As surely as the snow clears here comes Jeri to warm my heart and soul❤️! I needed the feels of life more than you know this evening! Thank you!🌷😘🌷
Hey Beverly, So good to see you here and happy that the video brought you some cheer!
Yes! Have missed her calm beauty. Best wishes to you The Little Blue Fly, and Jeri.
There’s no season that gives more hope of better days than Spring!
Welcome back Jeri! What a wonderful delight to view you and The Hopalong Hollow Friends again😃
Time flies by and then I realize "Yikes, It's been 3 weeks since I made a video!"
i lost all my seedlings this year to the freeze Texas had. but i'll start over. i was looking through my Country Sampler magazine and saw your America scissor cut picture on this lady's wall. so glad i bought the same one. just got it framed. you do everything so wonderful.
@barnhillnancy51 could you tell me what issue of Country Sampler? Thank you

Sorry for all your plants, how depressing. How nice that you chose America, I hang it in my house as well... and I don't hang a lot of my own work.
I seriously love this channel!!! Im snuggled in my favorite blanket with a hot cup of Harney & Sons Chamomile Tea and watching Jeri!!🤗
I read that you can plant teas, because the seeds are in the tea for chamomile!
My $0.25 seed packets from Dollar Tree have germinated. I commented about them on your video a month ago. I used the bottoms of clear containers upside-down as cover without poking holes though and direct sewed right into the raised bed. My broccoli, spinach and lettuce are all growing. I'll definitely keep using the containers as mini-greenhouses in late winter for those cold loving vegetables. I appreciate your tip so much. Also, Dollar Tree has seed packets for flowers as well. All are made in USA, non-gmo and many heirloom varieties! What a deal at $0.25 per packet for anyone like me who is on a tight budget, but wants a vegetable or flower garden.
Fantastic! The bins really work well.
My first Zinnia patch came from a pack of Dollar Store seeds and have self-seeded for 5 years, it's true, you don't have to spend much money to garden.
We got new windows for our house last year and I made some greenhouses from the old ones with some help from my husband. I made three small ones and one the size of a telephone booth by stacking the windows after making a box. I took two windows, hinged them together to make a roof. Then I bought the gothic fence post finials for feet and one for the top. The all have doors with old hardware. They turned out so darn cute that people stop and ask me where I got them. I like to buy the small packs of plants, put two in a 4” clay pot and stick them in the greenhouse, give them some bloom booster and in a couple weeks I have nice sized plants that would have cost me 6.99 a piece. You can do this even if you don’t have a greenhouse.
How great! You must have your own tools box, like me. Plants are so expensive these days, the little 6 packs are the only deal in town. Good idea for potting them up.
Hi Jeri, thank you for sharing your treasured vintage seed boxes, seed catalogs, seedlings, and planting info. 💕Truly enjoyed another day with you 😊 The tea you shared sound so refreshing as well 🌷 Take care and have a wonderful week 🌼🌷🌸🌺🌻💐🌹
Thank you for all of the gardening tips from all of us beginner gardeners, I love your videos
So good to see you as you poetically greet the spring season with tender regard to the beauty of nature. I love your videos, especially now as I sit and recover from surgery. I cant get out and do much but I can live through you right now and get a bit of my garden inspiration. I have never thought to save the seeds from carnations in bouquets from people. I have several get well flowers..You have inspired me.
We'll see how those Carnation seeds do, it's an experiment, but worth a try. Recover soon!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Thank You Jeri. Western Ky has beautiful weather right now. I cant wait to get out there and get my hands dirty.
So lovely...it brought back memories of me as a little girl sitting at the kitchen tabel with my grandfather ...sharing the love of flowers and watch all the pretty pictures in the books and magazines...making plans for the garden..💛🌼💛 thank you 🌼
Dutchess! I didn't realize you were on RUclips AND Instagram. So happy to see you. I've missed all our blogging friends since everyone went in a different direction. Glad to have contact with you once again,
A wealth of great information and wisdom from one of my favorite gardeners. I'm really enjoying the history lessons. Blessings

Well thank you for that Doreen!
Well put and very true!
Beautiful video, thank you! This is another one I'll be watching over and over. I love old ephemera, and I love old seed packets. I too love the bold colors and vintage graphics. I have a small collection of unused vintage crate labels, particularly the ones from farms in Texas. Makes me think of my great-grandparents. At one time my great-grandfather had "the largest peach orchard in Camp County," according to my 84 year old cousin who knew him personally as a child. He had a "truck farm" on the edge of Brushy Creek, which doesn't exist anymore since they dammed the area and created Lake Bob Sandlin. Though part of his land is now flooded some of his descendants now own lake front property, as I still have cousins living on that land. Anyway, I have my eye on some reproduction catalogue covers or pages which are just gorgeous. I hope to get a garden shed built in the near future and I think they would make a great graphic wall covering or wallpaper, or just hanging as wall art. I wanted to ask you, have you ever grown Erigeron Karvinskianus daisy? Also known as Santa Barbara Daisy, or Mexican Fleabane. I've seen it in videos of English gardens and thought how sweet and airy it looked, more like a wildflower than a stand of daisies, but with whites, yellows and pinks all mixed together. Might be invasive though. I'd be happy for it to invade my property. :) Thanks again for your wonderful and inspirational video. I enjoyed every minute of it.
That's a neat history on your Grandpa, would be nice if you had a crate from his Peach Orchard.
I don't mind invasive plants as long as they are pretty, I will look up that Daisy.
Enjoyed seeing Alfalfa so happy! Thank you for the wealth of knowledge you are sharing with us, so much appreciated 🤗
"Beautiful, Relaxing, Entertaining & HIstorical... Never Long Enough!"
Beautiful video! Enjoyed learning about the seed catalogs.
I’ve been gardening for more decades than I care to admit- but I’m an Uber Fail at starting seeds inside. It’s such a delicate, daunting process in my head. I always direct sow & you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT- Don’t always get what you sow. The birds do eat them, I reckon. Really need to get over myself & start TODAY !!!!
Try something easy in the trays.. I've been amazed at the success of the Pinks and Sweet William. They germinated in the house within 3 days and since they are Perennials, that's a plus.
Everything is beginning to awaken now. I live in NE Alabama, so fairly close to you.
It's nice to visit once again with you Jeri. Thank you for sharing your garden and your knowledge ❤️ with all of us. Post more frequently if possible. Always wait for your videos
Time gets away from me and I realize I haven't made a video in weeks!
When I see that you have a new video out , I make myself wait until later in the day to watch it , simply so I have the delightful anticipation of looking forward to watching it!! Today was no exception.🥰
Wonderful!
Congratulations, Jeri. Looks as if all your babies are doing well.♥️
They are!
It was so interesting to hear about the history of seed catalogues, and those boxes are just beautiful! Your videos always lift my spirits (the weather is quite grey in the uk at the moment!) You have inspired me to start growing some flowers in pots instead of always trying to find room for them in the garden.
It's very handy to have portable gardens!
Enjoyed this video! I love your potager garden and your glass window green house. We have collected several old windows like that i may just make one of those! My grandpa put together a walk in green house for my grandma out of a bunch of old windows, it is the cutest little country garden shed! Love the antique seed boxes too, i keep looking for those out. We often go and make a day of antique shopping! Good to hear from you!
Your grandpa was a sweetie! Hope you find a seed box.
AHAHAHA!!!!! Your sweet peas are up !!!! Hallelujah!!!!!
Yay!!!!! Now if I can just keep them alive.
beautiful video Jeri, been looking forward to your uploads ❤️
Hello Paola, Good to see you here! I'm loving your gorgeous videos though I seldom comment.
Nice surprise to meet your here🌸💗🌸you are both my top beloved fairies ✨🧚♂️ ✨

Made my day, Jeri! Had my morning coffee and watched your wonderful video. Can’t wait to plant some seeds this week! Never grow tired of a new season or a new video from you! Thanks so much!
Thank you for being here!
Hi dearest!!! We’ve missed you!!! So good to see that Hopalong Hollow name again!!!! Looking foreward to your videos!!!!
Hello Jeri, how beautiful and warm you have. It's cold and a lot of snow,we have to wait until spring comes. Thank you for your great videos, which cause only positive emotions and joy.I respect your life experience.
I planted flower seeds yesterday and only in mid-priced will we plant it in the ground.
Tomorrow will be International Women's Day,I want to wish you all the best. Natalia. 🙇 👍 💗
Brrr. I shiver just thinking about it. The nice thing about a cold climate like yours are the plants such as sweet peas and Delphiniums that you can grow easily.
Thank you for all your tips Jerri. Love a beautiful English garden. Your ideas are wonderful! They will be used for garden ideas. God bless you!
Oh how beautiful to see ..
Spring has sprung in Hop Along Hollow 🌿🌞☺️
I started Shasta Daisy on
Jan 29.. in doors ...just about 1” tall now.
Thank you for inspiring me
to start this🌿
Excellent!
Hey Jeri, love your videos! Can you do an update on Alfalfa and your other sweet animals!
I will, he has such a personality and character!
Over the winter my very skilled husband worked on my She Shop. He salvaged some cedar siding from a siding job and carefully sanded off some of the paint exposing the wood then used it to cover the walls in my shop. He then put up all of the old shelf brackets I collected over the years. Yesterday I started moving in and putting up all cool finds from over the years. have a ton of storage and stations for different planting and painting tasks. We employed an old wood burning stove left by the previous owner of our house, a 1920’s stove/oven on tall legs and an old work bench. Its right off the fenced in garden so I can use the space as a harvest and canning room!!! I am beyond excited. His shop is on the other side of the wall from mine so we each have our own rooms where we can create till our hearts content!!!!
I can understand how happy you must be, it sounds perfectly delightful! I'd love to see a picture of your shop when you've got it all together.
As a child on a South Dakota farm, I spent endless hours carefully cutting beautiful pictures from the Gurney's catalogue. Then, if you were lucky, you would get one of my cards I decorated with those lovely floral displays.
They must have been very beautiful cards for those recipients!
Hi Jeri. I'm so happy to have discovered you on RUclips! You are my favorite. I love all of your art endeavors, hobbies, gardens, animals, and the way you make your videos and also your narration of them. Looking forward to each new video. Thanks, from Pennsylvania!
Thank you so much!
So interesting about the seed catalogs, packets and seed trays. And seeing your flowers-to-be!😀🦋🌷🌱
Lovely to see your mini green houses were successful. Looking forward to your video showing the plants growth and final planting into your beautiful garden.
A fascinating and a most interesting video. I love the antique seed boxes and the seed catalogues. I think the seed catalogues from the past are so much nicer to look at than the modern ones.
indeed, the old ones are the best!
Thank you,Jeri , for a beautiful video and show of seed boxes! I hope you will make more!! In Alaska we still have snow and I am not ready to plant..
This is one of my favorite videos of yours, I absolutely love looking at seed packets/catalogs. I love everwilde farms too. Lots of good information
Seeing all your seedlings sure makes me think spring is near!😍 loved seeing all the old seed catalogs too.
Cool !!!!! I didn’t know you could do that with carnations!!!!! Omgoodness- that’s a cool tip !!!!!
I get such joy watching your videos ❣️. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden and all the beauty of Hopalong Hollow.
I love forget me nots. Can’t wait to see yours as they grow.
Spring has come to East Tennessee! Loved seeing all the seedlings!
Interesting about the seeds. God uses seeds in everything doesn't he!? Your donkeys are so sweet! 🥰God bless.🙏💞
Yes, God is the amazing One!
Love those plastic cloches. Where do you purchase them?
I would love to know, too!
Check Amazon or your local farm store, like a Rural King.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow thank you. I found some on Amazon. I love this episode (as I do all of your glorious videos!) and I am just preparing for seed starting here in West Central Indiana.
This is one of my all-time favorite videos. I love, love, love seeing your vintage seed catalogs, boxes, and the history behind them! Anything to do with seeds is so exciting to me ❤️ I have a giant junk journal of seed packets and seed catalog clippings I've been collecting for years. Botanical Interest still has a beautiful old-fashioned-style catalog with nice artwork......your little greenhouse seedlings look great! nice and healthy. Such a beautiful video (again!) great work, I always look forward to them.
I love the idea of having a journal full of garden art.
Something happened today that made me squeal in delight ! I introduced my sister to you and your delightful Hopalong Hollow , and today .... I received your beautiful book “ The Journey of Bushky Bushybottom “ in the mail that she ordered as an early Easter present !!!!! It’s every bit as wonderful as I imagined it would be ! 🥰
That is great, I am very pleased you got the book, It seems like your sister was aware of Hopalong Hollow and You didn't realize it!
Love hearing about the seeds and great various ways to use the seeds!
You always warm my heart......You have a huge gift..actually many gifts....an amazing soul....Thank you so much for Sharing....
You are so welcome
So heartwarming to see CAPTAIN springtimebathing in the pond and to meet your mirror image in cloche (4.59…)
HAHA, yes, that was funny, I didn't plan that.... Captain ALfalfa is cruising down the creek quacking out orders to all his little mates!
Your videos are such a wonderful blessing, I enjoy every detail. I feel like I’m spending time with a wise, trusted friend. ♥️
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much for thinking about beginner gardeners! You inspired me to buy some pellets after watching a few of your videos 🌼
I often feel like a beginner myself, even though I've gardened for over 20 years. There is always more learning to do.
Hello 👋 Jeri you’re so sweet.Excellent lecture .I can’t wait to see your lovely beautiful garden 🦋💙🦋💫
🌸Thank you so much, Jeri, for this fascinating look at keeping and purchasing seeds thruout history. I am a ‘history’ buff of sorts, and a Master Gardener, so I look for books about gardening and all things related to learn more about my passion for planting. I would love to find an old seed box! Enjoy a lovely season everyone! 🪴🌱☘️💚
Hope you find a seed box, they have a lot of meaning to those of us who love to garden.
Thank you for such an informative podcast!🌺🌺🌺
Looking forward to the season to see what took. Love your videos, Jeri. :)
Thanks so much!
Always a pleasure! Love those seed boxes! In all my years of thrifting I've not run across any, maybe someday. I may take one of my Grandfathers old wooden cigar boxes and display my seed packets in it for a touch of spring decor. I had a mini greenhouse similar to yours, it finally weathered away. I've just come in from my flower garden weeding, a beautiful day out 74 today. Happy spring!
It does feel wonderful to have the sunshine on your face, and weeding is a happy chore after a long winter. I didn't know whether to dismantle the old greenhouse or just stabilize it, chose the latter.
You should make a book about gardening with your own illustrations. You have a beautiful voice. It is soothing.
I've been working on a garden book for 3 years now with my own artwork.
Jeri gusto verte bendiciones 🙏🙏🙏 linda tarde
Good afternoon Jeri ,I've missed you . It was also nice to see Captain Alfalfa , he looked like he was enjoying a dip in the water . Spring is right around the corner , Thank the Lord . Its been a long and cold winter here in Arkansas .
I agree Carolyn, planting a garden is "hope for tomorrow". So I am planting more flowers than I have ever done!
You are absolutely charming, and an amazing teacher.. 💕

Another wonderful Hopalong Hollow video. You are so creative and it seems you must have 48 hours a day 😆. My Mother would have loved your videos. She was an avid Gardner and loved seed packets. All your work is greatly appreciated. ❤👍
Thank you so much, I feel like I work 48 hours a day!
Love your garden. So beautiful! You have a wonderful green thumb for growing things. That is so wonderful. I admire you for that! Thank you for sharing and God bless you!
Sometimes I have a brown thumb... but mostly it's green....
Thank you Jerri loved seeing your progress. Fantastic old boxes. I love your little greenhouse x
Can’t wait to see how everything grows for you😊❣️
That's the real test!
Good morning Mrs. Lander's, I've been watching your videos for years now, I love them all. You are a remarkable artist in many categories. My eye has been drawn to all the different but cohesive hardscapes you use. The wattle fencing demo video is inspiring me make one myself. I see your use of old bricks and jealousy comes up, not only the paths, but you use them as edging sometimes and I want to make those too. May I suggest a video section on the mechanics of your garden?
That's an excellent idea for a video, Tina. I think the Garden Bones such as paths, fences and stone walls are pretty important in making a pleasing yard and garden.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Thank you!
Everything looks like it’s growing good ! 💕
Lovely video as always Jeri! Oh your seed boxes are fantastic! I just acquired my second box that I found at an antique shop, I got 20% off and still paid $100 dollars for it! Many are selling for over $500 on eBay now, they must be getting more rare. Can’t wait to see the many flowers that will come from all your plantings, I so enjoy watching you plant it’s very relaxing. Thank you for sharing with us Jeri, take care till next visit! 💕🌷🌱

I saved a packet of the Columbine seed you sent me last year..no luck in the ground last year. The saved pack is going into trays this week.
I hope it will work 😊👍
The first year they have leaves ( most of the time), the second year they have flowers.
Hi Jeri, This is the best video ever! Thanks for all that information and inspiration! The antique seed boxes , packets, and catalogs are so artful and beautiful. They really connect us to the past which I really believe is so important.
I'm going to be looking for some in the antique store in my town. I just love everything you do.
Hope you find a seed box!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow No luck on seed boxes but I've found other things I couldn't resist.
Was always told you can plant your peas in the snow. That means if the sun is warming the daytime and there is a small remnants of snow on your garden you can sow your peas.
I plant mine very early, usually in JAN.
Green and growing things on the cusp of spring! Here in Minneapolis my condo garden has some sprouts of day lilies and hostas. 🥰
Those sprouts are such a little thrill in a gardeners life..
Gracias por compartir 🍀🍀🍀
Really wonderful!
