Thanks for the feedback!! We sold the pop up shortly after this, we upgraded to a 2011 Keystone Passport. We have halfway remodeled already and working on editing, so stay tuned!! 🙃

There is a Company out of Wisconsin that has brand new canvas made for your original camper. Better then the original canvas ever was because they "tint" the plastic windows. They usually run under a $1000

Pop up tent is nice .
When it comes to the canvas, if one side is bad, you can buy replacement for each side separately.

I also live in Vegas ! My hubby and I got a 78 ‘ Starcraft galaxy 6 pop up camper for free from a lady in Henderson. Since then we have spent about 3,000 to fix it up. We decided to buy all new canvas , a rooftop ac and a bunch of other little upgrades. We take it up to mount Charleston all the time now and I just love the heck out of our pop up ! I hope you guys enjoy it ! Go up to fletcher view they have full electric hookup , bathrooms , fire pits and it’s only 33 dollars a night !
A new canvas is truly so worth it!!! Yours must be pretty fancy, we didn’t have any AC😂 Oh enjoy!!! We have moved out of Vegas and I definitely love/miss Mt Charleston 💙

What color spray paint did y'all use? Do you remember?
@@enigmagatsby1 I do not remember the color I’m sorry!! but it was the ”fabric” spray paint and this brand didn’t have a ton!! They had just enough colors to match certain canvas colors. Good luck!!

This reminds me of our first family pop up camper my parents brought home when I was about 8, what a piece of junk it was. Fast forward 50 years now some of my greatest memories as a kid was with the family in n that camper tracking all over the US. Wishing you and your family some of the best memories in your lives!

I have a Jayco Feather. It’s a hybrid and we love it.
I wasn’t a big fan of the color scheme though.
What kind of paint did you use?? In case I ever get brave enough to remodel it!😂
The only thing that I didn’t like was the contact paper. You did a great job!
Miracle mist will make your moldy camper look like new again it's a little on the pricey side but it really works excellent Speedy stitch for repairing seems infrared heaters work great to a lot cheaper than propane
I just used that stuff today and it was amazing!

Strap down the footy stabilizers as they r notorious for falling down when driving I use bungees on mine and worked like a charm

Yes sir! We had the title and it confirmed 1984! Must be the mid 80s model! We have since sold this and are in the market for another full camper to redo! They’re so fun.
I completely redid mine 2 years ago I still haven't even had a chance to use it but it turned out really nice I ended up putting the microwave in and a small refrigerator keep all the retro colors turn out really nice can't get rid of mine but good luck for your next one
I hope this works well for your family! I wouldn't want to sell this as a flip. The top of the sink is going to peel quickly, that table is supposed to fold down to make another bed with the cushions from the back of the benches, and the crumbs you'll get in between those boards 😳 I'd be interested to know if that canvas repair lasted... As a new Englander we get all kinds of weather in the same dang day. That wouldn't last long up here unfortunately.

My husband and I got a Jayco 1208 from 1994 recently and this is giving me some great ideas. The screen by the door on both sides don't looked closed on yours. Did you fix that and if so how?
I think somebody else asked this, I’m not sure what screen you’re talking about. The tent part? Ours wasn’t broken or missing anything so I think this may just be the design! If I’m wrong about what you’re asking please let me know cause this seems to be a common question
Stupid question how did you sew that patch on? Is there a machine called speedy stitcher or is that done by hand?
My wife and I just got our first pop up and want to make it more personal to us & this vid was helpful.

The large patch for the canvas tear was used with a speedy stitcher, it’s basically a handheld manual sewing “machine”. It’s on Amazon and there is a kit that comes with canvas fabric as well! Highly recommend because it was very useful/easy BUT we could not have done it alone. It was 100% necessary for us to do this together and as I mentioned in the video it took FOREVER so patience will be a virtue🤣🙏
How did you use the speedy stitcher on this tear? would love a brief tutorial, please and thank you. I can't afford to replace my entire canvas! Thank You!
So this was absolutely a two person job! One of us was inside the camper and the other was outside…. Whoever was inside had to pull the string out of the speedy stitcher and start the next stitch. Person on the outside operated the tiny speedy stitcher! Best way I can explain it. It also took a LONG time! We spaced it out over a few days because it was so tedious and time consuming. BUT it did a wonderful job!

Hi! Thanks for watching :) The cabinet doors and latches are original to the Jayco trailer. Maybe check eBay? Or old jaycos for parts! The year of our model is 1984, hope that helps!!
@@youngfreeandrv6940 yes that does help. I have a 1994 StarCraft that needs to be updated. I will ask on how your floating floor is doing. I see the video is a year old and thinking about putting flooring in like you did. I hear it can separate some because of temperature change. Is your floor doing good still. One thing I will tell you that I saw that looks really good is ceiling tin squares that you peel and stick. I saw someone do that to there pop up and it looked really good. I agree!! We intended on including that but we didn’t keep track as well as we should have, so any information we give wouldn’t have been accurate. I’d like to say we spent around $700 all together. The foam cushions for the benches and the mattress replacements for the two beds were the most costly.

Amazon, it’s the Zinus brand. We even bought that brand for our home king size mattress and loved them!

Those are the original 1984 Jayco handles :)
So you do this as an investment to buy and sell? I was looking at keeping one.
Not as a business :) It was a steal of a deal so we did what we could with what we had! We did end up selling it before we moved and made a great profit so I would definitely do it again if we found a great deal on a camper!

on 15:19, what did you guys use to closed up between the door and the canvas? mine don't have them plastic to attach the canvas to the door. TIA
Hello! That’s just a piece of sheet metal we cut to fit! There was a piece of rotting wood there before, very easy fix! Good luck :)
Maybe I misunderstood your question. Sorry!! So this canvas and door had a slight gap between, I think all older pop-ups will have that issue. There is nothing to close it up on this 1984 JAYCO Model, hopefully you find a solution!
How about an extra piece of material sewn in & snaps to snap to the door. Then when it comes down you can unsnap it. Just a thought, hope it will help
@@carrolkeller5298 I figured it out. The plastic is being sewed in the canvas already. All I have to do is to bend the canvas in on the door to hold. Thank you guys
