Hi there, Neil. I'm in New England, not Old England & o'course our coins here are nowhere as varied or old as you find in your back yards but I'm giving your settings a go & will work with them awhile & maybe they'll be fantastic here. Regardless, thank you for the genuine effort and willingness to share what works for you. Thanks!
@@slownlowdetecting Hi Neil, I gave it a go today in a park close to a historic battlefield. This park has been detected for decades, is chock full of iron, and has been picked pretty clean. That said, a couple years back in that park I did find a set of gold cufflinks deep by a boulder using the CTX, but I rarely find any coin there and usually avoid the place. So today using your settings in the Manicore, in 2-3 hours with the sensitivity to 35!!! I found 26 coins including a silver dime. I can honestly say I haven't found that many coins in this park in all my previous efforts there, combined. I really like your setting, so again; thank you! One thing I find interesting is the chatter when the coil is not moving. I put the detector down so I can dig and the Manticore starts talking to itself. The moment I start moving the coil all of the chatter disappears. I found to quell the chatter while I'm digging I put it in pinpoint mode and that's that. A brilliant choice of settings! Cheers!
Good advice, my first day out with the machine was awful, and then for the next few weeks it got better . Been detecting with it now for 5-6 months and it’s always worth listening to others and trying different things . Having watched various u tube clips it now seems to be spot on for me . I do think it needs a tweak on different digs / fields , as no two fields are the same !
Hiya Neil, bought a Manti just before Christmas. I used to have a Nox 800, but had to sell it during the Covid years - but I used your Hunter programme from the book (I think it was yours! 🙈) with great results. The Manti has been a bit tricky and what with work and the weather recently only been out a half dozen times. Will be studying all your videos and trying to put your advice into practice over the weekend. Cheers 🍻
The low and slow advice is very true with the manticore. I’ve noticed that if my coil is off the ground very far do to debris such as soybean stems. The target will sometimes sound good until I break off stems and get close to the ground and then the manticore realizes it’s iron. But before I get close to the ground it’s not a great signal but sound and looks decent on 2D screen. Plus going slow over the target lets the machine figure out what it is. First swing or two might sound decent on an iron target.
I put your settings in my manticore, Neil, and it's running a lot more stable and finding things a lot deeper. Well done and keep the good advice coming.
YOU ARE THE MAN!! Had my Manticore just over a year, basic prog was kind of ok but I dialed in some progs from 'experts' and I assumed they knew much better than me. One of my best sites has just been ploughed and dragged but I was sure my machine wasn't really on song. I had already done a factory preset because the last 'expert's prog was clearly rubbish. So I am trying to winkle out some targets on what I know is a good site but I knew things were not right. Yesterday I spent two whole hours trying to get your freestyle prog loaded, finally made it after a few 'go backs'. Wow, what a difference, today it's a totally different machine and it has proved to be picking up tiny targets, a small part of what was a 17th c trader's token along with a nice full one and a couple of hammereds. The one thing you said that stuck in my mind was 'power' push as much power as possible out of this machine and it works well. Many thanks Neil.
Wow thanks bud i really appreciate the feedback 👍 Every adjustment ive msade in that setting serves a purpose. Each little bit is important. I wanted full power but also stability which i achieved. Also i made the tones like they are so that the smaller thin items stand out that produce a very low tone and get camouflaged by ground spits. So even if users don't like lower tones its best to get used to them as they will hit more targets. Bigger targets but still quite small still have a lowish tone for the same reason, the medium and high tones are obviously bigger and thicker. I have put this setting in every detecting mode. Land, beach and gold. The reasoning on the other adjustments ive made will take to long to write 📝
Nice vid. Low n slow has been working for me since about 1980. I see lots of people swinging like the Grim Reaper on Judgement day, no headphones, walking 10 mph. 🤣 Hey, they leave plenty to find so I'm not complaining.
Just found a old bras zippo today and some coins whit the old freestyle program 😁 I'm going to put the new feestyle program in and let you know Thank you neil 👍🏻
A good watch Neil even though I don’t own one. I like you wittering on at the start lol. I don’t consider hardly anyone that does a RUclips channel an expert. Especially if they have sponsorship and this and that. Been there done it. I guess lots of people are just looking for advice and are easily impressed by some channels cos they have a fancy logo lol. I shall ask Adam for his Deus settings next time I speak to him. See if they differ much from mine. Good luck mate. Slow and low will never end. 😊
The M9 coil is amazing, it's separation in iron is top notch, it has depth capabilities beyond it's size and is very sensitive while also being very stable 👍
Great video Neil and these settings freestyle are an another level really good. You said about using beach deep with these settings I take it beach to land but question would these be any good on the beach as I detect on beach aswel. Cheers Kev
I see this set up asa kind of "dumbing down" of the machine where several layers of filtering (Ferrous Limits "bordering," segmented audio and all tones audio) act to screen for the cleanest most distinct responses. When you do this, it takes additiional tuning (Sens, Rec Spd, overall frequency, exact sweep speed) to get your targets sounds to stand out well. There are no magical settings for the Manticore, just templates that let you begin the process of tuning the machine for your conditions.
Ive run this system since it came out--in both the iron-on and no coke versions for a few hours today--in dense iron. Kind of reminds me of AT high trash in that there is a lot going on before you get a beep.
Have tried everyone's settings. And the manicores done nothing for me. Have been using my NOX and the NOX is still notorious. Have just found the manti digs small bits of metal and lead but no improvement on finding small coins the NOX as missed on land whats been hammered with the NOX. If these settings find small coins what the NOX as missed. A will 100% give you feed back and let you no
The only thing a don't like about the tones. Is i like the higher tones for the lower numbers the lower tones for the bigger numbers. If that makes sense.
Thanks Neil, i like you're no nonsens style, thumbs up👍👍👍😊
So nice of you👍
@slownlowdetecting hi neil is this OK to use with the m9 thank you
I can't thank you enough Neil! I tuned in my Manticore as you have suggested and have just had my best day in the field!!
That's brilliant Steve and thank you for the feedback 👍

Thanks very much ❤️
I received my manticore yesterday and I've put your settings in for the weekend. Thank you for the walk through settings 👍
Thank you Neil you always make the complex seem easier and more understandable. Step by step 👌🏻😊
Thanks Ang ♥!
I like his style. Go into this setting nice and chill he said. Lol you can always factory reset if you need to. 👍

Many thanks once again for another great video Neil, I can’t make myself swing fast, no matter how quick the recovery is! 👏👏👏
Slower is faster 👍

Nice video, I'll be sure to give this a try! Do you know where the pinpointer is on the 15inch coil for the manticore
Yes its in the center but a little tiny bit forward of it, just a little.
Thanks good advice
Thanks 😊
I used your settings and found loads thanks mate 👍
Cheers Dave 👍
Mate i put this program in my Manticore and pulled up 15 Roman coins, absolutely fantastic video 😊😊
Hi was this with the m9 coil thank you
@@markmoore7269 no mate stock coil 11 inch
In my opinion you lose depth
@RobertHudd-bs7iv cheers mate thanks for replying 👍

Hi Robert, depth isn't the most important thing, separation and winkling abilities in highly mineralized and iron infested soil is more important 👍💪
I'll try your settings tomorrow. Happy New Year mate
Sorry I'm late and happy New Year thanks 👍

Dumbing down Clive nah 😀 try it and see 👍
Dumbed down nah 😊 not my style love,
Try it, the additional tuning is down to you.

Mantico coming tomorrow. Spot your explanation on time. Thank you
Nice one, hope it works for you ond good luck 🍀
