Bidenflation. Nobody can afford anything anymore. People cant afford groceries. Do you really think they wanna spend 50k on a BASIC model truck? If you enjoy overpaying for everything, keep voting for Democrats.
It could be for sale on consignment I don't know this hoovie guy stretches the truth sometimes from what i see. He said his renovations where expensive and i did similar flooring and my cost was no where near the outregeous price he claimed in his last video. I would take his information with a grain of salt.
@@addieb8943 Renovations costs vary quite a bit by state. Kind of like a $10,000 reno in NY or California might be $3,000 - 5,000 in Kentucky or Tennessee.
11:45 - Trying to call a EV SUV a "Mustang" is such a dumb move. Honestly I have no idea why they didn't just call it the "Mach-E" without the "Mustang". That is a really cool name in itself especially for an EV...
They did it to keep the Mustang name, eventually the Mustang we know will be phased out but Fords strategy is to keep the horse around. How many cars have been phased out and no longer exist? At least they’re keeping it alive.
@@purplestrawberrysunset I have seen it. It’s horrible but revived at least? 😅. Now I’m Starting to think, leave the old alone. Don’t revive it as some pile of junk lol
@@AnythingGasoline I bought a model of the Ford Anglia used in the Harry potter films. I was surprised at how much writing there was on the back of the box "Anglia is a trademark of ford Motor Company. Name used with permission of ford Motor Company". All for a name they haven't used for 57 years.
I see a lot of Mach-E driving around each week. And a lot of people interested in them that don't even know it is called a Mustang. A lot of their parents were not born yet when the Mach 1 was made, and they just know the Mach-E as a name of it's own. Hell I owned a '66 coupe way back when and would be interested in a Mach-E if it had a better range in the base model.
There was 1 a few years ago. He had a barn find 90s Lexus sedan that he got for a few hundred bucks and it turned out that it had no issues so it was only in one video and he flipped it for profit
All those dealers been ripping people off,,,just remember what they did with the new Corvette,,,wanting 80k over sticker price....let them struggle!!!!!
Im across the Pond and a base Audi A3 costs £30k, or $40k ,on the road pricing probably bumps this by $1200. Id be interested in knowing what the equivalent dealer hikes are in the US
A Dodge dealer near me is putting $100k+ markups on some of the Demons etc. With taxes and everything else you’re looking at not far off $300k for a Dodge 🤣
Unfortunately the reason why dealers do that, and will continue to do that, is because there are people stupid enough to buy/finance the cars at those inflated prices cause they just have to have it and can’t wait for prices to fall
Good news all the fake news about EV`s and the prices dropping and insurance increases those people are now targeting Classic cars aka those anti EV`ers want all classic cars like Camaro's, Chevy`s Mustangs etc crushed.....
I am pretty sure that the unrealistic pricing is a tool being used by the manufacturer to punish the dealers who added markups during the shortage. I also think the unrealistic prices are being used as a way of thinning out dealer networks. No proof, just my thoughts...
I bought my first house in 2000 for $86,000. I was 24 years old, without a college degree, and girlfriend with a baby on the way. I had three older vehicles an F150, Saab 900, and Buick Century. We had plenty of food in the pantry, clothes and emergency cash. No cell phone. This wasn’t that long ago that life was significantly simpler and way more fun.
In '09 we bought a stand alone home in South Boston for $260k. Sold it in '18 for $750k. It just RE-sold a few months ago for $890k. It's absolutely insane. @@IH8AI
They are selling it for less than you sold it for. Clearly you won. Why would you even consider buying it back. It will be worth half of that a year from now.
@@porcelainthunder2213they’re making less on this than the lyric, because at least the caddy is a net positive. They bought this for 111 or whatever he said and are selling it for under that. That’s negative money. Negative is smaller than positive
@@inherentlyflawed you’re forgetting how much they paid for the lyric and what they sold it for as part of the deal. Either way, they’re not losing money. Hoovie doesn’t work there.
In Canada, Cadillac wants $166000 @7.99% + 13% tax for an Escalade ESV. With interest it works out to over $220000. Can you imagine spending 1/4 million on a GM, only to have it be worth 45k 3 years later? Also you’re brining said 1/4 million dollar vehicle to the same place a Chevy Cobalt was sold. Insane.
See….the taxes and the interest don’t matter for depreciation. Not saying the depreciation isn’t bad….but the depreciation is only calculated off of the sales price of the vehicle pre tax for a good reason.
Why would you buy things like cars, which are almost always a bad depreciating investment, and then finance it at ridiculous rates. Save money, buy it yourself.
But for anything to really change, the product lines need to be changed. There are no entry level vehicles from Ford or Stellantis. Stupid strategy....
I have an 05 TT Quattro 3.2L DSG SLine that I have had for 17 years now. Over the last 2 years I dropped around 5k into it, replacing headlights, fuel pump, AC compressor, and getting a new headliner installed, and repainting the hatch and roof and rear bumper that were starting to show sun damage. ( been parked outside its whole life. ) Best money I ever spent. The thing still goes like a rocket and is one of the most distinctively and elegantly styled cars on the road. Now it looks like new.
I had a 2003 TTQR 1.8T 225hp 6MT. I loved it. So much fun. But I had to downsize to 1 car, and traded it in for a 2007 A3 S-line DSG with Open Sky roof. 17 years ownership also, and the most reliable car I've ever owned. I had to put 4k into it at the 80k mile service because of a timing belt change requirement, new A/C compressor, etc. But well worth it. Now at 101k and still going strong. Looks much newer. Handling & torque still feel phenomenal. Makes no sense to sell it.
@@cytherians The the early A3 DSG was essentially the Mk I TT with a 2 door hatchback body on it. Even the dash and interior were nearly identical. Fantastic car.

Same precise turning radius and handling feel (minus quattro/haldex--my A3 is FWD).
Yeah people, buy a $94 K truck, put 10K down, for 72 months. The payment will only be about $1500 per month. Add another $3-500 for insurance. 2G's a month for 6 years! That's only $144,000! What a deal.
@user-tb7rn1il3q also don't forget the extended warranty you have to buy due to the quality of this new junk. They can't even give it a 100k power train warranty for these prices.
That 2 door F150 XL base work truck for $50k is insane. Ram has the same problem with its Tradesman. At that price, people want something that excites them and makes them feel pride of ownership. That feeling just isnt there with a basic work truck. The motivation isnt there to pay those prices.
@kagnewcobra5228 not talking about going off road, it's actually not to bad at it...what good is a truck, that as soon as you hook a boat, say 5000 pounds to it...your range in now 100 miles. It's 70 to the lake I like, and there's no chargers there. Or if you put a load of potting soil in the back, same thing. While many buy trucks as "family vehicles" thise family's have things..like boats, off road vehicles, campers ect and believe it or not, the core of the truck market is work. The missed the mark on both. We need a diesel hybrid. A small, efficient diesel turning a generator pushing the motors, no batteries and crazy mpg.
Forecourt monopolies you give them more power when you buy from them.... They hate the no dealer forecourt(no fake mark up prices) that Tesla uses and that`s why they sued Tesla.... dealers want that extra mark up $$$$$$
Truck prices are insane! I had to put 10 grand into my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I weighed it out and came to conclusion rather quickly that it was a better choice from a financial standpoint to replace the engine in my truck. People thought I was crazy, so I said, no, having $1200 to $1500 a month truck payments is crazy. I'm having the some rust repair done on it, and even with the cost of that and the new engine it's still is infinitely cheaper than a new truck.
I did a similar thing with my 07 suburban, new tranny 2 years ago and 6200 in rust repair last year. The other thing to consider is the cost of insurance, for a new vehicle that will be more expensive also.
Smart move. I still drive a 2001 LS430 with 356,500 miles. You and I have both ridden depreciation all the way down. New cars require maintenance, too! Keep your ego in check and continue on. Nice decision!
This video just proves we are so used to empty dealerships during the pandemic era that a normal looking dealership looks like a economical crisis. I havent met a worried salesmen yet.
People are done get shafted on price. Ford lot near my house completely full. They even started parking cars on the roof! Love to see these greedy companies getting screwed.
They have collectively price-gouged America. Corporate profits soared, while prices went up, across so many different domains. The auto industry should be focused on making reasonably solid, reliable cars with useful technology... but instead they've overladen these vehicles with too much. The sophisticated computer systems are ridiculous. It's a VEHICLE. To take you from point A to B. It's not a long-haul survival vehicle. And btw, those enormous LED screens? When they suffer failures, replacement costs more than a brand new high powered laptop computer.
Going to be awhile before we forget how the dealers/manufactures treated buyers during COVID, the dealers need to remember the $30k mark ups on Hyundai's and Ford's (really most of them did it) they did when they only had 1 on the lot and treated the buyer like they were lucky to find a car and paying the markup was a privilege... Interest rates don't help either.
I got the exact opposite during Covid. The Nissan dealership I used was so desperate to reach sales numbers, they sold me a new 2019 Frontier in May of 20 for sticker, gave me blue book retail on a 2012 Ram, and actually had to trade inventory with another dealer to get the truck...oh, 0% interest too.
@georgejulien3286 manufacture date was July 2019, I bought it with 18 miles out of new stock. Technically it was a one year old model, but they way over valued my trade, so it was a deal....although the 2020 had not yet come out. It was late July 2020.
@@johnpollard4158 Prices were low in 2020 cause they still had the inventory and no one was buying cause everyone was afraid of what was next. 2021-2023 is when they started jacking up prices cause inventory was low and demand was returning to normal. I bought a 2017 Camry in 2021 and I had to travel to a city an hour away to get a somewhat decent deal. All of the 2017's in my city were selling for $24-26k and they all had 60-80k miles. A 2017 Camry when new started at $27k~ so to ask that much for a 4 year old Camry with that many miles was ridiculous. The one I ended up buying was $19k and had 33k miles and was still being sold as certified used, so it had a warranty as well. The same dealer I bought my Camry at had a 2020 4runnner with 100k miles and they wanted almost $40k for it, which I though was ridiculous.
No idea who’s buying those cars. I could easily afford it but wouldn’t out of principle. My car is 15 year old beater. Does the job. Minimal maintenance. This is going to be a big pop.
07 vibes right now. Everyone I know says prices will continue to go up on everything. I feel like we're about to see a downturn that'll make 08 look like a picnic
What's honestly wild is that even with excess inventory dealers are not willing to budge at all either with financing packages or with price. Like seriously, y'all can rot if you want 51 grand for a F150 XL on steelies.
electric vehicles are a technological cul-de-sac. A dead-end. And man-made climate change is a ruse... Sure electric motors are a great means of propulsion, but not when you have to lug round a massive expensive battery made from thousands of cells. Pretty much 1000 laptop batteries...
I wish I had the money to buy the Audi TT. I had one with the same specs except black interior. I miss it so much. They are fun cars and I loved working on it.
We bought a Maverick XL hybrid June 10th for just over $26K. Been city driving it in Florida and still getting 35 mpg. Best decision we have made. Glad to hear you say you think it is a good vehicle, i agree! Great video, by the way, I value your input on vehicles.
3:30 its hilarious how the poor cyber truck sadly drives away, the back looks like it is disappointed and not having a good day. Bye bye Cybertruck, hope you find happiness
Dealers have been f'ing over people since Covid. Hope it goes down further and they lose $20K on the deal. $140K asking for that shows you what kind of dealer this is. Forcing people to buy vehicles through these franchised dealerships with insane markups and addendums is starting to bite them in the rear and they've reaped what they've sowed.
ya but even used cars are insane!, even private sellers are asking WAY over kbb. its like everyone just decided -i wanna WAY overcharge peeps for my stuff- all of a sudden?
As other people have mentioned, auto insurance is twice what it was a couple years ago. People cannot afford the expense of a new car with full coverage anymore.
The cost of things would come crashing back down if people stopped paying big dollars for garbage like this Cybertruck. Just because someone is asking you for a ridiculous sum doesn’t justify the outrageous price they’re asking.
I don’t think we are far off some of these car companies going under. Between the investment in EV, tanking sales and Euro Mandates, it’s only a matter of time.

I am in the market for a $5k or below car for my son who is turning 16 soon. When my older son turned 16 5 years ago we found a clean rust fee (by Michigan standards, anyway) Honda Fit manual with 100k miles for $3600. These days, I literally saw someone selling a 2004 Honda CR-V manual with rust and 250k miles asking $7k. I went to check it out for giggles and it smelled like an ashtray, the clutch was in dire need of replacement, and it likely needed new brakes all around not to mention tires and other likely deferred maintenance. It wasn’t a dealer, it was FSBO. It’s insane. It seems like $8k is now the entry point for a car I would feel safe having my son drive. Used wholesale prices are coming down but those prices haven’t seemed to reach buyers, yet.
imo one of the reasons why the prices are going up and will never go down is the cancelation of sedan cars (small family cars). You have a small collection of cars to choose from which let these dealers/manufactures set a value as high as they want without having any cheaper alternative. These days buying used cars feels like a good deal.
Japanese or Korean only. The Americans gave up on sedans because they could not compete in the sedan sector but they still had enough fools to buy their trucks.

The financing bubble has burst. All the time manufacturers were raising the prices for their cars because the only number people were interested in was their monthly rate... 20 bucks more per month, or even 50... people didn't think much about that. Even though that adds up to almost 2,000 Dollars over three years. Now that people look at the sticker prices for the first time in twenty years or so they realize how much the manufacturers drove up the prices. Way beyond the rate of inflation.
During Covid we were told the chip shortage drove up the MSRP's on the new vehicles and the used market. Well covid is in the rear view. But like everything else the prices haven't come down? Why should they? We the consumer showed them that we were willing to pay inflated prices for the same product. Until we hit them in the pocket book nothing's going to change.
Inflation is not merely a car thing, the value of $1 from 2020 is worth around $1.25 now. So, effectively everything is 125% of the price that it was in 2020, it's not just a car thing.
@@craftyukraine Thats hardly a single countries leaders fault. High inflation was worldwide a problem. The economy is struggling at least since the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy in 2008. Covid wasnt helping with this, but again: That was world wide and affected most of the international trade and ruined all the supply chains.
It should also be noted, a lot of Ford dealerships have excess inventory due to Ford holding off on delivery of 2024 F-150s until really late to fix recalls, this caused Ford to ship multiple orders that would normally be staggered over several months, all at once. It happened with the dealership I work at, and while sometimes we have a few days to week of slow period, we will still have several weeks where we are drowning in cars being sold. I don’t really care about brand, and you’re right that pricing is crazy, but that’s not the only reason that a lot of Ford dealerships have excess inventory right now.
The microchip shortage and a few other things have totally ruined the car market. I work for a car rental company, we buy new cars by the thousands, but a few years ago there was nothing to buy. We started buying and renting out used cars. The demand for new cars was so high, manufacturers didn't want to sell them to companies like us, because we normally get 20-40% discount on the list price.
@@chrisleon5344 Well, we always do that. The fleet is in constant rotation. Last year when the chip shortage was over, there was an oversupply of used cars in the market, so we were forced to lower the prices. When we have say 500 vehicles to sell, they have to be gone within a few weeks. We can't have them in storage depreciating and not generating income.
I mean who would think brand new model vehicles would ever lose value fast, even moreso in high interest rates since they were announced. Shocking i tell ya!
car prices SKYROCKETED during the pandemic, and manufacturers were happy to cash in and take that profit from dealers. Here we are, and inventory has never been higher. A lot of models went up significantly. Ranger went up 10K on the starting price for instance. Disgusting.

I think some of the current situation (cars sitting on lots) has to do with the frenzy of buying during COVID. The online used car companies started overpaying, and used car trade-ins bought more new car. So now there's a bunch of 2 year old cars on the road, which they're likely upside down on due to over paying, and the market dries up.
Yep, I bought an off lease F150 right before covid smashed truck inventory and less than a year later I was offered more than I bought it for to buy it back (not trade it in). Glad I didn't sell it because I wouldn't have been able to replace it. That $32k truck with 19k miles would be hard to replace today for under 40.

I love how the car brands that were once making vehicles for the working class, are now charging like $70,000-$110,000 per vehicle, but still have the gall to pay their technicians like $17-$22/hr. The north American economy is so messed up, everyone in power wants all the money, and they don't want to pay their employees a living wage, then they wonder why no one is out there buying.
Since I was in my early 20s I bought new cars and trucks every four to five years...until 2019 when prices began to skyrocket. Will never buy a new car or truck again so I'm stuck with my '18 F150 until death. Manufactures and dealers are only hurting themselves as I have to believe I'm not the only one that refuse to pay these prices.
I dont think they do this out of pure greed. They have those prices because manufacturing cost and material cost have skyrocketed as well. They need to do a calculated win, so they dont go bankrupt. But honestly, when they cant sell cars because they are too expensive, they will need to write them off soonish for half the price anyway. Than we will have to save the manufacturers again with tax money. Its a difficult environment for car manufacturers as well. We have had high inflation, the markets are still struggling, the competition is tough, new emission rules from 2025 on in Europe... Yepp, not looking great.

Yup, it't nuts. I've found the best value these days at Nissan. No, it's not one of the big three. But I bought a very gently used full size pretty well loaded CPO Titan a couple years ago for about $40k. Circumstances changed and I needed something a little smaller and found a brand new Pathfinder for almost $8K UNDER sticker with rebates. That was only a couple thousand more than a couple year old CPO unit. And getting a really fully loaded Platinum Pathfinder for under $50k all in was a no brainer. I'd put it up against any major manufacturers regular line and I think it'd hold up well.
The economy is on the verge of imploding - many people are struggling to pay basic household costs and others dealing with layoffs. Spending $100k on a new truck is WAY down the list of priorities!

I paid $44,000 for a hybrid minivan that hauls 7 people, gets 40+ MPG, and has been dead reliable 110k miles in. I've never bought new vehicles but at that time, a 2017 with 120k miles was $34,900. They had 2 2020s, with 40-45k miles. One for $41,900, the other for $42,500. So with the lower interest rate for a new car vs used, Toyota care, and new car discount on my insurance, the payment was CHEAPER to buy new than used. The payment is $684/month. I thought I got ripped off, but it could have been so so much worse.
12:00 Yes, Cadillac is back. But they have to add a few models to their lineup. One vehicle body style will bury Cadillac alive. Escalades don’t count, because it’s a rebadged Chevy/GMC. So I’d be happy to see more Cadillac models on the roads.
Europe has DACIA for that. Basic, cheap and cheerful motoring with Renault/Nissan build quality. Yes, French stuff but they seem to be good at building basic cars. Just stay away from the higher spec electric tech laden models
Under 30k is not a goal you need to wait for, corolla costs like that isnt it? In europe you can get smaller than corolla fiat panda or dacia sandero for 15k euro, that's better. I drive a car from this category but 2007, it can do anything comfortably. I think they can make simpler cars than that, no one needs the stupid touch screen and they are quite big for a small car. 10k euro new car I will want to buy. but seems like they are not doing this anytime soon.
You could never build it. Government has sooooooooooo many requirements including crash testing, air bags, "safety features" the manufacturers actually pushed for all these requirements so they can raise the average price. They actually passed a law they cars will have to have breathalyzer to start. The technology doesn't even reliably exist yet, but it's mandated.
Even the Lyric is a hole in the wallet for people who got in on the early couple of pre-launch purchases. I was on the list for information because I filled out the form at my dealer but after calculating gas and electricity cost where I live, I found that for me, gas is equal or even cheaper. But people were paying over MSRP. For Tyler, doing the Cybertruck trade was a good idea. I can find them all day long now for under $80k. The good move would have been to use his dealership (Hoovie is an official dealer) to dump the Lyric after a short time to do videos.

It fills me with glee to see dealerships unable to sell stuff and taking a loss. Good to see the thieves get their comeuppance.

Just waiting for the recession to pass and then go ahead and buy a brand new 2025 Honda prelude 4 months after it comes out so I can get a gist of what issues it has and to see if I should wait for a facelift or type r version
Nothing doubled in five years. Just a myth to scare people.
Inflation has been happening steadily for over a century and it's due to govt INFLATING the money supply. Tell us how much greedier business men are these days lol.
truck prices are nuts. back in early 2019 i ordered my new 2019 ram 1500 classic quad cab hemi 4x4 tradesman. ordered it in diamond black crystal pearlcoat with the hemi, 4x4, tow package, 10 ply all terrain tires. after all was said and done the price was just over $43k. i change the oil every 4k miles with full synthetic and change the fluids in the trans, transfer case and differentials every 30k miles. i plan to keep it forever.
in my country if i was to buy a 2019 5.7 ram now, i would need to pay around 70k usd New Rams start at 110k usd.
In the 50's my Dad worked a modest job, Mom stayed at home and raised the kids, and they lived a nice middle class lifestyle including owning a home. Nowadays both I and my partner works and can barely afford to make ends meet. Soon the kids and family dog will need to work to keep this household going. It's the destruction of the American dream right before our eyes.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you...prevent inflation
I feel Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and.exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields
She is really a good investment advisor. Was privileged to attend some of her seminars.that's how I started my own crypto investment
How can I reach her?
Credit card debt in the US is at an all time high. These trucks might as well be a million dollars because nobody has any money to buy them anymore.
@@barbarusbloodshed6347 No, it was the real rate of inflation, not the fib the governent tells people.
Love the Audi headliner held up with drawing pins. Classy!
Bought a 23 titan fully loaded for 39k with 8k miles... comparable f150 with the options was ALMOST DOUBLE! Plus 5 year 100k warranty
The titan is a nice truck, that and the frontier are the only good vehicles from Nissan these days.
NO Hoovie. Bad Hoovie. NO Cybertruck. There is nothing to learn from the 2nd kick of the same mule.
Buying a new car continues to be one of the worst financial decisions you can make.
Amen.
@@rustler08”I did that!” (c) Joe
@@craftyukraine Thats hardly a single countries leaders fault. High inflation was worldwide a problem. The economy is struggling at least since the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy in 2008. Central banks have flooded the markets with money. Low interest rates and boom markets created assett bubbles that are going to burst any second now. Covid wasnt helping with this, but again: That was world wide and affected most of the international trade and ruined all the supply chains.
Vehicle prices got out of hand the last 10 years.
What are rental car companies doing now? I heard now they're trying to sell off their old inventory.
The microchip shortage was mostly a trick to screw up the car market. Now you get whatever they want to sell you, for however much you can afford.
The plandemic was planned.....
Car market goes crazy? Or just returns to sanity
I mean who would think brand new model vehicles would ever lose value fast, even moreso in high interest rates since they were announced.
Shocking i tell ya!
20 years ago, when I lived in the US, I was amazed how cheap vehicles and fuel was. Now I guess you guys are aligning with the rest of the world.
Used cars are cheap, but the yuppies need new cars, for their fur babies.
car prices SKYROCKETED during the pandemic, and manufacturers were happy to cash in and take that profit from dealers. Here we are, and inventory has never been higher. A lot of models went up significantly. Ranger went up 10K on the starting price for instance. Disgusting.
Before the pandemic the Mitsubishi mirage was like $13k base msrp, now they want like $18-19k FOR A FUCKING MIRAGE🤣🤣🤣

Modern cars’ interiors makes a pinball machine look boring. I really don’t like it. Longing back to the Night Panel function on older Saabs. Every screen and dial goes black except the speedometer. That’s innovation. This is just stupid distraction.
Im glad i was able to buy a fully loaded Genesis GV80 with the prestige and Advance package for $39,000. The original owner paid $66,000. It only had 12100 miles. Im loving it.
I don't know hoovie, In 1984 I bought a two year old 82 Z-28 Pace car for $5,000 at a dealership. It was my first dealership car purchase and I was happy to pay $500 a month for it. And that was the 80s. It was the only new car dealership that would approve me. I was a broke 23 year old and ate a lot of ramen and mac-n-cheese, but didn't care because I had my dream car. Drove it for three years and sold it for $5,000.
My first bank financed car was a 1986 Firebird with T Tops. I paid 5000 in 1989 for it. The next year got a 87 Tuned Port IROC for 9000. I loved that IROC.
I got a 2000 tt I use for my work car. Trunk is good for getting my tools in and out. It has been pretty reliable.
Car manufacturers are out their minds believing people will pay these prices. A 2024 Ford F150 Raptor in Australia is $AU340,000! That's $US227,000! Insane.
To put that in context, my 2020 Mazda BT 50 Freestyle with full sized steel tray and towbar cost me $36,600 Aud ($24,452 US.), 4 years ago. Being low mileage, fully serviced and in excellent condition, It's valued at $27k today.
I own a Mercedes W123 300D and a W115 240D. I've only changed oil and filters (with genuine MB service parts) and the darn things have run entirely trouble free for years ! And the things are shooting up in value every year.
After watching this video, I'm SO glad I didn't spend any money on a new car! Thanks Hoovie!
Same here i have purposely dailied a W126 for the past 15 years with just basic maintenance and expected service. It has been trouble free and i would gladly throw any amount of money at it if it needed it vs anything new.
@@TheMoistpotato I think Mercedes is intentionally starving their Classic parts department
I own a W210 E430 and a W211 E55 AMG and I did the big 100,000 mile maintenance (motor and trans mounts, brake fluid, etc.) on both of them when I got them and no plans of getting rid of them or buying anything new. The diesels are even more trouble free than the M113 gas motors.
W115. The best car ever built….. love them
You are a very wise man. Also your fuel mileage is very good as well.
Thanks for the very interesting review of the different car lots and vehicles for sale.
Prices are pretty crazy for those new trucks and hard to afford for most people.
It's the same here in Europe.
They're constantly prepping us for a change in our society. It may coincide with Chinese cars and the digital dollar.
@@Gentleman...Driver Thats what I am thinking. We will have to bail them out again.
You nailed it with the new cars. I have a 2017 expedition platinum and like your used escalade, I’ll just keep driving it. It runs fine. Its crazy to think in 2017 i went to the DC auto show and the top f150 was in low 50s. Five years later…
People are not stupid. It's sad the only priced Cybertruck available now are for influencers using it only for content.
People are still stupid. Don't kid yourself.
Sit for a while, no need as they are going to keep dropping.
This. Do not buy it back. If you want one, wait it out.
I'm watching now and the light outside matches the light in the video. This is cool.
Anyone from Los Angeles will remember the Cal Worthington commercials, and this felt like that, only without his dog Spot! I loved the format of this video. It had a used car feel, but for new cars.
I bought cal Worthington's limo many years ago
You were smart too get rid of it. Have you seen the video where all the roofline trim is being removed and it's only held on with glue and twosided tape?
yes and a hardened steel trailer hitch is held on by thin cast aluminum 😳
I saw a picture of one that crashed into a dirt ditch along the road and all the right hand side panels peeled off into the dirt, leaving part of the bed intact and the doors and fender naked... Such weak glue.

Ford hit with $1.7 billion verdict for F-series pickup roof collapse....
Stop it bro everyhting but a trump tv add tells tou that the economy is doing good get some education bro
That's what happens when the entire economy is based on debt.

Man, I am reconsidering my earlier thought of being "ripped off" when I bought a 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE new in October 2021.
So I’d be happy to see more Cadillac models on the roads.
if some company would make a simple, durable vehicle without a lot of tech junk in it for under 30K they would dominate
That's what the cheap mavericks are.
Almost 3 years ago my parents bought an almost fully loaded Kia Ceed for 25 k $. We can't turn back time I guess.
Our local Dodge dealers are offering diesel engines in any truck $9000 upgrade no charge for the last few months.
Crazy amounts of inventory here in Canada too.
You mean it's shocking to see a used car that's listed for more than MSRP, by $10k, not selling?
Only 2.5% of the pre-orders actually became sales.
