I just did the shower flip mod, that is going to make life MUCH easier. I also made my own water filtration system for a fraction of the price of the clearsource system AND with better filtration metrics. I got a dewalt drill battery adapter and 12v converter so I can run the pump from a drill battery that I'll already have (a 2ah battery will filter about 120 gallons of water and can easily be recharged from my car's built in 150w inverter). Grab the tub, throw the intake hose in the water source, and either fill jugs from the flexible 3' hose or hook it to an extended hose to fill the camper directly (if close enough). Or, maybe just bring a few 5 gallon jugs of water to filter and do it at the camper straight into the camper
Technically I can, however my batteries would be dead in an hour or so. Doesn't make since to run your A/C off 12v due to the fact that there is little to no insulation holding in the AC - being that its a tent.

Should really go 24 of 48 volts less amperage strain you don't need those thick cables what generally do cause heat problems bad connections and even fire
@@patricklacson I have 200 amp hours - I can run my system in the winter for about 7 days with moderate sun - The main draw is my 12v fridge & the heater fan at night. Emergency situations, I can plug into my truck and the engine acts like a generator.
@@patricklacson The 12v Dometic is easier to keep the temp from freezing - the 3 way camper fridge on propane can be tricky to keep from freezing in the winter months camping when it's 30 +/- each day. I run the 3 way on propane, so it saved me power on my battery and the 12v doesn't draw that much power - that's a perk of the 12v especially in the winter months.
I wish you could come teach me and my Grandson how all this works! Amazing. Me and my wife just turned 60 and we are looking for a travel trailer or pop up.

LOL - 4-7 days, and I camp in the winter primarily, so I don't get the sun height that you will in the summer. I didn't want to have to worry about power & I don't! :)
Great ideas! You answered long thought out questions I have had with solutions. Specifically the solar & especially the water (which I absolutely loved!). Not too keen on the permanent rod holder as you could break the pole or foul it while driving. But I'm a fisherman so I'm picky! Ha ha ha ha. Definitely saving this one!
I did, but I also only paid $7,200 including taxes in 2019 and it was only 2 months old, used twice! It was miss marked at the dealer, they accidentally listed the trade in price they gave for a trade in. I've got $12,500 into it & I could make money selling it today!
@@One2ManyHobbies question - i need to make a table for our camp stove that "cleets" onto the existing hanger on our pop up. here do i get that hanger, i cant find it.
@@trevorhummer9179 You have to buy the BBQ bracket as a replacement - then cut off the bracket - it's not cheap for the piece you need, but it's the only option.
I also did a solar setup on my old popup (200w and not as crazy as yours). It's super cool to see your batteries charging just from the sun for the first time.
Im surprised you needed air bags for your pop up, mine is the larger model with a bigger deck for my dirt bikes and I've had no issues with my jeep, I enjoyed your video and actually got some good ideas for my simular pop up. I like the cook box and I'm interested in that project as the oem grill was an incredible let down, I am not sure if you experimented with your ac and generators but as a hvac guy ill tell you a cheap hard start was all it took and my ryobi inverter generator 1800 watt running load, can run my ac all day. I'm happy with my generator but I would like to add some small solar to keep everything topped off. I definitely prefer to be out of the pop up enjoying the location vs siting inside and running it all down during the day. I'm going to copy your shower door fix because that was the first major problem in mine
Thanks for watching, glade you got some ideas for your camper. I load my truck down pretty hard, I carry a bunch of firewood, 80 qt cooler and the extra weight I added to the tongue was the reason I wanted air bags - I could have gotten away without them, but a level ride is so much smoother. I can actually run my a/c with my 2k inverter, b/c it's got a peak of 4k watts, although a soft start would really help with the start up load draw - we don't our a/c it b/c we're always winter camping. I'm working on the plumbing video now, on how I merged the shower & sink into a 3 inch drain - should be out soon.
@@One2ManyHobbies I have the smaller 1910 esp and 16 f150. Loaded, I have a little squat, but like you said it’s nice to get it leveled out. I pull a friends 30’ twice a year a few miles. Love the set up and the extra space on the trailer nfor extra tool box. Any suggestions to upgrade the original axel of a 73 Coleman to add off-road Wheels? And the solar panels how much electronics can you too. With 300 watts and for how long those batteries will last you.?
Thanks! You could do an axle flip on your 73’. I can camp for about 4 - 5 days without any solar in the winter & probably 7+ days in the spring & fall with no heater, the heater draws a lot of amps. With some decent solar input back into the batteries - I can camp for 10+ days in the winter with the high heater draw & forever in the spring & fall. I’ll run out of propane in the winter before my barriers die now
If you have leaf springs, you can do an axle flip like he said. If you have a Dexter Torflex axle, like my 86 Coleman had, you can use 2x2 blocks to lift it. If you want to go super crazy like I did, you can import a Cruisemaster independent offroad suspension and have that installed. Costs only a little more than a new axle system. But it's made for offroad and sold on some of the major offroad campers.

That is so awesome!! I just picked up a 2017 esb and it's at the dealer right now getting air conditioner, 2000watt inverter and of course 2 BATTEL BORN BATTERY'S I CAN'T WAIT TO GET HER BACK AND GO CAMPING!!!
Nice & Congrats!! Smart investment, especially if you enjoy camping off the grid. Enoy! Take a look at the plumbing video I just posted - it's one of the best things you can do on the PUP I think.
maybe i could just buy one of these pop ups..........bring it to you.................and you could work all your sweet sweet magic on it?? for a price of course!!
Lol, consulting fee?????
Should really go 24 of 48 volts less amperage strain you don't need those thick cables what generally do cause heat problems bad connections and even fire
Hey John, if I had a bigger battery bank, let’s say 600 amp hrs or more & a larger 120v draw I probably would have. I rarely if ever use the inverter.
Awesome mods! I love the outdoor cooking area and the solar setup. What devices/appliances do you use your 2000w inverter for?
The inverter runs the whole rig, except the Air Condition. Mainly runs the blower fan in my heater & my 12v Dometic cooler.
@@One2ManyHobbies In that setup what is the ah of your battery and how long will it last roughly before you recharge?
@@patricklacson I have 200 amp hours - I can run my system in the winter for about 7 days with moderate sun - The main draw is my 12v fridge & the heater fan at night. Emergency situations, I can plug into my truck and the engine acts like a generator.
@@One2ManyHobbies Which is more energy efficient, your 12v fridge or your 3-way fridge (propane+12v) while boondocking?
@@patricklacson The 12v Dometic is easier to keep the temp from freezing - the 3 way camper fridge on propane can be tricky to keep from freezing in the winter months camping when it's 30 +/- each day. I run the 3 way on propane, so it saved me power on my battery and the 12v doesn't draw that much power - that's a perk of the 12v especially in the winter months.
Awesome run through man!!!
Thanks for watching!
I have a rock wood “off-road” package... thing is a POS.. thanks for the ideas
Would love to see a video focusing just on the solar/electric upgrades.
Not much to focus on except which components I used. Wiring is to technical but I might create a video in the future
Yes. I would love to hear more about the kitchen and solar setup!!
Good 💩💩
Just not sure I want to tow a trailer yet. GTT Ground top tent still works for me
With 2 kids now, I had to make setup & tear down an easier process.
I wish you could come teach me and my Grandson how all this works! Amazing.
Me and my wife just turned 60 and we are looking for a travel trailer or pop up.
Good luck on your camping adventure! Hopefully this video helps!
Do you have a link to the fishing pole holders? Can't find them on Amazon. Thank you

i have the beaver tree camp kitchen chuckbox.
“Pro tip” hahaha
Lol
man im really digging these mods! i just bought a somerset pop up, and im really interested in making it off grid capable. what solar pannels did you use on the roof? you said they are 350w but i dont think you mentioned what they were. Id love to see a video on how you wired all that up. Keep it up man! subscribed!
Thanks for watching & the sub!! There are links in the description to almost everything I used. I'm using 175watt Renogy panels on the roof.
How long do you camp on an average trip? I think 1 charge on those battleborns would last us all summer haha. Cool upgrades!
LOL - 4-7 days, and I camp in the winter primarily, so I don't get the sun height that you will in the summer. I didn't want to have to worry about power & I don't! :)
Thanks for sharing.
Please tell me that you'd put one together for me and sell it to me. How Much?
Put what together???
Great ideas! You answered long thought out questions I have had with solutions. Specifically the solar & especially the water (which I absolutely loved!). Not too keen on the permanent rod holder as you could break the pole or foul it while driving. But I'm a fisherman so I'm picky! Ha ha ha ha. Definitely saving this one!
Thanks for watching! Hope this helped! I only put my shirt light spinning rods in the holder while driving.
Awesome mods, csnt wait to make a few of those mods to my Popup
$75k pop up
LOL, I actually got the pop up for $6,400 and I put another $5k into it. The camper was miss marked at the dealer.
Dude sunk some freaking MONEY into his pop up.
I did, but I also only paid $7,200 including taxes in 2019 and it was only 2 months old, used twice! It was miss marked at the dealer, they accidentally listed the trade in price they gave for a trade in. I've got $12,500 into it & I could make money selling it today!
I don't say this often, but this guy is bad ass😎 awesome set up.
LOL - thanks!
Nice little walk around and upgrades. Thank you. We love our Coleman Pop-Up camper. Along with our collection of solar generators. Mark & Teresa.
Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed the video!
@@One2ManyHobbies We sure did!
you're making me need to spend alot of money right now.
Worth every penny - I need to do an update to this video - I've added some more mods.
@@One2ManyHobbies Thank you sir, earned sub.
That thing looks pretty comfy
I have this camper great ideas thanks for info.
We have the same drainage issues with our pop up sink, how did you fix it?
I have a separate video sharing the install of the new plumbing. It’s linked at the end of the video.
This is an awesome video. We just bought a 2021. Can't wait to get it modified to out needs.
Awesome!! Glade the video helped out!!
I also did a solar setup on my old popup (200w and not as crazy as yours). It's super cool to see your batteries charging just from the sun for the first time.
Yeah, it's a cool feeling for sure! Free Energy!
The air bags are so helpful . Many cases, it’s just nice to have and does cost all that much. Plus easy to install.
