I sometimes forget that there are still literally generations of sweet women out there. Love is the weight of a human soul!
Robby Steinhardt's Violin Talent was showcased well in this song! Sadly He passed from this World to the next in July of 21 here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I was Fortunate to have met him at a local ice-cream shop on numerous occasions! He was a FUN GUY to converse with, and we shared a few laughs! LU-LU is correct!! Robby Kindly corrected me when I used the term "Fiddle", and He stated it was a "VIOLIN!"😅 My Bad! Robby was a Good Soul and is missed Greatly by those who knew and Loved Him! RIP Robby and Thanks for the Melodic Memories.🙏🎤🎻❤
Robby was a classically trained violinist.
The lead singer Steve Walsh is from my home town of St. Joseph, Mo. Met him at a local music store when he was with White Clover before they changed their name to Kansas.
This is truly one of most beautiful songs ever.
Its a trip to me that Lulu just heard this song and will never forget the time she heard it cause its on film. Love yall ladies.
Thank you so much. We appreciate you watching.
This is one of those ungodly beautiful songs that make it hard to believe it could have been created by just mere human beings....
They were searching, they found and told what they found in their album "Vinyl Confessions" with the song "Crossfire" ruclips.net/video/TlN1BJD_cak/видео.html
Carry On Wayward Son is one of the few if not only Kansas song that doesn’t have a violin part. The main lead singer, Steve Walsh, didn’t wear tuxes in concert. 🙂 In fact Steve kept in great shape and usually only wore a pair of athletic shorts, and back in the 1970’s - 1980’s they were the smaller, tighter shorts. 🙂 He usually never wore a shirt. Along with playing the organ/electric piano, bongos, and singing, he still found time to do head/hand stands on top of his piano. 😂 TRUE STORY!
Wow
Lol, that’s true. I saw them live long ago & that’s exactly what he was wearing
I swear, artists back then were so much more connected to reality than what we hear today
I got to see Kansas in concert. It was a great show. R.i.p. Robbie Steinhardt, you were an amazing musician. You are missed, but your music lives on.
I'm 63 and my mother wants this song played at her funeral.
The entire song came from Kerry doing some finger picking practice and his wife liked it. I love how music was made back then.
It's not only a beautiful song but also a powerful message. It you didn't get that, watch/listen to a lyric video.
This song was originally written as a guitar exercise by Kerry Livgren the blonde haired gentleman. His wife prodded him to add lyrics and it turned out to be there biggest hit. Try Lonely Wind from their first album for another soft song. Love your reactions guys!!!!
Thanks
Oh man ...such an iconic song! ... back in the days when music was craftmanship, creating art! So solid that it was able to carry tons of emotions.
Such an uplifting tune.
Beautiful song, beautiful harmonies. Great job introducing Lulu to great music for more generations to come.
Thanks for listening
Ecclesiastes, the first two chapters. Only two years after they released "Wayward son" they found the destination that these two songs describe the search for. Their album "Vinyl Confessions" the song "Crossfire" ruclips.net/video/TlN1BJD_cak/видео.html
If you were 20 some time in the 80's, you know this song
Back in the day when this was hot for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks, CO (God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 600 miles round trip with roughly $1.00 gas
I've seen them since then with the new band members in Reno (former Harrah's outdoor venue) Still killin' it.
I still have this LP./Album.
Carry on Wayward Sun.
Point of Know Return.
"All your money won't another minute buy".
Probably, the very best song I have ever heard is ," Time" by the Alan Parsons Project. I swear you will never, ever hear such a heart felt song that tells a story.
I'm in the middle of the reaction and it's delightful as always. Yeah Robbie played violin or fiddle depending because a lot of their stuff really had more of a classical feel to it where you would say it's more violin but he was playing that and most of their stuff.
They had a lot of really big hits, but one that I think you guys would really love is called Point of No Return from their iconic album called, Point of Know Return. And it is magnificent. It is a work of art and yeah there's some incredible violin Parts in that. It's such an emotional story and you can interpret it in different ways which is the beauty of really really good songwriting like that, but for me they were using old myths and allegories to talk about real struggles in the modern era at that young age in the 70s, and confronting your fears and your demons yet wanting adventure and trying to find something interesting out of life but your family misses you and they're worried about you and all that sort of thing. It's just a really powerful and emotional way to talk about it using music.
Thank you
Kansas was my favorite concert in the seventies.
"Kansas" deep cuts that you probably never heard, but are fantastic: "Miracles Out of Nowhere", "Icarus - Borne On Wings of Steel", and "Lamplight Symphony". All showcase great musicianship, and have wonderful lyrics.
Yeah... Boyd Tinsley from Dave Matthews Band plays what's more accustomed to a 'fiddle.' He saws away at it, Robby is a more classically influenced 'violin.' If that makes sense...
This song is in the top 5 rock songs of all time
6:00 - Yeah. The sound is cutting out, a lot, too. Lulu got it right, as far as it being a violin, because it's not Country (or Southern Rock). Check out "Fight Fire With Fire", too.
Yes Robby's violin and vocals were prominent in Kansas' music. The violin kind've set them apart from other bands of that era.
Love that (Fiddle) violin! 🎻
This song affects me with the same melancholy as ‘Time in a Bottle’ by Jim Croce.
Fantastic song, what a voice!
Time to give "Her Strut - Bob Seger" a shot. Bob gets you rocking.
Kansas "The Wall" is great tune
"and all your money, won't another minute buy!"
You gals are a real treat......I'll say that much. I really enjoy your reactions.
Wow, thank you!
"Miracle Out of Nowhere" is a great KANSAS tune. You will not be disappointed! There are many, many to choose from tho. For another slow one, try "The Wall".
🙏🏼❤️✌🏼🎯💯🌹👏🏼👍🏼🔥
Beautiful song great reaction 3G
Thanks 💯
I really appreciated seeing and hearing them in concert back in the day.
He plays a violin, fiddles are play in country and bluegrass.
All we are is dust in the wind. Here one day and gone the next.
A timeless song (ironically, about mortality and the finite time we have on this earth). I also think of Jim Croce’s “Time in a Bottle” in this regard...
My Dad's favorite Song
This song reminds me of the music video / song "Everything Dies" by Type O Negative. Maybe you ladies might react to that video.
Thanks for another great reaction you always put a smile on my face
Wow, thank you
Scorpions does an *AMAZING* cover of this number...
My Sister in Law went to high school with several of them in the late 60’s early 70’s
Wow awesome
song is both powerful & timeless! dbl ♥
This is my funeral song. 🫶
Played at Blue's funeral in the movie Old School.
Point of no return, people of the south wind, play the game tonight, fignht fire with fiire. Just s few more great Kansas dings to try out
The song that taught us how to play air-violin.
Parabéns pela família.
John Elefante es la voz principal en esta canción..Un Excelente Cantante que luego produjo y grabó música cristiana y junto a su hermano Dino formaron la agrupación Mastedon.
From what I've heard the Elefante brothers joined after the band converted to Christianity, all except for one, John was found to replace the one who didn't become Christian and left the group.
The lead singer on this was Steve Walsh
Point of Know Return, Cheyenne Anthem, Lonely Wind. Kansas is a deep rabbit hole.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT = all your money wont another minute buy.
You guys are awesome
Thank you
Hello Y'all, if ya liked this, try "Carry On My Wayward Son"! Just say'n... Joan Jett "I Love Rock 'N Roll"! ROCK ON!!! Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
Hello from Texas. Thanks for watching
It's good to see you explore Kansas, they are great and have made many songs that are worth listening to. It saddens me though that you went with the most suggested songs, the most obvious ones. Do not stop your journey here, but I'm pretty sure what song is next .... Hold on.
This song is so True❤
As others have stated, the violin and the fiddle are the same instrument. I think the 'proper' name is determined by the music genre. A fiddle is prominent in blue grass and country. A violin is used in other genres. But i could be wrong.
There are physical differences.
The fiddle bridge is not curved as much to make it easier playing two strings at once.
The strings are typically metal core instead of gut to give them a different sound.
I'm sure there are differences in the body also to give a different sound.
A fiddle would sound out of place in an orchestra.
Eagles Lyin eyes
Y'all are too cute
Thanks
Point of No Return by Kansas❤
Just have to say I enjoy watching the three generations of your family do these video reactions. Check out Point Of No Return by Kansas if you haven't already.
Cool, thanks!
"In heaven, everything is good; in hell, everything bad. In the world, since it lies between the two, you find both. We are placed between two extremes, and so participate in both. Good and bad luck alternate; not all is happy, nor all hostile. This world is a zero: on its own, it's worth nothing; joined to heaven, a great deal. Indifference to its variety constitutes good sense - the wise are never surprised. Our life is arranged like a play, everything will be sorted out in the end. Take care, then, to end it well." - Baltasar Gracián, 'The Pocket Oracle'
Wishing all three of you a blessed, safe, and peaceful Merry Christmas!
