I'm sorry that the beginning edit makes it look misleading. The reason I filmed the old version was because this week I was getting married and despite my personal life I still needed to upload in a timely manner for this HUGE release. I thought that since I've still never heard RED from back in 2012, that I could film in two parts. Part 1 being for the songs that were on the original (and now redone on TV) and the newly added ones from TV and The Vault. Since filming this video I have also filming a separate video listening to the ACTUALLY TV but it might be a while since that comes out. Having a life and trying to be a full time youtube is very stressful and seeing a ton of comments about how Im "supporting her stolen records" and in that way Pooper Braun is the last thing I need for my mental heath so please consider this message before leaving your comment. Maroon feels like it's about harry. Red was one person, then maroon is what that red faded into. The only other person that line could b about is calvin but he didn't leave a legacy, She forgot he even existed. Who would she see every day? The most famous ex. Who has left a real legacy? Well. Yeeess. The video of I knew you were trouble might have some reference to harry (though, it has much more to john) but I doesn't mean it was written for him.
Knowing “All too well” and “the moment I knew” are the ones that got to him the most, I just know he’s going to be wrecked by *that* line in ATW 10 mins
Dude I couldn’t even tell you I wasn’t even a fan of him before spider-man far from home now I fell guilty every time I laughed watching his interviews from back then
i didn't read the pinned comment until state of grace was almost over and i was like "damn she really does sound exactly the same on these re-records!!" but i'm glad you're experiencing the original for the first time now so you can compare it to the version she owns when you listen :)
i always thought that 22 after all too well didn't make sense but after the all too well 10 min version, i just want to say i am sorry taylor. i'll never question you ever again.
@@sam_sa09there's a lyric in all too well 10min version that's not in the original about her not having a good 21st bday and overall a crappy experience that year because of that relationship
troy: i simply do not care who this is about, i couldnt care less, soz also troy, by the end of the album: painfully invested, checking every back story and planning to build a gyllenhaal piñata 😂
on top of me pausing the video to say the exact same things about the youtube copyright free music and the “hey guys!” comments and then hearing him say them 😭
Yeah the lyrics on speak now!! It's a lyrical masterpiece plus it almost a rock album...I hope Taylor will now make speak now tv!! Omg it's my fav album from her
Her and Joe Jonas dated for a few months and she wrote a few songs about him that were very… sad to say the least but holy ground was written after her came to one of her shows during speak now tour and looked back at it as a happier experience. Also the line from invisible string about sending her ex’s baby a present was about him and his wife’s baby!
I feel like they both were dumb teens, made mistakes and now that they grew they can see each other eye to eye, we quiet literally can see their relationship develop through 4 albums. John Meyer and Jake Gyllenhaal were both adults who were careless with her.
y’all i’ve been a swiftie for 15 years and i STILL think people should hear the ORIGINAL SONGS FIRST… before taylor’s versions. because honestly? they ARE different. i firmly do not think people should stream the stolen versions but they should hear them just once before they listen to the new renditions.
I own the physical copies of her old albums and I agree. I will forever use my cd and vinyl (they have already been paid for) for the old versions if I want to hear it. I only stream TV. Definitely different though between the versions.
on the eras tour, she sang "the lucky one" as a surprise song and introduced it as a song about "how terrible it is being famous" lolll so you're spot on with this analysis. trivia: 13 has been her lucky number through her whole life. the lucky one is track 13 and she says "lucky" 13 times!
i love the way she put we are never getting back together after i almost do because she’s like “u we’re asking me if we could try again and i kinda want too but i know it’s bad for me” and then like “yea no. that’s not happening. no more thinking involved on that matter” i just love it
I disagree with people who have said her re-recordings sound identical to the old ones! One of the best parts of her re-releasing her albums is new & better production and her vocals are MUCH stronger and more mature! The re-recordings stay mostly true to the originals but there are differences.
better production for sure, but she now uses the very pop idea of squaring off her vocals in the EQ so everything is volume matched. Personally it would feel so much better if she left it like the original and let the highs and lows actually be highs and lows. Now i absolutely love the new version and always will. Just my personal opinion
@@AllTheArtsyI agree but for a lot of songs tv sound better like tell me why, out of woods , I know places , welcome to New York, red all these rerecord are better
Hey Troy, I'm sorry people have been cruel in the comments. Sometimes Swifties are...a lot. Thanks for putting this video out at all!! Love watching your reactions. Can't wait for part 2! And congratulations on getting married!! That is definitely the priority!
a little random fact: the reason jake didn't go to taylor's21st birthday party was because he decided to be a groupie and join Mumford and sons on tour and hang out with them. imagine hanging out with a bunch of dudes, not because they're your friends, but because you like their band instead of going to your girlfriend's birthday party like you promised her you would.... this man was a grown-ass 30-year-old at the time...
I believe this happen because he didn’t want to ruin her birthday, because he thought she hated him for breaking up with her? They were broken up at that point, weren’t they?
Not sure if someone has pointed this out already, but one of the most beautiful things about being a Taylor fan is all the easter eggs and call backs, one of my favorite being the imagery of the birthday party all throughout the album to then have her blowing out the candles in her music video of 'Lover' with her "lover", symbolizing that he'll be at every birthday party of hers and it was an awesome way to show the night and day difference between this relationship and the beautiful one she's in now
i just love how he changed from "common, it's his job" to dying while the moment i knew was playing... THAT'S THE FEELING!!!!!! can't wait to the taylor's version reactionnn
Holy sh*t your reaction to the moment I knew was everything I never knew I needed. That song has been so critically under appreciated and you gave it the love and tears and screaming it deserves thank you for that
Yesssss thank you!! His reaction was EXACTLY how I felt the first time I heard it and every time I hear it lol it’s sooo good makes anyone in the world experience that situation 😭
When this album came out and I listened to the album version of All Too Well, it was super relatable for my relationship that had just ended and I felt like the lyrics had come out of my own head. BUT THEN the 10 minute version came out and it was VISCERAL
Your reaction to all the sad songs slowly getting more and more emotional as the album progresses is exactly the correct reaction to this album. Kudos, Troy. Kudos
honestly, i'm very glad you decided to listen the original versions first. for me, listening to this album for the first time was literally a religious experience and i'm glad you got to experience this too :) i feel like listening to this one and then taylor's version lets you appreciate the re-recording more. awesome video and the best reactions as always. enjoy married life dude!!
can you believe that taylor literally wrote "so casually cruel in the name of being honest"? i know it has been 9 years but still i don't actually believe it
I literally had to laugh out loud when you heard the "they are all singing happy birthday to you" 😂😂 like the delay and everything and it sinking in is just wonderful 45:49
My experience with Red: When the album came out me and my sister drove around listening to it at 10 PM while drinking milkshakes and I felt like punching someone and hugging someone and crying all at the same time. Great experience, highly recommend
NOT YOU APOLOGIZING WHEN YOUR WERE LITTERALLY GETTING MARRIED !!!! CONGRATS 🙏🏽 Don't worry about it, we totally understand why you reacted to the Original RED before, that's sooo fair, your reaction is priceless
Y’all he literally is posting the reaction to her version this week. He had never experienced red so he did the old version to appreciate and understand the growth the new album. Also the man just got married I’m shocked we are getting content at all!! ❤️🧣 thanks Troy
but it was also sad because it was just a daydream of her in a perfect relationship but there's also some juvenility in her idea of a perfect relationship
Super disheartened to see this comments section was filled with negativity. Everyone should hear OG first in my opinion. While I exclusively stream TV now, I started off a swiftie with her debut album which means I listened to her OG recordings for YEARS. Everyone deserves to hear it. Just saying. With that being said, Thank you Troy for listening to her albums and giving us your reactions! You are not obligated to do so and I enjoy and appreciate it! And thank you for putting out a video so close to your wedding! Insane. Thank you 💜
you can really hear the differences between the stolen version of red and the music its so much better now im so proud of her her vocals have also improved so much its so nice to watch her grow
I’ve literally never sat through an entire reaction video but dude, I can’t stop watching. I’m obsessed with Taylor. So proud of her. And it’s mind blowing she wrote these songs that have such depth at 22. Have fun at your wedding!!
i have 3 things to say abt red tv 1. it enhanced the album IN SO MANY WAYS that red is now my second fave taylor album which is a really big thing bc folklore and rep were my n.1 and n.2 and they were impossible to go down top 2 but red totally surpassed reputation by a mile with the taylor’s version, still not going to be my fave rn bc folklore will always be my fave but god this is so amazing, red was my n.4 fave bc its the album which i became a swiftie in 2013 so it has also a huge sentimental value 2. i loved everything except the “weeeee” on wanegbt but i think im gonna get used to it soon update: I already got used to it and don't mind it 3. it made me HATE jake even more than what i did before
@@justincera1770 it’ll probably be the next re-recording bc she has teased so much things abt it but it could also be 1989 so just like she said on champagne problems, “we’re f*cked in the head” trying to figure it out
OMG! Folklore and Rep are my n.1 and n.2!!!! I don't consider myself a swiftie BUT with the pandemic I was like ok, I'm going to listen to folklore (even when I'm not a fan but everyone says is so different and prrrr) and after loving it sooo much it was like: Ok, this is it, this is how I enter to the Swift universe xD Then I listen to Lover (I liked like 3-4 songs but as an album it wasn't my cup of tea; then from 1989 I reaaaally liked 6 songs, but again, is not an album that I listen from top to bottom) and THEN I listened to Reputation and OMG, SO GOOD!!! I did something Bad, Don't Blame Me, Getaway Car, ... Ready For It?, King of My Heart, Delicate, New Year's Day??!!! Absolutely favs and they probably are going to appear in my "Spotify Wrapped" from this year xD Red wasn't my thing back in the days but now with her experience-mature voice plus the new production made me enjoy this album a lot (I mark as fav 17 from the 30 tracks) and I sobbed with the All Too Well 10 min. version.
I just want to say that you’re the only reaction channel where I re-watch your album reactions. Your sense of humor, honesty, and “production” ;) make it super entertaining. So I love rewatching because it’s just fun to go through it with you over and over. :)

Hey! I just want to say it's totally okay that you first listened to the old album, I get it. I would want to compare them too if I never heard either. Always really love watching your reactions and am looking forward to part 2 of this
Congrats on the wedding, Troy!!! And thanks for the video. I'm halfway through and already can't wait for part 2 with the vault tracks. Please, take your time to release it 😊
So “I knew you were trouble” actually isn’t about Harry (I’m pretty sure no song on red is about him) because they were all written before they even started dating because they dated during the red era im pretty sure (another swiftie can fact check me lol) but “I knew you were trouble” is in fact about John Mayer probably :)
she said that ikywt and treacherous are about the same person, and when she performed ikywt live at the Brits, she got interviewed and said it was easy to access that emotion because the person she wrote it about was in the crowd. john nor jake were there, but harry was. she dated him a bit before red came out I believe??
@@tangyjenna she never said that. She never said 'the person is in this crowd' and what she said in the acceptance speech 'the person who knows exactly who he is' was for John Mayer cuz after the release of dear john he said her songwriting is cheap
I was having a devastating night: 2 am, extremely depressed and thinking dark thoughts, but this video and your reaction made me smile and laugh and even cry, in the good way. I survived another night. Thank you so much. 💓
Oh no, I hope your doing better now but I can sympathize, sometimes days don’t go your way but sometimes someone being silly and being in love with things that you love too can make it better
To anyone bullying over the fact it's the old version of the album in this video: Let's not pretend like most swifties have stopped listening to the albums that have not yet been re-released. Good job if you did, but personally I could not have gone two years without All too well in my life. It's amazing Troy managed to put out a video in such an important week in his life, also that way he gets to know the differences between Red and Red TV. ALSO, the important thing to note is that, despite common belief, Taylor IS getting paid when people listen to the original versions. She has songwriting copyrights, which Scooter can never own. So yes, Scooter is getting money but so is Taylor. So Troy is not listening to Taylor's work without giving her credit and I think that's what's most important while we wait for him to experience the magnificence that is Red TV, and -I'm sure- then proceeds to never give the original album another listen in his life!
it hits different now that 22 is right after all too well now, now that we know Jake missed her 21 birthday and was sad and was like "turning 21 is supposed to be fun" so for turning 22 all she wanted to do is have fun and forget about heart break
the lucky one is such a masterpiece by ms swift, she starts the song off talking about a girl who has it all and she seems to envy the fact this girl has so much attention and always seems to just be loved by everyone. I love it when she says in the second verse "Now it's big black cars and Riviera views, and your lover in the foyer doesn't even know you" I love the comparison between this young girl who has it all but true love. She continues this idea again when she says "And they tell you that you're lucky, but you're so confused, 'Cause you don't feel pretty, you just feel used". When all in your life thing come from being beautiful and you see people treat you different, when taylor sings this, she represent the feeling that comes along with constantly being valued for your ever fleeting beauty. You no longer feel beautiful you feel like thats all your identity is and feel unwanted for who you are and used. The song then changes the point of view making taylor the new pretty artist that everyone is obsessed with and she begins to understand how hard it is to value who you are when you feel like anything anyones paying attention to are the shallow details of your life and mistakes you made. Later in the song swift says "'Cause now my name is up in lights, but I think you got it right" referencing how now she's famous but at what cost, she wonders how long her beauty will keep her relevant.
watching your reactions to Taylors albums made me realise how numb I've become to her lyrics, man I WISH I could still get this emotional listening to her songs
im actually glad you reacted to the old all too well, bc the guitar arrangements are a FORCE to be reckoned with. and the new version is a lot calmer, concentrating in taylor's vocals rather than the instrumentation. i wish you the best for your wedding!!
About Girl at Home: I heard a theory that this could've been about Zac Efron. Taylor and Zac voiced an animated movie together (The Lorax), went on Ellen together around that time too. Apparently it's known that Zac turns off his phone during movie shift hours or something. Anyway, at that time he was supposed to have been in a relationship with an actress, I can't remember who. But they broke it off pretty soon after and it was speculated that the dating/relationship vibes were for PR. None of this is confirmed, obviously.
Justice for The Last Time. It's her best duet, I won't hear any arguments at this point. The new version hits even more! The Last Time walked, so Exile could run.
Sir the energy in this video is immaculate. I also recently got back into her music and I was so hyped for Red to come out, and your reactions are the f-ing BEST. Keep up the great work dude!

Dude I couldn’t even tell you I wasn’t even a fan of him before spider-man far from home now I fell guilty every time I laughed watching his interviews from back then

Him crying, sobbing, moving around a bunch is EXACTLY how I'd want someone to react to "the moment I knew"! lolol

Hahahahah my reaction was “omg she has improved a lot”. I should dig my own grave at this point
i always thought that 22 after all too well didn't make sense but after the all too well 10 min version, i just want to say i am sorry taylor. i'll never question you ever again.

Agreed! I think that's how she feels with Harry, too. And they're also cool now.
Aly and aj song potential love song is also about joe i think he regrets hurting these girls 🤣🤣
Is vigilante shit ‘picture me thick as thieves with your ex wife’ about Joe and Sophie too? I presumed but haven’t looked into it 🤣
y’all i’ve been a swiftie for 15 years and i STILL think people should hear the ORIGINAL SONGS FIRST… before taylor’s versions. because honestly? they ARE different. i firmly do not think people should stream the stolen versions but they should hear them just once before they listen to the new renditions.
no, i agree. been here since 2006 and strictly only listen to TV versions now
i listened to the stolen versions on RUclips for the first time and now I only listen to her version on Spotify
I own the physical copies of her old albums and I agree. I will forever use my cd and vinyl (they have already been paid for) for the old versions if I want to hear it. I only stream TV. Definitely different though between the versions.
same i heard the TV first for a lot of them and the ones i actually listened to first hit harder in TV
I pirate them XD
on the eras tour, she sang "the lucky one" as a surprise song and introduced it as a song about "how terrible it is being famous" lolll so you're spot on with this analysis. trivia: 13 has been her lucky number through her whole life. the lucky one is track 13 and she says "lucky" 13 times!
i love the way she put we are never getting back together after i almost do because she’s like “u we’re asking me if we could try again and i kinda want too but i know it’s bad for me” and then like “yea no. that’s not happening. no more thinking involved on that matter” i just love it
I disagree with people who have said her re-recordings sound identical to the old ones!
Yeah, the original sounds so much better
I thinks it’s meant more as a compliment when they say they almost sound identical
But for a lot of song emotions are harder in og like my first taylor song is blank space and tv doesn't hit that way so I always listen to og
As a fan I agree. Really appreciate his video

a little random fact: the reason jake didn't go to taylor's21st birthday party was because he decided to be a groupie and join Mumford and sons on tour and hang out with them. imagine hanging out with a bunch of dudes, not because they're your friends, but because you like their band instead of going to your girlfriend's birthday party like you promised her you would.... this man was a grown-ass 30-year-old at the time...
I believe this happen because he didn’t want to ruin her birthday, because he thought she hated him for breaking up with her? They were broken up at that point, weren’t they?
I can't even imagine how devastated Taylor was. Damn that man. He deserves the 10 minute All Too Well version indeed.
How funny that now she records in their studio and Marcus Mumford sings backup vocals on cowboy like me.
@@Jakerski no they didn’t break up till January and then they were on & off after that I believe
lol and now taylor has a song with Mumford and sons
This is a pop country album, I love how Taylor prepared us when she goes fully pop

I love that you heard the original All Too Well before the ten minutes version!! It's so gorgeous on its own and feels like its own thing.
When this album came out and I listened to the album version of All Too Well, it was super relatable for my relationship that had just ended and I felt like the lyrics had come out of my own head. BUT THEN the 10 minute version came out and it was VISCERAL
"When you turn 22 this song WILL be on your Instagram story, you don't even have to be a taylor fan, it's part of life now"

seeing you bawling your eyes out to all to well and then jamming to 22 is such a mood she gave us all the emotions with this album.

Insane. Thank you 💜

The Moment I Knew plays : ~has a full breakdown~
i have 3 things to say abt red tv
1. it enhanced the album IN SO MANY WAYS that red is now my second fave taylor album which is a really big thing bc folklore and rep were my n.1 and n.2 and they were impossible to go down top 2 but red totally surpassed reputation by a mile with the taylor’s version, still not going to be my fave rn bc folklore will always be my fave but god this is so amazing, red was my n.4 fave bc its the album which i became a swiftie in 2013 so it has also a huge sentimental value
2. i loved everything except the “weeeee” on wanegbt but i think im gonna get used to it soon
update: I already got used to it and don't mind it
3. it made me HATE jake even more than what i did before
SAME, red is now my 3rd favorite (folklore and evermore are still number 1 and speak now n2), this version is so much more than the original
@@isbravesun I can't wait for Speak Now TV!

Absolutely favs and they probably are going to appear in my "Spotify Wrapped" from this year xD Red wasn't my thing back in the days but now with her experience-mature voice plus the new production made me enjoy this album a lot (I mark as fav 17 from the 30 tracks) and I sobbed with the All Too Well 10 min. version.
This album broke me. I came to the party late, but found Red while going through my divorce😢😢😢. Taylor healed my soul, for real!
At least you showed up to the party 🤷🏻♀️

That’s exactly what I did
I don't go a week without listening to reputation. I'm sorry Taylor. It's too good

it hits different now that 22 is right after all too well now, now that we know Jake missed her 21 birthday and was sad and was like "turning 21 is supposed to be fun" so for turning 22 all she wanted to do is have fun and forget about heart break
I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a red album reaction more than this. Definitely joining your Patreon to watch the uncut.
the lucky one is such a masterpiece by ms swift, she starts the song off talking about a girl who has it all and she seems to envy the fact this girl has so much attention and always seems to just be loved by everyone. Later in the song swift says "'Cause now my name is up in lights, but I think you got it right" referencing how now she's famous but at what cost, she wonders how long her beauty will keep her relevant.
watching your reactions to Taylors albums made me realise how numb I've become to her lyrics, man I WISH I could still get this emotional listening to her songs
im actually glad you reacted to the old all too well, bc the guitar arrangements are a FORCE to be reckoned with. and the new version is a lot calmer, concentrating in taylor's vocals rather than the instrumentation.
i wish you the best for your wedding!!

troy, after taylor says there was one thing missing: *in tears* what
About Girl at Home: I heard a theory that this could've been about Zac Efron.
