Hi Karmen, thank you for those kind words. I treat every video like it’s the last one I’ll ever make so there’s a lot of thought and prep that goes into it.
I have the Zv-e10 mk2 camera and a Samsung S23 Ultra. However, it would not be appropriate to compare the two devices directly, as they serve different purposes and have distinct strengths and limitations. The camera generally excels in image quality, versatility, and control, while the smartphone offers convenience, portability, and a wide range of features. Each device has its own merits and is suitable for different use cases. But for video and photo i prefer the camera.
phones definitely not going to beat APSC. ProRes Apple Log on iPhone has really made it a usable camera now though which is awesome. I'm loving being able to shoot good footage without lugging around a full camera and lenses.
EXCELLENT CONTENT BRO!!! Just one question: Will you be running some Black Friday Discount for your courses? I am interested on the SONY ZV-E10 II. Let me know as I am very interested. Cheers!
Currently looking to buy a beginner camera for photography and a bit of videography. Which should I buy Canon r50 or Sony zv-e10 or many something else?
Thats actually a very common question I get. Off the cuff it’s hard to say because Canon and Sony are so different. I understand because I was in your shoes at one point in my camera journey. To help you guys find the perfect camera, I created a ‘Which Camera Should I Buy?’ course, and a also free quiz. They might be helpful resources for you as you weigh out your options.
@thefilmalliance bro I don't know about lens which should i choose As a beginner i have only budget I phone 16 pro is as much as my budget 😔And I'm confused again now if i have buy sony zv e10 ii then which lens should i choose also seeing my budget I want to do Film making and cinematography Now brother please you recommend me 🙏🏻
You didn’t have any affiliate links to the Tamron or the Sigma lens you mentioned in the conclusion. Also, which lens would you recommend pairing the E10 with for the studio?
@ thanks for the reply. Love your videos. I’ll be doing real estate updates which will be primarily headshots. On occasion, we could also be showcasing a product, but primarily headshots. I should also mention that I grabbed the stock lens since it was only an extra $100. I will also use the camera for real estate property pics.
I have a lot of night time holiday media events coming up, any tips on setting for using the zve10ii for Christmas lights type shoots (using the 11mm 1.8)? I also don't have a gimbal for the sony, would Active Stabe work at night? I have the dji pocket 3 and might just use that in night mode, just wanting the best quality. I hate going into these shoots without some pre-shoot practice.
I would use the ZV-E10 II with that lens for your Christmas light shoots. I would not walk handheld with it at night. Yes turn active stab on just try to stand in one spot without moving. If walking is critical than I would say use some Christmas money and pickup a gimbal 🎄
@@thefilmalliance Thanks for the input! What gimbal do you suggest, I would want the smallest/lightest one possible. I don't think I saw a gimbal in your description :)
I use sony zv e10 with sigma 16 f1.2 mm and sigma 24 -70 mm f2.8 Dg Dn 2 , I love the combination of these two, great camera for both videos and photos. I usually take photos between 35 to 70 mm that's why bought sigma 24 to 70 cause planning to switch to full frame next year
Vivo x200 pro would go strong against a mirrorless camera i still don't think it will outmatch but its the closest to a camera. I own iPhones and Chinese flagship phones, iPhones are decent at day but in room or low light the colors become desaturated and the image is noisy making it a very obvious phone camera shot.
Yeah, same here! Purchased zve10m2 and it was.. awesome.. NO! This camera makes videos that are slightly better that a phone camera! NO IBIS, AWFUL LOW LIGHT, STUPID LENS CHOICE.. Sold it losing money and bought Lumix S9, miles better camera! IBIS - perfect, when filming steady almost looks like a tripod shot, no need for a gimbal.. Low light amazing! For zve10m2 I had to buy sigma 10-18 f2.8 + sigma 18-50 f2.8, Lumix has a KIT LENS 20-60 that's better quality + much better LOW LIGHT and covers all these focal distances! + it has hybrid-zoom when you rotate focal ring it automagically crops 6k sensor to 4k on long end and you have 20-90! Weight is pretty much the same. Also about fantastic mics on zve10m2.. LOL same sound on Lumix.. Autofocus - for me personally run and gun filming family and dogs running around, catches them pretty much the same speed as Sony.
@@TheBulletClubMadurai dude.. pathetic answer, I told you my true experience, that's TRUE not this BS from the video.. I spend my 5 day trip with sony zve10m2 and I fckng puke each time I want to cut the video from it..
This is a fair comparison for beginners, though I don’t agree with everything presented. For those of us using the iPhone 16 Pro Max professionally, the perspective would be different, as we leverage its unique strengths in ways that go beyond the basics.
@@thefilmalliance I apologize for not responding right away; I’m currently working to meet a deadline. In the meantime, I’ve shared your video in my iPhone Cinematography group to gather opinions. Once I have more time, I’ll compile their responses along with my own and provide a collective answer. Thanks for all the great content you produce! Cheers...
I have never had an iPhone battery problem I’ve oh the iPhone X, the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max current in the batteries are really outstanding! The trip is to use the low power setting every morning with a full battery I switched to low power mode, and I have never had an issue. The battery power will last significantly longer in low power mode
Whenever I tried to make high end videos on my iPhone I always got the feedback to the effect "That's a great looking phone video" but they always knew it came from the phone.
Curios wouldn't The IPhone be at a Great Disadvantage, since The Sony Zv E10 would have more options & access to more lenses which would affect the image quality in a positive way?
Yes that's true, but you know, a lot of folks just wanna grab their camera and start shooting right away. The iPhone 16 Pro is perfect for that. The ZV-E10 II, well, it takes a bit more time to get the hang of.
Can you do a video testing the zv e10 ii overheat with the ulanzi cooler? I am about to buy one and very curious about that! Love ur videos man. watching from Brasil 🇧🇷
Wish you would have mentioned that variable white clipping point bug on apple log when Manual exposure settings are used. Hope Apple fixes that by iPhone 20 Pro as very less people are talking about that.
Hm, what are you using them for?For that I would point you to the “Which Camera Should I Buy” course and free camera quiz I created. It will help you figure out the best choice for what you plan on using it for. I left a link in the description of my latest video.
Great comparison. Great video. But comparing a phone that takes great pictures and video and at the same time is a portable computer where you can get emails, watch movies, videos and even edit your video work and pictures , against a dedicated camera that is only for video and pictures and nothing else is kind of overrated. Is comparing apples to oranges. People have to know what tools they need. If you’re a photographer or videographer you know you need a dedicated tool for that. If you’re a casual photographer you know you can rely on the exceptional quality of the iPhone. But if that quality is enough for your craft and is the portability you need without getting anything else, an iPhone is perfect. People forget that lenses for the cameras are not cheap also. And in many cases the lens from the iPhone out perform cheap lenses.
@ I don’t own the zv-e10. But I just got an iPhone 16 Pro and even though I am crazy for tech, the phone is being sitting on my desk for more than a week. I will be using it as a dedicated video on picture device though. I do have an iPhone 15 Pro Max for daily use. And I am an amateur photographer. mainly micro fourth third bad for portrait I use a Sony a7-2.
