I'm not young anymore, but you guys make me feel young again!
Best band ever! I love how everyone gets to sing - not just one taking the spotlight. This is what has made them successful all these years. May the Dirt Band stay forever young!! Love to them from a fan for over 50+ years!!
When you have an incredible, longtime band record a legendary song and the drummer also takes the lead riffs on harmonica.... that is EPIC!!!
Ee
I’ll say! But you said it!
Jimmy has always been great… ♥️
Thank you. Just Thank You. You guys have been friends with all of us for over 50 years--that's an accomplishment. Thanks, again.
When I bought "20 Years of Dirt" on cassette back in the 80's, a lot of my friends said NGDB was old! Now, nearly 4 decades later, I'm still listening to that same album on my phone, plus lots of new stuff! Glad you guys are staying "Forever Young". Will there be "60 Years of Dirt" in 2026?
It's great but I'm still partial to the original ruclips.net/video/9sldgunY3Fw/видео.html
Kudos to you all, still the greatest band, TY and God bless!!!
Everything these guys do turns to gold!!!!
A great cover of a Bob Dylan song. I love this. Cheers! ✌️
Great version, and great Bob Dylan lyric.
My Nitty Gritty Dirt Band experience started way back in 1986. I heard "Stand a little Rain" and it immediately was a symphony for my life at that time. In 1992, Not Fade Away had just been released and they were in my town. I took my then girlfriend to see them, she LOVED "Little Angel" so much, we got to interact with the guys for a little while, and it was like a new experience. Such wonderful, gracious and caring people. Her and I got married in 1994, and met the guys again in 1997 at the Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, Alabama. She was actually expecting our first child at that time. We were checking into the hotel and in front of us was John Kay of Steppenwolf, there for the same concert. Walking to our room, we saw Ibby, and we got enough nerves to ask him if the guys would sign a picture from the 1992 concert, and they did. Since then there have been a lot of years, a lot of band changes, but the band sound stays the same. My late wife would love everything that was released, and had special connections with some songs off the "Circle" albums. She's in heaven today but I still can remember the concert in 1992 and sweet memories every time I hear Jeff Hanna sing. Thanks for the lifetime of memories and as Jimmy Martin said "Hold whatcha got". Truly musical Ambassadors to me.
My husband and I saw that tour in 1992, in Seattle at the Paramount Theatre, our oldest son still remembers that we played their albums all the time when our boys were little. We took him with us too see NGDB, in Bellingham at this huge gorgeous old Fox theater that was completely renovated to its original glory, in 2012, in October, for their finale, they wove The Weight together with Will The Circle Be Unbroken, to pay homage to Levon, who died in April 2012. Everyone was on their feet singing and crying along, somehow, my husband missed Levon Helm’s death, we had to tell him, sadly. My son manages a Restaurant in a store in Bham, and he had to stop playing The Band, because he got tired of explaining The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, apparently some younger people have canceled The Band. 😢I let my sons know that I want The Circle play at my funeral someday. My mom just passed away and my family and I, made sure my mom had the most beautiful funeral I have ever been to. My dad is deaf with dementia and he is in hospice dying, we just got back from our third long visit to Southern California, to see my dad. I love that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band came out of Long Beach, coz so did I❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!
I posted a comment asking for more. And here they are💥. Feeling blessed
Such a great band all these years 👍
The NGDB is awesome as they have always been. I got all my kids now in their 20's hooked on the band asiwas in my youth
God bless you guys and thank you for being you!!
Thank you, Dirt Band. Followed you since early days. A very dear friend knew you in LA - when you slid away from jug band, he went on as Bare Remnants, but considered you lifelong friends singly and collectively great musicians.
Dirthead for over 40 years.they keep getting better..
always be courageous.. .. what memories.. fantastic.
I recognize those younger faces! Sadly seem to be missing a familiar face on fiddle. Please come to Florida and play some music. Only got to see you guys once in St. Thomas.
I still love "Make a Little Magic." I hope that's a concert staple.
May God bless and keep you always May your wishes all come true May you always do for others And let others do for you May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung And may you stay forever young May you stay forever young May your hands always be busy May your feet always be swift May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift May your heart always be joyful May your song always be sung And may you stay forever young May you stay forever young Forever young Forever young May you stay Forever young May you grow up to be righteous May you grow up to be true May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you May you always be courageous Stand upright and be strong And may you stay forever young May you stay forever young Forever young Forever young May you stay Forever young May you stay Forever young
Better than ever!! Alive and kicking, thank you very much! Great stuff!
Going to go see them next month! 😁
Welcome back guys, i've been with you since Uncle Charlie........and Teddy too!
Thank you!
After all those years, still a bit of the original Nitty Gritty sound in there, a bit of Crazy Words, Crazy Tunes keeps echoing on. The harmonica drummer Jimmie always makes it :-)
Sounds great! Can't wait to get the new album!
This is a great song done very well by NGDB!
Amazing sound just fantastic guys!!🍻
Love it! Nice job on fiddle, Ross.
It's sad that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band hasn't kept all the original members over the course of their nearly 50 year long career, but it's good to know that their original front man, Jeff Hanna, has kept the band going for all these years. Keep up the good work, Jeff!
The drummer, Jimmie Fadden, is also an original member. Bob Carpenter has been there for decades as well.
They have attracted great talent….I saw them tonight. Jeff promotes each band member and allows then to take the spotlight. The bands lose of talent has been our gain!
And Jimmie Fadden. He's still on drums and harmonica. He's been a faithful longtime member also. And Bob Carpenter (since 1977 I believe) on keys and accordion. Just found out recently that he's married to Gram Parson’s widow, Gretchen Burrell.
Love that Jamie is performing with the band and Jeff continues to be present with his great stage presence and talent. Plus he doesn't seem to age. I guess it's doing what he loves that keeps him that way. ❤️🎶😍
I just watched a biopic on the comedy legend Steve Martin (Sky Arts UK) and it featured him playing the banjo (with an arrow through his head) and the presenter (Barry Cryer) mentioned he made appearances in the NGDB.. Great Stand Up and brilliant comedy actor.. They don't make em like that any more!!
Around 50 years. He came in when the band really hit the mainstream hard. Known them since 1981. They say never meet your idols. The new and the old is the exception. All very good people off stage when nobody is looking. Solid, decent folks. John could be grumpy but can't we all? Great character and characters. Embrace them while we have them. Under any maturation of lineup when the music goes silent the world has lost something magical.
Very nice.
My 74 year old body now in need of a double hip replacement is indeed, ready for "Fly Day" where I (WE!) will be forever young ...
Yes i got my second hip replaced last year, hard to stay forever young. Especially in our 70's but Nitty Gritty keeps on sounding young and great.
This is perfection!
Nice combination of the two versions on Planet Waves!
I quickly learned to love the guitar work in this song!
Jeff Hanna s son ➡️Jammie 🎸😎
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
great version
Jeff Hanna's voice shows a significant sound of country music!
Jeff is nearly 80 years old, and he still sounds good.
Nice remake. Good to hear ya guys
💕 love it!
Wonderful :o)
This song was featured on KXCI 91.3 in Tucson
LOVE THIS!!!
YA 😅
This awesome band is going to play on Fremont street in Las Vegas Nevada a free show open to the public what an awesome night that's gonna be my wife and I will be there for sure.
These guys are an institution now! Part of the fabric.
The Nitty Gritty Cover Band. Where is McEuen? Ain't the same.
It may not be the same but it's still the best band I've ever heard.
Glad they finally put a new vocal identity to the band. They lost me for a while after Ibby left and they tried to hang on to the old. These days, I like the new vocal sound combined with the roots in the old Dirt.
wish Ibby was in on this.
Ibby and John McEuen are missing pieces of this musical puzzle - not sure what happened to change the dynamics.....
Love that from of them too...
Amen!
I will be forever grateful for the first Circle record, which instilled in me a love of country music after already experiencing Nashville Skyline and Doc Watson. I'm sad to say that these performances lack the spark of the original group.
I have appreciated the NGDB for many years, and they did a good job on this. But I prefer it slower and with more emotion. However, we all know that music is subject to individual likings...
I found out your going to country fest 2023 and was wondering if I could have your help my gf is a big fan especially the song fishing in the dark and I was wondering if you could get us up on the stage so I can ask her to be with me for the rest of are life this would mean the world to her
Rod Stewart's version is great too!
Hmmm, isn't the Dirt Band I've followed since 1970.
Of course not, they're better.
NGDB not the same without Mcguen (?)
John McEuen
I love the way that guitar blends in with everything
