forever winter is actually about taylors bestfriend in highschool who she was friends with after graduation aswell, she said she use to play all her songs for him, he seemed mostly fine but turns out he had panic attacks and taylor called him and begged him not to take him life saying its just a phase "its not just a phase im in" .. sadly he took his life at the age of 21 and taylor sang this song on his funeral aswell

Lol I saw this comment before getting to the reaction so I knew what to expect but I actually cant believe he missed almost every major new lyric on the song lolll. I think him listening to the short film first was a mistake, it distracted him way too much and he was talking about what he was seeing instead of listening to the song. I think the criticism is valid, I wish he would just pause the songs when he wants to start talking, still a fun video overall but it was quite frustrating there at the end.
Fun fact: Taylor was either putting Better Man or All Too Well on the album and ultimately decided on All Too Well. She gave Better Man to Little Big Town and it was a massive success and even won a grammy. It’s been a massive success among the fans and she actually recorded it as a vault track because we asked A LOT for it hahaha ❤️

My favorite little detail in the short film is that Taylor cast someone named Jake Lyon to play "older Jake" in the end scene. As in "Jake Lyin'". I googled Jake Lyon and discovered he is an overwatch gamer, not an actor. The level of pettiness to cast a gamer in your short film because his last name is "Lyon" is next level and I adore her for it.
Forever winter hit 100× harder when i realised it's actually not about a relationship but about a friend of hers who struggled with addiction and depression and overdosed. LITERALLY SOBBING ON THE FLOOR NOW WHEN I LISTEN TO THIS 😭

Okay, when she says "The only real thing you've ever known" they're showing a very familiar kiss, the spiderman kiss. Jake Gyllenhaal dated Kristen Dunst who we all know played Mary Jane. There's an old interview of Jake saying that he'd only fallen in love once, he was talking about Kristen. I think young Taylor was referring to herself when she said that, but now, old Taylor looks back at it and knows it wasn't her, so maybe it could be a nod to that, or maybe I'm just overthinking it. But also, in the spiderman movies, Mary Jane is the one who initiates the kiss with first Peter, and then another love interest as if trying to have the same magic, the same spark but after it happens, she realizes it's not the same.

Forever winter is actually about a highschool friend she had called Jeff who died from drug overdose. There was a award she was getting in 2011-12 (I don't remeber which) where she talked about dedicating that award to Jeff who had recently died and she had gone on his funeral.

She used to play every single song in front of him before they were released. After he got into depression and started using drugs, she was there but also wasn’t there.
