We thought about driving to Alaska and Hawaii as well, but it turns out it cost $7,000 and two weeks to ship cars to Hawaii, so that's just not rational. but driving all 48 continental states on the other hand...

I was one of those total weebs who watched initial D and was like "I want an AE-86 so bad" but the more and more I learn about cars, the more the FD is becoming my genuine dream car. The rotary is such a cool engine, despite its flaws. The car looks incredible, and with a whole rotary community out there still loving on and running the engine, you can easily learn enough to make it reliable as long as you take good care of it. I would love to own one some day.

This is still without a doubt the most beautiful car Mazda has ever designed and manufactured. It's always been on my sort of bucket list of nostalgic import cars to one day own. Thankfully there's not too many left on that list because I've been fortunate enough to own quite a few of them over the years, albeit most were temporary.
I like to imagine how many kids or people's days were made from seeing two clean FD's drive past throughout the whole trip
Seriously, man. One time I saw two Honda NSX's driving tandem on the highway while I was passing through Vegas, and that certainly was one of the highlights of my whole trip.
Something so simple, yet so satisfying to see.

This has always been a dream of mine to just make a cross country road trip in some nice car with a friend or alone. Idk but it feels like something that could be spiritually uplifting, getting to see and admire all of nature and this world's beauty

The gas mileage is hilarious. A Honda at 4k rpm is still almost 50% more efficient haha
I don't think i would care about 16mpg when i have an afterburner. Just a shame everyone but Ben can enjoy it.

I need ideas on what to do. I put cones out but people keep stealing them. My friend said put nails near my car lmfaoo. I can't even build my car due to this reason.

As a Honda boy and a rx7 owner and enthusiast myself, this is the best video ever. I almost lost it when they started showing all the cars at gridlife. Not to mention just how high quality of a production this is.

Okay, I know this is super late, but the section of video towards the end where they are driving downtown Chicago is soooo beautiful and satisfying. I love the music it is paired with and it looks and could probably be used as a trailer for something cool like a game or movie or something. Edit: Compared to the big turbo, supercharged builds of a k24 civic. Thorns might seem "shit" but reviews like hoonigan autofocus do it justice. You don't need high horsepower to have a nice build or a fast build. Most people that go in a 400hp car will be scared shitless yet you have people making 750+ hp builds look normal and the new standard, which is completely unrealistic and needed in the world outside of RUclips

They inspired me to leave the south on a road trip to the New England area. It’s been so many years since I’ve done that. Glad to have found them when they just made shorter videos.
I like how he justifies the k swap by talking about gas mileage and practicality.
I suppose it’s still far better than a rotary for parts and maintenance.

@@datsun_420z5, it’s not that it’s just people don’t know how to work and run a Rotary engine car. Like shown in the video it’s very picky when it’s comes to how you drive it, how to fill it up with fuel, it’s oil consumption, etc.
