I generally agree with that sentiment, but I'm convinced Hoovie 100% went into this with his eyes open just to see how bad it would be. 7:15 I am an automotive suspension engineer and the reason why the upper control arm (UCA) of the Cybertruck appears to be weak is because there are very low forces acting on the upper ball joint given both (1) how tall the knuckle is and (2) how close the axle centerline is to the lower ball joint of the lower control arm (LCA). In contrast to your Van @ 7:55 you can see just how much shorter the knuckle is on the Van which means the upper ball joint is far closer to the offset distance from axle centerline to the lower ball joint which means the UCA on the Van is sharing a much greater force distribution than compared to the UCA on the Cybertruck. If anything we would expect the Cybertruck to have more strength designed into the LCA and/or LCA frame mount and likewise the van more strength designed into the UCA and/or UCA frame mount. Cheers
Edit: As for the Ford Raptor UCA appearing so strong, I offer 3 points: (1) the Raptor knuckle isn’t as tall as the Cybertruck so the Raptor UCA sees a greater share of forces, (2) the Raptor uses a very wide IFS system designed for high speed desert driving (known in the aftermarket world as “Long Travel”), so I’d bet that the Raptor UCA is longer than the Cybertruck UCA which requires a stronger design, and (3) the aftermarket is flooded with over engineered Long Travel/Desert Race UCAs (such as ‘solid billet aluminum UCAs’ which is way more strength than needed) so Ford probably took this approach to appear “heavy duty” and robust like the aftermarket kits all the cool kids have = it’s stronger than necessary because “race truck”.

Granted yes, waiting a few years is wise, by then the novelty has worn off. When most people who initially buy it are willfully overpaying for the novelty. Think about it.
This is America...people have to have something ASAP or they will just die. Plus they have to be the first to flaunt it on Social media.
The saddest part is tesla effectively taught people this with the model 3. The earliest adopters had more problems and had parts that got redesigned and improved by the next year. You cannot really feel sorry for someone who jumped into cybertrucks knowing it had a lot of brand new engineering that hasn't been in other teslas before while happily signing a contract not to sell it for the first year. No one who took delivery can claim they did not know what they were getting into.
They always had the option not to take delivery and wait for other people to be the early adopters. Now that tesla is slowing down new charger installations because of musk's ego, buying a less efficient tesla is not worth it. I am holding off buying until musk is gone from the company, I am just sitting on the cash waiting and will drive my volt until the wheels fall off. (GM is not a spring chicken either, but they did just replace the defective battery controller, egr valve, and shifter switch under warranty last year so it should be good for another 50k miles at least).
I kind of hope ford clones tesla as much as they can with their lfp "mustang" and ends up having dealers with service centers that can do all maintenance on site like a normal car. VW pretty much failed and backed off EVs and GM was never serious about EVs. Toyota refuses to make a good EV and is too obsessed with hydrogen which has zero chance of ever working due to no one being willing to fund billions of dollars for hydrogen fueling stations. Hydrogen is currently made from natural gas, so it will never be cheap.
"wiper doesn't go up all the time when you want it to, but it does eventually, no big deal" no electrical problems though...
HG,
This is a tinker toy, no human factor , is not a mature engineering object 。it will take another five years, to make it the way you like, after crashes, people, dying, and other some small mishaps!
I don't understand how USA prohibits so many things on other cars but they did not say anything about this horrible truck.
Pretty sure GM had to recall the chrome door handles on one of their SUV's because the chrome could split and slice your finger... Yet this thing is designed in a way that you can slice your body open and it's just fine.
And "we can't do pop up headlights anymore because they are unsafe"
I don't understand how it passed the safety test. That thing could kill a pedestrian at low speed with it's sharp edges.
Right?... I think every other country said "No way... keep that hideous rolling death trap lawsuit out of our country".
US is simply looking after their own car manufacturers. Thats why they got rid of VW when Germans started capturing the US market and not letting in any Chinese
Cause Elon gives lobbyists whatever they want and abuses the system. That's why he switched parties too. You know when very rich people switch political parties it's for there own gain. That's it!
"You buy a truck to haul things"
Really? Someone should tell that to truck owners.
That's why I bought my truck... But when I drove down to the city all I see are shiny F150 platinums and high country Chevy's.
SUVs are for women and gays. 🛻
Excellent point. If I had a dollar for every pickup I see with an immaculately clean bed and no cargo, I'd be retired!
@@john_toss umm, how many single cab turbo Silverados are running around?
Every time I spot a single cab modern truck I call it out, and it's usually weeks between spotting them.
Rusted ahhh mf
I love Yacht Rock Radio - the DTS was a nice car for its time and still is today 20 years later.
For $100K it should have at least come with an ice maker and water dispenser in the door.
i really dont understand why people say the cybertruck looks futuristic, it just doesnt look like anything because there is no design. the caddy actually looks futuristic
Yeah it's not exactly what I would call futuristic design, more alternative design. Like a bad alternative that most people know better than to embrace.
shaped like a cat turd
I have said it looks like something out of Spectre...which, if you aren't old enough to remember, is a vector-graphics game for the Macintosh published thirty-three years ago (and not noted for great graphics back then).
The caddy just looks like a crossover/station wagon to me...
I agree. It looks like a prop from a cheesy sci fi movie in the eighties.
Oh no! A company with a history of constant low build quality, bad engineering decisions and unergonomic interiors built a vehicle with low built quality, bad engineering decisions and an unergonomic interior. I have no sympathy for anyone stuck with one of these.
The day I got to give back the model 3 I had as a company car was one of the best driving days of my life. That was the worst vehicle I've ever had.
Edit: I love that my personal experience of having a Tesla for 18 months enrages those who probably haven't ever been in one. Low quality interiors, rattle filled interiors, truly awful service at the service centre in Vancouver, expensive costs to use superchargers, numb steering and brakes with no feedback, absolute inability for it to handle even slight snow (it was a rwd standard range plus). Truly the worst daily driver I've ever had to deal with.
LOL sure it was
@@doomsday9973 your tongue must be dirty from boot licking so hard
You're on point with their build quality and ergonomic issues but they're known for generally fantastic engineering decisions albeit with some missteps.
Because being extorted $60 a week for the rest of your life to a Saudi oil billionaire is so amazing.
@@doomsday9973My two Hondas and one Toyota are the worst build quality I’ve ever experienced. Tesla and Chevy and have been way more reliable for me. I think perception has a lot to do with how reliable a brands seems. However, any first year models tend to have trouble, especially after major changes. My Honda odyssey was a victim of Honda being incredibly slow to change, parts that didn’t work well in the early 2000s still being the same parts that fail over and over again. Seemed wild that what I consider defects, Honda never fixes in later years.
If you sell it for MSRP, you're out the sales tax, est $6,000
The wiper staying down is not a quirk. At the higher speeds it stays down to keep the water from being blown up on the window.
My neck hurts from shaking my head at this abomination. Anyone who buys a new one is a fool. Anyone who buys a used one should have a CAT scan.
He should try to sell it to Brandon.
@@StringsandWings POTUS, insult name for him.
@Strings and Wings
You asked, "Who the hell is brandon?" !!!
Have you been living under a rock?
Well, we’re probably talking about many of the same people who voted for Elon to get his $56 billion package.
@@SamWesting, why shouldn’t he get what he deserves for delivering on his promises?
I've owned several used cars over my life time. $100 ~ $5000. 200,000+ miles. NONE of them had windshield wipers that did not work.
You didn't have a dodge grand caravan :)
More informative, frank, honest commentary and analysis. Concise too! You said alot in 23 minutes!
You're one of the best. Thanks Hoovie.
I did not notice the Caddy. I just was enjoying the cool car collection behind it.😂
A crash and bullish market provides equal high-yield potential, it's all about information and strategy application, I've seen folks make huge 7figure profit in a crashing market and pull it off much easily in a bull market Unequivocally the crash/recession is getting somebody somewhere rich.
On occasion you can beat the market with blind luck, but I wouldn't depend on it. Having a science background there is a saying, 'Luck favors the informed', I've found it to be true, allowed me in great part to retire early
No doubt, having the right plan is invaluable, my portfolio is well-matched for every season of the market and recently hit 100% rise from early last year. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take till Q3 2024.
Impressive! How can I contact this advisor? My portfolio has underperformed, and I need guidance.
My CFA ’ANGELA LYNN SCHILLING’ , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
I appreciate this share. I set up a call with her and I am keen on getting to talk to her particularly. Lady looks really great though even with the exams and other stuff.
Someone is going to take a hit for a $100K car that's worth $50K. The question is who.
maybe not $50K, $35K or less

Whoever I buy mine from in a few years. 🤣
It is the game of musical chairs in reverse. The winner gets stuck with massive losses.
I think who was the original owner of the Cadillac.
That truck is the ugliest thing my eyes have ever seen. Never thought anything could top the Aztek...but here it is.
