It must take a lot of experience to develop an ability to hear exactly what the machine is telling you. I love the Deus2, but I also know that I dig a lot of targets that are junk, because I would feel such guilt walking away from a target that may be valuable.
Excellent video my friend, great examples, and you are so correct. The Deus II is talking to us, and it’s like speaking to someone else with a different language, at first not clear at all, but once you start to understand what it’s been telling you you realize there’s so much more information there than you thought it first. It is truly an amazing detector that you learn to appreciate more and more as time goes on!
Thanks Gary this helps a lot. I have about 100 hours in which it nothing, but this bridged some gaps for me. Just the sound of the iron and the explanation was great. It was just so helpful. I am going to the beach next week and have been playing the beach video over and over so I have it in my mind when I hit the sand. Thanks again.
I like to hear the changes. What I have concern for is at B.Cap 5, does depth suffer? So one day soon, I’m going to do a vid with filters in various states from light filter action to full on. See how that affects performance and depth. Curious, gotta know. Nice vid G.
Another great demonstration Gary. Sensi FT is what I've been using now for a month or 2 and absolutely love it. Don't use XY, its all about the sound for me. Great video, always professionally presented and put together
Hi Gary, I have been detecting for a number of years now and one of the things that I have learned over the years is that I learn more from my machines when I can hear what they are telling me. When a bunch of targets are discriminated out about the only thing you’re learning is how to make adjustments on your machine, but you’re not really learning the machine.
Great Video Gary , searching a Roman pasture site last Sunday on a very worked out site , hammered by the Deus 1 , here are my results from this hunt 1 Roman ring 1 Roman Fibula I Roman catch plate ! Piece of Saxon bridle 22 Roman 3/4th century coins I’m starting to fall in love with my Deus II again!
Hello Garry, it reminds me of good memories to have a clear and ferrous sound at the same time because next to the big ferrous a very small silver currency .. thank you for this video and good WE Toch, Gironde , France
The XY screen has really improved my coin hunting, since most coins in my area are not deep. My success rate has improved and I spend less time digging junk. I noticed that my finds bag has only a fraction of the junk I used to drag home to dispose of (mostly shotgun shells). Completely agree with taking the time to learn the machine, and after 5 months of using the Deus 2, I'm still fine-tuning my skills. What a great machine - would buy it again.
👍👍👏👏 je suis français j’ai regardé des vidéos mais personne ne vous égale gary c’est grâce à vous que je maîtrise mon deus merci pour tout ce que vous faites pour nous 😉

always great to watch, some very useful info there for the new users of the deus 11. i watched your silencer video yesterday again and after doing so ive really got to understand how it works now, would be great to see a new vid on silencer/reactivity for deus 11
Great video.. some good tips.. I've not played around with the settings much yet.. but I do use the big numbers and I have upped the audio response to 6 as I've always used mindlab machines. I think this is helping me hear those deeper targets. 😀
I often wonder what your left hand is doing while you sweep a target ? If you held the RC in your left hand in front of the camera, it would be steady and easy to see.
For those tempting high tones on the edge of iron, how do you know it’s not a coin being partially masked by overlapping iron? Combine that high tone with an 86-88 VID, and it’s very hard to resist digging it. Tips?
I wish you would have identified what program and tone you were using in the start. Also remove the RC from the shaft and hold in front of the camera. Much easier to see while moving the coil over the target.
Hi Gary…I have a very quick question for you, what type of magnet do you use on the end of your pin point…fridge style magnet or stronger type. Thanks Daz
Hi, great videos and really helpful! Can I ask is that a detectors harness you’re wearing and if so where can I get one? Tried the Minelab harness and it was really uncomfortable.
Thanks so much Gary for the instructional videos. I'm really enjoying my Deus with the 11" coil. I'm still waiting for the 9" coil. Do you have any idea when XP will be shipping out single coils for the Deus2? Thanks Terry.
Thank you, Gary. A very informative and helpful video. I was stumped recently when I had a lovely signal with a target Id of 71 and a straight line on the XY screen. When I dug down I found a hot rock or it could be a shard of pottery. Why was this?
Excellent video Gary, really appreciate all your efforts! ,,, looking forward to seeing your next video.,,,, I liked the spade your currently using, is it a XP product? I would like to purchase one.
All I heard of this machine is that its great sepparating iron from nin ferrous but I just got the machine and Ive been 2 hours digging nails.. they all ID as 86 to 90 and everything else lower is aluminum, Only thing I got was 2 quarters that ID More than 93. I used all factory programs still hit nails as non ferrous...
For Scuba detecting in fresh water, unable to read any meters due to zero viz (=discrimination by ear only), and I do not mind digging the occasional nail: which settings do you recommend?
Brilliant and informative. I've had the deus 2 a few weeks now. First couple of times out I dug a fair bit of iron. Last time out didn't dig any iron at all. Slowly working this fantastic machine out before labelling it as rubbish like people do who don't have the patience to learn the machine. I use pitch almost exclusively now. Is there iron volume settings when using pitch? I'm at work so cannot check on my machine.
You shouldn't have to use pitch all the time just because the rest of it is no good...wish people would be honest, this machine shouldn't have been released until it was without problems, a very expensive mistake..
To be honest the time spent trying to ID a target. I've already dug it and 100% confirmed it. I've many time dug what the detector was reading as junk has turned out to be a coin etc.
I've seen 2 videos of 2 different people finding (in test field no1) and (polish lands no2) 60 cm 3 gold coins no1 and 50 cm 1 bronze coin very diff though no2 .no1 clear as a crystal is that even possible?
I would like you to wear your go pro on your chest or head for the shots that you ask us to look at the screen while you whip it back and fourth. It is impossible. With a chest mount you can remove the RC and hold it stationary so we can actually see what your talking about. I don't expect you to answer as you usually dont.
What a great video mate. You covered some really good points this should help a lot of people. Catch you soon. Enjoy tomorrow at Meet The Experts Day 😀

Dig it, your spade is the best discriminator.

Hi Robert, not Hot rock at 76, there may have been a target inside
Hi Gary, The id was 71 and nothing inside. Still confused.
If its a straight line is that not coke and good targets usually L/R line
Iron tones are the most important tone on a detector.
