Watching this in November 2024. Sooo wonderful and I am an avid textile, embroiderer and anything with needle arts person. Began watching your lovely videos during Covid. and attempting to see whatever I can when I can. Thank you for sharing your beautiful treasures. Noticed you have some German pieces as well. Thank you. 🌿💐🌿👍💖
Your house reminds me of an old friend of mine’s house in TN…it’s the original farmhouse house in the neighborhood. So much like yours from the wallpaper, original wood floors & framework, doorknobs to the pieces of handmade furniture & antiques to her handmade folk art. She has passed away but before she did she gave me her old school desk which I cherish. I have so many wonderful memories of TN.
Every time I get to look into "This Old House", I feel like any minute Jo March and her sister are going to appear. 🙂 It is so wonderful, so enchanting. Your home makes my heart sing and my soal smile. It radiates so much Love. Have a blessed Christmas and may it be a time of comfort and joy. 💝💖 Huggs from the Schurwald (Schur Forest), Germany. My 120 year old house is eagerly awaiting the festive season. The "Old Lady" has been festively decorated in an old fashion country style with also many antique objects. I just love this way of living. Blessings, Christina. 🎅🤶🌲🌲🫖🍵🍩P.S. One of your old samplers was stitched in german, saying: Gott als Leiter, das Glück zum Begleiter. 🙂 God as a leader, luck as a companion.
Christina, I was hoping someone would translate that for me. Germany has got to be marvelous at Christmas time. I hope you have posted a video with your house at Christmas.... I will go and look!
great video. the house we bought 7 yrs ago was built in 1889 and came with furniture and textiles. I have several of those heavy wool textiles mostly in ornate blue whiteish gray. Im glad to learn more about them. the textiles are in mint conditon.
My wife and I enjoy your videos very much. Your historical knowledge is very appreciated. My wife would like to know where you get your gloves. Love your historical tea parties.

In my Family I am the oldest of my Mother’s children. It would’ve been so lovely to have had an older sister like you. @@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Here and there, Jeri. This house is only a bit less than 50 years old and it has limited wall space - which breaks my heart. But...at least it gives me plenty of windows and beautiful views across the valley. 🥰
Oh, how wonderful and cozy your home is. I’m coming over for tea all the way from Central California 😂🤣. May you have a wonderful Christmas Eve and thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us.
Hi there. Your home should be a virtual museum, your knowledge is so wide ranged, your voice so calming. I feel like Home Sweet Home describes it best. Your home is so warm & inviting. To sip some tea with you would be the coziest time ever, just to sit & listen to you is such a gift in my heart. I'll bet you're an expert in tea's as well. You are the homemaker of all homemakers. I'm looking forward to your cooking of A Dicken's Christmas. I will come in silent, pull my shoes off at the door, find my way to a place to sit & I will enjoy your cooking video. You have a fan here! Thank you so much for such wonderful video.
Love old textiles with quilts at the top of my list. I have a couple of coverlets, both have cartouches that contain the maker' s name, date and the town where they were made. I had two others that I sold quite a few years ago and wish I had kept. I also sold most of my really old samplers, but do have reproductions. I have made several quits and did a lot of embroidery in my day. Like you, my eyes and fingers are not what they used to be, so I find those hobbies to be far less pleasurable now.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful treasures. I am a needle worker and my love is stitching samplers. Since I have discovered your channel you have become my favorite channel. Your video is so relaxing for me when I stitch.
The coverlets are so beautiful!! I was actually sewing while watching/listening and was laughing as I was thinking those sewers from days gone by would be tsk tsking me as I was struggling with what I was making haha (I dont sew that often).
Oh Jeri, I have anticipated this tour of your stunning home filled with antiques, memorabilia, and comforting decor. All the history of fabrics and antiquities fascinate me. You have an amazing knowledge of them all. Which I believe comes from the deep love and reverence you have for history. How wonderful you want to preserve these items for others to see and enjoy also. I have learned so much from you about my own family pieces. I also have learned to appreciate old items in the condition of their use. I have seen many beautiful antique items tossed because of a flaw or missing end or broken button. ( always hoping I can grab it before the trash man) ! I am a quilter and really enjoyed your section on quilts. I don't have a sampler or a coverlet but now I have some knowledge on what to look for. Thanks so much for all this. I can't imagine how much time it took for you to do it. But I could tell your love for all the special items from your sweet voice. Now I must watch your home tour again and picture myself in that glorious old home!! Love from Lin in Michigan 💚😗❤
Sometimes those worn out scraps of coverlet or quilt tell a much bigger story than the ones in perfect condition. They can always be re-purposed as pillows or doll bed covers... I love it.
Hi Jeri. Just want to say how much I am enjoying your textile episode. I made a yo-yo quilt about 20 years ago. A copy of my great grandmas that was sadly lost but I made the quilt and share the story with my kids and grandkids. Quilts are a history of our lives and I think everyone should have one. ❤
I loved this intro! The peacock feathers in the wreath, the birds painted on the cabinet, the wooden swan and the Canada goose on top of the furniture, the giant collection of molds - I could go on and on! Everything is so beautiful! Loved seeing your samplers - especially the crewel piece with the peacock wreathed by what I presume to be sweet peas. The coverlet section was very educational - you introduced me to a new love!
My mother's side of the family were quilters and fortunately I have several quilts hand stitched by some of these talented ladies. The oldest made by my great grandmother. My mother tried to teach me but I think because I am a cross stitcher I couldn't do the running stitch and pick up all the layers in one go. My aunt could do 12 stitches in one inch and was considered a master quilter. Your textile collection is beautiful.
How wonderful that you have those heritage quilts!. I was a pretty good quilter myself and prided myself on my very small stitches. I'll show one of mine at some point.
Thank you for spending so much time with us. We are so lucky for each minute. Enjoy the Holiday season. We enjoy celebrating every season with you❤️❤️❤️😊
What a beautiful collection of antiques you've curated over the years and your knowledge makes them all the more precious. As a lifelong textile lover, I appreciate every little bit! Merry Christmss Jeri ❤
Your video was so interesting. I've learned new and interesting things. Thank you for sharing your collections with us. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
Once again, thank you for your lovely video. Thank you on the tips to purchase and care of the different textiles. Your kitty has stories to tell too. Thank you kitty. When in college, had a textile class, got to go behind the scenes storage rooms of both Cleveland Art Muesum and Stan Hywet Hall. We were shown a few carefully wrapped textiles in tissued boxes, handled with white gloved hands. So lovely! I'll look for seed cotton in the batting when I shop. I too collect samples, and of course not antique, but, still lovely. Looking forward to your next video.
Im 47 years old and I have a cedar chest that is full of quilts that my great grandmother made back when she made it here from Germany and until she passed away in the early eighties. The cedar chest was filled with so many things that I have kept and the quilts are kept in special bags for protection. I have a few of them displayed but im so protective of them. There was evwn an Elf in the cedar chest that looks like the ones today that are called "elf on the shelf", he is so old and faded but he is on display during Christmas. Oh, the stories that the cedar chest tell me. A Bible from the 1800s and so much more. Sorry for carrying on with my nonsense, I just love and appreciate things like this, and like you do, it's nice to see others who so as well and I get a little carried away telling about such items. ❤️ P.S. the quilts I have also have the very same cotton inside them, the seeds and all. What a history lesson.
You really do have a Treasure Chest! How very marvelous to have such wonderful heirlooms . Its good that you are so careful in preserving them, and also that you are able to display a few as well.
This is a wonderful video . I’m excited to think about a Charles Dickens Christmas brunch idea ! I’m a huge fan of Charles Dickens . Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us !
Wow Jeri what a feast. Luv your house which has the olde world charm about it and the decorations and yr collection which compliments it. Wishing u and yr dear husband a very Merry Christmas and may the good Lord Bless u both.
Merry Christmas, Jeri. You have such a calming presence. I appreciate the care you take in all that you do. Your music selections always are in perfect harmony with the peacefulness that exudes from every video you create. God bless you always.
Thank you Jeri!!! Your house and your lovely lovely things are so comforting. I also loved looking out the glimpses of your windows. I love outdoors, even in winter. In times of stress thank you for this peacefulness..... as our ancient book says, "Whatsoever things are lovely....think on these things."
So cozy, warm and peaceful🌲🌲. Your home is a reflection of the beautiful person you are. Samplers and textiles are a passion of mine too and though I have lots of them, I don’t think only but a very few are antiques. I simply love them and someday they will be an antique for my granddaughter. Wishes for a very merry Christmas from our home in upstate New York to yours♥️🌲♥️ Debby
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow my granddaughter, Hailey is 16, my only granddaughter. I have a 19 year old grandson, Dominick. Ironically neither of my adult kids have any interest in my very primitive style and treasures that I love but my two grandkids both love all of it. They often bring their friends to show them Nonna’s house and say it’s the coziest home in the world. That makes my heart so happy♥️
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for another wonderful video. I live on the west coast but have family that lives in TN. I did some antique store shopping when I visited. My oh my. Nothing like what we have where I live. More history out there with an appreciation for it, I think. My suit case was not big enough!
I so enjoy your collections and would feel comfortable and cozy in your home! Next time you're in the Shelbyville, KY please take a hour to visit Wakefield-Scearce Gallery. Oh Jerry I’m laid up with a bad cold myself it’s the price you pay when you get with family and friends around the holidays I guess but it’s so worth it I so enjoyed this. It makes me look at things differently that has been handed down to me or that I see in my relatives homes, your home is absolutely lovely. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us. I look forward to seeing your next videos as I do all of your videos merry Christmas, and God bless us all.
I just love all your videos . Im taken back in time and it makes me feel like well some sort of kinda special way. Thank you and in Jesus name feel better.
Merry Christmas Jeri! I am a quilter, though these days not as much, but still have my love of quilts, I have really old ones, old ones and new ones. Some inherited, some bought, and some made myself. I absolutely love all forms of textiles. Thank you for the lessons.
I have a quilt top mad by my grandmother, and a few other antiques, but nothing really remarkable. The prettiest quilts i own are the new ones on the beds
Dearest Jeri, That 1840/1940 blue coverlet is so beautiful and special, but I see Stella preferred another one.😂 Your wonderful wealth of knowledge about everything historical and antiquated always amaze me. I loved the textiles you showed us and I hope you will definitely get to complete that sampler soon … Get well 🙏🏻🤗💐.
I really enjoyed the videos about Christmas! I love antique textiles. I own 3 coverlets that I treasure! Yours are so pretty. I also quilted by hand for quite a few years. Now I truly enjoy creating cross stitch samplers! My hands got too tired for quilting as I did it by hand. Thank you so much for sharing your treasures.
Enjoyed your video so much!! Your home is so beautiful, warm and full of treasures. I am a quilter and a needleworker and I know how much work and time that goes into each one. Your coverlets are beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
We all know John Masefield’s book “A Box of Delights”, but your video shows a home of delights. How beautiful and welcoming it is, and what a treat to be walked through by someone who loves and cherishes it. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you and your family, may you also have a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
I loved the tour and learned a few things about samplers. I quilt and do a few wool projects and collect some older textiles/sewing notions but I've always stayed clear of samplers because I couldn't really determine value or age. Didn't realize that most of them now days are reproductions. Hope you'll finish your smaller this winter because it will be so lovely with all the animals on it. I love your green shelf with all the rabbits and friends on it!
The really old samplers are so fragile, they belong in a museum. Besides the fact that they are completely unaffordable; I'm so grateful for the reproductions.
thank you for sharing.
I love the old man in the moon ornament and always the rabbit.
I used to make those and sell them at my art shows, the moon man

Oh, the stories that the cedar chest tell me. A Bible from the 1800s and so much more. Sorry for carrying on with my nonsense, I just love and appreciate things like this, and like you do, it's nice to see others who so as well and I get a little carried away telling about such items. ❤️ P.S. the quilts I have also have the very same cotton inside them, the seeds and all. What a history lesson.
You really do have a Treasure Chest! How very marvelous to have such wonderful heirlooms . Its good that you are so careful in preserving them, and also that you are able to display a few as well.
Thank you for that, Jeri. I hope you a blessed and beautiful Christmas. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄💚❤️@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow
Looking for the music is one of my favorite parts in creating videos.
One of my favorite Bible passages.
Merry Christmas from England and thank you for your delightful videos throughout the year.
Wishes for a very merry Christmas from our home in upstate New York to yours♥️🌲♥️
Debby
Wish I had a grand daughter to pass them on to.
Thank you Jeri. I would love to see the finished sampler. Have a wonderful Christmas, may God bless you and yours xx
WE do have some great antiques here in the south.
I so enjoy your collections and would feel comfortable and cozy in your home! Next time you're in the Shelbyville, KY please take a hour to visit Wakefield-Scearce Gallery. It is filled with beautiful antique samplers and incredible art. Shelbyville has some wonderful antique and unique shops, and a few restaurants all on the two main streets.
I would love that!
What a treat this video is! Your home is beautiful with that homey touch. Loved it all! Merry Christmas!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful collection of textiles. I love needle work and appreciate the time and effort that goes into these beautiful pieces. Merry Christmas and God bless you and yours.
That is so nice!
I do feel better today, thank you Jesus.
Dearest Jeri,
That 1840/1940 blue coverlet is so beautiful and special, but I see Stella preferred another one.😂 Your wonderful wealth of knowledge about everything historical and antiquated always amaze me. I loved the textiles you showed us and I hope you will definitely get to complete that sampler soon … Get well 🙏🏻🤗💐.
Elmiri, Stella has really good taste... or maybe she just likes to annoy me. i just love her!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow …or it could be a case of both…the little rascal.🐈
You have given us all a year of beautiful and relaxing videos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward to next year's videos
Que maravillosos Quilts y Sampler.... Jeri que tengas una feliz Navidad.. Gracias por compartir tus vídeos los disfruto mucho
Feliz Navidad !
Needle workers are kindred spirits.
Your close up camera work was excellent! So many beautiful examples in your collections. I loved the tour & your narration.
Seasons Greetings to you.🕊
We all know John Masefield’s book “A Box of Delights”, but your video shows a home of delights. How beautiful and welcoming it is, and what a treat to be walked through by someone who loves and cherishes it. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you and your family, may you also have a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
Merry Christmas Jeri! I’ve done crewel work in the past, would take me almost a year to complete my projects. I hope someone cherishes them.
I never tried crewelwork, but it's so beautiful.
That 1840/1940 coverlet you showed was absolutely beautiful!! You have some very nice textiles! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
What a lovely home you have! Thank you for sharing all your amazing treasures. It was pure delight.
