    Hi John,
as proposed I testet the Jethro Program (thank you for sharing) against SFT and DHC programs (both with disc 7.0, full tones, Silencer 1, bottle cap 0, notch 7 - 35). Test target was a medium-sized silver coin (.640, 23.5mm, 5.2 grams), which I buried at 9" depth in my garden 2 years ago. All three programs had no problem picking up the target, but the Jethro Pr. not as loud and clear as the other two (same audio response and reactivity settings on all three of them). Winner by as slight margin was SFT (as expected all programs work best with 14 kHz Max.Frequ.). I´m afraid to say, I don´t see any advantage in the Jethro Pr. (at least not with this particular target under the particular soil conditions in my garden).
    Best regards from Austria

Too funny.... I was using the diving program on fields back when the Deus 2 got released. My buds were laughing at me but it works well on deep low conductors as you know. Another sidebar is you can help out with EMI such as power lines by using the Salt Sense.

Looking forward to getting it at the weekend and heading up to an Iron Age dig site to scan the spoil heaps for anything that was missed. I spent 2 weeks in September on the dig, and the archaeologist in charge gave me permission. (Just waiting on final confirmation). I used it today for the first time and found a lovely 1920 sixpence, an Isle of Man Eagle and Child coin and a Victoria Penny. I would be interested to know how you compare it to the Deep HC programme which is what I usually use. I did swap around with both programmes just whilst I got used to the signal sounds. Every time you say Jethro my mind goes straight to "Jethro Bodine." I can't help it. I've tried to stop it. I just can't help it. So I just smile and chuckle to myself and try to put it out of my mind. It is a 1970's thing. You may not remember or it may not even be a thing in Scotland.

I had two Roman bronze fibula silvecut quarter gold ring and lead cloth seal. I have not seen you dig any Roman fibula but yes you do get small brass.try both the forager jethro against the fast program. I was a bit surprised the fast program beat both and picked up my small fibula ware the jethro and forager did not.

I really wish people would explain why they made the decisions they use in their programs, but unfortunately the video does not.
    Start with Program #10, "Diving"
    Disc 0
    Sens 90-95
    Salt Sens 7
    Freq 24 (or 14)
    Iron Vol 1
    Reactivity 2.5 or as needed
    Full Tones
    - 0.0 Vol 1
    - 0.8 Vol 5
    - 30.0 Vol 10
    - 85.0 Vol 10
    - 99.0 Vol 10
    Full Tones Offset 5
In Options, set Audio Filter to 3
He uses square tones, but whatever.
    ---
I just tested very briefly in my yard but the EMI was horrible. Might have to reduce Salt Sensitivity, but we'll see how it works in the field. EMI at my house is generally pretty bad anyway.
