- wamplerpedals.com Here we have the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe. The most legendary circuits is now available with a 3-band EQ and a hot switch. The new EQ let's you match the Tumnus to any guitar and amp setup while the Hot switch makes everything greasier. This pedal is a must have for any Strat or Tele player. It just thickens things up in all the rights areas while adding slight compression. Use it as a boost or crank the Gain and get into thick lead tones. Choose between buffered or true-bypass.
Anyone who really knows how to use a Klon will love this pedal. It is not about the gain on a Klon it's that enhancement tone that just makes everything sound a little better whatever runs into it or after it. Another winner from Brian and another cool demo from Mike.

The Tumnus was always a pedal I wanted, and usually I don't hesitate to raid the coffers, but I'm glad I waited for this version. I wish more overdrives had that mid control (although it seems to be more prevalent these days). Excellent demo as always. Looking forward to next trio video hopefully soon.

I just watched a dozen Tumnus videos trying to be triply sure re tumnus. Should have started here. Most tasteful and effective usage of the pedal, better than the wampler videos. Now to be able to play like that...

I would love the Normal/Hot switch to be accessible by remote EXP, so I could run this into a pedalboard switcher and determine the mode per preset.
Its a great sounding pedal but I'm wondering why the switch is making noise when engaging ans disengaging, about 3:31, 3:56 and 4:02? Its very slight, but nonetheless still present.

Mike I have a question for you, since I saw your both review on this and the honey bee od, I actually have purchased the honeybee od, but ofc the honeybee is a little too light, not the lightest but light a bit, well I would like to know from you, if this falls in the same category as the honeybee, or if it has a different tonality. Personally when I see people mentioning how honeybee gives you a "warmth" sound I think this is more warm then the honey bee tbh, and also more versitilie, but in terms of drive, do they fall in the same category? is it worth getting this ? thank you so much, I'm building my first board, and I'm trying to do stages of overdrive and if you could suggest me any layout I would definitely appreciate it. Thank you!!
Sounds stellar. It sounds like it has an ultra-low noise-floor, is that correct? If you feed a quiet signal into the pedal, does it stay quiet (no hiss or high background noise), even with the gain maxed in "Hot" mode?

Great playing but why did you boost the mids on every setting? I think, the active tone controls were mainly designed to get rid of the excessive midrange the Klon displays when you turn up the gain control. This is IMHO the best feature of this pedal. But maybe that`s just me!

Andrew Moore haha, yeah sure... keep telling yourself that. I had the soul food. It’s crap and you only spend twice that for the mini Tumnus which kicks the soul foods butt! Trust me, I’ve had every pedal you can think of and there is a huge difference between okay pedals, and great pedals. This deluxe tumnus will wipe the floor with that silly soul food! 🤣
Beau Rispalje there klon clones and for a fraction of the cost of the original Tumnus I can get very close to the tones here, i did not say the Soul Food is better I'm simply pointing out that the tones here are achievable with a much cheaper pedal.
Not sure you can get "all these sounds" from the Soul Food, and while I think the Tumnus is a better-sounding pedal, at the end of the day, the guitarist's playing makes more of a difference than a good vs. great pedal. In fact, Mike Hermans did a demo of the Soul Food (2014, under Prymaxe) and makes it sound great!

Soul Food is a good pedal, but lacks the tone stack (bass + midrange) of the Tumnus Deluxe. I gave my Soul Food with JHS "meat and 3" mod to a friend who didn't have a Klon-style pedal, because my Keeley Oxblood has a lower noise floor and switchable extended bass response.

"You wont want to turn it off". Which would be OK if it wasn't as as noisy. Hissy at all settings and, really didn't sound amazing at all. Traded in.

This pedal is not noise at all. Check your power supply, you may have a problem somewhere.

I had that thought too awhile back. I think his guitar, amp and style of playing is really what sells the pedal more so than what the pedal offers. Essentially it's more about what you want out of a pedal as far as features.
