42 and below thru the 30's is going to be finer, thinner and smaller gold rings and chains. Also happens to be the range of most foil. With the D2, I hunt exclusively by ear....the rc stays in my pocket. Awesome machine.
Thanks for the great videos Scott!! Will definitely be changing some of the programs I have because I haven’t really been looking at anything in the 30s-40s thinking they would just be junk. Keep these great videos coming and again thanks!!
I watched the same video about Minelab Manticore. It seemed to me that XP Deus 2 even recognizes the chain better. True, of course, the results depend on the settings of the programs from the owner! Modern metal detectors have multi-frequency, which was not in Tesoro Lobo Supertraq (analog). It did not see the chain at all because of the frequency of 17.5 kHz. But it saw super well 1 gram of gold even among a pile of iron trash at a depth of 45...50 cm in the ground. Or your detector has an exclusion zone of the discriminator with the ID number as on the chain. Or the scanning speed is simply not suitable (it is necessary to take into account not the mass of the chain, but individual links in the chain! And they are small, chains are always a problem for metal detectors), for example, you can set superfast. And if it is possible to turn on a single frequency, then choose 20 or 40 kHz for the chain and try whether the detector will find it or not. Unfortunately, in your video, I did not see various similar metals or coins as registered by XP Deus 2. It would be nice to know what ID result Deus 2 will show with 333 585, 750 gold sample on rings or just with the same sample, for example 585, but with a different shape and weight of the object. I was scared off by Minelab Manticore precisely because its ID constantly fluctuates from 20 to 80 even if the type of alloy is the same. But with Deus 2 I see a very stable result by ID number, which is very important for searching. But I am pleased with the result itself, that Deus 2 sees the chain at all! So I admit that if the detector is set up correctly, it will be capable of more.
Remove the pre-programmed notch thats built in to some programs (23-25 i believe, there to eliminate hot rocks)....if not you'll miss a lot of chains and bracelets
Not that I’ve found. Especially if using beach sensitive or gold mode. I have an adjustable hoop earring, for example, which when open the Equinox 800 calls iron at a -5. The Deus 2 sees it just fine at around 29.
That makes no sense. If you are using the numbers, on any machine, it will be all over. The Equinox 800 even put open hoop earrings in the iron range (-5), and some gold into the 20s. It comes down to the makeup (metals blended in) and physical design of the gold.
Awesome video Scott! Great info!
Appreciate it!

You've potentially been missing a ton of gold. I've had most of the big gold in 30s and 40s 0_o
Fantastic content!
Much appreciated!
Really good vid .Great help thanks for posting.
No problem 👍

After hunting for a couple years. You don't even use vdi anymore. You use tones
I like all your videos
Well I appreciate you. Thanks!
Let’s go let’s go treasure and adventure 🎉✌️🌺👵🌎❤️🇺🇸
Lets go!
Is it possible to do the same rings and test on a Manticore?
Already did a video on the exact same thing. Check out my playlist for the Manticore its in there and pretty recent.

Good tip Teddy.
Did you actually dig that gold bracelet with the DEUS II ?
There are mounts coming out, Dirt Devil Detecting has some in the works.
The cracked band, if you open the band, it won’t be detected

That depends on how you the coil is presented over the target.
Gold hits where it hits depending on size and shape of gold…
True I won't argue with that.
So use pitch not to loose everything around 😂
Exactly 😅...I've been so surprised to sell it after an year.F##k#ng gold can be everywhere between the ID's.
Uneffective for me.

Good point, I don't a know machine that doesn't ring gold all over the place.
