I never get tired of hearing this song, and Carl & Ashley do a great job. Carl & I are from the same hometown, Louisville, Mississippi, in the east-central part of the state. I graduated high school with his younger sister. At age 14, Carl was touring with the bluegrass act, Jim & Jesse. Five years later he joined Glen Campbell's band, and Glen said that Carl was the best banjo player that the ever saw, and he produced several of Glen's albums. Carl is a prolific songwriter, and top of the line musician, and has worked with many of the biggest names in the music industry. And he's a pretty good singer, too! And beyond all of this, he is just a good, decent, down-home guy. I saw him in our local Walmart several months ago, and had a brief conversation with him. He's still a small-town, country boy at heart.
Wow Carl actually sounds somewhat like Glen on this. I have watched this video 50 times or more and I never noticed how much Carl sounds like Glen in the early part of the song.
It says a lot about Carl that he was Glen's guitarist when Glen was one of the best ever. And Ashley, so beautiful and a gifted banjoist for sure and then of course there's that voice. Talented lady. Love this version of the song they do so well together. Rest in peace Glen, your legacy is being carried on beautifully!
It’s an easy and beautiful song to sing - however this version is really setting the bar up where Glen first put it. Glen had arguably one of the finest vocal tones ever and Carl is bringing it all back with precision and clarity. To be a phenomenal banjo picker is one thing but to be able to sing a Campbell classic with an equivalent tone is a true gift.
Thank you for this! Ashley, I am so touched by the honor you show your father and for the artist you are in your own right. Thank you, Carl and all of you for keeping his memory alive. What a gift: music and you all. 🙏💕🙏
So good and I am glad Ashley is keeping her dad’s music going and I so enjoyed listening to her play the banjo you go girl and thank Carl you are so blessed to have him for a god farther ❤
We are blessed 😊God has come looking out for our freedom. Let’s all acknowledge that is time to thank our Creator for what we are finally witnessing a miracle. We need to do our part and go out and vote 💙🇺🇸🙏 not hate love for those souls confused to understand that division does not work ..
Amazing version of one of Glen's great numbers. I'm sure he would have been very proud, if He could have seen both Ashley and Carl playing this number together.
Carl - my banjo hero over 25 years, since I've got tabs of his arrangements in book by Bob Forest. CJ is great singer and guitar picker as well, he is treasure. Regards from Slovakia.
When I was 6 me mon and Dad and my little brother when to see Sullivan family one Sunday night. Us the preacher and his wife were the only ones there. They just sung their ❤️ Hearts out. Precious People
This guy is good. Such a smooth, crooning voice. I really like Ashley. She seems precious. I love her song honoring her father I’ll Do the Remembering.
Glen Campbell's greatest lesson of all was to do a good song simple and straight without unnecessary fooling around with timing or delivery - which is why he'll always be the best.
I Love You and Your Beautiful Wife who seems perfect for you.And Charles and his lovely wife who fits perfectly. May God keep blessing your entire family. I'll miss you terribly!!!😢
I was 16 in 57. Had a great year! My dad bought me a black 57 chevie that could nearly fly! A couple of us watched American Bandstand while talking on the phone on our party line! 😅
Thank you sir you do a great service to your nation. I'm sure you have helped some to renew the hope for a better tomorrow for all. I'm glad you are well, and still making incredible music.
The goofball is Danny Hutton, my fave😁 and sings lead on 'Black & White' another banger! Chuck Negron has the 'stache, and Cory Wells has the bluesy voice. ps-you probably did hear this song before "Let's go!"
I was a kid in Traverse City Mi when GA sang there in the late 1960's for the first time. The Cherry Capital Chorus hosted them. It was one of their very first concerts. In 1981, they came back and sang at Interlochen Arts Academy with The Renegades from 1965(?)Championship. CCC taped the show. I have a cassette tape of it. But when my father tenor, Al Galloway died in 2003, I played it over and over to the point that it broke. Not sure if it can be restored. Someone in TC may have the master copy. I might be able to find out who.
Is there anything more beautiful than this? 🎶💙 Help me my time machine take me back quickly to the 70s and 80s when there was quality music and love in the heart 🇧🇷
I don’t live very far from Delight Arkansas and worked with a young man who was born there can u believe it he never heard of Glen Campbell! Well Glen was around way before this young man came slong

Cool. I’m from Clarksdale, Mississippi - “Coahoma the Blues.” Some great guitar players came from Mississippi! ♥️🎸🤠😎
@@mechcavandy986 I know where Clarksdale is!

It looks like there is about 1000 years of experience on that stage. It shows, too. Just brilliant.
Not sure why, but this brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful, simply beautiful

Yep, Bravo you two!

Reminds me of Glen Campbell sure miss his great guitar playing and amazing vocals, but good job here and Ashley has got her father's talent!!!
That is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and heard. Mesmerizing to say the least!
Lovin Ashley & Carl's performance. Be nice to see the author of this song, John Hartford who played alongside Glen Campbell, mentioned & given credit.
My thoughts exactly. Give credit to the author, John Hartford.
Not necessary
THIS SONG has got to be straight from Hank Jr's heart and soul 👍

I grew up listening to Glenn and all his family are talented and blessed wow! All this talent
One of my favorite songs to sing and pick with my band on my 5-string Bacon & Day Silverbell 1920's banjo! This is LOVELY!
Glen Campbell's greatest lesson of all was to do a good song simple and straight without unnecessary fooling around with timing or delivery - which is why he'll always be the best.
You know a musician is awesome when they have orchestras lovingly playing along.
Fantastic! What a performance❤🎶❤️
Beautiful music. Thank you both!
His voice is wonderful
One of my all time favorite songs. Possibly John Hartfords greatest song.
I really enjoy this version.
A few artists tend to rush it.
This pace and his voice suit me - "mellow"
