One of the best comedies
heck of a movie.
my son didn't want to watch it cuz of the title and trailer....I made him watch it anyway (well I didn't make him, but I put the movie on & he couldn't help but watch) & HE LOVED IT. ;)
oh yes!!!!!! this movie is so gooood!!!!!!
Hey you put some bluegrass into the Odyssey by Homer and I’m in
I cannot express how impactful this movie was to my life. For several years, my mother would don a fake beard and join in place of Delmar's character for a local Soggy Bottom Boys cover band, dance moves and interjected quotes from the movie and all. Some might think that'd be embarassing, but words can't express how much I loved seeing her have the time of her life entertaining hundreds of people across town ♥
You are a lucky son!😍
Your mother is awesome and you should hug her for me
That sounds amazing! :)
awesome!
Not embarrassing. Fun. Performing. And awesome. Hats off to your mom.
That dance by George Clooney is gold.
@Saul _B it's classic xx
It's what sold the whole film to me, I remember the music video on MTV and Clooney sold the whole song with that dance. He really was into his character and that's usually enough for me to want to see the film.
wish that I could do it
@@brownspacefilms8465 Everett is one of the best characters he's ever played. He became that character in this movie and it shows.

It is a Greek classic. Lol
It was a classic the day it was released 🎉
The flabbergasted looks on their faces when the crowd roars in recognition! Because they have no idea that while they've been traipsing and running, the whole state has heard this song! Fantastic. And the Refo'm man miscalculating -- and Pappy immediately sizing it up.
"Hot Dayyum!"
My favorite thing about the whole movie. And the blind man on railroad that was throughout their journey. Best rendition of the odyssey by far Homer take notes
Probably one of the most underrated and misunderstood comedies of all time. The Coen Brothers are simply geniuses.
It's very highly rated
This movie is brilliant.

It's an adaptation of The Odyssey

Oh I sure did then (the first time I heard it) and now!
Lol great endorsement Pappy

This particular scene, and this movie, are master pieces. So moving. I can't help crying when the crowd starts to cheer them, and when his wife is took between amazement, joy,, amusement surprise... And love again. I love it.
I'm always charmed by the moment the hero doesn't realize he's actually famous. It's similar to the scene in Bill and Ted when they go to the future and everyone there loves them.
I wouldn't call it masterpiece, but great movie indeed. Still one of the Coen's best

Don't forget the man who did the singing voice for George Clooney - Dan Tyminski, vocalist and guitarist for Alison Krauss's Union Station bluegrass band. The producers picked a supremely talented musician in Dan Tyminski to do the voice over for this song.
I see Dan’s face when I hear this song. Awesome musician and singer.
The funniest story I heard about this was Clooney wanted to sing it. He was in the studio singing and when he looked up, no one in the booth would make eye contact, but they kept giving him a thumbs up.
He said right then he knew they'd need someone else to sing it.
George did the voice I was there.
@@donaldeddy6830 If you compare recordings of Dan Tyminski singing this song with the soundtrack from the film they sound identical.
Indeed! Not sure how many people know that it was also Dan Tyminski who sang on Avicii's "Hey Brother". Here's a nice live version of "Man of Constant Sorrow": ruclips.net/video/p8LCYS_85Dk/видео.html
A few glitches in the sound here and there but the performance is still great!
Once in a while, everything comes together - script, music, cast, direction - and the result is pure magic. This is one of those rare jewels of a movie, like 'Lord of the Rings'.
Once again: thanks a lot for this masterpiece Cohen brothers!

One of my favorite movies. Just soooo many quotable lines in it! "Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!" Clooney earned his salary with all the dialog he had in this one. He did a great job with it as did all the other actors.

@@johnr7717 😂🤣 Possibly the Best and funniest line in the movie! Even funnier when he bites his own hat out of sheer lust for the 3 sirens. I quote this one frequently!

@@andrewcountis2531 You're right for the most part but TIm Blake did do some of his singing.

Scarily astute political observation. One politician refuses to change his outrageous and clearly unpopular political views, even in the face of his own ruin. The other politician has no political views, he just capitalizes on cultural sensations and mob mentality. This movie got layers on top of layers, y'all.

Even though the KKK was at its strongest in this movie's setting (Depression- era South), they still operated in as much secrecy as possible and their members didn't openly admit to being a part of it. 0:23 - When he holds "I....." as it kicks in is still epic AF after all these years. 🔥
The whole soundtrack to this movie is great.
Man, Charles Durning coming up on stage dancing is one of the funniest moments of the movie. Being a Charles fan, i actually thought he was hilarious in the whole movie with his short temper and quick southern insults.
Me too! I thought he was fantastic.
He stole the movie for me.
He was always great in anything. I loved him in The Muppet Movie back in the day.
Charles Durning a été un vétéran de la 2nde guerre mondiale ayant obtenu entre autre la Purple Heart.
Pappie O'Daniel is amazing
His grandmother Rosemary Clooney is definitely one of the best singers of the 20th Century. George made a statement "Unfortunately he didn't inherit not one note from her" 😂. Love the music in this movie. George did a great job lip singing. 💕
...How did I never realize they were related? Every time I turn around, I learn more and more about the nepotism in Hollywood.
@@wordforger True 😂. Especially since she,s definitely as famous as grandson George. If mention that Blue,s Sound of her's. Well I,m 61 and Rosemary was huge on the music scene when she was in White Christmas with Bing Crosby,Danny Kaye, and Vera Allen . What big Movie stars in that movie. By the way it was the only movie Rosemary was in. She refused to act anymore. She said I,m a singer it,s where my heart is. Which is a shame because she was wonderful and held her own in that movie.
@@wordforger I dunno if it's necessarily nepotism. Performers tend to breed performers, it's in the blood.
@@scottydogism George coolney was rosemary nephew
Hello carla, how are you doing today hope you are doing great
They were like, "You killed the vibe bro. You've gotta go." All kidding aside, I love this movie and it's soundtrack.
❤one of the best movies that has came out...
The infamous JEFFERY CLARĶ perfectly plays the part of the woodbe governor candidate, railed out, to be tared and feathered. History repeating itself.
Classic production. Countless views. Timeless
I got banned from twitter for saying certain politicians should be tarred and feathered and rode out of town on a rail.
I grew up attending my uncle's musical hoedowns at his home every Saturday night. The music him and his friends would produce reminds me of this movie, and the power of ordinary people playing music together instead of watch television or constantly using their smart phones alone.
The actual vocalist was Dan Tymanski. He’s a member in good standing of Alison Krauss’ favorite band Union Station.
can you imagine hearing all that on the radio? I mean you learned the lead guitarist of the Soggy Bottom Boys sold his soul too the devil. that live was fire
When you make a bargain, it better hold up ^^
i love all the songs in the movie. i wish they make another one after this one .
