This is awesome! Not everyone wants a traditional pop-up tent trailer, which yes, has more space…but this thing is ready in seconds when you arrive, and you can actually bring some stuff along with you inside the camper. Very cool!
That is an amazing trailer. The price does reflect the quality and materials… you can’t even compare it to the stick and tin trailers. They do have their place, for light use and occasional camping. This rig looks like it’s ready for an around the world excursion.
You see, this is for the 'overlanding' crowd who will throw money at the latest gear without much thought. As long as it was made for OFFROADING, they are in. These are the people graduating from a 10 grand rooftop tent that they never deploy.
12:25pm. Great trailer and presentation. Went straight to the website after watching. Scout starts at 51K?! Asked why 51K starting when 4 month old RUclips video stated starting at 36K and 45K for featured model. Got an automated reply not answering question at all. Am going to call them direct. I like this trailer. I just hope they don't fall into the same fiasco OverKill did.
I like the manual features. We were looking for something like this 8 years ago to camp with our kids, small but functional with options. Love the awning.
Did you notice that when the awning was set up that there was a large gap over the door and if raining with the door open water will be running down , that's my only dislike about a setup like this.
@@dmc2087 A regular square awning over the door side would be sufficient and cover the door. Because the rear hatch covers the back side, the batwing awning is not really required. There would be a 90 degrees space open turning the corner but a small tarp could cover that or part of it if you really want full 2 sided coverage.
I'm new to this RUclips channel, but have been researching similar offroad campers for some time. I appreciate all the thoughtful comments posted to date; here are some that haven't been mentioned yet: I, too, had the innovative Overkill SO 5.10 on my shortlist (along with the Mission Overland, etc.). Sad to hear of their business failure and fallout. Yes, for this price, a non-fabric top would extend both this trailer's usefulness and comfort. I note their website now includes photos of a bigger/heavier model with solid pop-up walls. Nothing's been mentioned about the weather tightness/durability of the manual slideout and its seals against rain/wind intrusion. If bears can rip open steel car doors and trunks, even a heavy metal screen isn't "bear-proof," but it's the best I've seen to date. Soundproofing sheets, applied to those noisy cabinet doors, should dampen metallic resonance -- but where are all the dust gaskets on the rear cabinet doors? Those Baja Designs exterior work lights are great -- until they're torn off by passing tree branches; such fixtures need to be smooth-edged to preserve them. Lastly, a $10K price cut would put this class of trailers into the realm of possibility for me, and most other potential buyers.... Best wishes on the channel!
I agree with all you said. :) No one can make the perfect camper, but attention to all the little details does change buyers minds. Anyone have some hacks?
I like the size, and versatility. I could work around the fact that the shower is outside, and would like a cassette toilet to use inside. Access to water on the inside would be nice. Price is a bit much for me. Another great option/review! Thanks Patrick.
There are approx.2,5 gallons portable cassette toilets with built-in water tank now on the market. They are 3 stacked parts : Bowl, water tank, detachable cassette.
That trailer looks very robust. I love the manual slide out and the outdoor kitchen with the 270 awning. Very nice! Bonus for recommending a poop tent :)
I really like this trailer! Reminds me of the Overkill SO5.10. It’s got me thinking about the longer one with a wet bath. Thanks for posting this, Patrick.
Overkill went under so they probably sold like some of the design rights and they went under because of some shady stuff they were doing like no giving back money upon request and just a whole bunch of other stuff
I received one of the last Overkill 5.10SO trailers off the line before the owner took deposits on new trailers and mid production run trailer builds and closed the doors before joining Epik design team. The pending customers in the queue lost 1000s of dollars. And no warranty work on existing trailers. Beware this 'new' production run before the 'bugs' are worked out. Anyone notice no spare tire for the trailer? I guess you have to put it in the tow vehicle.
Truly appreciate the quality of this unit...very well laid out I will be looking into this this weekend... thanks for a great sales person very well done..
$45,000 and no bathroom, no thanks. Popups are cold in the cooler months and impossible to cool in the summer. Very nice review by a sweet young lady. Thanks for the variety in your videos Patrick!!
It's not a pop up. Think of it as headroom. It's more of a square drop, but with the roll out and other features it really is the Cadillac of square drops.
Yo Patrick, I saw your short on the ranger model so I popped back into your videos. Found the scout tour. What a rig! Omg .Yes. looking forward to the full ranger tour. Thanks again for another great vid
It will be interesting to watch but at the end of the day it is $36,000 for a loud (in the wind) pop-up tent. Wish it used the new hard sided pop-up tent design.
You get a kitchen, shower, food storage, multiple places to sleep, including the pop up tent for $36k.. and it’s not going to be windy every single time you go camping 🙃
It’s unfortunate that so many people are interested in these, otherwise the manufacturers wouldn’t be charging insane prices. The prices never make sense on things like this, they’re almost always 2x what the market says they should cost. You could get a fully furnished 2 bedroom trailer for what these manufacturers want for a tiny caravan or a slide in camper etc. Make it make sense… 1/4 of the trailer for 100% of the price. I hate it. It’s just like car manufacturers, with their 100k trucks that nobody buys and all the dealerships had to go purchase off-site lots to store all the 100k trucks that nobody is buying, letting them rot to the elements, dust, dirt, debris, leaves, pollen, etc they have to bring a charger or a new battery anytime they go to the lot because all the batteries are completely toast because they’ve sat for so long.
Right on!. If you are going to show case your new camper build maybe have a newer and cleaner tow vehicle. This looks like it belongs parked on the streets of San Francisco. Also maybe at least wipe down the trailer before filming to remove the road dirt accumulated on the drive to the shoot location. Amateur hour.
Nice size trailer , my only problem is when the awning is deployed there is huge gap over the door that won't be covered and the angle roof design with out gutters will be like walking through a waterfall going inside or out when it is raining .
These rugged little campers are cool. I especially love the slide out exterior camp kitchens. That being said, no way I'm paying more than my truck cost brand new for a trailer that's had a bunch of potential leak points added to it with unnecessary pop up/outs, has a smaller bed than most and has no toilet/shower (real shower).
We recently discovered the Epik Scout. My husband and I are absolutely in love with it! Quick question -- does anyone know, when Marissa mentioned the other model with a kitchenette and toilet, was she referring to the Ranger, or are they designing a third model?
Great presentation. Trailer is fantastic. Though the electrical bay gave me pause because it looks crammed in there, nothing is tied down. On rough roads that can be a serious fire hazard.
Well thought out camper! The pop top gives you the camping experience, but you can still keep it closed if needed. Plus, my dog doesn’t poop where he sleeps so why would we…the toilet tent makes sense! 😂
I’ll take a peak at the website… they said they’re working on a bigger model so I’m taking it that’s going to be Insanely more expensive… I wish the small version had a ac for the roof and a cassette toilet. I’d love for it to be geared for one or 2 people vs 500 in a tiny space. But I can see this being very good for a family that doesn’t want to tow something big but it doesn’t fit my needs… now I just gotta say, am I the only one that loved seeing that old dodge pull this trailer? 😁🤤… great presentation though. I dig this channel. Always bringing interesting things to view. I stand corrected. I just oooked at the website and the scout starts at $51k…. Not 36k like she said and the bigger one is $67k start point. Yeah that’s crazy. But maybe it will work for someone
Wonder if it will be cheaper price if it's without outside kitchen and pull out fridge. As camping in northern climate, i prefer everything inside. If i want to cook outside, i use a portable stove. All those pull outs and rear stuff takes a lot of living space.
Nice trailer. Wouldn't it make more since to turn the stove and the drawer to open to the back to integrate with the back storage area. I suspect the draw needs to be to the forward side because of the 45 deg. cut on the back of the trailer but that could be fixed with the slide.
Cool design. Reminds me of another trailer. Base Design looks to be very bare before adding options like heat, a stove, spare tire, leveling jacks etc. so expensive IMO although I do like the design

In the pullout kitchen, wouldn't it make a hell of a lot more sense to have the stove and the drawer flipped to face the rear, since that would make it a lot easier to move stuff from the prep surface and the rest of the rear storage? I also thought the mattress and pads looked a little thin to be comfortable (which would certainly be pretty easy for a buyer to solve on their own if they agreed). Other than those quibbles, this looks like an absolutely amazing product!

Amazing camper. Every detail is so well done. Totally worth the price tag. Marissa, you did a great job showing it off. Well done!
