The Lowlands is a beautiful song and Jaime Hanna, Jonathan McEuen did an outstanding job....There's no question that they're carrying on wonderful talents. God Bless!
What a stunning rendition of this piece of music. The boys were pitch perfect; the group was pure magic; a superb reflection on the writer, Gary Scruggs.
Proof that music with words may be the highest art we humans can produce. Right here is perfection in songwriting, in melodies with words and music being played, and lastly, simple and soulful singing of those words and melodies. Wow!
The vocal blend these two have is off the charts amazing. Wish they were still working together as the voices sound like they were meant to sing together.
The genes were passed in...period! Just a gorgeous and haunting song. Performed flawlessly by the two boys. I would have paid for tickets just for this song alone. The chorus could have been harmonized but would not have the same emotional moat as done in unison.
country music has gotten to fake and to commercial But this is REAL and the best Iv heard in years If all country music was this good Id be the biggest fan
This is a beautiful rendition of this song that will be hard to ever forget. I had a great opportunity to hear Jonathan song twice over the last month. He is great to listen too.
11 years ago today, as FacePlant reminds me, I watched this vid for the first time. "You know that I'm no failure though my victories are few; I'm tryin my best but, there's too much here to do." Frankly, and unfortunately, as I've gotten older I think our "victories" need to be measured differently and a little more frequently than they used to be, depending on the 'season' we're in. The harmonies, picking, strumming, sliding, haunting diverse musicalities, and the lyrics of this song just grip me every time....❤ beautiful 💝! THANK you, NGDB, for passing your incredible talents and soul piercing art to yer wonderful boys!
This is a good rendition of my favorite song on The Scruggs Brothers album from 1972. I saw Gary and Randy play live around that time. I can't believe they're both gone now. If you've never heard their original version, here's a link: ruclips.net/video/X5R8XlRzqUA/видео.html There might be one with better sound somewhere on YT, but this is the one I found.
This is absolutely outstanding! How is it that this has been posted on RUclips for eleven years and I'm just seeing this now? Better late than never, I guess. Have these two recorded together? Do they play out live together here in 2024?

It's gorgeous, isn't it? Haunting, that hitch or cry in their voices, someone who may have lost everything. Gorgeous harmonies.
Marvelous sound from that banjo. I could listen to it all day long.

Legally they are first cousins but since Jeff and John Married twin sisters, genetically they are half brothers

Anyone know if their first album (when Jackson Browne was a member) is on RUclips?
