My mother sewed all her quilts by hand beautiful on both sides. We had her sign it,it took her 1 year queen size. I flip it over to cream side in spring. I love your quilts.😊
I have very much enjoyed tonight's video; thank you. I sat down to watch you while sewing the binding to the back of a quilt I am making for a charity fundraiser, so the topic was most apt. Some of the fabric in this quilt has been gifted, and some has come from charity shop hauls.
Thanks for sharing and supporting animals. They are beautiful. It reminds me of watching my grandmother and aunt make quilts for our families. I still have a couple. I do use them and have worn some out. 🐕🦺🐈🐕🐈⬛🐕🐈🐕🦺🐈⬛🐕🦺🐈🐕🐈⬛
Always love your quilting videos because your materials are always very affordable and I’m not so good I want to spend a couple of hundred on materials - one day perhaps but def not now.
The kittens are adorable. We have 5 rescue cats. 2 in the house and 3 outside on the farm. They have heated beds , food and veterinary care. We take good care of them.
That quilt is gorgeous and would be a beautiful family heirloom. Reminded me of my great grandmother’s Welsh blankets which I will inherit one day. I can’t believe it will go so cheaply - is there a way to open up the silent auction to your RUclips community? Just to make more money for the lovely charity x
@@helenwilkins4337 no, as I'm not personally a registered charity, nor do I have the paper work to export. The quilt has to be collected in person from the charity
Gorgeous quilt! Wish I were there to buy a ticket! Thx for the charity haul visit also. The pictures of the cats were so cute. Will certainly visit some of those charity shops next time I am in France. Looks like a treasure hunt which I love!
I am so glad seeing all of these! My love for animals, my love for hand made, my love for thrifty and my love for you, makes me smile. Love yoy for doing this!! ❤❤❤
Beautiful quilt! I've quilted off and on all my life. I could never afford a quilting machine ,but did "quilt as you go" and hand quilted with a round frame. I collected quilt patterns and then realized I would never live long enough to make them all! Hand quilting takes a long time.
Lovely work Jane. I am a quilter and have just retired so I will finally have time to indulge myself. I was wondering if you have ever made bowl cosies, they would be something quick to sell on your craft stall and very useful in the winter . You can see them on RUclips. I've strip pieced some as well as whole pieces. Also pieces placements are lovely too. Just a thought for the small bits in your stash
❤ Fabulous quilt. You make such beautiful quilts and waste nothing. I am lucky enough to have a quilt that my great grandmother hand made for my mother. I also have a 100% sheep’s wool Batting that my great grandmother made for my mother. My sister and I encased it and tied it for my mother.Twin sized and it weighs a ton. I wish you luck at the raffle and the sale.
Ive come to really love your channel. Im 67 year old retired woman who wants to live much more frugally. I don't drive or have a car . But i do live in a very walkable city with good public transportation. I love your quilt. Its gorgeous. I know how to knit and crochet. Thanks for your lovely videos.
That's one of my favorite quilts you have shared with us. It's colorful, creative, and goes to help an excellent cause. Well done, Jane! On another note, I was tempted to get a puppy yesterday, but now isn't the best time to do so. Instead, I will admire from afar - especially the lovely Dolly and Mary. Woofs to the girls! ❤🐾❤🐾
I enjoy all of your videos, but I especially like the quilting ones. I sew, albeit infrequently, and I think you are such an artist with the way you put fabric patterns and colors together to produce something beautiful. I also like that you do this for charity fundraising purposes.
That pillow cover in grey paisley is so lovely. Question for you are the sheets only good for backing of quilts or can they be cut up for the actual quilt top? Those older linens are such better quality than what is available now unless of course u r ready to pay a lot of $$$ .
@@CreamPuff-ek8fd they can but the fabric has lost its integrity, it's stretched and difficult to keep square or sew straight. They're ok if they're new or have never been used
Dear Jane, thank you for sharing. Your quilting vidéo are my favorite. This quilt is very beautiful. Thank you for what you are doing for these animals in need.
Mike is spot on, it's magnificent!! I dabble a bit in quilting using up leftover fabrics gifted from my mum. I'm currently making an EPP hexie quilt all hand sewn and a crazy patchwork rainbow coloured quilt that's machine sewn. Both are still packed away in boxes from the move but once I get my spare bedroom/craft room sorted out I'll be back stitching 🙂
Love the quilt! My grandmother from North Carolina USA was a wonderful quilter who left me her cut pieces. I quilted for years by hand but now have to machine piece and quilt. What type and weight of batting do you use?
Jane,Love you're quillt 😍. Hope it brings a Lot for the animals in need 🙏. Thank you for the explanations and the inspiration.right now I am making a sleeping bag for my First Grand child. With fabric from Acufactum( It's called ''weidegluck).(Normally I buy too secondhand). Greetings from belgium.
Beautiful quilt! 💗 Enjoy your videos. Your quilting in a week puts me to shame. I have two that I have worked on for four or five years. I really need to get back at it. ❤
Coming on an hour later. Assuming it has something to do with US daylight savings time which we don’t have till next week end, so I’m a bit confused 🤷🏽♀️.
