      But if they are the same price and you can get gcam for oneplus wouldn’t you rather have the better specs? Plus oxygen OS is probably better than vanilla android. Personal opinion but I’d rather have the better specs going forward than less specs. While the pixel 5 is fine today just like the the pixel 3a was fine when it came out, will it be fine a year or two from now? The argument for mid range is the price, they are still charging almost flagship prices without a proper processor 🤷‍♂️

    I think that the Pixel 4a 5G is being slept on. Many reviewers are reporting that it has better haptics AND dual speakers than the 5 (for $200 less). So I differ that the Pixel 5 is premium just for the feel in the hand. It lacks not only specs, but some aspects that might not be the best in the long term for an "enthusiast". Maybe for Austin it's not the case but he has a secondary device as an iPhone, that's why he's fine buying a $700 phone with many compromises. He uses 2. 😂

    • @GrahamTriggsUK
      @GrahamTriggsUK 4 года назад +1

      I agree there isn't much to choose between the 4A 5G. The 5 does have the advantage of being available a month earlier, as well as wireless charging and water resistance rating. But when both handsets are readily available, unless you specifically need the few extras in the 5, then the 4A 5G is the smart process.
      As for "enthusiast" - that may well be the case. But there are an awful lot of people out there who just want a good, affordable phone. Spam protection in the dialer, assistant waiting on hold, transcriptions, shortcut access to Pay, etc. - these are all useful features for the majority of the market, and it's good to see them available on phones positioned for that market, and not just the preserve of those willing to pay for the highest (and in many cases unnecessary) specs.

Nobody needs a *POWERFUL CORE I9/RYZEN THREADRIPPER PROCESSOR ON YOUR PHONE* . Maybe if you can get the Nord in your region for super cheap that makes sense but the higher end phones just can't compete anymore. The S20 FE killed all higher end phones and the new Pixel line is taking care of the budget and stock Android crowd. The best part of the pixel is you get no random phone call when I put my SIM chip in I couldn't believe how silent my phone stayed

    I just put a clear case with glass screen protector by default on my phone. It begins me joy when the company provides it in the box. One plus 7 pro user 8 ram 256 gig. Phones need to have warp charge by default. Charging your phone to 0-100 in under 1 hour is crazy.

    I think what's great about the pixel 5 is that the specs are so all around perfect you got a pretty decent chip for everyone you got a pretty decent screen size for everyone you got a pretty decent amount of RAM for everyone and you got a pretty decent amount of battery for everyone like it's just an all-around solid phone.

    This could be compared to the regular s20 5g. Bought the s20 5g during Amazon prime day. It was 750 unlocked, US spec.

    I just got myself the Pixel 5 coming from a Pixel 2 XL. When my 2 died on me, I had a tough time deciding if the 5 was a good enough phone as a daily driver. I watched so many reviewers talked about how the midrange SD wasn't great and how bad the speakers were, etc etc. I'm a Pixel user and had trouble believing that the 5 was going to be good enough for me. Fortunately I decided to remain true and pulled the trigger on the 5. After just 24 hours of use, I was astounded at how good this phone is. It was everything my 2 was to me and MORE! The exceptional feel of the size of the phone in the hand (same screen real estate as the 2) only a tad bit smaller due to the shrunken bezels. That slight size difference made a ton of difference in the hand to the point the 5 is what I would consider a one-handed phone. Absolutely love this phone and I firmly believe the folks at Google made the sensible choices here.

    For me this direction makes more sense for Google. It goes back to the Nexus program days where Google releases a device to showcase the software. A capable device with some compromises and the best pure Android experience on the market. The difference now being Pixels have marketing and carrier support where the Nexus was aimed at enthusiasts. I like this direction and hope they stay with it.

    Lack of expandable storage is such a bad idea for a flagship, as a vlogger i need 256gb Minimum, i film everything in 4k30fps, use MP3s and love mobile gaming so storage gets taken up so fast

    Software is the most important facet of a phone for me. And Google's Android for the Pixel is hands down the best way to experience Android. Nobody offers an experience that's so simple and just works like Google's. A phone that's actually smart and has almost everything the way you want it out of the box.

    Because 5G has not rolled out to so many countries including India, Google has not even considered launching pixel 4A 5G and pixel 5 in India altogether! If it had been available in India, I would have bought it right away. Would not even look at other competitors.

    My Pixel 5 arrives TODAY, can't wait. But I'm honestly still happy with my Pixel 2 that I'm using right now. Im stoked to have my hair blown back when I try the new Pixel that is 3 generations above what I currently have!

    I haven't had the pleasure of touching one yet, but the description of the back texture sounds exactly like powder coating. a lot of more expensive travel mugs use it.

    Definitely been my experience with the Pixel 5, I just use it and I'm like this is great, it's just so balanced and has everything I expect out of a smartphone.
