Here are some suggestions on storing all your seed packets with vintage style.
I'll be sowing some seeds from a very special garden, the garden of Tasha Tudor. If you don't know much about this lady, please watch my Tasha Tudor video from a few years back here: • Walk thru the Potager ...

What absolutely beautiful seed storage you created 💖
Those storage boxes are so beautiful 🌸🌷🌝👍
So exciting to get seed sowing! Here in the uk we can’t buy peat for our compost mixes anymore, peat bogs are Carbon sinks and disturbing them contributes to climate change so they have to be preserved. The Horticulture industry is still allowed to use it so that they have a bit longer to find worthwhile alternatives. Takes a while to find a good mix as they all behave slightly differently so it will be interesting to see how your mixture works out. Good luck!
Our peat comes from Peat Farms in Canada and is a renewable resource. I have no problem using peat. However, I really like the consistency and fluffiness of the cococoir, it is cheaper and easier to use.
What a cute tea kitty and doggie Jeri 🙌🏻 ….. Lovely seed storing ideas too. You are very organized and certainly ready for spring…may those Tasha Tudor seeds turn out well indeed. X
I will be watching over those seeds like a mother hen!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Of course you will 🤗.
😍As usual, lovely descriptions, vids, items, pets, plants, stories.....everything about Jeri is simply lovely ! 🥰
Yes! I agree! I want to be just like her in my 2nd half of life! Which starts now! Hahaha
@@jameyfisher423 hahah me too! =)
I love the draws. My mum had a singer sewing machine with draws like those.sending love from England.xx🐝🐝
Tasha Tudor, my favorite in so many ways❤. I love how you’ve stored your seeds, absolutely perfect. We still have awhile to wait here in upstate New York though I’ve noticed tulip leaves popping up and my garlic is doing well. Love your channel❤
I would love to walk around your property and take all the inspiration in.
It can be quite a mess, I only show the good stuff!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow oh how I know the feeling 😂
It's hard to wait to start planting/sowing, isn't it? The sun is shining here in Northwest West Virginia, but the temp is cool and the wind is blowing. I am so tempted to put something in the ground because I long to so much!!
Those seeds from Tasha Tudor! How wonderful! I always look forward to your videos. Thank you! 😊
Your seed storage is beautiful. Thank you, for taking us along in the gardening. God bless and keep you. 🌷
Just a lovely video visit to your potting shed ❤
Everything is looking great Miss Jeri! What a wonderful idea for storing your seeds. Thank you for the update on your garden, always look forward to it. Have a good week.
Yeah - i received my Tasha seeds today, Forget me Not, Verbascum, and Mystery Rose - I plan on framing the seed packets, eventually, so included that in the price.
Got a set for my daughter too, she gardens in CT. and has 2 Corgis. Hugs
Let us know how the lupins work out. I planted many different colored lupins years ago and all I have now is purple which reseeds all over the garden. Our neighbors have a whole meadow of different colored lupins - so beautiful. Loved Tasha Tudor my whole life. An amazing woman. Great ideas for seed storage - I too have had mice get into my seeds but I am not a fan of plastic - think I will use canning jars. Thanks for the idea!
I've had pretty good luck with the Lupines from another seed outlet, I'm still waiting on mine to spread themselves around.
I am looking so forward to all of the garden videos! WELCOME SPRING 🌷💐🌹
Good to see u Jeri!
I do have one of ur duck mugs. Its for morning coffee strolls thur the garden. Really enjoy it.
Enjoy ur videos so much.
Thank you for buying the Duck Mug, its my favorite design!
Love your seed storage idea.
So Pretty ❤
Your potting sheds are so Pretty and looking forward to your seed updates.
I did get some of the Vevor Chicken Wire Cloches.
I'm really happy with them.
They came yesterday.
Thank You for the information on them 😊
Have a Wonderful day 💕🌷🐰
I really love those wire cloches, so glad you got a set!

Thank You !
I got the 12 X 20 inch set of 6
They were packed so nicely and shipped fast.
I absolutely adore your seed storage, the transfers are stunning. I am so envious! Everything you own seems to be a work of art as well as a functional item
The vintage images really transform an ordinary piece of furniture, I went a little crazy with them last year.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow They really do, love them
Transfer turned out so nice for seed storage❣️Thank you for sharing 💖✨️🧚♂️
Oh I love Lupines also. Here in NH all you have to do is drive down interstate 93 and you see fields of them growing wild just like they are in that picture in Vermont. I had great luck winter sowing lupines last year because they need cold stratification.
I noticed when I was soaking the Lupine seed, many of them germinated in the water!
Lupines are everywhere here in New Brunswick Canada in the Spring. Gorgeous!
We don't see them much here in our area.
YOU ARE REALLY HAVE FUN WITH YOUR POTTING SHED !! NICE VIDEO !! AND YOUR YARD IS CHEERLEADERING YOUR GREEN THUMB !! ❤😊
This is my Greenhouse, my potting shed is beyond the grass; both are fun places to work in.
Such a wonderful video, Jeri. You always inspire me.
Looking forward to Tasha Tudor’s Lupines. We are so blessed to have her flowers growing in our gardens.
Let's just pray that they grow for us!
You never fail to inspire me, Jeri. And when i listen to your voice, my heart feels happy. Your voice is always so joyful. I, as I'm sure all of your followers, would so love to know you personally but, alas, there is only so much of you to go around! ☺️. I must say, this particular video came at just the right time as now i no longer feel like I potentially need an intervention for my seed obsession. Just yesterday i began to wonder if i should be concerned at the number of seed packets I've accumulated. Seems I'm in the best of company!
Blessings on you and Hopalong Hollow!
🌼🐝🪻🌻🦋🌸🌷🐞
I've promised myself not to purchase any more seeds this year....and to plant most of what I have.
I can’t wait until those Lupine flowers bloom from Tasha Tudor!! How special!!! I would be so nervous to plant them 😂! ❤ Jeri I have loved your videos for years now! You bring me joy in Montana! God Bless
I am nervous, there are so few seeds in the packet. Montana, a great state!
You are very lucky getting seeds from Tasha Tudor‘s garden.
I bought the same book as you have, many years ago in a shop in Sweden. I was very happy with this book and often read again in it.
Her pictures she painted are amazing, the same as yours are.
Best regards from Austria and happy gardening, Helga 🙋♀️🌷🌸🌱🐝🙋♀️🕊️
It's a beautiful book, so glad you were able to get a copy in Europe.
Enjoy your videos so much, look so forward to them❤ you are as interesting as Tasha🥰
That Tasha Tudor package and art work is really nice. 😊
I love your videos Jeri! You are such an Encourager! Neat to know James got a welder. Can't wait to see your completed fence........Continued Blessings!
Oooh I love all the storage ideas! So so pretty, I like pretty too. 😊 I do decorated glass jars and boxes, but that small dresser like storage idea is fantastic as well as beautilful. And those Tasha Tudor seeds, well I hope come out absolutely perfect for you. How exciting to have something from her gorgeous gardens. I'm sad I didn't know about the sale cause I sure would have bought some. Hopefully this was a successful event for them and they will do it again and maybe I will get lucky and be able to order some then. You give me great inspiration lady and that is very much appreciated. Thank you for sharing a bit of your artistic and very intresting adventures with us. 🌷💜
I was told they usually sell out of the seeds within 2 days, I was lucky to get some.
What an adorable kitty and pooch. Good luck with your seeds.
You always inspire me to be more creative in my gardening process! This was very enjoyable, happy sowing❣️
Great seed storage, so pretty! Inspires me every time I watch your videos.
How lovely the seed containers look with the transfers. So exciting. I hope your seeds sprout well. I am soon doing some planting. Mostly I do container gardening at 76 but I still love the soil under my finger nails.😊
I love the seed packet sleeves you made! What a great way put some of my dusty old stamps to good use!😂
Beautiful Spring around your place
Just wanted to add another comment --- i so love watching your videos & your amazing yard.
Gostaria de conhecer vc ver seu rosto ❤ penso como vc deva ser muito maravilhosa ❤ amo seus vídeos ❤️ bjsss de SC Brasil🇧🇷 🏖️😘😘😘😘
Thank you so much!
Wow, Jerri, you lucked out getting Tasha's seeds. When I tried, sold out very quickly. I think within an hour. Love anything Yasha Tudor. I was gifted 2 silicone kitties, one black and one Whitten strainers. Hiw cute of the doggie. lovely. Your seed boxes are so original and lovely.
I ordered my seeds about 10 minutes after they opened the sale, good thing!
I love your style of seed storage!
Hi Jeri ! the seed drawers are pretty ! I never have started from seeds, however I should give it a go. I had to giggle about the screaming sound, I said it had to be my cat she is a screamer my goodness! Have a super weekend Paula
Try out some easy seeds like Zinnia, here is a link to my Zinnia planting post: ruclips.net/video/aZ4aVsm3bvM/видео.html
Thanks so very much !!@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
Thanks Jeri. I get so much inspiration from your videos.
Oh yes, Jeri, foxes! They can be quite vocal. I hope you get to see it! I haven't heard ours in a long time. I miss them, and they helped keep the mice population down. I HAVE heard an owl lately though - what a lovely, solitary and calming sound that is. Happy spring to you! I envy you your beautiful gardens, as I can no longer physically do gardening, but instead I enjoy all of the beautiful trees we planted on our little acre. They've gotten so thick that they've encouraged the wildlife to visit. Thank you once again for a lovely video.
Hi Diane, good to see you. I liked hearing the foxes, it was such a bizarre sound! However, I don't really want them hanging around because they have been responsible for the many disappearances of my ducks over the past 10 years.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Oh yes, and chickens are one of their favorites. I don't blame you. They're best left in the wild, not near our domestic feathered friends!
I've been seed starting for several weeks, but am so disappointed that it's 70°! That's too warm for some of my early spring crops and flower seeds. But am very happy and grateful for the sunshine. I love your storage ideas and how you've added your artistic touch. You even made repurposed jars look beautiful!
I know, it's crazy when you look at the varying temps for germinating seeds. I was on top of my sweet peas, as I did many in January, but they will still germinate in March and April.
Thanks for the idea! ❤
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your seed collection. At first you showed the sewing machine drawers and I was thinking “well that’s really not a lot of seeds “ oh but then you showed us the mother load where you created those cardboard wrappers. Absolutely love it. I fell in love with lupine last year and have sowed a bunch for this year. I’m looking forward to seeing how yours from Tasha‘s garden grows.
Loving those lupine, I planted many last year, and they are starting to look pretty healthy.
Love the little tea kitty. So cute and I love Tasha Tudor stories
I love your beautiful seed boxes with draws they so pretty! I didn’t buy any Tasha Tudor seeds this year as I still have some from last year, they will be lovely! Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Lovely to see you planting your seeds as the new season begins. You have a lot of seeds Jeri! I plant seeds in April and May over here in England because I don't have a greenhouse or many places to put seed boxes. I usually only have room for three or four seed boxes so I plant direct into the soil. Successes last year for me were my white delphiniums. I put those into a high raised bed away from my puppy and under my control with the slugs. I also had lupins and verbascum, but the frost has taken all my verbascum this winter. I may buy some more plants because they are so nice and the bees love them. I have never heard of Tasha Tudor so thank you for telling us about her. I shall look up her children's books too.
Your Delphiniums are a dream of mine, so far no luck, but I'm trying once again. The packet of Verbascum stated that I couldn't plant them until winter, but I luckily found a patch of Mullein, (also in the verbascum family) growing wild in the ditch! I moved them into the garden where I'll plant the Tasha Tudor flowers. Tasha Tudor is sort of our American Beatrix Potter.
You make everything so beautiful ~ I’m so inspired by you ~ how fun
What a great idea for storing seeds, so pretty too! I know what you mean about a foxes scream. I have them living in an old groudhog hole under my garden shed. The first time I heard them scream it made my hair stand up 😊 sounded like a women being attacked in my garden, lol, very scary sound!
It was shocking!
Love the deed packets
Awesome 🇺🇸
Love your videos Jeri !! Much Love & Blessings from Michigan
Thanks!
Oh Jeri! Lupines, well Texas Bluebonnets, love slopes! I've tried several years now to get bluebonnets started with little success. Then, I noticed how often the bluebonnets around the state come back best on the slopes and hillsides along the highways. And their most famous growing location is in the "hill country" in Texas. So, after several years of failure, this past fall I planted a bunch of seed on a slope in my yard and they took! Well, a lot of them did. I'm hoping I get a few blossoms this year, but even if not, we should get quite a few next year. So, I'm going to be sowing bluebonnet seeds all over the slopes on my property! My soil is more alkaline, so I don't know that I'll have much success with other kinds of lupines, but I have some seed, so I might as well try. Verbascum is another I really want to grow. I'm not trying sweet peas this year, but instead I'm going to try growing Butterfly Vine. So we'll see. I don't store my seed in a pretty place. Most of them are in a spare refrigerator in plain plastic bins. It works but it's not nearly so lovely as yours. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas and creations. I'm looking forward to seeing how well your Tasha Tudor seeds do. Thank you!!
Well that's good to know, we have so many slopes and hills around the house! I found a lot of free Mullein ( also in the Verbascum family) growing on my dry slopes and moved it into my garden area.
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
As I'm remodeling the interior of my garden shed I've wanted to keep seeds there in a nice storage system, but I know it will probably not be good for longevity. I see you keep them in the greenhouse, so I may just to it and not worry about the longevity. I need to start using up all seed I get in one year anyways, and maybe just start saving my own. Maybe they can last for 2 years even in a non climate controlled shed.
I keep the storage boxes in my garden room, it's connected to the greenhouse but doesn't get hot at all. I have way too much seed, really need to use it up this year so I am planting seeds EVERYWHERE!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I am looking for this style of garden book. I just tell Jason my wish. I grew Lupins two years ago and love them so much but keep forgetting sowing last year. Will do this year. Thank you 🥰 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Crane, there are several used copies of this book "Tasha Tudors Garden" on Amazon for around $15. I am loving the Lupins, I direct sowed many in February and little babies are coming up everywhere!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Thank you very much 🙏🏻🥰❤️
I will be sure to keep everyone up to date on the Tasha seeds. My Pansy seeds have germinated in large pots, I am happy!

I was hoping you would video from your beautiful greenhouse. My greenhouse is temporarily housing my baby Rouen ducklings!
Oh my god you have such beautiful taste! You need your own line of stuff!
Thanks, I do have a website where I sell my art prints, cards, books and fiber sculpture: www.jerilanders.com
I just found the Tudor family website and they only have 2 seed varieties left. I was sure hoping for some sweet peas or delphiniums. I get what they have now and hope for next year! Keep doing what you do best!
I'm really surprised they had any left at all!
I was too! I’m watching an old video of yours right now!
Have you thought about selling seed from YOUR garden?🤗
I actually have, and I have the seed packet designs ready to go.
Lots of silicone tea infusers on Amazon. I have the same tea from F&M, it’s lovely. I need to get my seeds out of the tote into something pretty, yours are great! I have the Tasha book, her gardens are amazing ❤️
I must have gotten those on Amazon, where else?!!!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I just went to Amazon and typed in silicone animal tea diffusers and a bunch popped up
Jerri, so glad i found your channel! I love your style. I’m sitting here now having a cup of tea out of your birds cup! Beautiful! I’m retired now and have more time to do the things you love!
Where do you find your fingerless gloves? Beautiful!
Welcome!! I find my gloves in many places, Etsy, Ebay and even Amazon.
I just love the little kitty for your tea!!! Where do you get your tea from? Thank you for sharing ❤
The tea can be purchased online from Fortnum and Mason. It's very good.
Love Tasha Tudor books, illustrations and story.
Isn’t it funny how cats always know ~exactly~ where to be to end up right in the middle of what you’re doing to guarantee 100% attention.
💐💕💐💕💐
when you soak your seed to soften them for germination, soak them for about 5min in water and hydrogen peroxide.
Interesting, why the peroxide?
it softens the shell or husk and provides high oxygen. It also kills pathogens but make sure you rinse the seed after.
Another BEAUTIFUL video ! I sowed some Foxglove seed indoors in trays , covering lightly with vermiculite. And set the tray on a heat mat . Then I found out they need light to germinate ! Since I sprinkled them on top of the seed starting mix , and covered only lightly with vermiculite, do you think I should turn my grow lite on to help them germinate ? Is the heat mat ok ? Or should I turn it off ? I so want Foxgloves and haven’t had success with them , despite many tries . ( like you with your past Sweet Peas . But you persevered and now you have wonderful Sweet Peas , so I have hope !! )
Foxglove like the cold. I wouldn't put them on a heat mat, or cover them at all. Experiment with them, I set out a tray of foxgloves last spring, outside on the porch table. Keep them moist, and let them have the natural light. They will grow slowly, but by summers end, you'll be able to transplant into your garden where they will continue to grow throughout the winter. They should bloom the following year.
Your chests are lovely.🥰
I love lupines ! Unfortunately they are blank listed here in Norway 😔. I realt enjoy your Chanel🌸🌺😍
Is that because they spread too much?
Yes Jeri, that is the reason
.@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
Your storage drawers and boxes are beautiful. Can sweet peas be grown in large pots as well?
Oh yes, I sowed them in several large pots last week.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Wonderful! Thank you so much!
Tasha Tudor the author and illustrator????❤❤❤❤
Yes, that Tasha Tudor. Her family has a seed sale once a year with the seed collected from her garden.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I can't tell you how amazing that is!!!
Hi Jeri wondering what your feelings are on Native plants. Have you incorporated any Natives into Hopalong Hollow?
I use several native wildflowers in my gardens; Queen Annes lace, Oxeye Daisy, violets, Betony and Black eyed Susan grow in the fields, so I bring many of them in.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow the very first one you named Queen Anne's Lace is the one I have my eye on. Would like to mix in with fern on the edge of my property in the Piney Woods of N. Michigan. I have read that they may be dug in the spring with success. There is also a stumpery Fairy House there. Can hardly wait for the ew season 🌿
@@vickyskelton3735 Queen Anne's lace gets very tall, they look quite pretty alongside field lilies and goldenrod (also native here)
Jeri do you worry about your livestock eating some of the wrong plants that are toxic to them? I always love your videos. Glad that you are also a cat person too.
Only once did I have a problem. My donkeys got out of their pasture and into my garden where many Foxglove were growing. I saw Ursula (mother donkey) from the window feasting on the leaves. We got the donkeys back in the pasture, but Ursula was sick for a few days.
I’m online and can’t find anything like your vegetable rub on transfers. Where did you get them?
Go to Etsy and look up "Iron Orchid" transfers.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow thank you. You know, I looked on Etsy and could not find anything like them. Needed name so thank you.
How long do seeds last? Do they “expire”?
Seeds do expire, that's why they need to be kept in a cool dry place and packaged tightly. I have planted seeds that were over 3 years old and many Do germinate, but after that, it's a guessing game.
Are they called fingerless gloves?
Yes
Don't seeds have expiration dates after which they won't germinate?
Indeed they do, but I've had 5 yr old seeds germinate for me in the past. But really, the fresher the seed, the better.
Foxes,Bobcats and mountain lions scream very loudly. Sound like a woman being murdered! Love your seed storage!
Fox screams are a bit scary!
It was quite frightening and sounded like a murder was taking place, but I learned it was probably a vixen calling for her mate.
I don’t know… the cat wondering around the garden… just makes me shudder; you know… cat holes. Yuck.
This is a farm, we have a lot of animals wandering around the garden, chickens, ducks, peacocks and geese...oh and dogs too.
