I don't know why people buy from FitmentIndustries. They're just a dropshipping website that charges wayy too much for wheels, the only thing worth a damn on there is the gallery but that's it
We all know that the real reason Ben didn't go for a real carbon roof is not the 7K $ price tag, but the fact that he'd catch Mark's hands. On the face, multiple times
I had my car detailed there in 2021 and we talked a long time about the new barn plans when they still used the house garage. It's awesome to see what it's become.
Fitment industries is catering to the newer generation of “enthusiast” who is too lazy to actually spend some time researching/learning about their car. It’s not that hard to find wheel specs on your own.
@@GD7LTD What kind of ignorant comment is this, why shouldn't enthusiasts use such a type of site to find the perfect spec wheels if they can? There's no pride in doing simple and basic things the hard way, quite the contrary. I would love to have such a thing here instead of having to use Croooober, Yahoo japan and all sorts of other useless hiccups.
I really liked the original bronze color, I think white/bronze is absolutely top tier. Super classy but not boring. My cream/off white 240z will have definitely bronze watanabe type Rs at some point
Honestly Ben, that original bronze wheel color was just perfect for it and I think even better with the advan you chose.. I’d go with that if it were me
personally, I'd get some new, not rusty wheel nuts for it, and leave the wheels blue for a bit. Let it grow on you for a while, then see how you feel about it. You could also go the route of painting the calipers grey or a less obvious colour to compliment the wheels more. *shrug*
I didn't consider the idea of repainting the calipers instead, that's a good idea also. Tough sell to repaint brand new wheels but the blue on red is definitely not working.
You might not be able to tell real carbon from the carbon film on the roof, but you will likely have to tell everyone that it's film when they compliment the aesthetics lol. Thanks for making these vids. Love the ideas you guys explore.
As soon as you said "were doing a carbon roof." I imagined Mark grabbing the camera like a found footage horror film saying "we are not doing this again" as he runs away into the distance.
I would have wrapped the roof black, since now you need to swap all the black parts to carbon. ;) Also the wheels should be either silver, aluminum etc.
Sorry to be commenting from the other video BUT this car is 300hp and the wind facing radiator dimension is 14x27 which is good for 378HP. You need to double the square inchest of radiator opening on your track car. The engine will last much longer. This Civic is beautiful, great job! It will look good even when 20years old. If people stop crashing it.
So glad those dudes continued on with the business, Daniel would be super stoked to know that. Those wheels aren't in neither... just get some CE's and call it a day.
10k miles later and every time it goes from a beautiful sunny drive to a pouring rain drive. My sport 02's still surprise with the grip levels provided.
Spot on with the red and blue contrasting. If the Calipers were blue or black and the Honda Emblem blacked out the blue rims would look a lot better. Love the style of wheels though. I do love bronze wheels on a white car though.
Andy Holis agrees about the ECS02. The PS4S used to be king for a budget rain set of tires, but the most recent batches of that tire have gotten significantly worse/slower.
I already knew it was gonna look bad when you said blue. Red and white looks amazing because it sticks to color theory. Black, Gold,Bronze, Red, white they contrast each other but also complement each other. Blue contract but it doesn't compliment anything other than gold or yellow. You really should look into color theory. Its not necessary but it explain a ton why colors work well together vs why it doesnt.
The TC-4 is a very nice wheel, it looks great in Umber Bronze. So powder coating them bronze or gold would work and still complement the brakes and seats.
@gears and gasoline I've been watching your channel for so many years that I've lost count. I normally dislike the wheel choices you guys make because they look way too OEM, but I love these. I like to go with the OEM+ look, like you guys, but with just a small pop. I had some stock 350Z wheels powdercoated a similar color to use as winter wheels with winter tires when I lived in places that would snow. I'd mount them with some small spacers to get a "flush" look. They would shine a deep blue/aqua color in direct sunlight, but look close to black in the shade. I believe the color was called "Misty Midnight". They were used on my pearl white 350Z, and they looked just as good on the car as my SBC RPF1s or my 2pc silver/polished Volk GTS. I think what you guys need is some way to make it either blend into other parts of the car using blue highlights or contrast with the brake calipers using a color that doesn't clash with the blue as much, like the OEM orange on some Brembo brakes.
Fitment industries banner looks a*s ngl you might be sponsored by them even though it wasn’t mentioned but it just doesn’t match the car at all especially in white black would have been alot bettet
what you should be doing is taking off the front and rear bumper and properly adding ppf to it, cutting corners while bumper is on is only gunna show those imperfect lines...
In my opinion the blue tc4 looks off putting right next to the red brembos. I think if you got it powder coated to a neutral color like black, gray or white. It would look really good on the ctr.
Gunmetal, on the rims definitely. Every other civic out there are on bronze or silver. It will give you enough contrast with the calipers. You could also powder coat the calipers to match. Can’t go wrong with white and gray.
The blue wheels are great. Advan's Racing Indigo Blue has always been one of the more unique colours that Advan makes. It's definitely the weird contrast between the dark indigo and the red calipers. The calipers should be black. Forget about the seats. The Type R's interior should be red, it's one of the identifying features of the car. This doesn't mean you have to colour coordinate the inside and outside. Sort out a situation with a black windshield banner instead of a white one.
I think the windshield banner would have looked a little better if it was just white lettering instead of a white banner with black cutouts. Not hating on the sponsorship cuz y'all need money, but the aesthetic definitely could have been better. That's not on you though, that's on them. Great build!
The blue is a lot visually! My suggestion would be either wrap the colour a brighter colour to compliment it, or go a safer option respraying the wheels such as white, gold or bronze.
The wheel colour is amazing, but on that car with the red accents it's not quite right. You could powder coat them black, bronze, gun metal, or white to match the already existing colours on the car, or to match the OEM wheels. But at the end of the day, it's your choice Ben. Props for trying something new and going for it, but I agree that it doesn't quite work
Should have bought from Martini works lol. Alex talks about you guys all the time haha. Love the gears and gasoline series you guys do with multiple cars. Love the advan wheels. They have great selection of nice rims.
Agree the blue Advan wheels don't coordinate too well with the red calipers and seats. Matte black, gloss black or bronze would be a great color choice.
Late to the party, but a good Honda color to put on those would be galaxy grey metallic with a bit of matte. Its a dark-ish grey with a touch of gold flake in it. Thats my vote
Honestly. As far as you don’t go saying it’s real carbon instead of wrap, then I say wrapping things carbon is a great money saving idea, specially for interior bits.
I totally agree with you Ben the blue wheels look good alone and against the white type r, but with the red calibers it just looks a little off. You could always go bronze or classic black. I also think if you painted the callipers black or something the blue wheels would look a lot better
You should get some hub centric rings for the wheels. Makes it easier to get lug nuts in by centering stud in the center of lug holes, prevent lug holes from scratches when using sockets, decrease vibration. Get stubby valve stems or something else, nice wheels doesn't deserve standard long rubber valve stems.
Fitment once sent me a mounted wheel and tire package (advanti storms with Conti ECSs) and one of the wheels had its tag on a string inside the mounted tire. String was still fixed to a spoke and ran in through the bead. Hilarious
If the fitment industries banner was black w/ white letters it would have looked way better after going out of your way to wrap the roof but it's still clean and I respect all the work put into the car 🤝🏽
There’s a color option for Advan TC4’s that are Gunmetal with Red stickers/lettering, should just do those. But since you already have these, powder coating black makes the most sense
with you on that - the blue and the wheel itself off the car is great, but I am not sure that it meshes well. you could change the caliper color and it would look better - but the red interior is still going to clash a bit, so probably not the right choice. I know your OCD probably already caught this too but the rust on the hubs and the lugs needs some work. I'd suggest like a hyperblack finish on the wheels.
I personally think these wheels do look great in a brighter blue than factory, but the wheel choice is not bad at all. That or just go back to the previous set I think they looked just as good on the car
"The carbon really blends well with the windows"

That banner really ruins it

It is indeed fucking disgusting lmao. What can you do, sponsorship helps out a lot.
the windshield banner threw it all down the drain 💀
I think taking off the windshield banner would make it a lot better. It doesn’t blend in with the black roof
Agree!
The car looks great, not sure about the windshield banner 🤐
Fitment industries gave them 5k worth of tires and wheels I’m sure he has to use the banner
It'd look better inverted I'd say, white letters and stuff
Take it down!
