    As many have commented, this home was full of fine antiques. I hope that you will start checking out antique malls, especially higher end ones, so you can learn and grow. Their prices were very reasonable and the quality was excellent.

    I just found your channel. I like your calm demeanor and respect for old things. You seem like a very nice lady. My suggestion for you would be to go to antique shops and shows and chat with dealers to learn about things. There was so much there that should have jumped out at you, and many things you misnamed. I'm not trying to be snotty like some of the people commenting. You obviously have a love for old things and it's really fun to talk to dealers. They love to talk about their stuff! Sadly, people that love and appreciate old things are getting fewer and fewer.

      I agree!… I would have bought those 3 gone with the wind lamps for around $75 each in a heartbeat.marketplace easily sells them $150+ Omg!! There was a JohnJelliff? chair only $125 …..fostoria glass …and so much more. Those Victorian dressers & washstand are what i love ….not the 1970’s stuff..the wardrobe didn’t interest me. It was 1950’s …the Victorian 3pc. Candelabra set just about had me drooling!! Couldn’t see the price. I wanted to get in my car & go get it. Easily sells for $350+ also saw a glimpse of a tall pier mirror with marble base in kitchen? ….i would have drained my back account at this sale.

    Blue Boy and Pink Lady were so common in the 60's and 70's. For some reason everyone seemed to have them. Mom's were in large gilt, antique frames that were more valuable than the mass produced Gainsborough prints.

    Can’t believe you didn’t git Pink Girl too. Blue Boy and Pink Girl just go together. My grandmother had the pair and then they went to my mother. Finally they flew the coop when my firmer brother gave them away. You need to go back and get Pink Girl. As a child I always thought they would marry someday. And that they lived in France. Just had you in my feed. That Hall's mixing bowl set, I have my mom's, it was given to her be my Aunt for a wedding gift, in 1946. The gold rim on all of them is really worn out, which I absolutely adore. I did take note, those did not have a letter mark, my 3 all have an M on the bottom. I loved the house more than the contents…that’s my favorite era for houses, maybe because my grandparents’ and great-aunt’s houses were built in 1940., and had some of those charming features-but not the bomb shelter. That being said, I’m going to start carrying wipes in case I touch something sticky!

      Thank you for the information Carey! While the Blue Boy and Pinkie prints were indeed a set, I was more drawn to Blue Boy for my shop. There are quite a few Pink Girl prints sold separately on Etsy though if you are interested! I appreciate your insight and thank you so much for watching! 😀

      Thank you for your suggestion Gail! While Pinky and Blue Boy are indeed a set, I was particularly drawn to Blue Boy. Each item has its own unique appeal, and in this case, I was focusing on the individual rather than the set. I appreciate your input though!

    Impressed with your RESPECT for former owner's "collections". So familiar with homes such as this + items accumulated over the years. I too live in a home of that era. Some would describe it as "Charming" .. I just refer to it as "Crowded Chaos". ha
    Always imagine the Happy Meals served on the vintage dishes during Holidays. Oh, that small stool,, that's a 70's era plant stand aka milking stool reproduction. They were popular during the Ethan Allen Country Home Decor era.

      Thank you for your kind words! I believe it's important to honor the legacy of the former owners and the collections they cherished. Living in a home from that era certainly comes with its own unique charm and character, doesn't it? "Crowded chaos" is a perfect way to describe it sometimes! I love the nostalgia of imagining holiday meals served on vintage dishes-it adds such warmth and history to the home. And thanks for the insight on the small stool! It's fascinating how certain pieces carry the essence of past design trends.

    the dining room sideboard was beautiful. i would have looked at that seriously. i have a vintage vanity like the 2 they had in the garage. all restored w/ a round mirror; its one of my favorite pieces.
    im curious why you said u probably will give the basket to ur mom when your putting it for sale in ur store? & blue boy is holding his hat.

    • @loripowell7654
      @loripowell7654 2 месяца назад +1

      The basket was in rough shape. Two or three places where there was big missing / broken off pieces and the wrapping along the edge on the top is missing about 5 inches of wrap. I would have pointed it out to them & offered 10-15 dollars especially if I were to resell in a shop.
