@jimmy just jeremy Peter wasn't there for her. Just like everything else in his life he put the city above his own priorities. She deserved better, even if he was a good man. Sometimes things just don't work. It's selfish to expect a woman to stay loyal to a man she never sees, one who seems to have no investment in her life. That and misremembering scenes (Peter wasn’t walking to school he was going after MJ after see dad berrated her). And he uses all this as evidence of the “new” (aka Disney) movies are better. Anyone can make a bad review to bait people into getting mad, but that doesn’t somehow mean the mad people are wrong.
This is exactly it. These movies were intentionally campy because they're portraying comic book characters, but there's very subtle character acting in there too to add a touch of realism and relatability to the characters.
In comics spiderman shooted his webs put of his hands If somebody over stresses the Web would the glands come out Because all of our glands are connected Right? Especially the train scene It's like Daredevil can't see but has a eye in his ass Or Tony Stark makes his suits just because his heart can do so Yeah I know it's weird But that's how a comic reader would see the movie

While I agree that the Raimi films are overrated, their portrayal of Uncle Ben knocked it out of the park. It was almost pathetic watching Amazing Spider-Man try to redo the character by just making him angry all the time and making his death scene laughable.
hitop would wreck him because many of this guys points just literally dont make any sense..... hes missing the point of so much shit idk how much longer i can listen to this. hitop ive found is a way better critique and provides real insight on the movies
The point of the video is to address the short comings of the films, even if he finds them enjoyable. I like them too, but they just don't stand up to The Dark Knight, Infinity War, Homecoming, and Into the Spiderverse
I agree with Marcus. I fucking love these movies _because_ of how corny and cheesy they are, and how they don't take themselves too seriously. I feel like they perfectly capture the feel of the Spiderman comics - just non-stop campy fun with moments of quote-on-quote "serious" dialogue that in retrospect sounds corny and is tonally consistent with the rest of the story.
@@gloriousporpoise9731 We don't see it yet or know the details, and Sandman character actually work by story and acting perspective but Sony was fool enough by add Venom/Eddie Brock since the third movie already have stacked character.
@@ban66a1 what I'm saying is that I doubt we would have gotten a vulture as good as Michael Keaton's one as he's one of the superhero film villains in the past decade
I think we have to remember that these movies are based off of comics. The campiness works. The movies back then had the heart & soul of the comics with the campiness included. Now it seems like they are made on an assembly line using a formula. They’ve lost the campiness too…and replaced it with bad jokes.
It doesn’t always work though that’s what he’s saying. It’s so distracting at sone points you forget some scenes should be tense, it can get to be way too much through this series and it didn’t work 100%
It's not campy because it's based off the comics, it's campy because that's just Sam Raimi's style. He's always been known for making silly low/mid budget movies
As a scientist (Mechanical Engineer, IT Researcher, Energy analyst), I can tell you that '...back to formula' only means start from the beginning. Norman was worried about the time and procedures it'll take before progress is made again. Hence he tested it on himself. Love the trilogy BTW.
Fun fact: Sam Raimi didnt want to put Venom in the movie at all and was super against it but the studio literally told him they would have someone else make the movie if he didnt do it. So, Raimi intentionally picked the least scary and least fitting actor he could possibly find for Venom lmao.
He didn’t necessarily pick him because he’s the least scary actor to play the role, he just didn’t really get into the later comics with venom in them, he said he didn’t understand the character, so he did his own take, a guy that sort of mirrors Peter and easily could of been how Peter had turned out if he had a different upbringing and set of morals.
@@jarrav8186 I said he did his own take.. I never said anything about how venom actually is.. what I’m saying is look at Sam raimi’s Eddie Brock, he’s sort of a lot like Peter Parker in a way except he clearly has a different moral compass, and no one like aunt may or uncle Ben to teach him what’s right, it doesn’t get to be explored as much as it could of due to all that’s going on in the movie(the same can be said about all the villains and their subplots)
Thank you, lol had me rereading my comment wondering where I said anything like that lol (he deleted his comment, so there’s no context to what this comment is anymore lol)
I love that they didn’t stray away from some of the corniness of the comics. Like “we’ll meet again, Spider-Man!!” Is totally a 60s comic book line, but it’s so fun to hear and see.
that's exactly why I love the trilogy. I used to read a few issues of the 60s comic books when I visited my grandparents house on Sundays as a kid. And they managed to capture the feel of them BRILLIANTLY. Is it cheesy? Hell yeah. But I honestly think that was the _point._
I really fucking hate this whole trend of titles being so antagonistic to the viewer, like it implies you're wrong about a subjective opinion. So arrogant. His tone throughout this video isn't much better. I mean it isn't condescending but everything is phrased objectively.
I’m surprised how much this comment section has calmed down. Honestly thought it would be getting those stupid ass spam comments till the end of RUclips.
Shravan Kumar I have to agree. Personally I think the best Spider-Man movie is The Amazing Spider-Man but the best portrayal of Spider-Man is Tom Holland. Now if you was to take Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and place him in the Amazing Spider-Man story line, that would be the best Spider-Man.
@@ProsperingNerd808 I have to completely disagree with you Adrew's spiderman was a dick, and he didn't even fit the look and personality of Peter Parker, he was some skateboarder who wasn't picked on, the polar opposite of Peter Tom Holland is a gem thats for sure, his age, goofiness, and personality matches Peter Parker extremly well But Toby is always gonna be the first person who captured the struggling nerd in high school living with bullies, he was nerdy and pretty relatable, he in my opinion is the father of all spider men, but maybe not the best
Doctor Octopus' plan makes sense: 1. Doc said earlier in the movie that the arms were programmed to finish the science experiment. 2. Doc said earlier in the movie that the inhibitor chip prevents the arms from taking over him. 3. Inhibitor chip is destroyed and arms take over. 4. Arms programming hasn't changed and so they tell Doc to finish the science experiment. Note: This comment isn't an agree or disagree with the video. It's simply a correction of one thing you stated in the video that was wrong.
I wanted to explain that too. I work with AI and nowadays AI is still pretty basic, so it just have a goal to complete and it will try whatever it can to accomplish it, just as a mice trying to get out of a maze.
Although I think that creating a fusion reactor would be so huge that it would already be motivation enough. Like evolving humans into giant lizards that can regrow their limbs would be totally amazing. Endless energy and cure to everything? Nah not motivating enough.
Because he’s straight up wrong at some points. His whole “aunt may is a jerk” part is literally missing all the context of the scenes he talks about lol. When he says she’s a dick, the scene he shows in the background is legit her giving Peter money when her house is about to be foreclosed
Idk, I felt like Aunt May’s reaction towards Peter’s confession about uncle Ben’s death was understandable. Sure maybe it was a bit cold but having to learn that your husbands death could’ve been prevented is a lot to mentally and emotionally process. Plus early in the movie it was established that she was still grieving over Ben’s death. Her grief is still fresh and I felt like her leaving Peter was her way of communicating that she needed time and space to process Peter’s sad confession. Great video btw.
Also, Aunt May isn’t always a saintly mother figure. She used to constantly complain and believe Spider-Man was a bad person in the comics. She also tried marrying Doc Ock, etc.
Also Mary Jane was justifiably mad at Peter, he really did kept making it all about himself and Spiderman when she tried to tell him her problems, Cosmo seems to just want every single person to be nice to Peter all the time no matter the circumstances.
@@pats3212 Uh no. When she is complaining about the bad reviews, Peter emphasizes with her, telling her it's alright and a part of the job. She gets mad because he uses his experiences as Spiderman to help her out.
yeah i loved that sene and i was glad that she didnt just blow it off and say something like: dont worry peter, uncle ben would have been proud of you"
just rewatched this trilogy after spider verse, and it still a really good spidey story. then uncle ben moments hit every time we see peter having to his relations and well being for the sake of the city it hits home. even the minimal dialogue is effective. i find this version of peter to be the most realsitic version an awkward nerd who only has his aunt his best friend and gf as a social circle, struggles to work and do college while being spidey and bears it all.
Ok, is he not aloud to think that the newer movies are better. Personally I love the MCU Spider-Man and I don’t really remember the Sam rami movies being that good
@Jim Johnson So true 😂 This can work out. Spider-Man is a HUGE sandbox to play around in. They just have to play their cards right. They should look to Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Verse, and PS4 Spider-Man as their inspiration. They're basically perfect! I don't think Holland should crossover with Venom, because their characters are different ages. Sony should just proceed to have Tom faceoff against the Sinister Six. Sony should release a statement saying Venom takes place in the same universe as The Amazing Spider-Man movies and have Marc Webb return to direct the third one, and then we can have these two characters crossover. Sam Raimi should come back and direct Spider-Man 4, which takes place 10 years after Spider-Man 3 and explores an older and more experienced Spider-Man a lá Logan. Finally, we can have a live-action Spider-Verse with Tobey, Andrew, and Tom; a Sony equivalent to the Avengers. From there we can get Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Jessica Drew, Ben Reilly, Miguel O' Hara, and other REALLY INTERESTING SPIDER-CHARACTERS!
(Jim Johnson) People can be fans of characters without screaming like an insane fangirl. I personally love the MCU Spider-Man, though I know it’s less comic accurate than the other movies.
You can say what you want but when I look at J.K Simmons, I see J. Jonah Jameson lol he was a great casting choice. “ I resent that! Slander is spoken. Print is libel.” 😂😂😂

@@robl0xgamer258 I don't think it's regarded as perfect, a lot of people just prefer it cause of the underlying themes that are in between the bad parts of the film. The themes are highloghted and a lot of people can relate to Peter in these films. MCU spiderman isn't bad, but he seems perfect. He doesn't have to live a life in secret, he doesn't have to divide his identty to save his loved ones from his enemies, I don't even see his identity being figured out in FFH a disadvantage cause a lot of people will look up to him like How Tony was being Iron man. The Raime films were just about a boy making the hard decision in life to keep his loved ones safe.
Micah Johansson Actually, MCU Spider-Man does have consequences. Spoilers if you haven’t seen Far From Home, but at the end Peter’s secret identity gets revealed to the world by Mysterio and The Daily Bugle. So yes, MCU Spider-Man does have consequences, at least in my opinion. Also part of Spider-Man’s character arc in Far From Home revolves around him coming to terms with Tony’s death and becoming his own man. His own SPIDER man. He then makes his own suit and adds some original abilities to it.
M That’s the that stuff happened to SPIDER-MAN, not Peter Parker. Trying to get the attention of a girl you like, trying to get her something she’ll love, and just trying to be with the girl and tell her how you feel is very relatable because that was PETER’S side of the story. Being called names by a bully at your school? Relatable. Nervously going to a girl’s party and then asking that girl to Homecoming even more nervously? Relatable. Texting someone WAY too much and just hoping for one response? Relatable. Being surprised when the girl you had an elaborate plan to woo kisses you before you have the chance? Relatable. There’s a difference between Spider-Man and Peter Parker in how relatable they are. One’s a *superhero*

I think we have to remember that these movies are based off of comics. The campiness works. The movies back then had the heart & soul of the comics with the campiness included. Now it seems like they are made on an assembly line using a formula. They’ve lost the campiness too…and replaced it with bad jokes.

MCU Aunt May? Yup.
The entire MCU Spider-Man sucks donkey balls, with or without Raimi trilogy.

@Jim Johnson So true 😂
This can work out.

Why should he be right? He literally just commented that the things that were placed for peter's heroic development are bad only because they are treating peter bad???

Was it like that
Yup
Gonna cry?
Its just his opinion guys, don't need to go all apeshit lmao, I actually agree with his opinion now that I looked back at these films, they're not that great or perfect like people said they are, I prefer mcu spiderman, my cup of tea, but I ain't trying to disrespect any of you guys either
That’s why I love these movies, they’re funny but you can take them seriously at the same time.
And had real consequences. MCU Spider-Man does not, he only grieves Tony Stark and that's it.
@@funnysonicman Peter is supposed to be relatable, none of that was relatable lol.

Yep that just about sums it up.
Na it really doesn't. There's plenty of shit talking in this video that makes it seem like the movie has plenty of flaws, but its manipulation on the part of the creator. If you actually watch the trilogy after watching this video, its quite clear how biased this guy is, and how he just makes up a bunch of shit as reasons for why the movies are bad, just because he personally doesn't like them. A lazy critique targeted towards a lazy audience
@@suchalad ALERT!! ALERT!! RAIMI FANBOY DETECTED!!!!!!!
@@mjfan8704 ahahah i'm not a fan boy of anything. It's just that the video creator is making up a bunch of B.S, like his comment about spider man beating people up, even though he mostly just catches people into his webs and only beats people when he's got no other choice. Also he's bitching about the science of a movie that has SPIDERMAN in it.....it's a goofy superhero movie and he's criticising it for being.....a goofy superhero movie. It's like yelling at a pear because it's not an apple.
His points about aunt may were so b.s. When she says "you loved him, and he loved you" She is (obviously) saying that whatever happened doesn't matter, what matters is that they cared for each other, even though Pete and uncle ben had some heated moments, it doesn't really matter.
Her speeches in the second and third movies are really sweet. There are youtubers who actually have discussed these scenes and talked about why they are great. This guy just implies that certain moments are bad without explaining why. Like a school kid telling his friends that "yugioh is better than pokemon"
when I watched this video a year ago i was gullible to actually take his word for it, and was a little sad that (they arrn't as good as i remember), but i just rewatched them, then came across this video again, and remembered watching it previously and now seeing how wrong he is, and that this video is just a bunch of shit talking
This youtuber is just making money off internet losers who love to bash normal, genuine character films which have since been replaced by the most cringe movies like gardiens of the galaxy (the soundtrack my god, please kill me)
@@suchalad Yeah, all of that still doesn't take away the fact that you're a fanboy. Nothing wrong with that. It's just that many of you get VERY defensive when it comes to things you like. Drinking game
Take a shot everytime he says "But I'll get into that later"
Let's get into all the times he says "I'll get into that later".
1.) 2:18 : He calls Norman Osborne the greatest character in the movies, and says he'll get into why he likes him so much later.
2.) 7:53: If you really are stretching you could count this, he's talking about how Aunt May is horrible in these movies and how she's just the biggest asshole, and how he'll get into that in the next movie where she's even worse. And he does.
To note: As of 13:30 I still haven't heard a single one of these lines! Worst drinking game ever :(. Oh and in 14:30 he DOES WHAT HE SAYS HE WOULD DO AND TALK ABOUT WHY AUNT MAY IS HORRIBLE IN THE SECOND MOVIE. Soooo yeah bud. As of 16:30 he still hasn't said it again. YOU LIED TO ME!
