Actually the coil is the actual detector and the little controller with the display is just to display what the coil says. You can use the coil with only the LCD headphones from XP and not even need to have the computer (controller).
Both the lads I detect with have been using Deus for a good few years....me, I was a Fisher man, old 1266x, then T2 and G2+...A Golden Mask Relictum, Knokta Makro Anfibio Multi even had two Rutus....finally bought a Deus 2....Wow ..Love it, should have listened to my mates a few years ago ;0)
Nice review wish you did a little review on the puck.I am running Ws6master wich is the puck without remote .Was able to break into the deus family little cheaper .Great machine.Thank for review.
Good review , been MD ing 2 years but I am hard of hearing I wear 2 hearing aids , you said it’s all about it’s all about the sound so would this be a good MD for me ? Keith
You can change all the tones to suit your hearing as I also am hard of hearing I have changed the tones to be higher in my ear :) but you can go off display that has many options to choose too :) hope this helps:)
.. cxt knocks out iron .. 800 knocks out iron .. why does the deus2 love iron so much .. if you have any tips to get rid of iron . i would be most great full,,,, emp magnet .. one day its fine .. next day in the same field its like it is on speed ..
Old Ther dinosaur here I've used everything from old beachcomber & Garrett groundhog upwards and used to Tesoro SS, thinking of gettingDues is the XP Deus 1 called Deus "lite", happy hunting💰💰💰
I've run the Deus for seven years my good lady five years she runs the light. Never had an issue. Just keep an eye on the pin in the cam lock. You have to push them in every year or two. It's expensive but worth every penny. Saves a fortune in batteries. You didn't mention the mi6 pinpointer . And it's link straight to controller. Thank you for a great honest review. Many thanks wasp and Helen 🐝
Great review Grim. I've got the Ws6 master version, totally agree with magnetic coil charger, that would be the icing on the cake. Other than that, Mi6 pinpointer links wirelessly to headphones. Build quality is excellent. As you say, 5 year warranty!. All in all, I love mine.
Hi. I just wanted to ask a question if that’s ok. With the ws6 master version if you have the attached to the stem so you can see the vdi numbers etc can you still have the headphones connected wirelessly? Hope that makes sense. Thanks
@@jamescamfield4828 Hello. Yes you can. On the stem with wireless connectivity or as I do on my wrist in a watch type holder. Headphones, master console and pin pointer are all wireless.
Thanks Grim for the honest and balanced review. I currently have the Equinox 800 and ctx 3030 which the ctx I've used only a handful of times. I'm going to sell my CTX to buy a deus 2, as I struggle with weight due to a previous severe arm injury which restricts me even though I have the harness. Your review has now reassured me to purchase the deus 2, cheers pal 👍
Good review mate. I'm on a Nox 700. The only reason I haven't had a Deus is the fact I don't like the look of the control box screen. I think if they made it more modern I'd probably go for one.
Great review, I love mine as well. I have been detecting on and off since I was 12 years old. This is a powerful machine. Someone getting into the hobby for the first time would probably get burned out on it. Love the tones that this machine can produce. I would love to see XP come out with a 6 inch coil for it. You would think that with the battery technology it would be possible. Thanks again for sharing. Did a sub and rang that bell so I can watch more.
HEY!!! so I just came across your channel and I did subscribe. I've owned a cheap detector now for a little while and saved some cash so I can buy 1 QUALITY MACHINE. I'm not gonna be buying detectors every couple months like some people but I want something good now. I have 2,500 for just the detector and would value your opinion on 1. I'm in nj on the east coast of the the states and looking for waterproof ocean proof, beach sand, and hard dirt detecting. What would you choose with 2,500 to spend(im not looking for value for money, I'm looking for the best I can get within 2,500 dollars)? A few people now tell me the manticore or deus 2 but leave it at that... I love to get your opinion on 1 or the other UNLESS YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT FAVORITE..... THANKS
Honestly I haven’t used the deus 2 under water myself but have seen good results with other guys using it under water I love my deus 2 and it’s my go too machine buddy
I've got the xp bag, the fact that everything fits into the bag is amazing. Easy to get to where your going and great for storage.. it is an excellent machine. 👌
Great review Grim. As a deus1 user was thinking about getting the 2....But maybe not as you stated in 1 of your comments that the first deus was as good as the 2. Thank you
I've had both D1 and D2. I also detect on occassion with someone who has the D1, and he finds just as much as me, sometimes more. Single freq over multi 🤔 Let's not forget all the coins and artifacts found long before multi frequency came on the scene.
I've run a D1 for a few years only really on beaches, great in the dry, but no good in the wet (yes, I knew, but I thought it may have been better). Just got a D2 and can't wait to hit the beaches again. My one recommendation to XP would be to maybe drop a bigger or another battery in the coil, it would be nice to have a 10+ hour capability without having to fork out for another coil. Here is a thought... what about a user replaceable battery? Thanks for the video! 😜
Deus 2, my go too machine, love it. As you stated it is excellent at finding tiny targets. Mi6 pinpointer icing on the cake. Being a little deaf it's nice to hear it through the headphones. Cheers.
I have the Deus 11 and i like it a lot. As for the 800 ? SELL IT. And buy the 900 . Really good and much better for the beach. Not 100% perfect but near and really light. You would then have all you need. As for the Manticore? I think , and i dont have one but going buy the reviews i have seen and seeing the machine it is only a very little bit better than the 900 and thats not in construction. Both are far better than the 800.
Hm, I think for its price, a lot of things could have been done better. The whole charging system is crap! Why didn‘t they go magnetic? My charging cable has a newer plastic connector for the RC.. doesn‘t look, like it‘s going to hold up long. You can only charge the coil with the coil cover attached.. why?! The RC came off several times .. it‘s too heavy for that old mechanism. The shaft is a joke for its price - with the 11“, coil that thing wobbles like a salami in the wind. Even the low-entry detectors feature carbon fibre these days, it should be a standard in this price range. The font used for the IDs is difficult to read on that small screen. Low contrast at night, super slow refreshrates at sub 0 temperatures. The buttons are somewhat hard to press and positioned bad - have to crumble my thumb to pinpoint, so I don‘t use PP anymore.. they‘re also not illuminated at night. After 3 months of use, the coil looks like my 5 years old Nox coil. We‘ll see, how it holds up. The antenna attachment is .. subpar.. On one beach I have EMI issues.. nothing really helps, not even switching to single frequency. Other than that the machine works fine and I had some awsome finds. As a beach hunter, I feel like the Nox 800 is still very good and equipped with a carbon fiber shaft, it even doesn‘t feel heavier than the D2 with 11“ coil. The D2 seems to be designed and balanced for the 9“ coil (have both).
I have Deus 1 and two and both from conception, there is a fault with some units via connecting the unit to the stem, I’m very careful with all my gadgets and equipment, the side pieces broke off and also the backing tape peeled away and this happened after only a few uses, some units do slide on better than others, pot luck, the shop replaced the whole unit and I bought a replacement unit holder that stops it being knocked of stem as was a regular issue. Yes I also agree headphones do feel cheap quality compared to many and even a £30 Mpow headphone feel way better quality for the expensive price tag, yes they do work and can use all day and recommend 100% on windy beaches, charging the unit and the coil is fiddly and could be much better, still amazing machines The screw was missing on mine from new and seen other people with on Utube also with missing screw, so it’s possible your was not there in the first place lol
As a long term Deus user I’d like to give you a little tip. Buy a spare set of charging leads ready for when they let you down and be ready with a 3D printed charging clip off E-Bay👍
Spot on review Lukas, a while back I bought the deus 1 and a lite set up off of Sid Perry and loved it from day one. Then a few months back I was lucky enough to win a deus 2 and like yourself rate it as near perfect. My only criticism ( my own fault) was that I used the deep program and found it only lasted 4 hours on a full charge . Good luck 🤞
Great review! Think My wife would divorce me if I bought one of these on top of the the rest of the collection, but nothing like a good review from someone with acres of experience to make you feel like you are missing something.
Deus (Classical Latin: [ˈd̪e.ʊs], Ecclesiastical Latin: [ˈd̪ɛː.us]) is the Latin word for "god" or "deity". God Machine ! Love XP ♥️ Great review Grim 🤞🏻🍻
I’ve had my Deus 1 for eleven years now, it’s been used and abused and apart from a new battery in the control box it’s never skipped a beat.
Deus 1 was special stick
Actually the coil is the actual detector and the little controller with the display is just to display what the coil says. You can use the coil with only the LCD headphones from XP and not even need to have the computer (controller).

My 1st machine, needed mainly for scuba.
Just bought one and awaiting delivery 😍😁👍 ooh eck!
Just bought one of these can’t wait to get it!
I love mine :)
Bought it a month ago still have not got out with it but once at the beach and dug 1m hole...seems that salt water and rubles give fake signal.
Having confidence. 🎉
30 plus years detecing grim , I’ve had them all ,personally the best machine I’ve ever used brilliant 👍

Get the Deus II and the BH01 bone conductor headphones. These would probably be a good choice for you. Might want to check directly with Deus on this.
@@frankziemski2583best choice, i bet they work on land also, the headphones i mean.
.. cxt knocks out iron .. 800 knocks out iron .. why does the deus2 love iron so much .. if you have any tips to get rid of iron . i would be most great full,,,,

Hi!
Can you change the batteries when they dont work anymore?
Can you pair random headphones to the machine?
Thanks for agreat video!
batteries are replaceable on all units - it's a modular detector. No you can't pair any headphones with the Deus 2
Superb honest review
If XP did a magnetic charging connection like the minelabs it would tempt me.
a magnetic charging coupling won't work near any wireless coil as it would interfere with the unit
Ive had mine since it came out great machine
Grim your a legend mate thank you 🙏🏻👍🏻

Good, honest review, it has mirrored my thoughts of the machine. Hadn't found any hammered until I picked it up, I am upto 3 in 6 digs now
Great honest opinion what about depth on coins etc

Hey, have you tried a Not 900? Interested in your views against the Deus 2? I have the 900. Never tried a Deus... thanks
I like it along with my Manticore all I need the coil I prefer is the 9” great for the woods
Is the deus 2 better than the manticore?
Us the Deus 2, to detect your lost screw!
I have the Deus 11 and i like it a lot.

Grim, I have a Deus 1. Do you think it's worth the upgrade to Deus 2?

so how much/
Flimsy construction. Charging cable breaks down quickly. Mediocre depth on coins
