Love the (dry) double rainbow reference 😂 I’m thinking of doing the same thing to our old Coleman popup this fall. Desert Tan, probably, as we’re in AZ. Thanks for the video, the caulking tip was especially helpful 🙏
We will be painting our 1979 pop up this spring/summer. Her maiden voyage after her makeover will be Custer State Park in SD! I can’t wait to make it a beautiful, functional camper. Pop ups are so worth it!
Love the restore, great color choice. I think if you painted you BLUE Canvas Strip with the Same Color Green it would really make it Pop (No Pun Intended 😏)... Acrylic Paint with a Water mixture makes great canvas paint, flexible and durable... but who cares what I think lol you did a great job 🤟🇨🇦
I really have a starcraft and I love the space in it the wood is a light wood I'm just crazy about it had to give $1,500 I think it's a 2000 and I'm not for sure about them but it's in the 2000s but I made it beautiful
Wow I love this, love that color. My pop outs on my Coleman are forrest green where yours is blue. I was thinking about painting it today and what color I’d chose that would look good with the green and I think I found it. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. When you painted the final coat did you use a roller, brush or a spray gun? Nice job and excellent video on explaining what you've done.
I'm in the process of reno'ing a Jayco pickup pop-up camper so this is very helpful. 2 questions: 1) What brand & type of paint did you use? 2) What color was it? Looks like 2 different colors. 😁😁 Looks great
I am currently painting an aluminum Starcraft (93) --- do the marks from the old decals show through the new paint or do they disappear as you prime & paint???
If they are at all raised, I'm pretty sure they would show through. Using the heat gun, and something like goo-gone, I made sure all traces of the sticker were gone.
@@CampBoulder the problem is, the paint below the decals is "newer because it was covered" -- all glue & decals came off easily - will try some airplane stripper where the decals were & see if that helps - I can see the ghosting of the decals through primer --- will also try a second coat of primer... it's a 93 so the paint is coming off in most areas with acetone..thanks!!!
What I did certainly wasn't difficult, so I'm not sure the eraser wheel is "easier." I think the heat gun is just "different" from what you did. Both are valid and effective ways to remove stickers.
We used a Behr acrylic multi-surface primer followed by Behr Marquee Exterior Semi Gloss (Green Balsam).
That puddy is called butel tape. It's good too! Nice job.
Good to know! Thanks 😊
Thank you because my starcraft really need painting awesome job
Good luck!

Good video! Thanks for sharing! I just got me a pop up camper and I’m going to give it some love.

Looks incredible well done. I'm going to do mine in camo
Go for it!
Great video and the camper came out really nice. Good job all the way around.
Thanks 👍
Labor of Love, great job.

Good for you!
Looks nice thank you
I'm going to do the roof only on my popup. I bought some white rubberized paint
nice job guys
Love it! Gonna attempt!
Paint tripper is great for removing decals also
I can’t believe you were brave enough to stand on it!!
No problem at all, very sturdy
This is a very good and informative video
Glad you think so!
So two years out how has the paint held up? Any chips or scratches??
It looks amazing 👏🏼
Thank you!
That looks great!
Thank you!

Thank you Kaleigh! Have fun painting!
Looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the video. When you painted the final coat did you use a roller, brush or a spray gun? Nice job and excellent video on explaining what you've done.
Hi Jules, I used a roller in most places, and a brush when the roller wouldn't fit.

Looks great
We used a Behr acrylic multi-surface primer followed by Behr Marquee Exterior Semi Gloss. The primer was white, and the paint was Green Balsam.
Nice color. Really want to do like u but ...
You can do it!
Great work!
Thanks Matt!
Nice work! What is the name of the paint color you used?
@@kristinwolla2224 Hi Kristin. It's Behr Marquee Exterior Semi Gloss, Green Balsam
Thanks I will do the same on my
Best of luck to you!
how was the caulking on the trailer?... Were there cracks and voids? plenty of water use especially with a pressure washer, did you get water in them?
It was sealed very well - and that's a benefit of the primer, it tends to seal very small gaps
Awesome
Great job, but that particular shade of green?
without a doubt! 😉
Great job 👏
Thanks, Rick!
Looks great! How well has the paint held up since you completed this project?
Hey Greg, it's held up great. I have about 1/4 can left that I've kept just in case, but haven't had any need to touch anything up.
Same question a year later. How's it holding up?
Mortite, not Morlite. And great recommendation!

I would think that when you remove the stickers & sand them down, all the marks should come off
its much easier to take off the decals with an eraser wheel that attaches to your drill, pretty cheap on ebay, much easier way
What I did certainly wasn't difficult, so I'm not sure the eraser wheel is "easier." I think the heat gun is just "different" from what you did. Both are valid and effective ways to remove stickers.
Where in Colorado did you camp?
The thumbnail picture was taken in Buno Gulch near Georgetown, CO.
I saw a youtuber posar how to remove the logos off a little easier then scraping it and using a heat gun. She used a sander
,, olive green for the new canvas ,,
did you roll the paint on or HVLP?
Rolled it
How is the paint still holding up?
We ended up selling the pop-up, but the paint looked great when we let the camper go.
This is called..Putty Tape. I use it..best!
How long did the entire process shown here take?
I think I spent a couple full days on it
Did you use any clear coat on it anywhere?
No
Why not paint thinner or just acetone
Because.
Double rainbow
What kind of primer did you use?
I used a Behr acrylic primer from Home Depot. I believe it was something they call "multi-surface"
,, saved an old one ,,
Rubber grinding wheel is much faster and it's only 1 step
Sweet God.. it's a heat gun.
That’s kinda hilarious actually! Oops. Not sure why I was calling it a “hot air” gun.
Makes a video on How to paint a camper and skips the part where he paints his camper lol
