Fun fact the motorized scooter has been around with the first known being sold in 1913 and think it was called an Autoped. Similarly the idea of a two design of a segway has been around for a while with the earliest known being in somewhere in the 1920s where Buster Keaton used an oversized version that is clearly made of several car parts together, and by the looks unpowered

Matt is right about motorized scooters, the first mass produced one was called the Autoped and was released in 1915. It has its conceptual origins in the 19th century, as do many technologies that have only become more widely available lately. For another example, there were electric cars as early as 1890 (and possibility earlier, but the one designed by William Morrison gets credit as being the first “successful” one.)

I worked for about a year at an old HP complex on Stevens. Creek and Lawrence Expressway. On when I was there it was rebranded at “Agilent Technologies” basically their tests and measurements arm. I worked for the Wi-Fi Alliance doing compliance testing. I literally worked right next to a team of scientists who were making atomic clocks to go into spaceships for NASA.
