You cannot go wrong with Jeff Lynn and ELO. They have more songs that can get stuck in your head than almost anyone else. My favorite of theirs is "Turn to Stone", but you also have "All Over the World", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Can't Get You Out of My Head", and so many more.
Jeff Lynn said in an interview that despite it being Electric Light Orchestra, it was the first time they had played live with a full orchestra, it was mind blowing
I was at Wembley Stadium that night, one of the best concerts i have ever seen. Special effects and the spaceship just added to the magnificent musicians on the stage.
Grandma's face reaction was great when she knew the song, I remember when it first came out, and I noticed not very many cell phones! Nice to see! And that violinist ❤ and she's good! I'm 65
I am flabbergasted. This sounds EXACTLY like the studio track! Bands who are this old have no right to still sound this pitch perfect. Especially with the vocals.
What comes to mind, is the happiness I see in the audience. Everyone there will remember that concert fondly for the rest of their lives. Wonderful music, and wonderful times.
Thank God I was a teenager during the 70s. Jeff's backing vocals were sung by Kelly Groucutt (RIP), Patti Quatro sang uncredited vocals, particularly the "higher and higher" parts on the album version.
I remembered living thing when met up with my wife late 1976 we met up in the November, engage in the December and married in the January 1977, ELO was and is my favourite group 60s and 70s, British bands were outstanding indeed it could be said they conquered the world ,
Yes, a hit from 1976, from their New World Record. From 1988 to 1990 singer/composer/guitarist Jeff Lynne was part of the Traveling Wilburys, with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison. You may like their songs End of the Line and Handle with Care.
I love, as you look at the crowd, you see all the generations singin along with e(they span the gens...).... young, old, etc!! It makes me think of Lynrd Skynrd - Freebird 1977, seeing the crowd and thinking...how many of those kids are now grandmas or Grandpas, or Great-Grandmas or Great-grandpas!?!?!?
The studio version of Livin' Thing by The Electric Light Orchestra had additional female backing vocals by Michigan pop band The Pleasure Seekers. Patti Quattro has uncredited backing vocals for the "higher and higher" part. Typically Jeff does lead and backing vocals with Kelly Groucutt the bassist and Bev Bevan the drummer also providing backing vocals I do believe. 😊
I was at that concert and it was brilliant from start to finish. 'It's a livin thing' is my fav, so to hear this 'live' was so special. The violinist hit it bang on too! Listen to 'Turn to Stone' and 'Mr Blue Sky' from the same concert....Amazing!
ELO is one of those groups that sounds just as good in concert as they do in the studio. I think my favorite one of theirs is "Evil Woman" and they do this one in the same concert.
Glad you like it. Not sure how I even missed this reaction video to see that you got it, considering how much I love ELO.. This song was probably the first song I heard that turned me on to them.. Enjoy the hoodie.
Electric Light Orchestra is my favorite! I just bought my first vinyl and it was their album “A New World Record”- which coincidentally enough, this song came from!
Nice reaction, I have seen Jeff Lynnes ELO twice in the last few years and they where fantastic, just a joyous experience and living thing is a great song.
Ahhhh ladies you reacted to my lifelong favourite band, the Electric Light Orchestra right back to the 1970s plus my newly discovered band Nightwish with Floor Jansen who I'd not heard of until 2 years ago. Thank you. 🙏❤️👍😊
I saw the original ELO several times in the 70's and then Jeff Lynne's ELO in 2017/18 - they were still brilliant. Jeff is a musical genius and legend. Enjoy !
The utterly fantastic and superb Jeff Lynne with his super talented Electric Light Orchestra sprinkling their magic onto the younger generations of our modern world although us 60 somethings were listening to this fantastic stuff when we were teenagers back in the day. But it’s still nice to see modern day young pups still appreciating what we had in the good old days.
In the original album release,Jeff Lynne sang all the parts the back up singer here sang. Sometimes during live performances, different singers or back up singers will sing parts that were originally sung by the artist to help them out.
This live jam is awesome, I went to their stadium tour with 70,000 of my closest friends that had the original band, but Jeff has that mellow soothing voice that few could not like...Keeep on a rockin Lady`s & I`ll keep a watching...hows about a lil " I turn to stone" when ya`ll aint around
I was a young teen stoner when I saw ELO perform in Northwest Indiana during the mid-70s at an amphitheater. My g/f & I felt horrible as an elderly couple, looked like in their 60s, were arguing because someone took advantage of them by selling them home-grown worthless stuff. We rolled them 3, no charge. They laughed & laughed & carried on like they were happy teens. That was my good deed for the day. 😎
You fine young ladies have good taste. Also I love look on peoples faces when they hear a song that they have always loved and finally realize it is ELO
Saw these guys back around the late 70’s early 80’s in San Francisco. They were so good. I believe the band Redbone opened for them but it’s been awhile. 😂
Thanks for posting this video, gave me goosebumps at the start 😊 I was actually there at Wembley, the musical Highlight of my life and was so happy I had my camera with me too. An amazing concert that you wanted to keep on going and such an amazing audience too 😊
this song came out in 1976, and yes the thing (vocals) with the backup singer was also on the original recording as well!! Jeff sounds just as good as he did way back then, hasn't changed at all!
started following ELO in 71, after Jeff took over from Roy Wood, who had 2 other bands, Wizard & The Move and his genius made them what became a super group in the 70s and 80s, a lot of their songs were done in collaboration with George Harrison of the Beatles with who Jeff Lynn lived with for some time, that's why George's son plays often with ELO and opens concerts with his own band. Still great and saw them twice when they played here in Toronto 2019 2020
I think Cathy is really smart and in control of it all. I really like her reactions and a great face to boot. Beautiful. Great job ladies. Take care of yourselves and keep having fun. Not everyone gets to hang with family the wat uous guys do.
Listen to Rockaria, Showdown, Turn To Stone, Calling America, Last Train To London, of course Mr Blue Sky, and any other ELO tracks you find, there's loads of great songs !
ELO definitely had the backing vocals as it is here….a big part of their sound…and Jeff really does sound great and did an excellent job of recreating the sound of the original band…very nice!
A Great Album Project that Jeff Lynne was part of & arguably the Greatest "Super Group" of all time "The Traveling Wilbury's " which Featured Jeff with his friend , George Harrison of The Beatles , Bob Dylan , the Legendary Roy Orbison ( His song "Not Alone Anymore" being the albums highlight for me ) and "The kid" of the band Tom Petty . The album is a gem from start to finish & the video that the 4 remaining members did as a tribute to their sadly departed member , Roy , "End of the Line" brings a tear to the eye every time .
Love the coronet fanfare leading into the plucked violin. It's all wonderful! This and "Turn to Stone" are probably their most mind-blowingly awesome songs, but they have a large catalog of wonderful tunes.
So glad you got to this one after your reaction to telephone line just knew you would love this . great reaction guys . Nothing to do with ELO with the big hair theme I would like to suggest Roy Wood from Wizard doing the song see my baby jive now he had big hair lol
I Like this Orchestra and Have a Few CDS in My Collection and Been Having Computer Problems so glad getting it Working Again and Been Listening To The Firm which Are A 60's/70's Group. Chris Tredwell Birmingham UK
A crowd full of well-to-do Baby Boomers.....which I am a member of. I can guarantee ELO absolutely LOVES their Boomer fans for sure. It's like the "good ol' days" all over again.....but now 40 yrs later.
keep in mind, this song is around like 48 years and has brought joy to generations and still does.
Because it’s actual freaking MUSIC! My God!
Grandparents rocking out with a band of grandparents 😂🎉!
Jeff is from my hometown, Birmingham,England. We are so proud of him! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Ozzy Osbourne is also from Birmingham 😊
I had no idea ELO was British. Of course! You guys always have the best bands.
You should be Jeff is a musical legend and a proper stand up guy
We are so blessed with having the Best Bands in the World.
You need to watch the whole 2017 Wembley concert 👍👍
You just can't help but feel happy every time you hear ELO.
Lulu is getting a great musical education 👏 👌 🤘🇳🇱
This is a 70's classic
You cannot go wrong with Jeff Lynn and ELO. They have more songs that can get stuck in your head than almost anyone else. My favorite of theirs is "Turn to Stone", but you also have "All Over the World", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Can't Get You Out of My Head", and so many more.
Jeff LYNNE not LYNN.
@@leestockton9367 Typo. I know.
I am partial to “Confusion”
Jeff Lynn said in an interview that despite it being Electric Light Orchestra, it was the first time they had played live with a full orchestra, it was mind blowing
That concert was televised, you might be able to download it. The other numbers are amazing too, and as for the light show……
I was at Wembley Stadium that night, one of the best concerts i have ever seen. Special effects and the spaceship just added to the magnificent musicians on the stage.
Awesome
One of, if not the best acts of the 1970's & 1980's. What a sound. Jeff Lynne and ELO is as good as it gets. Love it!!
Grandma's face reaction was great when she knew the song, I remember when it first came out, and I noticed not very many cell phones! Nice to see! And that violinist ❤ and she's good! I'm 65
fact is that we actually hear a viola, not a violin
The smiles on your faces are priceless. It's amazing what great music does to your soul. Continue the great reactions beautiful ladies
Thank you!! 😊
I am flabbergasted. This sounds EXACTLY like the studio track! Bands who are this old have no right to still sound this pitch perfect. Especially with the vocals.
The Langly sisters on strings are fabulous. The violin solo and her sister on cello, MAGIC!!!
What comes to mind, is the happiness I see in the audience. Everyone there will remember that concert fondly for the rest of their lives.
Wonderful music, and wonderful times.
Love growing up in the 1970s even here in Belfast Northern Ireland
Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO! The best live Classic Rock Band ever!
I saw ELO when I was a teenager at Football Park in Adelaide, South Australia. What an incredible memory for this 66 year old fan!
70's was the best decade of music
Yes it was!
And eighties!
It was the best decade to grow up as a kid too. I have nothing but wonderful memories of that era.
I'm so glad to raise up in the 70s. Such a peaceful time and so good music
I first saw this song on Top Of The Pops November 1976. I was hooked. I bought the album in February which I consider is their best album.
Thank God I was a teenager during the 70s. Jeff's backing vocals were sung by Kelly Groucutt (RIP), Patti Quatro sang uncredited vocals, particularly the "higher and higher" parts on the album version.
Yeah. spent all of my teen years in the 70s.
40+ years ago ELO was everywhere. Some of their tunes were played by my high school band at basketball games, etc..
I remembered living thing when met up with my wife late 1976 we met up in the November, engage in the December and married in the January 1977, ELO was and is my favourite group
60s and 70s, British bands were outstanding indeed it could be said they conquered the world ,

Don't forget that Jeff is also one of the greatest record producers of all time!
The song Telephone Line performed at Wembley is a must.
Jeff used to have a massive Afro in the 1970's & he hasn't been seen without sunglasses since 1977.
This humble and a little shy GENIUS!!!
Si...è molto strano!
Another great song and reaction. Just a feel good song. Love ELO. 💋 from 🇮🇹🇪🇺 Italy.
I saw them 6 years ago at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. Wow what a show. Light show and the music was outstanding!
Sold out concerts, as all of them are. Saw them in concert in 1972 in Seattle with Deep Purple, such an epic concert.
Jeff Lyne IMO is one of Britain's greatest ever song writers. Thank you for the excellent video and reaction.
Jeff LYNNE not Lyne
My all time favourite band ELO. Jeff Lynn is music genius. ❤🎼😎🇬🇧
Turn to Stone, and Evil Woman from the same concert are fire!🔥
Mr. Blue Sky! The happiest song ever!!
My all time fave. That and David Bowies Rebel Rebel.
Amazing group each and every one
Congratulations Lulu on your ribbon great reaction.
Thank you so much 😀
Great performance for an extraordinary song. One of my favorites ever!
Regards from Chile.

There's only one live recording of the Pleasure Seekers on YT afaik, but Suzy Quattro's performance will stay on your mind for a long while.
I went to see this tour at Nottingham. When he toured after YEARS of silence it was fantastic to see him back.
I was at that concert and it was brilliant from start to finish. 'It's a livin thing' is my fav, so to hear this 'live' was so special. The violinist hit it bang on too! Listen to 'Turn to Stone' and 'Mr Blue Sky' from the same concert....Amazing!
Wow, what an experience it must have been to be in that stadium!
wow the loverly ladies watching one of my fav bands the more songs you listen to deeper down the rabbit hole you go, lol thank you great watch
Thanks for listening
ELO is one of those groups that sounds just as good in concert as they do in the studio. I think my favorite one of theirs is "Evil Woman" and they do this one in the same concert.
Always loved this song....and now feeling ignorant 'cause I never knew ELO sang it......learning something new everyday 😊
Absolutely nothing better than music out of the sixties and seventies. ELO was, is, and ALWAYS will be CLASSIS as HELL. I love it.
saw them live they are so so good
Glad you like it. Not sure how I even missed this reaction video to see that you got it, considering how much I love ELO.. This song was probably the first song I heard that turned me on to them..
Enjoy the hoodie.
Great to see 2 generations enjoying my favourite band together try tighteope and across the border next rhanks ladies ❤❤❤
What an amazing concert to have been at.
Electric Light Orchestra is my favorite! I just bought my first vinyl and it was their album “A New World Record”- which coincidentally enough, this song came from!
Two of their other big hits that they played at this particular show are just incredible: Turn To Stone and Telephone Line
Nice reaction, I have seen Jeff Lynnes ELO twice in the last few years and they where fantastic, just a joyous experience and living thing is a great song.
My Birthday: 10/19/1960. 3 generations of music appreciation? I'm all in! I subscribed immediately!

Ahhhh ladies you reacted to my lifelong favourite band, the Electric Light Orchestra right back to the 1970s plus my newly discovered band Nightwish with Floor Jansen who I'd not heard of until 2 years ago. Thank you. 🙏❤️👍😊
Don't miss him LIVE, he's doing a farewell tour this year through the U.S.
Great performance of a brilliant song. I wasn't expecting it to sound this good.
Love Donna's accent greetings from UK xxx

Awesome tune!!
first time seeing your channel, what a great reaction from you all! :D loving it, Cheers. ELO are something else!
I saw the original ELO several times in the 70's and then Jeff Lynne's ELO in 2017/18 - they were still brilliant. Jeff is a musical genius and legend. Enjoy !

loved "smiling so much my face is hurting" 💖
This reminds me when this song first time came out, fond memories with the original group members doing it. It's that old, and I'm older than it😂
And My Hometown City Too! Proud To Be A Brummie
!!
I grew up as a Heavy Metal fan, but ELO has always been one of my favorite bands!
I think you guys are going to love this one

Fantastic
this song came out in 1976, and yes the thing (vocals) with the backup singer was also on the original recording as well!! Jeff sounds just as good as he did way back then, hasn't changed at all!
Jeff did some good work with the supergroup Travelling Willberries

A great great song! Such a happy upbeat song! ❤️🙏
So glad you got to this one after your reaction to telephone line just knew you would love this . great reaction guys . Nothing to do with ELO with the big hair theme I would like to suggest Roy Wood from Wizard doing the song see my baby jive now he had big hair lol
I caught this show in Detroit and they were flawless! Great harmonies!

The Firm which Are A 60's/70's Group.
Chris Tredwell Birmingham UK
A band that always delivered the great stuff. Made high school and get togethers that much more fun!
ELO were extremely popular in the 70's in the UK. Check out the videos of ELO with the Shuffle Dancing.... !! Best wishes girls from the UK.
Lulu, whenever I suggest this group, I always say don’t let the name fool you, their as rock and roll as The Beatles are
A crowd full of well-to-do Baby Boomers.....which I am a member of. I can guarantee ELO absolutely LOVES their Boomer fans for sure. It's like the "good ol' days" all over again.....but now 40 yrs later.
Lulu got funny. Enjoy the fun you have together. It's priceless, and memorable later. Jeff lynn was a great song writer. So fun! 👏🤟🍻
The absolutely best quirky song by ELO has got to be Jungle. Love that song. All of there songs are classics
