Welcome to the long-awaited, not-to-be-interrupted, Inanimate Insanity season two FINALE! Our finalists, Knife and Suitcase, have battled their way to the end of a very bizarre competition, slowly adapting themselves with every challenge. But after a declined phone call results in deadly consequences, the two must put what they've learned to the test, and race to save everyone.
However... there's no adapting to the truth at the finish line.

WAIT THE ENDING ACTUALLY EXPLAINS WHY MEPHONE CAN RECOVER STUFF
In S3, Ballpoint Pen was horrified by the idea of killing the contestants, showing that recovery isn’t common at all, or possibly even known.
MePhone4S didn’t have the ability to recover anyone, neither did any of the other Meeple products. Just MePhone4.
If the Egg had powerful organic energy, and MePhone3GS gave it to Cobs, it would only make sense that Cobs would put it in his next state-of-the-art creation - MePhone4.

also note that MePhone4's generation power is represented by an increasing volume indicator and green pulse spreading over him, which i'd say is quite evocative of the egg's screeching- which was shown to make that power go haywire.

Using that energy, he can create anything and even make give life. Hence why Bow can scream like the Egg. Even Microphone's scream at Taco's reveal sounds eeriely similar. Everyone's lucky his interests are youthful rn.

Interesting how the 2 biggest object shows that made a future season before a past one take different approaches:
BFDI - Builds the world and lore so then it all lines up
II - Makes it canon that the future season happened first
because season 3 was mephone's vacation.
the future Season did not happen first. mephone4 took a vacation and decided to make season 3 as said in truth or flare.

I think the idea is that the final four season 2 contestants were sort of put in a state where they didn't exist for the length of season 3, and in-universe II2 episode 14 was longer ago than they were allowed to know? And that's why Suitcase was so confused about how much had changed when it should have been no time at all

Finally all the pieces of the puzzle came together, the lost egg, bow and purgatory, suitcase's alliance, taco's redemption and the mystery of cobs, Adam, toilet and Mephone4, but CRAP, I didn't even expect that ending, this series left me shocked, one of the best object shows I've ever seen in my life.

This is part one of the finale
A neat little detail you might have missed in Cobs song is in 12:17 when for a brief second, a list of app updates similar to patch notes are displayed. Under the app called 'MeLife' it says "-Support ending on older devices" which is exactly what we saw happening earlier in the episode when Mephone 4 was unable to recover Pickle. Cobs is ending Mephones support/compatibility with Melife because he is several generations old and is thus obsolete. This is similar to servers being shut down on older versions of the Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation consoles since they are seeing less use as they are replaced.

The reveal of MePhone4 making the contestants is nothing short of an amazing plot twist, as it makes the fact, he can just revive them at will much more believable considering how he literally created them. And the way Cobs reveals it by challenging suitcase and knife's memories is a great way to set things up. It also gives a reason for all of the characters just being stereotypes, as that is most likely what he has seen on other reality TV shows, and he had nothing else to work off of personality wise.

That's probably why he was going to introduce the new stereotypes when season 2 started, but quickly changed what he said to contestants in the beginning of season 2

And all of them at least started out as just plays on their object. Even Lightbulb and Paintbrush argued on it because Paintbrush just assumed Test Tube would be good at science because of her object. But overtime as they also started getting visual and audio updates, they also started to develop their own thoughts and personalities because the longer they existed, the more “human” they were becoming besides just what MePhone saw them as. And the only person not on MeLife was Bot because they weren’t created by MePhone
Also I think bow isn’t his creation and was the second egg that was taken

In all seriousness, did Mephone4 really create the II cast? It actually makes a lot of sense. None of the characters appear to have a "Before Inanimate Insanity." They never mentioned their past (besides Cabby? She doesn't remember it though), despite other objects seemingly having families and lives.
The quality also improves greatly from II to II2... Is there truly a lore reason for this? If Mephone4 created the set and II cast, maybe his skills improved and he developed a better understanding of how real scenery looks and how real objects act?
Moreover, did he turn inanimate objects sapient? Is this why the show is called "Inanimate Insanity"?
And here's a theory: does Mephone4 have the power of the egg that Cobs got ahold of? No other Meeple device is shown to have the power of creation. In fact, Mepad wasn't affected by the green egg, yet it caused Mephone4 to create random inanimate objects. Is this why he can create things? Is this why he can bring objects back to life?
And Cobs was watching Inanimate Insanity the whole time... Isn't it interesting that a tech CEO who implements planned obsolecence (reflecting the real life Apple company) in sapient robots and gets bored of them quickly after they're created, making slightly improved versions and discarding the old ones like they're inanimate objects, is so focused on Mephone4? Is it because he got away and he's petty? Why isn't he focused on Mepad too? Or, maybe, it's because Mephone4 has the power of the egg. Something that can no longer be obtained. Something that he wants back, with or without Mephone4's cooperation.
Segueing, Cobs is definitely trying to manipulate Suitcase and Knife. It's likely the truth, sure, but he's twisting the narrative in his favor. "Actually, Mephone4 is the problem, not me." Is he though? Yeah, he's problematic, but how much of that is the fault of Cobs? Someone who was essentially a father to Mephone4, and a garbage one at that. The implications and direct examples of how Cobs treats his creations (which he views as products/ property) don't paint a good picture. Not to mention how Mephone3GS and Mephone4 react when they're reminded of him (which is unnervingly similar to PTSD flashbacks). Suitcase and Knife have a right to be upset about this information that has been kept from them this whole time, but hopefully they realize that Cobs needs to be stopped in time. He's the worst.
What will be revealed in part 2? I'm excited for it.

I think you’re definitely right about the egg being part of MePhone, and during the invasion in Episode 14 he was the only one phased. There’s also be more thing too, going back to the egg it would make a lot of sense for cobs to be so invested in it if it’s already apart of MePhone, if he got his hands on Fan’s Prime Shimmer, he’d be able to create a better, more improved, stronger version of MePhone, and if MePhone could create life, then what’s from stopping Cobs creating his own society, making more machines to be stronger and fight off against the Prime Shimmers for more eggs, and having that society purchase his products, unknowingly putting his own Profit through his own rotation of corporate greed, this is Springy turned up to the hundreds. And one FINAL. Thing, Cobs revealing all of that is groundbreaking on a whole other level that I haven’t seen anyone mention, and that’s that MePhone himself, isn’t what he seems to be, and maybe he’s not that great either, well intended maybe, but not as pure as we all may’ve thought.
I have heard of a theory that the last egg is *inside* MePhone, and is why he is so much more "normal" than the other Meeple products. Mephone has an *actual* soul in him and that the egg is a power source for him (an example I think the original creator of the theory used was MePhone4S's possible anger issues).

II now has something BFDI don’t: The characters’ origins.
When we watch object shows, we just accept that those objects are sentinent beings that has limbs… or at least a face, without questioning how. While BFDI kept its goofy style even after about 13 years with absolutely no deep lore behind anyone, and if they do, almost no explaination. But II, transitioned from being a bootleg object show heavily inspired by Total Drama and BFDI, changed the tone to an emotional rollercoaster + good object show. Character development in II was so much better compared to BFDI. While some change for the better and some changed for the worse, every original contestant in II learned from their mistakes, while newer ones showed their true personalities in a way that’d make you resonate with them. Suitcase, during early season 2, was no more than a really kind and sweet Aussie, but then when her voice got deeper, she started showing how it feels to be self-conscious with no one to talk to. Hallucinations, anxiety and hyperventilations, she was in a bad state of mind for a good chunk of the later episodes until episode 15 when she got to tell everyone. Another example of great character development is Knife (I threw in the season’s finalists because they get more screen time). He was the ‘Duncan’ of season 1, just a jerk. But in season 2, he grew to be nicer and more sympathetic or in Trophy’s words, ‘gone soft’, like the advice he gave to Suitcase which inspired her. He grew out of his horrible phase which got him an early boot to gaining Suitcase’s trust to let him join her in the final 2.
Honestly, BFDI and II carried my childhood. Can’t wait for the next part!
Also, Duncan & Knife both made it to the Finals of their second season.

Mephone4- he actually jas a panic attack at the end of the episode but this time its worse as seen that suitcase and knife spazes out, if what cobs is saying is true that also means mephone4 cant exactly EVER get away from him and really tied to by creating his own world where the thought of cobs freaks him out in Genaral, that also means that hes pretty isolated with nobody around except mepad to help out and mephone4s who dies later on

That last line honestly puts a more dark context on why Cabby has a hard time remembering things, even her parents.
The hotel is in chaos,.and I feel we'll see how characters like Paper and Taco will handle their reactions, espically given their last exchanges with OJ and Pickle,and we'll see more characters who had short screen time like Tissues, Trophy and the Cherries get a bit more of it, and hopefully the Season 3 newbies as well.
And we finally got the return of the Purgatory Mansion residents. It's great to see them be part of the finale after their long absence.
Really looking forward to the rest of this arc and seeing more of Cob's motivations.

Rewatching Test Tube's Exit Interview from S3, she says she can't recall how she got so smart. Or it's like when Cabby tells Bot that she can't remember her parents. You could even say that Fan feeling like they have no life outside the show in S2 is another example. Little things like this all add up to this moment

I also assume any other background characters we don't see again were deleted by Cobs,like the recommended characters for the debut in season 1 and the t-shirt contest,Firey,Pencil,the annoying orange and heck where OJ got that Chinese food in episode 4 or that could've been just a random object Mephone 4 generated for OJ and also this explains why on calls he uses a phone instead of himself he was copying other objects on TV who use phones,because they weren't phones,he doesn't know what anything just copying the things without realizing the true nature or purpose kind of like a Cargo Culty way of doing things,also anything from "Walmart" is obviously generated from, Mephone he probably threw in a "Cucumber" (he doesn't know what a Cucumber is apparently because it's the same asset) in Marshmallow's box cause in these types of shows there is romantic tension,and up to this point there was no romantic tension
