Jerry Douglas is beyond greatness. God made only one resonator player. At your service right here. He has forgotten more about that instrument than will probably ever be known.
man--Allison has the voice of an Angel!!!!!!!!!! When it is my time to go to heaven, I am certain I will be hearing her voice at the door!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
Jerry Douglas has a musical ability that is steps above others.....he not only can play lightning fast, but can ALSO bring a musical FULLNESS in that dobro simultaneously......chords and music with his fast licks combined. He sounds full even WITHOUT a band, much less with one. But add Awesome Bluegrass Pickers and Vocalists....you have some of the GREATEST Music this Earth has to offer!!
There's a reason why she is so genuine. She plays what she wants. Not what producers are pushing. She is and will be a legend. No one comes close to her ability to sing.
I've loved this bands music since I first heard it as a young child. There will never be another group of musicians so tuned with each other. The sound they create together moves my soul.
I partied with the dude on mandolin on the East Cape of Baja Mexico, he would show up at sunset every night and play for like 20 people right on this beach bar. Was a great month
Alison is the single most pitch perfect singer. I had seats back in 2001? at the Santa Fe Opera house to see them one evening and had the pleasure of running into her in a shop in Santa Fe, NM and had a little convo. An enchanting evening as the show was delayed by thunderstorms.....Was a semi open air venue...even when they took to the stage the backdrop was the Jemez Mountains, lighting, thunder and the smell of summer rain in the high desert air. One of those musical memories.
For four decades, I really enjoyed Dickey Lee performing Catfish John because I could identify with his situation. Then I discovered this absolutely brilliant and deeply emotional performance of Allison and her band! Wow!
Apart from the superb 🎉performance of all the musicians I also want to congratulate the sound engineers/sound mixing team for this World Class performance!
Randy Scruggs' contribution to these projects is often overlooked. I've been reacquainting myself with his work with his father Earl in the recordings the Earl Scruggs Revue put out, and highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys this type of music. I love it when musical families have such talented dynasties and continuums, which is why I love the NGDB having their progeny continue in the newer incarnations of the band.
I've seen the Dirt Band several times. I even shook John McCune's hand. I saw the Scruggs Revue, too. I think I qualify as having seen history being made.
Thank you for singing that song, it’s one of my favorite. First time I heard it was in a movie with George Clooney.Sorry I can’t remember the name. Blessings to the two of you.❤️
❤❤❤❤❤ the fist time i fell in ❤❤❤❤ her voice w0s like the river down the ,oujtin ❤❤❤❤❤ but she met black fish joe she ate it cotting duggans my kin folk ❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxxxxx
I really enjoy this song; even more than that, though the SOUND on this recording is just fantastic! Maybe it's just serendipity and something that happens to work well with the headphones I have, but it's like seeing color where I had been seeing black and white. I don't know who did what, but I sure hope they keep doing it! 🙂

Just can't get enough of this treasure.
Look a real blue grass and country female vocalist that doesn't have to act and dress sleazy. Just 100% musical talent.
Is sleazy bluegrass even a thing?
Can you refer some sleazy ones to me??
Beautiful.lady.has..nothing.to.proof.what.a.talent.❤❤❤
...Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?☮🐉👁
😊how 'bout it's just good music?🐬🎵👍🎸
Now we know what an angel sounds like when she sings.
PERFECT ❤😇👫😇
Can't agree more
No one could do this better…. Absolutely NO ONE, close your eyes and hear a angel!
And what one looks like!

I am sure the first voice I hear won't be in heaven and it will be my ex wife's.

I’ve watched this once a month for 12 years………and it’s still perfect in every way.

Wonderful piece of music! No matter who she sings with, or the song they sing, Alison makes everyone she sings with sound fabulous.
There never will be another Allison Kraus and the Union Station. Best country ol'timey group ever. I miss them so❤❤❤
What happened to them?
I've loved this bands music since I first heard it as a young child. There will never be another group of musicians so tuned with each other. The sound they create together moves my soul.
Well stated 😂
DITTO!....🥰🥰
Alison is my absolute favorite female singer of all time, along with Karen Carpenter, and I'm 65 years old.
She may be the best singer I ever heard. Outstanding with a wall full of Grammys to prove it
Her voice is amazing, musicianship is fantastic. Generational talent.
My eyes are full of tears, for such a beautiful performance and the sorrow of southern history. Gentle
The Nitty Gritty Union Station. Could it get any better? ❤🤠
I partied with the dude on mandolin on the East Cape of Baja Mexico, he would show up at sunset every night and play for like 20 people right on this beach bar. Was a great month

So hope all the folks from the great state of GÈOGIA are happy ❤
This is one of the most relaxing songs...makes you remember the good times from your childhood as well.

Apart from the superb 🎉performance of all the musicians I also want to congratulate the sound engineers/sound mixing team for this World Class performance!

Saw him as a young shredder, he certainly could "bring it". His playing here is very polished and clean.

Now that's a big finish!!
Blessings and Shalom in Him
Most beautiful beautiful music ever!
I love this kind of music! The banjo is my favorite instrument after the human voice. Can a sad song even be played on a banjo? I hardly think so.
It's still one of my favorite songs .
That is just pure gold. WoW!!
The musicians are wonderful, Alison Kraus sings beautifully, and the story is so moving, sad, and reminiscent of a time gone by.
I believe she is the best at everything she does. She is also lovely ❤.
This is such a beautiful song and fun to listen too!😃
It is special when a pop song becomes an international anthem of resilience especially for women.
Absolutely perfect pitch. Goose bumps.
Great song.
I love this song and her singing it with the "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band"
This young lady is an excellent fiddler. More power to you!
I keep listening to this very fun and enjoyable tune😁
What.a.beautiful.woman.with.a.wonderful.voice.❤❤
Love that tune.
Love this group & love this song, Very nice!
My mom had that song that I would play on her turn table in 1973.
Everybody has a Catfish John in the fam. If you don't know who it is, then it's YOU! LOL
They do an awesome job, very nice guitar, I love that burst. Versital guitar, and can be a loud guitar. Great demo
So very

After hearing this song done by so many different artists there’s just nothing like her voice and these players.
Allison you're great
No auto tone there, such a voice Suttle articulation an range an so humble ❤
Would be cool the hear her do this song with another Jerry, that used to do it.
I'd sure like to see the whole studio session ... it must have been awesome.
This song reminds me of the ballad of Curtis Loew by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
