Yup. Older I get the less I look into specs. There's really no noticable difference in real world use and optimized software is much more important. Nowadays I like a slightly smaller display (went from 7 Pro to iPhone 11 Pro) and battery/camera/software are my top preferences.

@@MrCommentor2 i just got my pixel 5. I upgraded from my pixel 2xl as well and yes the speakers are a bit on the 'tinny' side. @@MrCommentor2 speakers are nowhere near as good as the 2XL - if you can get over this and the smaller size, it feels like literally everything else is superior
People these days are always about high specs, better camera, better processor and so much ram when all of that literally doesn’t actually matter. I’m liking how the pixel is now keeping it simple allowing you to have a good experience without having to go all out on the specs and be top of the line on everything. People don’t need that, what they need is a good experience and that’s what the pixel provides.
I'm genuinely considering going from an s20 plus to the pixel 5 despite the s20 having better specs. A few of my friends have pixel phones and they love them
Many people care more about the phone spec than the actual user experience, which is unfortunate. Google has optimized the Pixel software so well that you don't ever feel the need to get a faster phone.

I switched "back" from a Flip 3 to the Pixel 5. It kind of feels similarly small (super thin and lighter) with a better battery and just a smoother experience. The battery of the Flip 3 it was so annoyingly small that I had to throttle the 888 at 70%. The camera is better and no bloatware. I honestly think this is the perfect camera for me. The 6 is too big and flashy for me idk. The 5 is just doing things the way I expected

Any thoughts on the philosophy of Google's approach to a seemingly "mid-range flagship" this year; has the vision changed, has sight of the goal been lost, or have we changed along with the industry over the last couple years? Like the choice in using the same sensor when a lot of other phones are within subjective spitting distance of photo quality by focusing on both hardware and software (are any other phones fire and forget for photos?).

Most people are using their camera to take stupid selfies or stupid pics of their friends when they go out. All this camera stuff is so overblown
The problem about every reviewer saying 765g doesn't make a noticeable difference is because they only test it for a few days, 800 series phones can be used for much longer with less lag, you cannot say the same about 700 series. They won't last that long with same consistent performance.

Been watching you since way back. Haven’t been keeping up with phones recently but happy to see you over a million subscribers. Congrats!! You deserve it without a doubt. Keep producing your high quality videos 🙏
Magical and flowing voice ❤️
I switched "back" from a Flip 3 to the Pixel 5. It kind of feels similarly small (super thin and lighter) with a better battery and just a smoother experience. The battery of the Flip 3 it was so annoyingly small that I had to throttle the 888 at 70%. The camera is better and no bloatware. I honestly think this is the perfect camera for me. The 6 is too big and flashy for me idk. The 5 is just doing things the way I expected
Oh yeah omg the matte material is so nice; I feel comfortable having it without a case. The speakers are awful but okay mostly I have Bluetooth headphones
Everyone's talking about the Pixel 5, LG Wing, Fold 2, iPhone 12...
...and I'm here with my BlackBerry
Need a Priv 2 😁
“ Greasy unapologetic plastic of the iPhone 5C” 🤣 that reference term will live forever , nice one ! Great vid btw as always !
It’s petty decent, but it’s got a lot of competition in this price range.
@Javan Cook so y’all think pixel 4a or 4a 5g the way?
@Player so u think 4a or 4a 5g?
@@johnny_boi7554 imo google does best at mid to low buget .... they dont requier high specs
*Galaxy A71 5G*
@Javan Cook The 4a 5G doesn't have mmWave radio thats why it costs way less. If the 5 doesn't have one it would be priced at $599 USD like what they are now outside America.
Just 2 minutes in his video I’ve already liked and subscribed ❤❤ great guy
Great vid, Mr. Mobile!😀😀
Always rewatching Mr Mobile’s reviews. They’re that good.
Well it isn't for sale in A LOT of countries so that's a BIG reservation.
the amount of effort put into this is much appreciated
4:06 i thought i got a steam message from that sound effect in the background lmao
I just picked mine up yesterday, absolutely incredible easy to navigate device. My only problem is that the ear piece (being hidden) is a little quite whilst taking a phone call compared to previous devices. Any body else have that? Other than that I would HIGHLY recommend!
Thanks for detailed review. I’m still leaning on buying the 4a 5g (because if the pricing )
That's a very good idea as the main difference between them is just 90hz
I mean you could always get the Samsung s20 fe for the same price
@@meric12131415 I have to check it out then. In Canada it’s always more expensive
@@psr076 it really depends on what you are looking for. If you care only about performance go fe. If you care about software and cameras, google is the way to go. Battery is great on both so you would also have to take into account the phone size, if that matters to you
@@psr076 ain't that the truth 🤣
I made that wallpaper for my nexus 5 back in 2014. It's nice to see it some how got to Mr Mobile!
Where can i get the same wallpaper? It looks awesome
Great review as always! There's a charm to your reviews that sets it apart from the rest. 1mil+ subscribers truly well earned.
Mr Mobile is the best voice on you tube ! Your reviews are just brilliant .
The notification is just a tickle away - Michael Fisher 2020
Finger tickle
Michael I love your videos and you have this extra touch that makes me feel very happy when watching your videos. Can wait for the next episodes of future past phones!
Just woke up now from sleep , yeah ! It's Michael's review ❤️
I just purchased the 5 after a few years of carrying the original pixel xl.
I absolutely loved that phone.
The battery was its only drawback for me.
I actually tried to have the battery replaced but all the phone shops around me kept telling me it was hard to get the battery I don't understand that.
so here I am today with the five pleased with the little nuances but still longing for my pixel XL.
MrMobile can be the MC one of Stark Industries event while Tony Stark is in action with Avengers, and no one will notice that
It's not just what you say, but how you say(performative), that keeps us hooked and craving for more! Love your videos and they bring a different perspective to the otherwise "to-the-point" tech videos. Can't wait for your iPhone 12 review!
Love the blink and you'll miss it Seaquest nod, along with Enterprise.
Beneath the surface ... lies the future!
@@TheMrMobile The UEO, just like the UN, but wet.
I miss the wide angle selfie! Bring it back
Is the back metal or plastic? I thought it was metal covered in a plastic coating but that would affect the wireless charging no?
2:27
Yaa its actually metal covered in plastic and there is a hole in between the layer for wireless charging.
@@TheMrMobile oh my bad lol "streched over and aluminum frame". I should pay better attention. Great review btw! Always a treat to watch.
Please don't stop doing tech reviews. I know that sounds silly, but... Honestly, these videos are great on so many levels that I can no longer imagine not having them in my recommendations. I'm sticking with my Note 10+ this year because it's just too early for 5G outside of New York, LA, or Chicago, but I know a lot of people who are in the market for a new phone. This, looks like something I can recommend.
Still waiting for that "S20 FE" review.
Your not a weirdo lol. Because of you and your into the fold series I pre ordered the z fold 2. I came from iPhone 11 pro and ill never go back to a boring slab of glass again. Thank you for the series!!!
Just cant make up my mind on this or the s20 FE.
Pixel if you care about updates. No other reason. If you don't care then Fe
@@VKDante see, I'm worried the FE will get to Android 12, then they'll drop it. Technically they gave you 3 years of android updates, but they're starting an update behind already. It ships with android 10, and I know Samsung.
I m using pixel 2XL.. nd it is still working like a charm... So pixels are long lasting... Nd I love stock Android... Try pixel once u will love it...
@@Thefirespirit1 Yeah that's exactly why i'd have trouble buying Samsung too.
@@Thefirespirit1 Except Samsung tends to be one Android version ahead of Google anyway. Samsung's Android 12 will pretty much be Google's Android 13.
You sir standout so much from other tech reviewers. Always a joy to watch your videos!
The frame is metal with plastic coating
Watched this on my Pixel 2 XL...I'll pre order it.
Google seems to never listen; Mr. Who's the boss and Mr. Mobile have highlighted so much but Google ain't gonna do anything,,,
Dang. Watching to your videos is always a pleasure. There's always something else! All about those little things! Keep it up!
Thank you. I was waiting for this video. “You are also a weirdo”? 😂
why does anybody wants a ultrawide lense? i love telephoto or macro. what should i do with a ultrawide?
I've seriously considered trading my S20 Ultra in for this, and at first only because it has symmetrical bezels 😭
Don't do it, if you watched his review for the note ultra, it has just about caught up to it. For the camera dept
Why would you get a phone thats half the price because the bezels are different?
lol c'mon now the S20 Ultra is just a way more capable phone in terms of hardware...
One hand use man, one hand.
Great review! Are the haptics still excellent?
Nexus 5 was peak google phones, change my mind.
That's a good one, but I think for me it was the 6p
If it is past noon, you can't respond to this comment, as your battery is already dead (says the person that still has a Nexus 5 in my drawer, and loved it for so many reasons, except the horrible battery). I am quite excited about the 4080 mAh battery in the Pixel 5!
I hoping some day that one reviewer on youtube will focus on comparing a number of Android phones at the same time on a given task. Example having enjoyed the ability to have a one button screen shot on my Pixel3 until recently removed due to the last November upgrade... I realise that my next phone purchase will very much be interested in that feature being available and so hopefully a review will be done showing which android phone has the best one button screen shot!!
Trading in my Galaxy S10 for this beauty. Never use samsung again
u did!? how is ur experience i am considering also same change
@@kamilaw.2126 I had problems with overheating. Not just recovering 4k video but simply listening to podcasts it got really hot. Also didn't like that you couldn't move 2 widgets from the home screen, just annoying. I went with the Iphone 12 pro, my first ever iphone and so far it's been ok. Bit of a learning curve after so long using only android
ok thanks so better not going for this one, will need to look for other phone than with good camera
Mr Fisher can convince literally anyone to buy anything that has literally any features. Great job at the video
0:16 Robert Downey Jr. vibe
I wish google would just go all out and put the best of the best in a phone. I would switch in a heartbeat... I've always wanted a pixel... But they started to go downhill compared to others
I bought the S20 FE for the hardware... after just over 2 weeks, I'm over Samsung software. I'm just not feeling it.
I pre-ordered the Pixel 5 and can't wait to compare .
Awesome video as always! You really are my favourite RUclipsr, thank you!!!
B.t.w where did you buy your mask? It's looking amazing
Why does this guy remind me of Robert Downey Jr?
Just sending a big thanks. I just switched from iOS (iPhoneXS) to Android and this is the device that allowed me to do it. I bought it based on this review. And it doesn't disappoint. In fact, I'm absolutely gushing for this thing. Your review was absolutely spot on. Now the Apple Watch S4 also has to go for the TicWatch Pro 3.. Keep up the great work you are the best at what you do and the most entertaining to watch. And thanks again for freeing me from the Cupertino Mafia.
How are you liking your Pixel 5? Do you still have it?
I understand that there’s ‘phone nerds’ that love to look at specs, but how many average users really care about all the camera stuff like the exact percentages of width or whatever.
They won't last that long with same consistent performance.
yeah... they dont even try to game intensively or even try to render videos.
"The lack of any intrusive manufacturer software"
*Literally comes with an assortment of google apps and services*
Yes, i'm being a smartass, i know, but there ARE people who would prefer not to have google apps preinstalled, even if Google Play is the safest app store on Android
hmmm
This! There is a growing movement of people who no longer want to be Googles products and im one of them! Although ironically I am typing this on youtube...
I agree 💯, some of the google apps I prefer not to have preinstalled on my 2XL simply because I don't use them.
Love your videos. Great quality.
MrMobile, your reviews always sound so sophisticated. thank you so much.
You Mr. Mobile are the best!
