Tom Holland has been the only consistent and well-written Spider-Man we have seen. And as always you have to bring up nostalgia and nostalgia has nothing to do with the writing of MCU Spider-Man. Your arguments are just awful man, please at least try and be objective. Also what the hell is wrong with the kid being looked down upon. He isn’t established like the others. Also, you have the Ironman arguments which doesn’t work. He is a kid recruited by Tony and Tony makes it very clear that he believes he will be better than him with or without the tech. As always someone says Iron boy Jr and it’s simply wrong based off of the character’s differing personality and they aren’t making him Ironman. I hate using the nitpicking argument but this is a video with nothing but nitpicks and horrendous arguments. I’m sorry but you are terrible at your job.

I'm a fan of all the Spider-Men, but Tom is easily my favorite. They took a different rout with it and I love that, so I am going to bring up counter points to each and every point in this video. Feel free to dislike him, but I and many others see this Spider-Man as the best one and here's my counter points.
    1. He's to young, No he's not. In Homecoming he is a 15 year old kid, not sure if you've ever seen a 15 year old but THEY LOOK LIKE KIDS STILL! At least he isn't a 27 year old man playing a 17 year old child.
    2. His suit, I mean this is all personal preference so this isn't really a valid reason why he's bad. While you don't like it others still do, the suit is meant to look techy and fresh, not like a basket ball put onto a suit. I am aware that NWH came out after this video but in the end of NWH his suit is more classic looking if that makes you feel better. I don't see an issue with the expressive eyes tho.
    3. Iron Man Jr., if I had a penny for every time someone says this about Tom's Spidey, I'd be rich. This point is stupid, let me explain. He is a kid, he looks up to Tony as his father figure / mentor / favorite hero. He want's to be like Iron Man, it's his role model, so him acting like Iron Man until he finds his own path in NWH makes complete sense.
    4. His Spider-Man is an idiot? HAHA... No. He's a genius they make it very clear in the films that he is "way beyond high school". Even Peter himself states it in Homecoming. But the reason he makes mistakes like failing an interrogation, leaving the interrogation early, or cutting a boat in two, is because HE. IS. A. KID. He just got his powers, at that point he wasn't used to them like a seasoned hero. And again he is only 15 years old, kids make those kinda mistakes almost DAILY.
    5. His jokes, I mean at this point I'm just repeating myself, he isn't supposed to have everything under control like Andrew or Tobey. In NWH you see his growth throughout the 3 films, you see him go from the 15 year old kid in Homecoming to the young adult going into collage, dealing with Spider-Man all on his own. And again, personal preference.
    6. Aunt May, sure okay. This one I kinda agree with, I love the wise old woman Aunt May in 2002 or 2012, but this Aunt May is younger and more like a fun mom than an Aunt. She still has her place though and they mostly fix this issue in NWH.
    7. Flash, okay so... in real life bullies don't look like this buff, jock who is just a jerk. In real life it's much different, most bullies are just normal looking people who pick on you, or tear you down slowly, they don't just wanna fight all the time like in films. In real life bullies can be shorter than you, a different gender, or even weaker than you, but if they constantly put you down then you feel like they have the power anyways. Besides from now seeing all 3 films Flash doesn't seem like just a bully, he seems like a friend that just likes to mess with Peter and get on Peter's nerves.
This point just makes you seem like you've never been to school or just didn't get bullied, I would say this Flash is even more realistic than the other 2 Spider-Man's Flash.
    8. MJ, yes sure Gwen and Andrew had more chemistry and it felt realistic, but not for a high schooler. And don't even get me started on MJ in Tobey's, ohh boy. Anyways, in Homecoming it is implied she has a crush on Peter, that is pretty obvious. And Peter doesn't see it until FFH, in Homecoming he had his own crush that would obviously lead no where. Liz and Peter didn't have much chemistry, but I don't think they we're supposed to. At the end of Homecoming after Liz moved is when I think he realized he likes MJ, and so FFH is about him trying to make that work.
When it finally does work (In NWH) they have amazing chemistry, and are great together. I wouldn't say better than Gwen but it isn't bad at all.
Ight, well there's an hour of my life I'll never get back. Honestly as much as I disagree with you it was a solid video, your allowed to like or dislike whatever you want and I don't need to agree with you, I just thought it would be a fun idea to bring up counter points to you. I really hope you read all of this and I hope that after NWH you can appreciate this version of Spider-Man more.

Tom is only the “worst” Spider-Man cuz of writing. Marvel has never failed when it comes to casting and Tom is no exception. He has the potential to be the best Spider-Man. But for some reason Disney thought it would be a good idea to dumb him down to a Disney movie with a Marvel logo slapped on it. Instead of taking this complex character more seriously. They added in ridiculous things like Stark Tech which is just not Spider-Man. After watching NWH tho, that ending really has me thinking Tom might finally start moving in the direction of the classic Spider-Man we know and love

I know right. I tried to watch Homecoming first time and quit it in 15 minutes. Tried to watch it again and I quit it again, in just more 15 minutes. That's considering his movies are on Netflix, easily accessible for basically anyone without any effort to download or set up to watch on a bigger screen than the phone, and still I gave up watching it twice.
That's how shitty Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies are.
