    Hey man, thank you so much for the comparison. Been going back and forth about these two. Just wanted to ask
    Are there any issues which you have faced with the ZV-E1 such as overheating.
    I'll be mainly using it for videography of dance videos in studios where the AC is on. Rarely outdoors. Inclined towards the ZV-E1 for the AI Features and stabilisation.
    I'll be using the stock lens 28-60mm

      Indoors, you will have little to no issues as long as it's not 4K 60...... if it is, then about half hour straight from what I recall. 4K 30 and below, you can go until your card/battery runs out. 4K 60 outdoors overheats, even if you take short clips, which I do a lot of for another channel. That said, it's still pretty usable, but do keep a spare battery on hand, it can do a good job restarting the overheating. On a really hot day, you may get as low as half an hour, on a typical warm day, then about an hour. Indoors, it's a bit difficult to overheat, the 28-60 should give reasonably good stabilization, most of the newer sony lenses tend to behave better than the older/third party.

    Thanks for the video! Appreciated the subtle humour throughout 😂.
    With the latest update (17.2) did the battery life improve? How long can you record a pro res clip externally at 4k60? Would you have preferred the pro max even though you are missing the mid range focal lengths?

      I cant tell about the battery life, it's not great if you use it a lot. I'm ok with the non max, my wife has the 15 max, 14 max, and the battery is nice, but it's too much for my preference, however now that I have found the perfect case, I will probably go max next time. I found a case with built in ring that accepts magsafe and still very thin, wish I found something like that sooner, I would be rocking the max. I am happy with the phone either way, the extra reach and battery would be nice, as I occasionally use it for B-Roll, so the mid range doesnt matter too much for my use. That said, I typically use the zv1 with a small 50 f2.5g, and even with that lowly lens, there's a definite "IT" factor when using a full frame camera, the imagery is too gorgeous for me to give up.

    Amazing video 👏🏻 . but I didn't get the file size between them.
    So, are the iPhone prores files bigger than the zv e1 video files?

    • @CharlieVN

      Yes they are far far far larger.

      the issue with 1" is that they seldom offer 10 bit and probably none of them offer prores. The iphone produces a richer video than my 1" cameras, which I use for top down shots. I would love a super powered 1" sensor camera, but they're not that popular outside of the broadcast world

    I dont know what apple log means but both cameras really don’t look that much different to be spending 3k with lense for something your iPhone already does in 90 percent of scenarios. This video really bummmed me out on the Sony

    • @CharlieVN
      @CharlieVN  6 месяцев назад

      Apple log is the highest quality setting on the iPhone 15 pro/max. Downside is the extremely large file size and external ssd requirement

    Soooo on the fence weather to upgrade to iPhone 15 pro max or buy more expensive used camera and minimum two lens, keep my old iPhone 12 Pro Max for quick snap snap and buy used Sony camera, the camera is surely going to take better photos but takes learning how to use it and time to set up vs snap snap, dam it, anyone else in same dilemma 😵‍💫😵‍💫🤔🤔😬😬😬

    • @CharlieVN
      @CharlieVN  Год назад +1

      Camera is indeed a large learning curve and working with apple log is a bit of a curve in itself. The same can be said about a phone, I built my wife's YT channel to nearly 20K in a short amount of time, just using a phone, most folks dont make use of all three lenses because shot selection takes effort. I'm a content creator so this is a tax writeoff, my kids are keeping their phones forever, those are not tax writeoffs 🤣.

      Thank you for messaging me back, I have Final Cut Pro that I do some video editing from go pro and insta 360 x2 and 3 so I do have some knowledge how to edit, buts it’s been along time since owing a camera and last one I owned was 35mm SLR when one send if the roll of film lol, I’m using the black magic app to get back into manual adjustment iso, white balance ect ect, iPhone is so easy and convenient to just point and shoot but looking for better quality and love landscape and wildlife and also action shoots for windsurfing so im also torn between the full frame and Small crop for more reach but guess you can do both with full frame just more expensive longer lens, cameras are certainly more expensive than even a new iPhone pro max once you start buying lens 😎
