I love how passionate he is about all food, not just fine dining.
***** all food. Home-cooked food is still great food.
Gordon Ramsay you should retire and do youtube till you die, create a community and inspire the next generation to cook better without actually going into the "cooking" field or also inspire them to be cook. Either will work.
Gordon Ramsay actual Gordon Ramsay or dude working for the show?
pfl95 Probably dude, I'm not sure why Ramsay could have that much time to respond to comments, cook food, etc.
*****
True.
gordon singlehandly supports the olive oil industry
No, he only ever uses olive orl, and I'm not sure what that is.
A drizzle of olive oil for Gordon = a gallon lmao
one bottle of olive oil a day, keeps the russians at bay.
Olive oil and butter
Olivol*
Did anyone else realize this is actually shakshuka?
Because it is
not quite
Still tunisian
In his brunch video he says it is this is a fillip of that

Finally, a dish I don't have to buy new ingredients for.
This was the first legit cooking recipe I ever cooked. Been cooking now for 6 years worked in 3 restaurants. Nostalgic watching this remembering the beginning of it all haha!
Cook eggs until they are "lovely".
Thanks Gordon. Now I know exactly how to make it.
rikilii 0:44 I'm not quite sure how you misunderstood that...
+rikilii "until... the yolks are lovely *and* runny"
What if they're still runny, but not lovely anymore?
rikilii That is no the same questionn. Still he said until they are runny AND lovely, if you somehow managed to cook them while they are still runny and NOT lovely (I would be surprised if you did) then you need to:
A) Learn to cook the eggs only until they are lovely and runny.
B) Choose one of the two: eat it or trash it.
just make them till they well baked. Dont eat it raw like him its disgusting
I made this the other day, it was pretty dope. Felt like a real piece of shit though because I ate the entire thing by myself. I was also a bit confused about plating so I just ate it out of the pan.
PugsOnDrugs 😂
That's the question, sin't it? How DO you plate this dish?
Each serving gets 1 egg so you spoon the sauce that is around the egg in a bowl or plate then spoon the egg on top.
I do that all the time, and I often eat straight out of the pan, keeps the food nice and warm.
Eat out of pan with a nice piece of bread that's how it's done traditionally
ZOOM THE FUCK OUT
i was having a shit as fuck day till i read your comment. thank you
Seriously I'm just here like boy if you don't....
The reason they don't zoom out is because it's not actually Gordon cooking. He uses his left hand for chopping (e.g. "how to chop an onion" vid) whereas the person in the video uses their right.
IT'S TOO FUCKING CLOSE YOU DONKEY!!!!!!!
Would you be able to tell your team to put the ingredient list + quantities in the description?
Alex Sandalis Not identical, but to give you an idea: www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/shakshuka-51220220
Shakshuka's a great dish. Really good pick me up if you've got a cold.
+Alex Sandalis cooking is by feel, don't always follow a recipe and quantities unless using dairy, baking etc. Even with Dairy and baking you can adjust ingredients to cater towards your preferences like adding less cream cause you like it less rich.
buy his book
Johnny Killjoy he has enough money
Shakshuka is my favorite Tunisian food 😍😍😍
I think this is known as Shakshuka in Tunisia.
Shakshuka or Ajja
It's also in Algeria & Morocco(Chakchouka )
@@ao1835 chakchouka is a Tunisian dish, it was created in northern Tunisia
@Mz Rnd You're mad cause your country has no gastronomy, the most popular mediterranean dish is from Tunisia
@Mz Rnd Tunisian food is EXTREMLY popular in France and germany, most people in those countries have heard of couscous, harissa or even shakshouka
Shakshuka
nope
SuicideRedemption100 yes it is shakshuka
Jimi Hendrix nope.
Jimi Hendrix it's egg and leaves
Andy C it's Shakshuka 😂 it's my country food
"Ready in 20 minutes"
Took me 2 hours to prepare and cook bruh
Me too 😂
this is shakshuka
Yeah its very close to shakshuka but it does have peppers
nope that's berber omelette
LEO Messi it's shakshuka get your facts straight pls
Mary Empire don't argue with me please i already know what that is . go prove your point else where. it's Berber omelette we also call it tortia in Morocco
LEO Messi actually you have the burden of evidence. Ad hominem much.
I made this dish and jesus christ its so damn good
I made it already twice. awesome recipe. thanks gordon! it became my permanent recipe i make every 2 weeks.
Every gordon rampsay video its like the camera man is learning how to focus and zoom in/out lol
Shakshouka BOYS.
And the SUPER CLOSE is back ;(
This is probably one of the simplest dishes but super delicious
It's called 'Shakshoka'. Scrambling the egg will change the flavor.
Tastes really nice.
Made this the other day, very tasty - overdid the eggs though, they came out like soft boiled eggs. Must try again and cook eggs on a low heat
we have a similiar dish in slowakia called "leco", i dont cook the vegetables for so long, just leave them a bit crunchy
...Adding diced bacon, ham or pancetta to this dish. Looks so amazing....
Why do I keep watching these videos at 3 am
I love this recipe make at morning as wel as midnight to satisfy midnight cravings
I live in Bergen Norway, where the hell am I going to get North African Eggs? :/
try Amazon
i'm Native North African all i can say eggs are just eggs
Shouldn't it be "A dish worth getting up early for"?
As in, it takes longer to make than regular eggs, but it's still worth it to get up a little early on the weekend to make it in time for breakfast
He's saying that since it's so quick and easy to make, it's worth "waking up late for." Meaning that if you wake up late and don't have a lot of time to cook, you can still make this.
I'm actually moroccan, and this is well, a little different but still as tasty as the way we do it in here
How do you do it Morocco more exactly? I would love to know :)
wissal magrane iT IS TUNISIAN PLEASE since when 3ejja is morrocan??? its TUNISIAn
Looks simple and damn delicious
The hands, we meet again old friend
' north African POACHED eggs '
frys the eggs
I actually cooked this for tea. Absolutely delicious.
SO SIMPLE! God, it's really cool.

Making this for me and my girl for hangover brunch on New Years Day. Really excited!
Hey! I think You Should try Authentic Shakshuka Eggs Recipe. This Is very easy to make and More Delicious. I Have tried today!. Checkout The recipe here: ruclips.net/video/ZOWjbUzffLI/видео.html
@@foodlovers9604 Thanks, I'll give it a try next time that I make it!
cumin seeds are always added either before onions or just with onions.. but never after tomatoes or pepper - A tip from India :)
I like to watch these videos on full screen and pretend i'm a vegetable.
I just finished a dish of this. Absolutely delightful 🤌
I am north African exactly from Algeria well done Gordon you have donne it better than most people I know kiss little Oscar for me 😘😘😘
Is this exactly the way it's done with no corners cut?
There are variations of this dish from North Africa to Afghanistan. It's well worth it.
Finally I find a straightforward recipe for this with no long speech, blah-blah, thanks, Mr. Ramsay!
Check Chef John's version: ruclips.net/video/ifWWRZSWS18/видео.html
He speaks a bit more, but he's really fun to listen to.
Gordon. Retire, hand in all your Michelin Stars, and tell everybody that it never was about fame, glory or wealth.I dare you!
Weird... I just made this for the first time randomly out of his cookbook earlier this week and now he uploads this video??
I did the same with "drunk salsa", and its just lovely, in the morning, having salsa, eggs, some corn tortillas and a proper coffee...sometimes my dad likes to add to that refried beans...but that makes it way to heavy for the morning.
man this is simple but effective, good stuff
Looks good however, the shakshuka dish (North African style) would ideally have a bit of tomato sauce in it. Your take still looks good.
In Egypt this dish is called Shakshouka Gordon Ramsay
ITS STILL RAW! FUCKING RAW! GET OUT! ALL OF YOU! OUT!

One of my favourite recipes, as per his recipe book you can open a couple of flavoured sausages and poach the crumbled meat in the tomato mixture
I cook a dish very similar to this on a regular basis with only two differences, I cook the eggs a bit longer so they aren't very runny and I add chorizo sausage.
almost every recipe calls for fresh chilies, in Illinois I can only find dried ones.
Vlad Rudeychuk Unless he's using them as a garnish it usually doesn't matter if you swap fresh chillies out for dried ones, as they both provide heat to the dish. Alternatively, use chilli powder (either buy from a store or grind from dried ones) to avoid biting into chunks of dried chilli.
Pretty sure you can rehydrate dried chillis by soaking them in a bowl of water
YuGin Tan ok thanks
Luke Glackin no point just use them dried. You'll lose flavour and heat this way
Luke Glackin thanks
The person in the video is cutting with his right hand, everyone knows Gordon is left handed, we can all conclude that this isn't Gordon.
but Gordon nonetheless has obviously approved it on his channel and done the voiceover, so ?
The videos are perfect! The editing and speed of the videos are the reason I subbed :) (Plus the amazing cook of course)
i made this for saturday brunch. it was very good! i added masala spices.
I find it interesting I absolutely look up to Gordon Ramsey as an idol and I find a growing passion for cooking food. My issue is being young and in university I find it expensive to really experiment with food I continually find myself wanting to cook different things than I've tried but im limited to a very small selection of food that I can afford on a regular basis. Only just turning 18 I just wish I could do something with as much passion as Ramsey does food for the rest of my life but being from a smaller Canadian city there are no large opportunities to cook food at a high level and I find myself being a weekend chef
Im also a "cook", I try all your recipes !! I wish to meet you one day!
keep uploading sir.. you are always my favourite chef in the world..especially i like your technics.
Looks awesome delicious, will definitely have a go with this recipe, Thank you for sharing 😊👌
Finally someone that put the real origin of this dish
Looks amazing. Simple and delicious.
His eggs are always so perfect
ramsay goes overboard with spring onions, not needed imo
It reminds me a lot of Shakshuka - Mediterranean dish, which I love. Apparently it's African Poached eggs.
North Africa is part of the Mediterranean, he's not talking about sub Saharan Africa .
Amazing!!! Thats the only way i can describe gordons recipes!!! Thanks im gonna try this 1 defo..
That’s called shakshuka for y’all asking and it comes from Tunisia
it's Maghrebian not just Tunisian.
Adil El Nhaily shakshuka its tunisian and go and look it up , are dumb or what ?? Algerians and Moroccans eat it too but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s Tunisian tf?
@@mvvx313 I don't need to ''look it up''. You can find this dish in the deep Atlas mountains among people who don't even know what is Tunisia. It's a Berber recipe, it's rustic, like Couscous. Just because someone wrote something somewhere does not mean it's right, we are talking about food, not about a film, a book or a painting.
And if Algerians and Moroccans eat it, well that should give you the hint that it's NOT only Tunisian. There are so many dishes that Maghreb countries have in common, and it's normal considering that it's the same stock of Arabized Berbers.
Adil El Nhaily Berbers before being divided by empires used to be one big mass of a population, also there is evidence that the oldest recipe comes from Tunisia and couscous its the only dish which we share us Tunisians,Algerians,Moroccans without being it from a certain country ......., and Btw cuz other country’s also consume a certain dish as well it’s doesn’t give them right to call that their own dish it’s like saying pizza is ate everywhere so using ur own exact logic it’s from everywhere also ???
Adil El Nhaily www.buzzfeednews.com/article/miriamberger/26-reasons-shakshuka-is-the-most-perfect-food (this link is from buzzfeed ) here’s another one www.themediterraneandish.com/shakshuka-recipe/ , and there’s plenty of more
We called it Ojja in north africa Tunisia
It's a TUNISIAN PLATE 🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳not a north african Chakchouka
I'm amazed how much he uses chillies. It sort of makes me proud to be Mexican and cook with chilli most of the time!! (:
Cooking at home is fun. Cleaning up afterwards is ok but finding everything in the grocery store is a pain in the ass.
Miam Shakshuka this Tunisian dish is so delicious 😋😋
No harissa ?
I don't know how people eat shakshuka without harissa
they know nothing ;)
Shakshooka? Yeah, Shakshooka.
I'm actually going to try this one. Will pick up some chilli tomorrow.
One of my faves ! Love garnishing with coriander and sumac
This isn't even Gordon Ramsay cooking in the video. He chops with his left hand, not right.
how do you get it out of the pan without looking ugly
+Taylor Alaska scoop into bowl or onto plate (it's fine if eggs break it'll still look good) and only THEN put the spring onion and coriander on. It's the green that contrasts the yellow egg and red sauce visually.
Taylor Alaska ...u can't. U have to risk burning your finger prints on the pan. And traditionally us Tunisians eat with our hands. But to us cooking is like a sport. We sacrifice our health for a well executed dish. We call it barbaric style cooking or blood chef
+God himself we don't eat with our fucking hands lol tf u saying bro?
+God Himself we use bread just like anyone else, eating with hands is something from the middle-eastern culture.
I thought poaching involved cooking eggs in water. This looks more like a basic fried egg. Either way, it looks positively delicious. Now that I've learned proper chopping from Gordon, I'm going to be trying a lot more of his recipes.

Great, delicious video, but I've gotta know, even if it's sorta random - where did you get the background music for this video? It sounds really, REALLY familiar and I'm immensely curious about it.
oh m'y goodd Gordon made tunisian chakchouka
Mohamed Serairi ...eh Zibi mala Gordon Ramsay ta Zibi
What the hell is that song in the background it's actually kinda nice
They don't look like ramsays knife skills
Knorr vegetable cubes would make this taste better.
No Marco it’s your choice schit, and no other Marco schit allowed.
You're magic chief Ramsay
I like the way your cooking it's easy and simple way.
God bless you always
I mean its not just North African- its part of middle eastern and Balkan cuisine as well
well Shakshouka is a North African word to begin with.
I'm wondering how you get this out of the pan without breaking the yolks. Other than that this looks amazing
Fry until lovely
Can't wait to add this to my low-carb breakfast rotation!
North African Poached Eggs = Shakshuka!
This dishe called " khakshuka " it's popular in Middle East..
I'll try this one with rice.
it's called Chakchouka :) "شكشوكة "

All the cool kids call this shakshuka
Isn't it worth getting up early for rather than late?
