Hi, Howie. This is Jeff. Met you this past week at Deerfield. Thanks for the video. I feel as if I will be an expert with the Deus II before I unbox it! HH.

Hey Jeff, if you become an expert before unboxing it, you might just be the next treasure hunting legend! Glad I can help.

Thanks for the SUB and you are correct.... I absolutely LOVE the Deus II.... she's been good to me so far. Gonna take her underwater soon too now that the ocean is calming down. Additionally, thrilled how it finds targets so deep - will be spending time on the treasure coast also this summer. And finally, love how it breaks down quickly and easily into my backpack for traveling. Looks like you travel with it also - that's awesome.

The Deus 2 loves Bobby pins

Haha, right? The Deus 2 has a knack for picking up the little things! Gotta love it! The low VDI iron tones on the beach (below 3) are generally nails or pins like that, but I dig them anyway most of the time. Thanks for coming along with me.

I just got my Deus 2 and wondering is the wireless antenna required to be used at the beach, or just if the coil is submerged in water.

Hi there, and thanks for watching.
The Deus 2 RC (Remote Control) unit, and the WS6 both connect wirelessly to the coil. The RC is waterproof as well. There is no need to use the antenna unless the coil is submerged more than about 6 inches of water. Saltwater blocks the wireless signals, and the antenna wire assists with bringing the signals back to the RC and/or the WS6 unit. I tend to keep my antenna on, just because it is not getting in my way at the moment. I will be getting a new carbon fiber shaft in the near future and will feed the wire through that. Then, I'll use the RC on that shaft, and use it primarily for the water. I'll keep the WS6 unit separately on the other shaft and use that primarily on the land. Hope that helps. Cheers, Howie.

Thanks Howie, that's just what I needed to know.
      Take care,
