      I lived in a townhome for a long time that didn’t have garage options. So this is the workshop I’ve had to use. I recently bought my first home and finally have a garage now so hopefully I can create some content from there soon.

      I just got the transmission installed last week and it was not fun at all. It was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do as a mechanic and I never want to do it again lol
      But the end result was rewarding. I have my truck back on the road and she’s shifting great. If you plan on keeping your trailblazer for a lifetime. You’ll probably have to replace the 4L60E at some point. It’s almost inevitable 😔
      But yeah. Stick around! I have some more videos coming out soon about this! On Monday I’ll be uploading the transmission cooler install which if you haven’t done. Will definitely help you extend the life of your existing transmission. Please subscribe and stay tuned for the future videos 🙂

      @@PASSIONBUILT bro you are not kidding. i agree 100% lmao. one of the hardest things ive ever done and ive done alot of tough stuff too. my truck was on 4 ramps and i thought that would be high enough but it wasn't. i had to drag the trans off/on the jack from underneath the truck bc it wouldn't fit through the side while on the jack. i thought getting the trans back up in there was hard until i went to put my transfer case back in 😭 awe man what a nightmare lmao

    Don't forget to clear the taps in the ecm then bring it the someone to have the transmission updates reflashed to the latest software update so it shifts properly and doesn't poop out again ,

      Why would I need to replace my engine? Lol
      The engine is in great running condition still. My transmission is what failed.

    Detroit's packaging for shipping sucks. Ordered a set of lower control arms and upper ball joints for my 05 trailblazer. Box was not nearly strong enough to contain the control arms. The parts kit for one of the ball joints was missing. Got a refund on the ball joints after about 2 weeks of dealing with customer service. Like their part so far. (Also running their cv axles in the front and rotors all the way around.)

      Glad to hear they refunded you for the lost parts! Hopefully Detroit Axle steps their shipping game up.

    I have a question, Is it possible to swap in a 6L60?
    I bought a trailblazer in June and immediately starting looking at transmission stuff.
    But there isn't a lot of definitive information about it.
    I know it's *Theoretically* possible but as for actually? No clue.

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  2 года назад +1

      Hey there, Felix! I’m not familiar with the 6L60. But other people have mentioned doing 4L65 and 4L80 swaps on these trucks. However, it doesn’t seem like an easy / affordable swap and there really isn’t much info online about them which is why I just went with the rebuilt 4L60E and upgraded the transmission cooling system. My transmission cooler upgrade video will be live tomorrow around 12 PM EST if you’re interested in watching it. Please subscribe and check it out 🙂

      @@PASSIONBUILT Right, Not an easy thing to do.
      From what I've found though is that they are roughly similar in size.
      Very interested in the process of swapping a rebuild in though.
      @195k now so your videos on this are an amazing find. I live in the salt swamps of Northern Ohio so a lot of the bolts are a bit locked up.

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  2 года назад +1

      Oh wow. I’ve owned one car that lived the majority of its life in Ohio and I WILL NEVER buy another Ohio or northern car ever again 😂 the amount of rust I dealt with was unreal and made servicing anything suspension related a major pain. But yeah man. My factory 4L60 made it 250,500 miles and lost all gears while towing one of my Miatas home. 😵‍💫
      But honestly. This was one of the most difficult jobs I’ve ever had to do and it was not fun at all. The new 4L60 is in and so far so good! I hope it lasts another quarter million miles because I definitely don’t want to do this job again 😅

    • @FelixUmbra
      @FelixUmbra 2 года назад +1

      @@PASSIONBUILT Might be surprised to know that is mostly rust free.
      Can I say the same for my other cars?
      *No.* Not even close. By a long shot.
      They kept it clean and dry though.
      So it's just seized bolts and stuff for the most part.
      My guess is they traded it for a new model.
      Working as a Powder coater has its perks so refinishing the crusty stuff won't a big deal.
      Best of luck on the rest of the work on your TB!

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  2 года назад

      As long as you have a good impact. You should be able to remove the bolts fairly easy. That’s awesome that you’re a powder coater though! I wish I knew how to powder coat. But thanks for the support! Stay tuned for the upcoming videos of this transmission! 😃
